How To Write Essay Conclusion
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write Essay Conclusion" may initially seem like a
straightforward task, but delving into the intricacies of crafting a compelling conclusion can
make it more challenging than expected. The conclusion is not merely a summary; it's a synthesis
of ideas, a final opportunity to leave a lasting impression on the reader.
To begin with, one must carefully review the entire essay to ensure a thorough understanding of
the main arguments and key points. Crafting a conclusion requires a reflective approach,
contemplating the significance of the discussed ideas and their broader implications. It's not just
about restating the thesis or summarizing the main points but providing a fresh perspective that
ties everything together.
The challenge lies in striking the right balance between brevity and completeness. The conclusion
should be concise yet comprehensive, leaving no loose ends while avoiding unnecessary
repetition. Crafting a memorable closing statement that resonates with the reader requires finesse,
as it should leave a lasting impact and evoke a sense of closure.
Moreover, addressing potential counterarguments or acknowledging the limitations of the essay
adds another layer of complexity. A well-rounded conclusion should not shy away from
acknowledging the broader context or potential areas for further exploration, demonstrating
intellectual honesty and a nuanced understanding of the topic.
The difficulty intensifies when attempting to infuse creativity into the conclusion. Striking the
right tone, whether it be inspirational, thought-provoking, or even challenging, can elevate the
essay to a higher level. However, it's a delicate balance that requires a deep understanding of the
audience and the overall tone of the essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on crafting essay conclusions presents a multifaceted challenge. It
demands a careful balance between summarization and synthesis, brevity and completeness, and
creativity and clarity. Successfully navigating these challenges ensures that the conclusion not
only wraps up the essay but leaves a lasting impression on the reader, making it a task that
requires both skill and artistry.

Women Struggles in History In her Novel, Southland, 2003, Nina Revoyr captures
the struggles that women, especially those of the Asian American descent, have
navigated through history. The novel provides interesting material on many fronts
including aspects such as sexuality, multiracial and multigenerational family saga.
The book is based upon three women characters with the main protagonist being a
young Japanese American woman by the name of Jackie Ishida a 25 year old law
student in her last semester, her aunt Lois and her lesbian lover Laura, an African
American woman. These three women in the book represent different aspects of
women s struggles and the issues they have to confront in their day to day living.
Southland presents the picture a young Asian Americanwoman in her quest of trying
to find out her true history and identity and which has exposed her to the larger
world. In trying to resolve the inheritance issue of his deceased grandfather, Frank
Sakai, Jackie as a character exposes other characters of similar struggles and who
also have varying relationships amongst each other. The purpose of this paper will
be to critically look into the struggles of the three women in the novel and to get
lessons from the lives. The lives and struggles of Jackie and Lois will represent
struggles of Asian American women while that of Laura will

Is Harm Reduction a Desirable National Drug Control Policy Goal?
There are many differing viewpoints in the United States when dealing with drug
policy. Within the political arena, drug policy is a platform that many politicians base
their entire campaigns upon, thus showing its importance to our society in general.
Some of these modes within which drug policy is studied are in terms of harm
reduction, and supply reduction. When studying the harmful effects of drugs, we
must first to attempt to determine if drug abuse harms on an individual level of if it
is a major cause of many societal problems that we face today. In drawing a
preliminary conclusion to this question we are then able to outline the avenues of
approach in dealing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those that are opposed to harm reduction feel that its advocates are hypocrites that
call for tougher policies in dealing with alcohol and tobacco yet in the same breath
call for reductions in the penalties for illegal drug use. Opponents also believe that
initiating a harm reduction policy may in fact increase the use of illegal drugs as
well as the people that are seeking drug treatment. Robert J. MacCoun, is an
associate professor in the Graduate School of Public policy at the University of
California and author of Toward a Psychology of Harm Reduction. Professor
MacCoun also supports the movement towards a harm reduction approach to drugs.
He explains how the harm reduction movement emerged in Amsterdam in the 1980
s in response to mounting heath issues directly related to the use of drugs.
Professor MacCoun illustrates that harm reduction is not a program that has been
proven effective in the war on drugs, being constantly rejected as a viable option to
present drug enforcement policy by the United States government. Professor
MacCoun illustrates however that the policies that the U.S. presently has in place
has failed in its ability to eliminate drug use thus causing the major harms of drug
use in place. Professor MacCoun believes that many of the drug related problems we
have today are a result of poor legislation as well as the
Essay Comparing Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf
Kraki
Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki
There are so many similarities between the hero of the poem Beowulf and The Saga
of King Hrolf Kraki, an Iceland saga representing 1000 years of oral traditions prior
to the 1300 s when it was written, that these similarities cannot be attributed solely to
coincidence.
The Cambridge History of English and American Literature states that the hero of the
poem, Beowulf himself, may be the same person as Bodvar Biarki, the chief of
Hrolfr Kraki s knights (v1, ch3, s3, n13). George Clark in The Hero and the Theme
mentions: The form of Beowulf taken as a whole suggests both the Bear s Son
folktale type (especially as we find it in Scandinavia) and the combat myth . . . . (286).

When King Hring took sick and died, Bodvar became ruler of the kingdom; when
Heardred was killed in battle, Beowulf became king. Bodvar thought of others
first; he found support for his mother before leaving his people; Beowulf likewise
placed the concerns of others before his own, putting his life in jeopardy in order to
satisfy a family debt to King Hrothgar for paying wergild for the hero s father s
indiscretion as a young man.
Bodvar leaves Gautland to travel to the kingdom of the Danes; Beowulf leaves
Geatland to travel to the kingdom of the Danes. Bodvar goes to King Hrolf, widely
known for his generosity, magnificence and courage; Beowulf goes to King

My Trip On The California Health Care Facility Essay
For my discovery event, I went on a tour of The California Health Care Facility in
Stockton. I selected this event because I was very curious to know what it was like
to work in a prison setting. My desire for future work settings has been between a
nursing facility and prison facility. Before the visit I expected to know how a group
was done in lower level prison and the safetyprecautions implemented. The facility
tour was lead by CTRS John Widenmann and Gaganjot Singh. The first thing we
toured was there medical mall building where all the prisons went to thee
appointments for physical therapyoccupational therapy, dentist, diagnostics, x rays
and medical needs. John told us that some inmates walk with out a guard because
they have a card to specify where there suppose to be. If they refuse to go to there
appointment than force is used too make them. Along the tour he mentioned that
the rec therapists sees the inmate five time more in a week than other members of
a treatment team. We were able to visit a facilitation room, which had a class for
inmates to do artwork. One of the CTRS on staff mentioned that it is hard to have
supplies for the art projects. After touring the medical facilities, we walked a long
way to the prison area, dorm area and workspace where the recreation therapist ran
groups. John showed us their offices that over looked the play yard for some
prisoners. This can be good for therapist to observe behaviors and actions of the
inmatesoutside
El Paso City Attractions

the city. A great central attraction , many would say. I remember watching the news

something new coming our way, having something to do in this boring city, as
many would say of El Paso. Construction started on May 30th of 2013, and a few
days before El Paso City Hall had been demolished by implosion. I remember a lot
of people from the community gathered up to see the explosion. It is a baseball
field park, called Southwest University Park Stadium, the city s newest attraction.
It has been opened since April 28th 2014 at the heart of the city, downtown El
Paso, and is located on 1 Ballpark Plaza. Currently identified as one of the bests. A
lot of people were doubtful about the outcome. A great amount of people agreed and
were happy about the decision. The skeptical were finally pushed into the decision. I
am certain that it has been a great investment. The construction did start in May 30th
of 2013; the total cost was 72 million dollars. It is now, home for El Paso

matters is what fans think of the Ball Park, Reichard said, author of 2014 Best New

nearly 75% of its games and ended up attracting 548,435 fans for the whole season.

The D, M, and E are constant within the same subject, therefore differences in the
plasma concentration (= the therapeutic effect) are due to differences in the amount
of drug absorbed, or in other words depends on the delivery of drug from its
formulation. Thus, the therapeutic effect depends on the bioavailability (BA) of the
drug product, and therefore bioequivalence means therapeutic equivalence. Before
discussing bioequivalent of a product, we will п¬Ѓrst discuss what is bioequivalence
(BE), therapeutic equivalence (TE), main products requiring BE, as well as design
and conduct of BE studies in general. What is bioequivalence (BE)1. There are some
definitions. Bioavailability (BA) is the amount of drug, in percentage of dose,
which is absorbed and reaches the systemic circulation (bioavailable) in unchanged

Spj Approach To Violence Risk Assessment
In the past decade the structured professional judgement (SPJ) approach to violence
risk assessment and management has developed with an emphasis on systematic
evidence based guidance for evaluating the presence of specific types of individual
risk factor and developing responses to the overall profile which is identified. SPJ risk
assessment tools are protocols containing empirically based static and dynamic risk
factors for an individual, which are carefully interpreted by trained mental health
professionals in order to arrive at a well informed final judgment of violence risk
(Douglas, Blanchard, Hendry, 2013). Risk assessmenthas traditionally tended to focus

community, found significant differences between the two groups. Those discharged
to prison scored higher on the HCR 20 v3 on measures of risk and lower on
protective factors measured by SAPROF than those discharged in
Marx Vs Mill
FINAL PAPER
Prevailing as the dominant social system, feudalism served as a precursor for
modern capitalism. Philosopher Karl Marx notes that as feudalism developed a class
system in which the aristocracy reigned supreme over peasants, individuals held
limited powers in making decisions. While capitalism grants people the freedoms to
determine where and for whom they work, Marx asserts that such individuals risk
relinquishing attachments to one s sense of self. Thus, Marx proposed his theory of
alienation, in which he feared that modern means of production may deny man full
possession over ones labor. Asserting that people affirm their sense of identity as it
relates to their work, I reject Marx s belief that man s sense of disaffection with ...

