Unit 7 Enterprise Learning Aim A- Research
This is my short focussed questionnaire for the school show with examples of the
answers I got.
1. Do you think the marketing is clear that this is for a stage production of
Grease?
a. Everyone recognised that it was advertising for Grease and that it
didn’t have the stars of the film anywhere in it so it probably wasn’t
for the film. Not all of the marketing said clearly that it was for a
stage show.
2. Can you tell from the marketing when and where the show is going to be
on?
a. You can tell that it’s going to be on at the Grand Theatre- most
people said that they see lots of different advertising for the Grand so
they would assume that any advertising for a stage show would be
from there. It doesn’t actually clearly say when it will be on.
3. Do you think the design of the marketing is right for the product and do you
think it makes it clear what genre the show is?
a. Everyone agreed with this that it is good marketing for this show.
Everyone agreed that it was obvious what it was for and that
everyone knew enough about Grease anyway to know what it was
like, and even if they didn’t the marketing gave you a very good idea
of what it would be like.
4. Do you think the colour scheme of the marketing and the use of fonts and
logos will work for the target audience?
a. Everyone thought that the marketing was really mainly aimed at
women rather than men – that it was so Pink that somebody must
have deliberately chosen to ignore men and focus on women. They
thought that everything about it made it clear that this was the product
and this is what it was like.
5. Would the marketing make you more or less likely to go and see the show?
a. Everyone said that they didn’t think it would make much difference
for the school show – they would go to see their friends of family in it
rather than because of advertising. Everyone also said that they hadn’t
been to see Grease at the Grand but people who had seen the
marketing said they had thought about it and one said they had looked
up the details but thought it was too expensive.
