The part the movie creators go wrong about long term memory is that all the short
term memories seem to go into the long term library which is not true because
some short term memories, like phone numbers, are forgotten almost immediately
after use. The long term memory library also had workers in it that deleted the
faded memories most of which are telephone numbers that belonged in short term
memory to begin with and the workers should not have been in the movie because
long term memories are stored in one s brain forever. A second very minor error in
the movie is that right when Riley goes to sleep she enters REM sleep, which does
not happen, the first stage of sleep is Stage 1 NREM (Myers). The movie also
suggests that dreams are just our body replaying the events that occurred the
previous day in a different or distorted way, which is not the case at all because
dreams can be created from a multitude of things. The final thing Inside Out writers
got wrong is their portrayal of the human brain s subconscious. In the movie the
subconscious is just a bunch of Riley s deepest and darkest fears that are all
grouped together in a cave. While this demonstrates the phenomena of chunking,
which is grouping information together, the subconscious does hold a person s

thoughts he or she is not fully aware of, but still influences thinking and decision

July 4th is the day celebrated when America gained declared independence from
Great Britain. It s been celebrated every year as a country since the adoption of the
Declaration of Independence since 1776. In 1852, the 5th of July, Frederick
Douglas was asked to speak in front of northern abolitionists in New York of the
holiday and the subject of independence and freedom. Frederick Douglas would be
the ideal person to speak about freedom. At the time in 1850 s he was an African
Americanman who had gained his freedom from slavery. He had taught himself
how to read and write, which was uncommon for an Africa American to do, during
slave hood. Most slaveholders at this time would want to keep their slaves illiterate.
This was an era where Northern states were just beginning to nurture the idea of
abolition. Being an abolitionist was still dangerous and censored in the south, and
most northerners were just anti slavery, the difference between the two was one
wanted the end of slavery total (abolitionists) and the other just wanted to stop the

The struggle for survival Every society is unique on its own, however during hard
times, most societies end up alike and collapse. In the novel, Lord of The Flies by
William Golding, a relatively large group of British boys are deported from their
homeland and end up lost on an island in the middle of nowhere. The boys suffer
from conflicts with who should take charge and lead the group in a direction of
future rescue. They pick a leader, in which tries to satisfy everyone, however
throughout the story actions lead to consequences and soon the group/society falls
apart. The three main symbols, Piggy s glasses, the conch, and the fire gradually show
the corruption of human beings and civilization. William Golding uses these tools to
create a society bringing everyone together and then causing problems and selfishness
turning most of the group into savages , similar to what would happen during an
apocalypse. The story starts with a crash of an airplane on a remote island, where
a group of British boys between the ages of 6 and 12. With no adults around, the
boys are left to fend for and govern themselves. Things start out okay as the boys
use a conch shell to get everyone to meet ( It s ever so valuable ) (15), and Ralph,