While critics claim that all people are innately selfish, I contend that people s moral
code is developed by the deceptive illusions they are conditioned to adhere to as
children. In accordance with Freud, such illusions act as an infantile neurosis, in
which signs of neurotic pathology exhibited during childhood result in psychological
problems in ones adult life. In efforts to uncover the effects of children s fantasy
beliefs on memory, researchers Gabrielle Principe and Eric Smith gathered five and
six year old participants bearing varying degrees of belief on the Tooth Fairy. Firstly,
children were instructed to recall their latest experience of losing a tooth either
truthfully, or in an entertaining style. Researchers found that participants whom
believed in the Tooth Fairy reported more fabricated stories, while those whom had
realized the myth, described more realistic encounters. Further, Principe and Smith
found that the degree to which children accede to the fantastic phenomena, directly
correlates to recall errors made in accordance with ones individual beliefs and
fantasies. Essentially, as memories are products of human experiences, the inability to
accurately recall stories highlights the desistance between ones true self and the
realities created by illusions. Thus, the presentation of illusions upon impressionable
youths hinders children s
Helicobacter Peptic Ulcer Disease
As there are many causes of peptic ulcer disease, the number one causative agent is
a Helicobacter pylori infection. This spiral shaped bacterium was known as far back
as 1875. It was discovered that this bacteria inhabited the lining of the human stomach
by German scientists. Unfortunately it was impossible to culture at the time so it fell
by the wayside and was forgotten ( Hardy, J ). It wasn t until 1979 that an Australian
pathologist Robin Warren noticed that many of his patients who were suffering from
gastric ulcers had mysterious bacteriaclinging to the tissues of his biopsy specimens.
He alongside with his associate physician Barry Marshall, worked endlessly to
culture what they saw under the microscope. It was by accident in 1982 that they left
their cultures incubating over a five day span and what they discovered upon
returning was a turning point in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease. There were
growing colonies of what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was an amazing discovery but it was unfortunately met with a lot of
skepticism in the medical community as it was believed that no bacteria could
survive the hostile environment of the stomach. Discouraged, Dr. Marshall actually
drank a beaker full of the H. pylori in a broth solution. He became very ill days later
and via endoscopy ten days after inoculation he was noted to have gastritis with the
presence of H. pylori in his stomach. This marked the beginning of the belief that
peptic ulcer disease is an infectious disease. Doctors Marshall and Warren went on to
prove that antibiotics are an effective treatment in the management of PUD. It wasn t
until 2005 that Warren and Marshall were awarded the Noble Prize in Medicinefor
their work on H. pylori (Hardy,

Should Obamacare be repealed?
As of now, many Americans have problems with their health care and the two
political parties, the Republicans and the Democrats, are split on the issue. The past
president, Barrack Obama, enacted the Patient Protection and the Affordable Care
Act, commonly called Obamacare, on May 23rd, 2010.
After the first attempt to repeal Obamacare failed, a skinny repeal of Obamacare was
put in place to repeal only parts of Obamacare. This repeal also failed with a Senate
vote of 49 51, not repealing Obamacare.
Although most Americans are not happy with their healthcare, Obamacare should
not be repealed because its repeal would result in coverage loss, prices to rise, and it
would take a step backward in health care rather than solving the main concerns
Americans have about health care.
Although health care is already very expensive in the United States, the result of the
repeal would only raise the premiums more so. If Obamacare were to be repealed,
the individual mandate would follow along with it. The individual mandate is a rule
that everyone has to purchase insurance. Analysts have said that health insurance
would become more expensive and cover fewer people (Sanger Katz 2). With the
influence of the individual mandate, healthy people tend to buy insurance, reducing
the average cost of coverage (Sanger Katz 2). Without the individual mandate, healthy
people would not be buying insurance, causing
How Can Astrology And Horoscope Predictions Are
Supposed...
Scientists examine how the world works by making observations, taking
measurements, and testing whether their ideas are supported by evidence. We pay
attention to what is happening around us and try to understand it. When we think we
understand how two things relate to each other, we design an experiment. In this
paper, I m going to talk about whether astrologyand horoscope predictions are
supposed to be accurate. There are a number of people in our society who put some
faith in astrology. Astrology is the study of the movements and relative positions of
celestial objects as a means for divining information about human affairs and
terrestrial events, and horoscope is based on the Ptolemaic system that the earth is
stationary, and moves around the sun in fixed patterns. Astrology divides the sky into
twelve sections, with the different sign of the zodiac based on the mythological
characteristics of the heavenly bodies (Aries, Leo, Aquarius, Cancer, Taurus, Virgo,
Libra, Pisces, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Gemini, and Scorpio). Some astrologers believe
that time of birth, especially the hours and minutes, is... Show more content on

A common claim is that horoscopic astrology make the pre assumption that our mind
is connected to the universe and read important characteristics about a person.
Therefore, astrologists believe that a person s behavior, emotions, and fate were
heavily influenced by the month of that person s birth. Most people reads a
prediction that something interesting would happen, they will looking forward for
that to happen, somehow they have a convenience then that event is on the way. By
this cased, they might think that the predicted of astrology was true. This may be a
little harsh because horoscopes might be of some value if they were usually right or
pretty close even they are not quite perfect, but you probably even know someone
who has told you about how perfect their horoscope matched what happened to them
Canad The World s Oldest History
The world and its features we see surrounding us today have not been the same
throughout all of time . A lot of people believe that the way the Earth looks today is
the way it has looked since the beginning. This belief is far from true. The Earth has
a history that has evolved over time just like everything else. We can view the history
by examining the Earths crust in areas. The region of the Earth that is presently
known as Canada has the world s oldest history which makes it unique. Throughout

The shield that is located in Canada is the most famous shield because it is the
oldest. The shield is the only area of rock that is as old as the Earth itself. This means
that the rock formations located within the shield are 4.6 billion years old. No other
area of the Earth s crust is this old because of the rock cycle. The rock cycle basically
recycles the existing crust and turns it into new crust. This process starts with areas
that are known as subduction zones. These subduction zones consist of one tectonic
plate submerging underneath another tectonic plate. As the plate becomes subducted
from tectonic movement, it breaks down and turns into magma. In some situations
the crust that has now been turned into magma relocates to an area known as a hot
spot. Hot spots are areas underneath the surface of the Earth that are filled with
magma. As the pressure in these hot spots rises, the magma begins to work its way
upward until it reaches the surface and forms new crust. This event usually takes
place in the ocean which results in the formation of new oceanic crust. As time goes
on this oceanic crust moves closer to the continents, then eventually becomes
continental crust. As even more time passes, the continental crust begins to move
upward forming what we know today as mountain ranges. Once the mountain ranges
are formed, the cycle starts over because the mountains begin to erode and eventually

Pest Analysis Of Lily s Kitchen
PEST analysis exists as the macro environmental factors that will impact the industry
s ability to provide the products offered to its underlying customers. Controlling
factors, such as threats and opportunities is challenging, since they have an effect on
the business, as well as outside it (Cork, 2016). A proper understanding of the macro
environment of Lily s Kitchen is vital since the managers are able to effectively
forecast the market trends and greatly take the advantages of the underlying
opportunities while minimizing threat through adjustment of its operating strategies
(Cork, 2016). Therefore, the determination of the factors affecting the firm s internal
operational factors such as demand, supply levels and cost is essential. Hence, PEST
analysis is a beneficial tool to understand the whole environmental trends in which the
enterprise is operating (Cork, 2016). Based on PEST analysis that influences Lily s
Kitchen operations, political aspects involve government formulated policies,
taxation, laws, tariffs, and trade restrictions. The economic components involve
changes that occur in a wider business environment, such as economic growth,
interest rates, inflation, exchange rates and disposable income amongst other factors
(Cork, 2016). The Social culture aspects involve age distribution, social welfare,
demographic nature, and rate of population growth, lifestyle changes, and consumer
buying habits. Lastly, the technological factors are associated with the
Effects Of Cocaine And Its Effects On America
Devastating Effects of Cocaine
To understand the devastating effects of cocaine one needs to understand its
history and how it became one of the most potent drugs in today s society. Cocaine
is extracted from the coca leaves and is one of the oldest and natural stimulants.
Ancient Incas and native Peruvians chewed cocas leaves for religious ceremonies
and to counter the effects of living in thin mountain air and air sickness prevention.
To this day Peruvian markets sell coca products, from teas, soft drinks, cocktails and
candy; its use is accepted and is an integral part of their culture and way of life. So
the question one must ask is when did this natural product become a notorious drug
that is abused by many?

