2. • This call is addressed to individuals, NGOs,
academic institutions, environmental groups,
artists, and activists who are concerned about the
growing garbage issue in Lebanon and are
motivated to take action to reduce their garbage and
transform it positively.
• Support groups invite individuals to examine /
develop the practical actions that they are currently
doing by themselves in reducing their garbage, and
support each other in adopting new practices and
extending their efforts to be change agents in their
own environments.
• A list of best practices of what people can do by
themselves to reduce their garbage and transform it
positively will be developed/updated/disseminated
along the process.
• NGOs, institutions and artistic groups are to
develop creative approaches in conducting change
towards reducing garbage and transforming it
positively. Examples include: encourage the actions
of the support groups, mobilise recycling project
using communities resources, tackle issues of
consumerism/ excessive packaging/ using plastics
etc. Encourage artistic competitions in recycling etc.
