The Samkhya Darshan philosophy is a dualist system that enumerates and explains 25 fundamental principles or "tattvas" that make up reality. The two ultimate principles are Purusha (consciousness) and Prakriti (nature). Prakriti is the productive and unevolved primordial source of all material creation. It consists of the three gunas (qualities): sattva, rajas, and tamas.