went on to state, the effects of one addiction would not be replaced by another
(Markel, 1360). In 1886, cocaine gained popularity and a further boost when John
Pemberton included coca leaves as an ingredient in his new soft drink, Coca Cola
and by the turn of the century the euphoric drink was popular for its advertised
claim to its energizing effects on the consumer, it relieves exhaustion...you will be
surprised how quickly it will ease the Tired Brain soothe the Rattled Nerves and
restore wasted energy to both Mindy and Body. (DEAmuseaum.org, 2015). Helping
to skyrocket the popularity of Coca Cola soft drink and grow consumer demand.
From the 1850s to the early 1900s, cocaine and opium laced elixirs were largely
used by people of all social classes. Prominent figures, such as Thomas Edison and
movie stars; promoted the miraculous effects of cocaine tonics and elixirs. Notably
the drug became popular in the silent film industry and the pro cocaine messages
coming out in films at that time influenced millions. Its reputation increased thru the
years and as its abuse increased and with it so did fatalities, resulting in United
Horror Theatrical Show The Woman In Black
The Woman in Black The Woman in Black is one of the few truly horror theatrical
shows that has continued to terrify audiences over the years. There are many
interpretations of this show, but every single version leaves the audience feeling
uneasy with the sense to stay awake that night. This show was made to make the
audience feel the terror that these men felt during the initial time of the event
through the lighting choices and the acting. In the end during the talkback, the
director and actors wouldn t admit that there was a woman in black that appeared
in the show. This follows along with the ending of the show where one sees her
while the other doesn t know what she is talking about. This added to the thrill
factor. What the audience doesn t know for certain that can be afraid of. It is easier to

In natural human states, people are afraid of what they can t see. This became
apparent in the show every time there was a lighting change. With the theatre first
appearing as bright bringing the audience into it as a part of the show it made it
easier for them to draw the audience members further into the story. Dim lighting is
the key to making someone believe that there is something there that isn t actually
there. The moments where the woman in black appeared usually had a dimmer
light that never truly revealed all aspects of her. Sometimes it was a spot on one of
the actors or just general lower lights. This influenced what was actually being seen.
Was she actually there or not? That is what this lighting allowed the audience s mind
to go to.Every time the lights blacked out, making it so that there was nothing at all
to see, the tension of the room increased. This brought each audience member closer
to the action and the feelings of Mr. Kipps and the Actor. They didn t know what was
going on and neither did the
The One Child Policy in China
In 1979, China decided to establish a one child policy which states that couples are
only allowed to have one child, unless they meet certain exceptions[1].In order to
understand what social impacts the one child policy has created in China it
important to evaluate the history of this law. China s decision to implement a Child
policy has caused possible corruption, an abuse of women s rights, has led to high
rates of female feticide, has created a gender ratio problem for China, and has led to
specific problems associated with both the elderly and younger generation. Finally, an
assessment of why China s one child policy is important to the United Statesallows
for a full evaluation of the policy.
Background Information about the One ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
China s one child policy means different things for different categories of citizens.
The rich see the law as a paper tiger whereas the poor see the law as a flesh and
blood tiger with claws [9]. The term paper tiger refers to something that seems
threatening on paper, but in reality is unable to withstand challenge. An example of
this paper tiger is that for an increasing number of Chinese citizens, the fine is no
longer a deterrent. A financially secure couple will not have a problem paying the
social compensation fee associated with a second child. These rich families can also
travel to foreign countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore, or the United States to
give birth to avoid the fee. For example, Zhang Yimou, a popular Chinese film
director, was fined [10] approximately $1.24 million for fathering additional three
children. The fine had little to no impact on his life. In contrast to their wealthy
counterparts, the poor population suffers from this policy. Farmers in rural areas are
impacted the most because these families need additional children to labor on the
farm. However, it is nearly impossible for these families to have more than one child
because they cannot afford the fines[11].The government has encouraged the poor
population to criticize the wealthy Chinese that are
The Weak Theory Of Advertising
Advertising
Advertising persuade buyers to buy the brand (Moriatry et al, 2015). The proponents
of weak theory of advertising, Ehrenberg and Goodhart, 1977 suggested
advertisements reinforce consumers habit of brand usage and selective perceptions
allow buyers to watch the relevant advertisements before taking purchase decision.
Advertisements emphasize and sometimes nudge consumers for repeat purchase
(Ehrenberg and Barnard, 1997). Contrarily, Strong theory of advertising indicates that
advertising influences consumer s perception and persuades customers to buy the
product once then repeatedly (Moriatry et al, 2015). One of the most popular strong
theories of advertisings are Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM). According to
(Petty and Cacioppo, 1986) ELM explains how a persuasive message can diversify
the attitude of the receiver through two routes: central route and peripheral route.
They propagated in central route the receiver considers of message arguments

Brand awareness means the salience of the brand in the customer s mind which
includes: recognition, recall, top of mind (Keller, 1993, Aaker, 1996) brand
dominance, brand opinion, brand knowledge (Aaker, 1995). Recognition works
effectively for a completely new or unknown brand whereas recall and top of mind
are effective for well known brands (Aaker, 1996). Keller, 1993 found that
advertising enables brand recall which brings marketing and advertising success

The Vegetarian Diet And The Vegetarian Diet
Exercise is any type of functional movement of the human body that strengthen or
maintain wellness, fitness, and health. Examples of exercise include swimming,
biking, walking, jogging, strength training, and much more functional movements.
Exercise is associated with wellness, fitness, and health due to the impact it has on
the human body, helping the body to lower risks of illnesses and diseases, gain muscle
mass, and improve the body s chemical and mechanical systems. Exercise is a great
way to keep the human body in great condition, but what about dieting? The
vegetarian diet and the standard american diet today may have some effects on the
way exercise take effect on the human body.
The vegetarian diet is a diet that contains food that comes plants which include the
following: fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, grains, and seeds. If balanced properly,
the vegetarian diet can be a really healthy diet and can be combined with exercise to
strengthen and to improve the human body. The vegetarian diet can also be unhealthy
and detrimental to the human body if it is not balanced properly. With the vegetarian
diet, it is very important to consume the right amount of nutrients to prevent
malnutrition. Overall, the vegetarian diet may not be the proper diet for the
exercising adult due to large amounts of food that will be needed to maintain the
proper nutrition.
The standard american diet today had changed drastically throughout the years. The
diet is highest in meat, dairy,
Los Angeles Earthquake Report
The latest research results are showing an increased probability for the Los Angeles
area to be hit by a magnitude of eight or higher earthquake. According to Oskin

Angeles poses the greatest risk over the next 30 years, the researchers said . This
hypothetical scenario describes the possible result of a magnitude of 8 or larger

sudden changes resident would have to deal with in their everyday life and the
likelihood of emerging communicable diseases in the area. Furthermore, I have
included a short report for local authorities to hep to prevent the situation getting

As a result, life for tens of thousands of people changed forever. After the initial

Suicide Prevention For The Kern County Mental Health
Hotline
My family and friends don t quite understand my motivations to become a mental
health counselor. Personally, I can think of nothing more rewarding than helping
people through dark times and giving hope for a brighter future. Deep down, I m an
idealist with enough life experience to pepper my expectations. There are countless
possible research topics within the mental health field, but I ve recently developed a
deep appreciation of suicideprevention since volunteering for the Kern County
Mental Health Hotline. I ve also become acutely aware of the relationship between
suicide and mooddisorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder. According to
the CDC, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people aged 15 34 years
old, and the 10th leading cause of death overall. An estimated 90% of those who
have died by suicide suffered from mental illness. That makes mental illness the
top risk factor (NAMI, 2016). I was able to find these statistics quite readily, but I
couldn t find anything relating specifically to mood disorders. Since I am not sure
of what type of research already exists on the subject matter, a literature review
would be the perfect place to start. Not only would a review help verify that this is
direction of research has potential, it would help to develop my understanding of
the topic. If I do find that work has been done on the topic, I could narrow my scope
to focus on points not previously covered. If I review the preexisting work and
Frankenstein Nature As Medicine
Jaz Schultz Mr. Berens Great Books Hour 6 1 November 2017 Nature As Medicine In
the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the self reliance, spirituality and
individuality that Victor Frankenstein finds in nature shows the relation of nature and
the human feeling; when one finds himself in nature, he is restored mentally,
physically and spiritually. In the beginning of Victor s life he is described with
naturalistic metaphors and other analogies in order to give the reader a better
understanding of the connection Victor has with the environment. When Victor is
mourning his friends and family, he frequently avoids humanity and attempts to find
health and relaxation in nature. Victor takes sustenance from nature, and it becomes

