The document announces the 2014 Round Square Regional Conference for the Americas to take place from January 27-31, 2014 at YMCA Camp Wanakita. The conference theme is "Northern Challenge: What Will You Discover?". Students will participate in a variety of outdoor winter activities and workshops aimed at personal growth, problem solving, communication skills, and identifying personal interests and strengths. There will be keynote speakers discussing the importance of spending time outdoors and persevering to achieve goals.

• Students will experience a variety of outdoor winter activities and participate in
workshops.
• Delegates will leave the conference with stories of adventure and a deeper
understanding of self.

13. Team initiative and trust activities require the group to work together, problem solve,
communicate, encourage one another and think outside of the “box.”

14. Workshops
Students will begin to identify their unique personal
interests and strengths. Further, students will discuss the
challenges inherent to following their “own path.”

15. KEYNOTE SPEAKER
On January 17, 2010, Colin
dipped his toe into the Atlantic
Ocean in St. John’s, NL and
began running west. Over 9
months, he would run the
equivalent of 181 marathons,
spanning 7600 kilometres to
Victoria, BC. Along the way, he
went into 80 schools across the
country and talked to nearly
20,000 students about their time
spent in front of screens –
televisions, video games,
internet and cell phones, in
comparison to their time spent
outside.

16. KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Mark Reilly
Former Canadian National
Volleyball Champion
He started Premier Volleyball over ten
years ago with the concept of introducing
international athletes to youth and
mentoring them on the game of volleyball.
Mark's vision is to help young people reach
their goals through sport. He will be sharing
his story of the many obstacles he had to
overcome to get where he is today and
focussing on the possibilities that sport and
life hold for those who are willing to
persevere.
