The Isange One Stop Center in Rwanda provides free, comprehensive services in one location for victims of gender-based violence and child abuse. It aims to reduce the distance victims must travel and risks of tainted evidence. Services are available 24/7 through multi-disciplinary teams. Reporting of abuse increased over 50% since its inception in 2009. Over 8,000 cases have been registered and effectively treated. The center operates through referrals from community policing structures, schools, and local leaders to the police hospital where forensic exams, counseling, legal aid and medical care are provided.