He compares his life to the course or current of the river, and as the river flows into
sharp rocks, his life flows into misfortune. This metaphor of the mountain river
shows the relation of nature and human feeling. The metaphor used to relate Victor s
feelings and experience is a natural setting rather than intellectual description or by
dialogue with other characters. This displays the romanticism and attractive image
of a swelling mountain stream. The most important uses of nature are found after
William and Justine are killed by Victor s creation. His brother, William s death
really strongly disturbs Victor and he falls into a profound gloom. His depressed
state prohibits him from finding help or comfort from Henry, his close friend. Victor
travels through nature to Geneva to find his family in hope of relief and restfulness,
but it is the nature he encounters along the way that rebuilds him: I remained two
days at Lausanne, in this painful state of mind. I contemplated the lake: the waters
were placid; all around was calm, and the snowy mountains, the palaces of nature,
were not changed. By degrees the calm and heavenly scene restored me, and I
continued my journey towards Geneva. ... Dear mountains! My own beautiful
lake!...Your summits are clear; the sky and lake are blue and placid. (Shelley, 47).
Victor s attitude toward the earth and nature that is visible throughout the story shows
how only nature can heal and strengthen Victor s health.
Discrimination And Racism In The United States
Discrimination and racism impacts everyone in the U.S. in some way, shape or form.
It can have harmful psychological impacts on those who are directly affected
especially if the situation becomes traumatizing. Several studies surrounding
discrimination have shown an increase in both physical and psychological problems.
According to two journals, those affected run the risk of developing depression, the
common cold, hypertension, breast cancer and cardiovascular disease, among other
things (Takeuchi, Williams, 2013). It is apparent to see that discrimination, racism,
social interaction and health, are persistently correlated with one another.
To add more value to the subject of discrimination, there are theories like the social

More studies confirm that individuals who are stressed out will likely use
cigarettes or alcoholic beverages to cope with the stress. This may result in
substance abuse and can continue escalating into more serious or dangerous
habits. This could also be, theoretically, why blacks are often attributed with drugs,
alcohol and illegal substances. Discrimination causes stress and those who are
affected will likely experience some sort of psychological effect. As I talked about
earlier, the film Crash raised the issue of how discrimination affected almost all
races except whites. Whites received the least discrimination and it is likely because
they are wealthier, more powerful and have different social identities and social roles
than the rest. Muslims in the film were discriminated because of terrorists who seem
to originate in Arabic countries. Blacks received discrimination because of all blacks
are criminals
Supernatural Experiences And Gender Discrimination. Ana
Supernatural experiences and gender discrimination. Ana Castillo s So Far From
God (1993) has many instances of magical realism within it. Political messages can
be interpreted through the novel s use of this magical realism. Several instances of
patriarchy within Latino culture set the stage for women to move beyond genderroles
within this novel. I interpreted the use of magical realism to be used as a symbol for
womanto move beyond patriarchy to find independence and identity. What does this
say about the status of women (in terms of gender roles) within this novel s Latino
culture? Are they free to live their lives through gender discrimination? Through the

She is too constrained as a woman. Regardless of the actual cause of death, I
interpreted her disappearance as an outlet to finding herself (liberation). Her death
signifies that there was void that could not be filled in the real reality. She is
liberated to another world through her mysterious death . Because these deaths
are not voluntary, the message sent from Castillo to the reader is not the lengths
that these women go through to reach that freedom and liberation, rather, it is that
it took an unexpected accident for these women to be removed from an unhappy
and unfair life, away from reality, to a new one. It is clear to the reader that Castillo
distinguishes reality and magical realism through these unexpected deaths of the
daughters. However, it is La Loca s mysterious death and ceremonial resurrection
that serves as the most important symbol in this novel. I interpreted the scene
where La Loca ascends in the air, as a liberation. Lo Loca never left the house and
was literally stuck inside one place; that Holy Friday was the only occasion...

Salmon Farming Problems
Salmon farming is becoming more and more popular as salmon population
increases. Currently, over half the salmon sold globally is farm raised in Northern
Europe, Chile, Canada, and the United States, and the annual global production of
farmed salmon has risen from 24,000 to over 1 million metric tons during the past
two decades (Hites, pg. 226). Because salmonfarms are so widespread, salmon from
farms in northern Europe, North America, and Chile are now available widely year
round at relatively low prices (Hites, pg. 226). The problems that occur from salmon
farming, mostly come from how they are contained. Most salmon farm use open net
cages in the ocean which helps the salmon move around freely. Complications arise
with these types of containments
Manipulation Of Cloud Mooding
There has been a lot of speculation as to whether people can control the weather or
not. This is a well known conspiracy and is widely thought to be true. Many experts
believe this is true and back it up with factual evidence. Many accounts of weather
manipulation conspiracies are very common in our society and are not far fetched due
to the technology that is present with cloud seeding as a harmful way to manipulate
the weather which inserts artificial chemicals in the ionosphere to create rain,
therefore this is negatively affecting our weather by intensifying storms and
damaging our atmosphere, although governments would like to create rain for crops
to grow and for more water supplies but this is a dangerous and harmful way to
manipulate our environment.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cloud seeding is a way to control the amount of precipitation that clouds produce by
inserting silver iodide into the atmosphere by use of jet aircraft that release these
chemicals. This seems harmless enough, but toxic chemicals are also produced
during cloud seeding procedures. These toxic chemicals can consist of Aluminum,
Barium, Strontium, Arsenic, and other substances that are harmful to humans. There
are artificial clouds along with natural clouds in our atmosphere. These artificial
clouds can affect our atmosphere and release harmful chemicals. The aerial spraying
of toxic substances is denied by the U.S. government and by officials of other nations.
This is untrue because these governments are the people held responsible for the
methods of cloud seeding. They insist that the new clouds that are seen are just
normal jet streams. What is it that the government is trying to hide from the people?

Luther s Exposition On The Fourth Commandment
This paper will have a particular focus on Luther s Large Catechisms with specific
attention towards Luther s exposition on the fourth commandment. The following
will critically analyze this confessional text in light of its historical theological
context and conclude with its contemporary relevance within American social milieu.
In particular, this paper will view Luther s exposition on the fourth commandment
with a pragmatic lens as a means to explore its implications for the American social
structure.
Luther s Large Catechism was written to assist preachers and pastors with Christian
education and to improve upon their fulfillment of their office duties. During the
summer of 1527 Luther and his colleagues at Wittenburg were rudely awakened by
the pastoral leadership climate of the church. Due to the various changes that were
taking place during the Reformation, European society s interest in Christian piety
dramatically increased during the late Medieval Ages. As a result the church
increased the number of rostered Clergy to meet the pastoral demands. However,
most of the clergy had little to no educational background and what theology they did
know came from booklets that assisted them in their pastoral duties. In short, the
church had an overabundance of underequipped clergy who were loosely following
the proper call of their office, and as a result laity were uninformed on Christian
doctrine as well as lacking in effective pastor care. In the introduction to the
Classical Conditioning And Operant Conditioning
In this booklet you will find an overview of all the different approaches to
psychology. This will consist of the key assumptions, examples of the relevant
psychologists and examples of their work, as well as an exploration into the
advantages and disadvantages that some of these approaches possess.
Behaviourism is a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviours are
attained through conditioning. Behaviourists believe conditioning occurs when we
interact with the environment and that the environment we are in determines the way
we respond to a stimulus. The behaviourist approach believes we learn behaviours
through association between response and consequence. For instance, by touching a
hot iron you will feel pain. Therefore, we learn from this, and know not to touch a
hot iron as we associate feeling pain as a consequence of this action. There are two
forms of conditioning within the behaviourist approach; classical conditioning and
operant conditioning. Behaviourists believe that individuals are born without built in
mental content, known as a blank slate and that all behaviours arise from experience
or perception.
Classical conditioning says that we learn behaviours by associating the response to
the stimulus. An example of this can be found from the work of Ivan Pavlov. In the
1890s Pavlov, a Russian physiologist, carried out some experiments with a dogs. He
noticed that when a dog eats food, they salivate: this is an unconditional response to

