On February 10, 2017, I attended Chris Botti s nearly sold out show at the Hilbert
Circle Theater. This was the most brilliant performance I have ever seen. While I
was not familiar with Botti before the show, I had been asked on a date by a guy
from church who was a fan of his work. After having dinner at Oceanaire, we arrived
at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, where women were dressed from casual attire with
black pants to full length ball gowns with mink fur coats, while the men wore suits

In a 2015 survey conducted by The New York Times and CBS News, 71% of
people surveyed believed the minimum wage should be raised to $10.10 (Should
The Federal). The minimum wage has been increased by congress 22 times since
1938 and was last updated to $7.25 on July 24, 2009 (Minimum Wage). 3.3% of
workers in the United Statesget paid the minimum wageor lower (Background of). A
federal minimum wage hike would lower povertylevels, decrease spending on
government assistance, and increase productivity in jobs. If the government raised
the minimum wage, then the amount of people in poverty would decline. The
poverty line in 2015 was $12,331 a year, only 20 percent below a full time
minimum wage worker s annual salary of $15,080 (Should the Federal). As a
result, minimum wage citizens can barely meet their living needs. A study
completed by the National Low Income Housing Coalition in 2015 said that a
worker must earn $15.50 an hour to be able to rent a one bedroom apartment. If
someone needed a two bedroom apartment they would need to earn $19.35 an hour
(Should the Federal). More people would be able to find adequate housing or their
family if minimum wage were to increase. As a result. Less people would be living
on the streets. If the minimum wage was raised to $9 an hour, over 300,000 people

The first sign of air balloons in warfare came from the county of France. The
French army created the Corp d Aerostiers in 1794. These balloons were intended
only to gather information and conducting reconnaissance. They made their debut
during the battles of Charleroi and Fleurus in 1794. The Corps was disbanded
during the conflict that the French were facing in Egypt. 3 On April 19, 1861,
Thaddeus Lowe became the first balloonist to fly over the Atlantic Ocean. Professor
Lowe wanted to prove that the westerly winds could make transatlantic travel

Uncultivated appears a total of four times: twice in each part. Its meaning is not being

around with unknown men, stays out all hours of the night, and employs

When Benedetto Handel advised Gluck that his works had not pleased the public
he traveled to Paris where he was very much influenced by the operas of Jean
Philippe Rameau. From 1755 to 1761 he was in Vienna, where he began reforming
opera along the more dramatic lines suggested in Marcello s Teatro alla moda. Gluck
composed his piece Orfeo ed Euridice in 1762.
In the legend, Orpheus is considered the greatest musician to have ever lived. He
was the son of the God Apollo, the god of the son, music, truth and prophecy.
According to the story, Orpheus wife Euridice was unfortunately bitten by a snake
and killed while trying to escape from Aristaeus, a Shepard, who was overcome by
her beauty and was pursuing her through the woods. When Orpheus learned of
Euridice s death he was grief stricken and sang, he sang a tune so beautiful it
deeply touched everything, living and not living, in all the world and the heavens
above. He descended into Hades, and when he played his song, even managed to
melt Hades cold heart. He was told that he told take Euridice, but only on one
condition, he could not look upon her until they were out of the underworld. As
foreshadowed, Orpheus could not resist looking back before they had fully escaped
the underworld, and he lost her forever along with meeting his own death soon after.
Both operas replace the tragedy of the original myth with something more suiting and

In the early 80 s a new theory garnered acclaim in psychotherapeutic circles. It is
called Narrative therapy and has its roots in a postmodern idea known as
constructivism. Ian Ridgway (2005) defines constructivism this way, Humans create
meaning within social contexts because it is believed either that reality is essentially
without meaning or its true meaning is beyond us. Michael White and David Epston
are the two most prominent figures in the development of Narrative Therapy. White
and Epston recognized a shift in how people construct meaning for their lives and

He also was attracted to Gregory Bateson s ideas about how communication affects
one s interpretation of the world. These circumstances led directly to White s

approach to therapy. Some of Epston s greatest contributions to narrative therapy

Narrative therapists do not adhere to a traditional view of how people behave or