Social Isolation And Social Capital
Social Isolation and Social Capital The surprising finding of Rankin and Quane does
to an extent show the limits of Putnam s previous research on social isolation because
it does not take into consideration economics and race. Social isolation refers to the
lack of contact or of sustained interaction with individuals and institutions that
represent mainstream society (Wilson qtd Rankin Quane 4). Although, Rankin and
Quane s findings show high levels of engagement among people in poorer
neighborhoods, the findings are not significant enough to change the notion that
social capital is eroding. Putnam refers to social capital as a feature of social
organization such as networks, norms, and social trust that facilitates coordination for
mutual benefit (9). This means that the lack of involvement in the community
decreases social capital and increases social isolation amongst Americans. In this
essay, I will talk about the connections between social isolation, social capital, and
social connection. Social connectedness can be viewed as interaction people have
between their neighbors and their overall surrounding. Some of the examples we will
be looking into is the effect mothers have on social capital, the loss of trust amongst
Americans, lack of network communication, effects that trust, reciprocation, and
obligation have on social isolation and social capital. Social isolation plays a big role
in social capital, social connection, economic status, and race.
Society s Perception Of Abraham Lincoln s Depression
I have a challenge for you. Find me one famous person who does or did not suffer
from some form of a mental disorder or setback. Doesn t it seem like the prevalence
of famous people from celebrities to politicians who suffer from some form of a
mental disorder outweighs the famous people who don t. Think about it. Only ten
percent of the population suffer with depression. However, almost everyone who s
in the spotlight in modern society suffers from a mental setback. Even a lot of
historical figures also suffer from a lot of different mental setbacks. For example,
someone might have an eating disorders, addiction, depression etc all steaming from
untreated depression. Specifically, I will analyze Abraham Lincoln s depression,
depression itself, society s perception of Abraham Lincoln s depression, and ways
society should improve to help those sufferingfrom depression. Depression is a
mental disorder affecting the brain usually caused by a chemical imbalance.
Abraham Lincoln suffered from major depression also referred to as his
melancholy . Society needs to realize that the label of depression doesn t need to
hold you back; rather, it helps propel some people through society s aristocratic
class. Depression is a double edge sword creating self hatred and causes some
people to be overly self critical. On the other hand, the self hatred that it creates
pushes people over the edge to try to change themselves into society perfect person

Daniels et al. (2011) understood that this relationship should not change because
about two thirds of Burger King s restaurants are in the United States, and its U. S.
and Canadian operations accounted for 69 percent of its $ 2.54 billion revenue in
fiscal 2009. Although the company began in 1954 by offering just burgers, fries,
milk shakes, and sodas, the menu has expanded to include breakfast as well as
various chicken, fish, and salad offerings. Nevertheless, burgers remain the mainstay
of the company, and 2007 marked the 50th anniversary of the Whopper sandwich,
which is considered Burger King s signature product (Daniels et al., 2011).
Over time, especially since the company went public, Burger King has taken a more
systematic approach toward restaurant expansion (Alva, 1994). While it still sees
substantial growth opportunities within the United States, he thinks that Burger King
sees the United States as a mature market for fast food, especially for hamburgers,
in comparison with many foreign countries. In looking for new countries to enter,
Burger King looks most favorably at those with large populations (especially of
young people), high consumption of beef, availability of capital to franchisees for

I prefer sitting at a coffee shop to do works or read a favorite book, and sometimes

Or, that, having lots of money, living in a big house, and owning all of the latest

believe that the definition of success is deeply personal and surely will be different

Even if you find yourself listing mostly objective factors, the subjective elements
have a way of tugging at you, don t they? The relationship between the objective
and the subjective is actually complicated and idiosyncratic. Subjective success is
an individual s response to an objective situation. A corporate lawyer may work for
a highly respected firm and have a lavish compensation package, but if her career
falls short of her dream to become a Supreme Court justice, for instance, or if
practicing law seems merely a good way to make a living and doesn t provide an
intellectual buzz, she won t feel successful. (Boris Groysberg and Robin Abrahams).
This is the essence of one of the life s great ironies: Money leads to success. This is
real world logic to say that money has always been a pursuit of man. Apparently,
money is critical in many ways, and to have more money means one can do bags

would I want to go for rich? In sincerity, money gives one far better access to world
class healthcare, good vaccine, and better treatments. If one needs a special leading

offers it. Being rich means one can give his family a better life, plus opportunities

Investigating Potential Sustainable Solutions For Waste Of...
Introduction
This paper aims at investigating potential sustainable solutions for waste of the
West Garforth Township Development Project. It will aim at giving an assessment
of the proposals of how waste will be handled in the area during the construction
phase as well as when the development is in its operational phase. This is to cater
for a population that is projected to increase by approximately 15% 25%. This paper
also aims at assessing the feasibility of the chosen approaches including knock on
effects that would affect different aspects of the development.
Key Planning Objectives
The proposals chosen are aimed more at trying to use waste as a resource that can be
recycled and looking at its disposal as a secondary option to minimize on economic
costs. This will be chosen according to adequacy and effectiveness of the chosen the
proposal. They also aim at creating a system in which the locals will have to take
responsibility for the waste emission during operation of the development project and
provide waste management facilities to meet the needs of the locals. Moreover, to
ensure that the waste is handled in a manner that would neither pollute the
environment nor affect human health in a negative way.
During the construction phase
During this phase the production of waste materials is inevitable. Therefore,
measures should be taken in order to the ensure the minimum waste is produced. This
can be effectively implemented the following;
i). Reducing the waste
Bromoacetanilide Synthesis
a.Discussion of Yields crude, purified, % recovery chemical reasons Synthesis of
Stilbene dibromide The experiment yielded a mass of 0.32g of dibromostilbene
thus a difference of 0.6g from the theoretical resulting in an 85% yield. A result in
less than 100% yield may be due to the solvent used during the filtration process.
The solvent could have dissolved some product and thus resulted in the loss of
product during filtration. Synthesis of Bromoacetanilide In the synthesis of
bromoacetanilide, the crude yield was 0.69g and the purified yield was 0.53g (a
difference of 0.26g from the theoretical and resulting in a 67% yield). The recovery
of the pure product from the initial crystallization was 77%. The less than 100%
yield could have been a result of adding too much hot solvent. Adding too much
would result in a solution that is unsaturated and therefore when cooled, some of the
product remains dissolved in the solvent. This would cause fewer crystals to
recrystallize and decrease the yield. b.Discussion of Physical Properties evidence for

The purpose of recrystallization is purification. Clearly stated by the results, the
method worked. After the second recrystallization, the difference in measured and

recrystallization steps, the melting points were depressed and again, therefore,
indicative of impurities disrupting the crystal
Esi 1020 Cold Rolled Steel
1) Of all the sample materials tested during the lab, the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled Steel
was found to be the strongest. Moreover, between the two samples of AISI 1020
Cold Rolled steel, the sample without the neck was found to be stronger. This was
observed by calculating the ultimate tensile strength for all the samples used during
the experiment. As a result, the higher the ultimate tensile stress the material endured,
the stronger the material was. The ultimate tensile stress calculated for the AISI 1020
Cold Rolled was 563 MPa which was the highest of all. Therefore, concluding that the
AISI 1020 Cold Rolled without a neck region was the strongest material. As for
ductility, the material with most ductility was found to be the thermoplastic polymer
(HDPE). Two tests were conducted on the HDPE samples at different speeds. As a
result, the HDPE sample pulled at lower speed exhibited greater ductility. Ductility
was calculated by obtaining the percent elongation of each material sample. This
correlates with the idea that the material that deforms the most before fracture,
possesses greater ductility. The highest percent elongation obtained was 191,... Show

atomic bonds is that it joins a bulk of metal atoms together. Moreover, their valence
electrons delocalize and form a sea of electrons by the donation of valence electrons
of its electropositive atoms1. As the experiment confirmed, metallic bonds attractive
forces and the bonding bulk of metal atoms give metals great strength. Moreover, its
malleability and easy break of local bonds also make metallic bonds have good
Organizational Structure Of Functional Managers
Organization Structures relates to Project Management Functional managers have
specialties such as engineering and manufacturing. They are usually selected for their
technical expertise and ability to control the day to day operations. Functional
Managers are considered cross functional team and are self directed to assign to a
specific task. This type of managementhave different responsibilities, but all work to
perform the same function of the department. Leadership within functional managers
is essential, it creates and fosters team unity and leadership is always the key to
success. There are a lot of outside pressures involved and the team must have internal
strength and commitment to survive throughout the project life cycle. Matrix
organizational structurereport the functional manager and one or more project
managers. This type of structure represents the middle ground between functional and
project structures. This type of structure is a multi task method where more than one
project is going on and the employees will report to the manager in their department.
Matrix organizational structures can be strong, weak and balanced. In this
organization method, there are a lot of process steps involved and have to be
managed carefully. The matrix organizational structure consist of weak, strong and
balance structure.
Strong organizational structure allows a company to better focus on set of goals
instead of each groups working towards each agenda. This strong

Religion And Teen Views Of Gay Marriage
People who attend church regularly will be more likely to be opposed to homosexual
relations, all else being equal. Religion and views on homosexuality are closely
linked. As Amy Adamczyk and Cassady Pitt note in their research, Shaping attitudes
about homosexuality: The role of religion and cultural context, religion is often seen
as an important predictor of attitudes about homosexuality. The reason for this is
because some people believe views on homosexuality are written into the Bible, and
that this provides evidence with which to justify discrimination against homosexuals.
Therefore, regularly attending church not only implies a strong affiliation and
deeply held beliefs, but constant exposure to these views. Not all religions profess
the same views on homosexuality, but the most popular one, the Catholic Church,
tends to hold negative views on the subject. Albert L. Winseman s paper Religion
Colors Teen Views of Gay Marriage has also looked into this relationship, except this
focuses explicitly on youth views.
Research Design In order to retest this hypothesis, I will be using data from the

people. Specifically, there will be an examination of people s church attendance,
while controlling for educational status and political views to see how church
attendance may be correlated with views on homosexual sex. There will be 1,163
units that will be studied. I will be

main character Mr. Hooper is suffering from his very own wrong doing. In article 1
lines 4 and 5 it states that Individuals could no longer see his kindness or good heart
Which means that his appearance had transitioned because of the veil so he was
looked upon differently. To me It seems as if Mr. Hooper is facing something
unpleasing in his life which why he is concealing himself from others. In line 5 it
also says He opened his most significant sermon by discussing secret sins which
makes the congregation speculate as to what his sin may be. Before he started
wearing the veil, the congregation deeply respected him but after discerning him their
notion of him instantly changed. He took the time to show the congregation that
everyone could be hiding behind confidential sin, but still want to criticize others as

we know that this is a conjecture because no one knows if Mr. Hooper has
committed this act. Numerous say that he might have slept with the young girl
who passed away. They stated that if the covering came off he d probably be
frightened by her glimpse. Also in lines 9 and 10 it states This sort of conduct
would avert him from being able to divulge his sin to his fiancГ©e and to conceal
his mortification from the church and clergy which means that Whatever Mr. Hooper
is facing he didn t want the church or his fiancГ©e to know about which is why he

Replacing Amputated Limbs with Prosthetics
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION Prosthetic limb is an artificial device that is
used to replace the amputated part of the patient s limb. Myo prosthetic limb takes
the signals from the patient s muscles, which are live, to operate the artificial limb
that is being used to replace the amputated part of the arm. Through the mechanical
and electrical technologies applications it tries to copy the movement of the actual
limb. In most cases, the bicep or triceps muscles can be used to retrieve those
signals which are to be processed further through circuitry. Other than that, any
other muscle that is active and can give the slight electrical signal can be used to
process the signal. Myo prosthetic limb comprises of electrical portion, that is the
circuitry, as well as the mechanical portion that is the actuator and gripper. The
signals that are received can be used to actuate the gripper through which any
object can be picked, held and released as per the requirement of the patient.
Multiple prototypes were developed and improved in the previous years. But they
needed few improvements to make them work perfectly. The improvements were
done this year. The signal acquisition and gripper actuation were improved which
resulted in the more efficient response of the limb. The response of the gripper was
greatly improved as well. The overall reliability of the system was increased
significantly and was brought to a level where it could be represented as a product.
The circuitry was
The Machinery Of Freedom By David Friedman
In David Friedman s book, The Machinery of Freedom , he argues for anarcho
capitalism, the theory that believes the state should be abolished because it is
unnecessary and a free market should be put into place. Usually, anarcho capitalism
is defended from one of two views, consequentialist or deontologist. Friedman takes
the consequentialist side believing that it is actually more desirable for the market to
provide law and protection than the state because it gives the people choice to choose
what they believe and competition will promote improvement. Deontologists,
however, believe that any initiation of force is immoral, so they would prefer a law
banning the initiation of force rather than private protection agencies. Despite... Show

A proponent to Friedman s view would support this because consumers have better
information than voters do. It has been seen election after election that politicians
will tell the public what they want to hear in an effort to win, but during their
candidacy they will not fulfill their promises. In an anarcho capitalist society, this
wouldn t happen because when people choose their protection agency they would
be able to look at the company s records of how they handle their other customers
emergencies. From this information they would be able to tell how they would be
treated because companies usually follow the same procedures for every customer.
Politicians, on the other hand, often have to face new problems so voters can only
make an educated guess on what they will do next. Also, it is often difficult to know
how corrupt a politician really is behind the scenes. Therefore, the people participate
in rational ignorance because they know their vote alone won t change the result of
the election, so they don t bother to investigate deeply into each politician. Also, in
an anarcho capitalist society everybody gets to choose which laws they follow by
picking protection agencies and courts with beliefs that align with the person (Bill).
An opponent to anarcho capitalism may respond
Essay On Holocaust Survivors
Although Holocaust survivors suffer greatly due to their experience during the
Holocaust, their children may suffer just as much. Survivors children were often
overexposed to their parent s trauma which in turn traumatized their children. On the
other hand, some children were left in the dark about their parent s experience, which
added to the culture of silence that plagued many Holocaust survivors. Not only
Holocaust survivors suffer from PTSD, but also their children. The second
generations parent s physiological impairments caused their children to suffer from
PTSD like symptoms. Holocaust Survivors often suffer from PTSD like symptoms
such as Experiencing flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, avoidance, evading
the reminders of the traumatic events, feeling emotionally numb, jumpines,
susceptibility to stress, mood swings (including depression),
irritability, hypervigilance and many more. When survivors arrived in America, many
were told to just be happy they re safe, which in tern led to a culture of silence. This
silence heightened survivors sense of isolation because they were... Show more

They often wondered why they survived when so many of their loved ones did not.
Due to their severe mental scarring, the first generation were unable to raise a child
properly or able to give them a loving nurturing home life. This obviously
negatively affected the children in many ways. Children in survivor homes were
also often overvalued and their parents expectations were often far greater than the
children abilities. Many survivors hoped for their children to accomplish more than
what one person could, to make up for all the people who did not have the chance to
fully live their lives. This made those children struggle with their self worth and their
views about their ability to be

  • 1. How To Write Essay Conclusion Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write Essay Conclusion" may initially seem like a straightforward task, but delving into the intricacies of crafting a compelling conclusion can make it more challenging than expected. The conclusion is not merely a summary; it's a synthesis of ideas, a final opportunity to leave a lasting impression on the reader. To begin with, one must carefully review the entire essay to ensure a thorough understanding of the main arguments and key points. Crafting a conclusion requires a reflective approach, contemplating the significance of the discussed ideas and their broader implications. It's not just about restating the thesis or summarizing the main points but providing a fresh perspective that ties everything together. The challenge lies in striking the right balance between brevity and completeness. The conclusion should be concise yet comprehensive, leaving no loose ends while avoiding unnecessary repetition. Crafting a memorable closing statement that resonates with the reader requires finesse, as it should leave a lasting impact and evoke a sense of closure. Moreover, addressing potential counterarguments or acknowledging the limitations of the essay adds another layer of complexity. A well-rounded conclusion should not shy away from acknowledging the broader context or potential areas for further exploration, demonstrating intellectual honesty and a nuanced understanding of the topic. The difficulty intensifies when attempting to infuse creativity into the conclusion. Striking the right tone, whether it be inspirational, thought-provoking, or even challenging, can elevate the essay to a higher level. There are many differing viewpoints in the United States when dealing with drug policy. Within the political arena, drug policy is a platform that many politicians base their entire campaigns upon, thus showing its importance to our society in general. Some of these modes within which drug policy is studied are in terms of harm reduction, and supply reduction. When studying the harmful effects of drugs, we must first to attempt to determine if drug abuse harms on an individual level of if it is a major cause of many societal problems that we face today. In drawing a preliminary conclusion to this question we are then able to outline the avenues of approach in dealing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those that are opposed to harm reduction feel that its advocates are hypocrites that call for tougher policies in dealing with alcohol and tobacco yet in the same breath call for reductions in the penalties for illegal drug use. Opponents also believe that initiating a harm reduction policy may in fact increase the use of illegal drugs as well as the people that are seeking drug treatment. Robert J. MacCoun, is an associate professor in the Graduate School of Public policy at the University of California and author of Toward a Psychology of Harm Reduction. Professor MacCoun also supports the movement towards a harm reduction approach to drugs. He explains how the harm reduction movement emerged in Amsterdam in the 1980 s in response to mounting heath issues directly related to the use of drugs. Professor MacCoun illustrates that harm reduction is not a program that has been proven effective in the war on drugs, being constantly rejected as a viable option to present drug enforcement policy by the United States government. Professor MacCoun illustrates however that the policies that the U.S. presently has in place has failed in its ability to eliminate drug use thus causing the major harms of drug use in place. Professor MacCoun believes that many of the drug related problems we have today are a result of poor legislation as well as the

Essay Comparing Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki There are so many similarities between the hero of the poem Beowulf and The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki, an Iceland saga representing 1000 years of oral traditions prior to the 1300 s when it was written, that these similarities cannot be attributed solely to coincidence. The Cambridge History of English and American Literature states that the hero of the poem, Beowulf himself, may be the same person as Bodvar Biarki, the chief of Hrolfr Kraki s knights (v1, ch3, s3, n13). I selected this event because I was very curious to know what it was like to work in a prison setting. My desire for future work settings has been between a nursing facility and prison facility. Before the visit I expected to know how a group was done in lower level prison and the safetyprecautions implemented. The facility tour was lead by CTRS John Widenmann and Gaganjot Singh. The first thing we toured was there medical mall building where all the prisons went to thee appointments for physical therapyoccupational therapy, dentist, diagnostics, x rays and medical needs. Along the tour he mentioned that the rec therapists sees the inmate five time more in a week than other members of a treatment team. We were able to visit a facilitation room, which had a class for inmates to do artwork. One of the CTRS on staff mentioned that it is hard to have supplies for the art projects. After touring the medical facilities, we walked a long way to the prison area, dorm area and workspace where the recreation therapist ran groups. John showed us their offices that over looked the play yard for some prisoners. This can be good for therapist to observe behaviors and actions of the inmatesoutside

  • 10. Marx Vs Mill FINAL PAPER Prevailing as the dominant social system, feudalism served as a precursor for modern capitalism. Philosopher Karl Marx notes that as feudalism developed a class system in which the aristocracy reigned supreme over peasants, individuals held limited powers in making decisions. While capitalism grants people the freedoms to determine where and for whom they work, Marx asserts that such individuals risk relinquishing attachments to one s sense of self. Thus, Marx proposed his theory of alienation, in which he feared that modern means of production may deny man full possession over ones labor. Asserting that people affirm their sense of identity as it relates to their work, I reject Marx s belief that man s sense of disaffection with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While critics claim that all people are innately selfish, I contend that people s moral code is developed by the deceptive illusions they are conditioned to adhere to as children. In accordance with Freud, such illusions act as an infantile neurosis, in which signs of neurotic pathology exhibited during childhood result in psychological problems in ones adult life. In efforts to uncover the effects of children s fantasy beliefs on memory, researchers Gabrielle Principe and Eric Smith gathered five and six year old participants bearing varying degrees of belief on the Tooth Fairy. Firstly, children were instructed to recall their latest experience of losing a tooth either truthfully, or in an entertaining style. Researchers found that participants whom believed in the Tooth Fairy reported more fabricated stories, while those whom had realized the myth, described more realistic encounters. Further, Principe and Smith found that the degree to which children accede to the fantastic phenomena, directly correlates to recall errors made in accordance with ones individual beliefs and fantasies. Essentially, as memories are products of human experiences, the inability to accurately recall stories highlights the desistance between ones true self and the realities created by illusions. Thus, the presentation of illusions upon impressionable youths hinders children s

This spiral shaped bacterium was known as far back as 1875. It was discovered that this bacteria inhabited the lining of the human stomach by German scientists. Unfortunately it was impossible to culture at the time so it fell by the wayside and was forgotten ( Hardy, J ). It wasn t until 1979 that an Australian pathologist Robin Warren noticed that many of his patients who were suffering from gastric ulcers had mysterious bacteriaclinging to the tissues of his biopsy specimens. He alongside with his associate physician Barry Marshall, worked endlessly to culture what they saw under the microscope. As of now, many Americans have problems with their health care and the two political parties, the Republicans and the Democrats, are split on the issue. The past president, Barrack Obama, enacted the Patient Protection and the Affordable Care Act, commonly called Obamacare, on May 23rd, 2010. After the first attempt to repeal Obamacare failed, a skinny repeal of Obamacare was put in place to repeal only parts of Obamacare. This repeal also failed with a Senate vote of 49 51, not repealing Obamacare. Although most Americans are not happy with their healthcare, Obamacare should not be repealed because its repeal would result in coverage loss, prices to rise, and it would take a step backward in health care rather than solving the main concerns Americans have about health care. Although health care is already very expensive in the United States, the result of the repeal would only raise the premiums more so. If Obamacare were to be repealed, the individual mandate would follow along with it. The individual mandate is a rule that everyone has to purchase insurance. Analysts have said that health insurance would become more expensive and cover fewer people (Sanger Katz 2). With the influence of the individual mandate, healthy people tend to buy insurance, reducing the average cost of coverage (Sanger Katz 2). Without the individual mandate, healthy people would not be buying insurance, causing

Scientists examine how the world works by making observations, taking measurements, and testing whether their ideas are supported by evidence. We pay attention to what is happening around us and try to understand it. When we think we understand how two things relate to each other, we design an experiment. In this paper, I m going to talk about whether astrologyand horoscope predictions are supposed to be accurate. There are a number of people in our society who put some faith in astrology. Astrology is the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial objects as a means for divining information about human affairs and terrestrial events, and horoscope is based on the Ptolemaic system that the earth is stationary, and moves around the sun in fixed patterns. Astrology divides the sky into twelve sections, with the different sign of the zodiac based on the mythological characteristics of the heavenly bodies (Aries, Leo, Aquarius, Cancer, Taurus, Virgo, Libra, Pisces, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Gemini, and Scorpio). The shield is the only area of rock that is as old as the Earth itself. This means that the rock formations located within the shield are 4.6 billion years old. No other area of the Earth s crust is this old because of the rock cycle. The rock cycle basically recycles the existing crust and turns it into new crust. This process starts with areas that are known as subduction zones. These subduction zones consist of one tectonic plate submerging underneath another tectonic plate. As the plate becomes subducted from tectonic movement, it breaks down and turns into magma. In some situations the crust that has now been turned into magma relocates to an area known as a hot spot. Hot spots are areas underneath the surface of the Earth that are filled with magma. As the pressure in these hot spots rises, the magma begins to work its way upward until it reaches the surface and forms new crust. This event usually takes place in the ocean which results in the formation of new oceanic crust. As time goes on this oceanic crust moves closer to the continents, then eventually becomes continental crust. As even more time passes, the continental crust begins to move upward forming what we know today as mountain ranges. Once the mountain ranges are formed, the cycle starts over because the mountains begin to erode and eventually will

This will consist of the key assumptions, examples of the relevant psychologists and examples of their work, as well as an exploration into the advantages and disadvantages that some of these approaches possess. Behaviourism is a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviours are attained through conditioning. Behaviourists believe conditioning occurs when we interact with the environment and that the environment we are in determines the way we respond to a stimulus. The behaviourist approach believes we learn behaviours through association between response and consequence. For instance, by touching a hot iron you will feel pain. Therefore, we learn from this, and know not to touch a hot iron as we associate feeling pain as a consequence of this action. There are two forms of conditioning within the behaviourist approach; classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Behaviourists believe that individuals are born without built in mental content, known as a blank slate and that all behaviours arise from experience or perception. Classical conditioning says that we learn behaviours by associating the response to the stimulus. An example of this can be found from the work of Ivan Pavlov. In the 1890s Pavlov, a Russian physiologist, carried out some experiments with a dogs. He noticed that when a dog eats food, they salivate: this is an unconditional response to an

Social Isolation And Social Capital Social Isolation and Social Capital The surprising finding of Rankin and Quane does to an extent show the limits of Putnam s previous research on social isolation because it does not take into consideration economics and race. Social isolation refers to the lack of contact or of sustained interaction with individuals and institutions that represent mainstream society (Wilson qtd Rankin Quane 4). Although, Rankin and Quane s findings show high levels of engagement among people in poorer neighborhoods, the findings are not significant enough to change the notion that social capital is eroding. Putnam refers to social capital as a feature of social organization such as networks, norms, and social trust that facilitates coordination for mutual benefit (9). This means that the lack of involvement in the community decreases social capital and increases social isolation amongst Americans. In this essay, I will talk about the connections between social isolation, social capital, and social connection. Social connectedness can be viewed as interaction people have between their neighbors and their overall surrounding. Some of the examples we will be looking into is the effect mothers have on social capital, the loss of trust amongst Americans, lack of network communication, effects that trust, reciprocation, and obligation have on social isolation and social capital. Social isolation plays a big role in social capital, social connection, economic status, and race.

Doesn t it seem like the prevalence of famous people from celebrities to politicians who suffer from some form of a mental disorder outweighs the famous people who don t. Think about it. Only ten percent of the population suffer with depression. However, almost everyone who s in the spotlight in modern society suffers from a mental setback. Even a lot of historical figures also suffer from a lot of different mental setbacks. For example, someone might have an eating disorders, addiction, depression etc all steaming from untreated depression. Specifically, I will analyze Abraham Lincoln s depression, depression itself, society s perception of Abraham Lincoln s depression, and ways society should improve to help those sufferingfrom depression. Depression is a mental disorder affecting the brain usually caused by a chemical imbalance. Abraham Lincoln suffered from major depression also referred to as his melancholy . Society needs to realize that the label of depression doesn t need to hold you back; rather, it helps propel some people through society s aristocratic class. Depression is a double edge sword creating self hatred and causes some people to be overly self critical. On the other hand, the self hatred that it creates pushes people over the edge to try to change themselves into society perfect person and, like Lincoln some of

(2011) understood that this relationship should not change because about two thirds of Burger King s restaurants are in the United States, and its U. Although the company began in 1954 by offering just burgers, fries, milk shakes, and sodas, the menu has expanded to include breakfast as well as various chicken, fish, and salad offerings. Nevertheless, burgers remain the mainstay of the company, and 2007 marked the 50th anniversary of the Whopper sandwich, which is considered Burger King s signature product (Daniels et al., 2011). Over time, especially since the company went public, Burger King has taken a more systematic approach toward restaurant expansion (Alva, 1994). While it still sees substantial growth opportunities within the United States, he thinks that Burger King sees the United States as a mature market for fast food, especially for hamburgers, in comparison with many foreign countries. In looking for new countries to enter, Burger King looks most favorably at those with large populations (especially of young people), high consumption of beef, availability of capital to franchisees for growth, a safe pro business

How Success Breaks Down Into Life Thu Hoang Eng 111 03 Karen Hawthorne 2/174/2016 Concept Essay (Final Paper) How Success Breaks Down Into Life I prefer sitting at a coffee shop to do works or read a favorite book, and sometimes taking idly thoughts and wondering myself, How does a rich person define success? Or, that, having lots of money, living in a big house, and owning all of the latest cars, fashions, and technology is the key to happiness, and hence, success ? I believe that the definition of success is deeply personal and surely will be different for every man. I may have lived only nineteen years of the seventy years I might go on to live, however, success is the thing that I am going to carry with throughout my lifelong, and I know it to sufficiently to ... The relationship between the objective and the subjective is actually complicated and idiosyncratic. Subjective success is an individual s response to an objective situation. A corporate lawyer may work for a highly respected firm and have a lavish compensation package, but if her career falls short of her dream to become a Supreme Court justice, for instance, or if practicing law seems merely a good way to make a living and doesn t provide an intellectual buzz, she won t feel successful. (Boris Groysberg and Robin Abrahams). This is the essence of one of the life s great ironies: Money leads to success. This is real world logic to say that money has always been a pursuit of man. Apparently, money is critical in many ways, and to have more money means one can do bags of thing. If I believe I have to choose between being rich and being healthy, why would I want to go for rich? In sincerity, money gives one far better access to world class healthcare, good vaccine, and better treatments. If one needs a special leading edge procedure that s not available where he lives, he can simply fly to a place that offers it. Being rich means one can give his family a better life, plus opportunities that only money can buy. One will have time and resource to travel, meets nearly anyone he wants, and enters in the
  • 34. Investigating Potential Sustainable Solutions For Waste Of... Introduction This paper aims at investigating potential sustainable solutions for waste of the West Garforth Township Development Project. It will aim at giving an assessment of the proposals of how waste will be handled in the area during the construction phase as well as when the development is in its operational phase. This is to cater for a population that is projected to increase by approximately 15% 25%. This paper also aims at assessing the feasibility of the chosen approaches including knock on effects that would affect different aspects of the development. Key Planning Objectives The proposals chosen are aimed more at trying to use waste as a resource that can be recycled and looking at its disposal as a secondary option to minimize on economic costs. This will be chosen according to adequacy and effectiveness of the chosen the proposal. They also aim at creating a system in which the locals will have to take responsibility for the waste emission during operation of the development project and provide waste management facilities to meet the needs of the locals. Moreover, to ensure that the waste is handled in a manner that would neither pollute the environment nor affect human health in a negative way. During the construction phase During this phase the production of waste materials is inevitable. Therefore, measures should be taken in order to the ensure the minimum waste is produced. This can be effectively implemented the following; i). Reducing the waste

Bromoacetanilide Synthesis a.Discussion of Yields crude, purified, % recovery chemical reasons Synthesis of Stilbene dibromide The experiment yielded a mass of 0.32g of dibromostilbene thus a difference of 0.6g from the theoretical resulting in an 85% yield. A result in less than 100% yield may be due to the solvent used during the filtration process. The solvent could have dissolved some product and thus resulted in the loss of product during filtration. Synthesis of Bromoacetanilide In the synthesis of bromoacetanilide, the crude yield was 0.69g and the purified yield was 0.53g (a difference of 0.26g from the theoretical and resulting in a 67% yield). The recovery of the pure product from the initial crystallization was 77%. The less than 100% yield could have been a result of adding too much hot solvent. Adding too much would result in a solution that is unsaturated and therefore when cooled, some of the product remains dissolved in the solvent. This would cause fewer crystals to recrystallize and decrease the yield. b.Discussion of Physical Properties evidence for correct product Synthesis of Stilbene dibromide The measured melting point of experimental dibromostilbene was 228.0 231.0В°C, a slightly depressed value from the theoretical... Moreover, between the two samples of AISI 1020 Cold Rolled steel, the sample without the neck was found to be stronger. This was observed by calculating the ultimate tensile strength for all the samples used during the experiment. As a result, the higher the ultimate tensile stress the material endured, the stronger the material was. The ultimate tensile stress calculated for the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled was 563 MPa which was the highest of all. Therefore, concluding that the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled without a neck region was the strongest material. As for ductility, the material with most ductility was found to be the thermoplastic polymer (HDPE). Two tests were conducted on the HDPE samples at different speeds. As a result, the HDPE sample pulled at lower speed exhibited greater ductility. Ductility was calculated by obtaining the percent elongation of each material sample. This correlates with the idea that the material that deforms the most before fracture, possesses greater ductility. The highest percent elongation obtained was 191,... One specific characteristic of metallic bonds from other primary atomic bonds is that it joins a bulk of metal atoms together. Moreover, their valence electrons delocalize and form a sea of electrons by the donation of valence electrons of its electropositive atoms1. As the experiment confirmed, metallic bonds attractive forces and the bonding bulk of metal atoms give metals great strength. Moreover, its malleability and easy break of local bonds also make metallic bonds have good

They are usually selected for their technical expertise and ability to control the day to day operations. Functional Managers are considered cross functional team and are self directed to assign to a specific task. This type of managementhave different responsibilities, but all work to perform the same function of the department. Leadership within functional managers is essential, it creates and fosters team unity and leadership is always the key to success. There are a lot of outside pressures involved and the team must have internal strength and commitment to survive throughout the project life cycle. Matrix organizational structurereport the functional manager and one or more project managers. This type of structure represents the middle ground between functional and project structures. This type of structure is a multi task method where more than one project is going on and the employees will report to the manager in their department. Matrix organizational structures can be strong, weak and balanced. In this organization method, there are a lot of process steps involved and have to be managed carefully. The matrix organizational structure consist of weak, strong and balance structure. Strong organizational structure allows a company to better focus on set of goals instead of each groups working towards each agenda. This strong

  • 39. Religion And Teen Views Of Gay Marriage People who attend church regularly will be more likely to be opposed to homosexual relations, all else being equal. Religion and views on homosexuality are closely linked. As Amy Adamczyk and Cassady Pitt note in their research, Shaping attitudes about homosexuality: The role of religion and cultural context, religion is often seen as an important predictor of attitudes about homosexuality. The reason for this is because some people believe views on homosexuality are written into the Bible, and that this provides evidence with which to justify discrimination against homosexuals. Therefore, regularly attending church not only implies a strong affiliation and deeply held beliefs, but constant exposure to these views. Not all religions profess the same views on homosexuality, but the most popular one, the Catholic Church, tends to hold negative views on the subject. Albert L. Winseman s paper Religion Colors Teen Views of Gay Marriage has also looked into this relationship, except this focuses explicitly on youth views. • 42. Replacing Amputated Limbs with Prosthetics CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION Prosthetic limb is an artificial device that is used to replace the amputated part of the patient s limb. Myo prosthetic limb takes the signals from the patient s muscles, which are live, to operate the artificial limb that is being used to replace the amputated part of the arm. Through the mechanical and electrical technologies applications it tries to copy the movement of the actual limb. In most cases, the bicep or triceps muscles can be used to retrieve those signals which are to be processed further through circuitry. Other than that, any other muscle that is active and can give the slight electrical signal can be used to process the signal. Myo prosthetic limb comprises of electrical portion, that is the circuitry, as well as the mechanical portion that is the actuator and gripper. The signals that are received can be used to actuate the gripper through which any object can be picked, held and released as per the requirement of the patient. Multiple prototypes were developed and improved in the previous years. But they needed few improvements to make them work perfectly. The improvements were done this year. The signal acquisition and gripper actuation were improved which resulted in the more efficient response of the limb. The response of the gripper was greatly improved as well. The overall reliability of the system was increased significantly and was brought to a level where it could be represented as a product. The circuitry was

The Machinery Of Freedom By David Friedman In David Friedman s book, The Machinery of Freedom , he argues for anarcho capitalism, the theory that believes the state should be abolished because it is unnecessary and a free market should be put into place. Usually, anarcho capitalism is defended from one of two views, consequentialist or deontologist. Friedman takes the consequentialist side believing that it is actually more desirable for the market to provide law and protection than the state because it gives the people choice to choose what they believe and competition will promote improvement. Deontologists, however, believe that any initiation of force is immoral, so they would prefer a law banning the initiation of force rather than private protection agencies. Despite... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A proponent to Friedman s view would support this because consumers have better information than voters do. It has been seen election after election that politicians will tell the public what they want to hear in an effort to win, but during their candidacy they will not fulfill their promises. In an anarcho capitalist society, this wouldn t happen because when people choose their protection agency they would be able to look at the company s records of how they handle their other customers emergencies. From this information they would be able to tell how they would be treated because companies usually follow the same procedures for every customer. Politicians, on the other hand, often have to face new problems so voters can only make an educated guess on what they will do next. Also, it is often difficult to know how corrupt a politician really is behind the scenes. Therefore, the people participate in rational ignorance because they know their vote alone won t change the result of the election, so they don t bother to investigate deeply into each politician. Also, in an anarcho capitalist society everybody gets to choose which laws they follow by picking protection agencies and courts with beliefs that align with the person (Bill). An opponent to anarcho capitalism may respond
