The Role of Verification and Validation in System Development Life CycleIOSR Journals
Verification and validation (V&V) are important parts of the system development life cycle that help ensure software quality. Verification determines if the product meets requirements, while validation checks if it fulfills its intended purpose. V&V techniques include reviews, testing, and audits at all phases of development. Proper V&V helps deliver high quality software that satisfies client needs on time.
Real estate agents should always meet clients for the first time in the office and pay attention to exits. Agents should not allow clients to ride in their car unless they know them well and should use the buddy system for open houses. For safety, agents should arrive early to open houses, take pictures of clients, insist clients enter first, and create fake emergencies if uncomfortable. Agents should also not leave clients in their blind spot.
An Effective Heuristic Approach for Hiding Sensitive Patterns in DatabasesIOSR Journals
The document presents an algorithm for sanitizing a database to hide sensitive patterns while minimizing changes to the original data. It identifies sensitive transactions containing restrictive patterns to be hidden and sorts them by degree and size. It then selects items with the maximum cover across restrictive patterns and removes them from sensitive transactions, reducing support for the patterns. This process iterates until restrictive pattern support is reduced to 0. The sanitized database combines modified sensitive transactions with unmodified non-sensitive transactions. The algorithm is tested on sample databases to evaluate effectiveness with minimal impact on the original data.
A Protocol to Detect and Kill Orphan Processes in Distributed Computer SystemsIOSR Journals
This document presents a protocol to detect and kill orphan processes in distributed computer systems. The protocol uses a monitor process to log all remote procedure calls (RPCs) to a global log. It sends a token to client processes that made RPCs to determine their status. If a client process is not active, the monitor sends a kill message to servers to terminate orphan processes resulting from that client's RPCs. This allows orphans to be detected and killed immediately at birth, improving on previous approaches that waited until crashed processes rebooted. The protocol handles nested RPCs and maintains data consistency by eliminating unwanted orphan computations.

ODRS: Optimal Data Replication Scheme for Time Efficiency In MANETsIOSR Journals
This document proposes an Optimal Data Replication Scheme (ODRS) to improve data availability, reduce query delay, and increase hit ratio in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). In MANETs, frequent node and link failures can cause network partitions that decrease data access performance. ODRS aims to address this issue through proactive data replication across network partitions. It considers factors like node mobility, power consumption, and resource availability to determine what data to replicate, where to place replicas, and how to access and synchronize replicated data in order to optimize data availability and query efficiency in the dynamic MANET environment. The proposed scheme is evaluated through simulation to validate that it can achieve higher data availability, lower query delay, and increased

The Evolution and Impact of OTT Platforms: A Deep Dive into the Future of Ent...ABHILASH DUTTA
This presentation provides a thorough examination of Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms, focusing on their development and substantial influence on the entertainment industry, with a particular emphasis on the Indian market. We begin with an introduction to OTT platforms, defining them as streaming services that deliver content directly over the internet, bypassing traditional broadcast channels. These platforms offer a variety of content, including movies, TV shows, and original productions, allowing users to access content on-demand across multiple devices. The historical context covers the early days of streaming, starting with Netflix's inception in 1997 as a DVD rental service and its transition to streaming in 2007. The presentation also highlights India's television journey, from the launch of Doordarshan in 1959 to the introduction of Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite television in 2000, which expanded viewing choices and set the stage for the rise of OTT platforms like Big Flix, Ditto TV, Sony LIV, Hotstar, and Netflix. The business models of OTT platforms are explored in detail. Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) models, exemplified by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, offer unlimited content access for a monthly fee. Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) models, like iTunes and Sky Box Office, allow users to pay for individual pieces of content. Advertising-Based Video on Demand (AVOD) models, such as YouTube and Facebook Watch, provide free content supported by advertisements. Hybrid models combine elements of SVOD and AVOD, offering flexibility to cater to diverse audience preferences.
Content acquisition strategies are also discussed, highlighting the dual approach of purchasing broadcasting rights for existing films and TV shows and investing in original content production. This section underscores the importance of a robust content library in attracting and retaining subscribers. The presentation addresses the challenges faced by OTT platforms, including the unpredictability of content acquisition and audience preferences. It emphasizes the difficulty of balancing content investment with returns in a competitive market, the high costs associated with marketing, and the need for continuous innovation and adaptation to stay relevant.
The impact of OTT platforms on the Bollywood film industry is significant. The competition for viewers has led to a decrease in cinema ticket sales, affecting the revenue of Bollywood films that traditionally rely on theatrical releases. Additionally, OTT platforms now pay less for film rights due to the uncertain success of films in cinemas.
Looking ahead, the future of OTT in India appears promising. The market is expected to grow by 20% annually, reaching a value of ₹1200 billion by the end of the decade. The increasing availability of affordable smartphones and internet access will drive this growth, making OTT platforms a primary source of entertainment for many viewers.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

2. Ronnie Raevsky is a painter and creative
expressionist who is well known for his nature
and landscape works. While most of his
paintings are done using oil pastels, he also
paints with watercolors. Born in Maysel, West
Virginia, he began to paint his natural
surroundings as a child. It was at the tender age
of 8 that he completed his first painting.
3. His mother has noted that he was a very
observant child, and would seem to get
lost in the nature and scenic landscapes.
He always enjoyed taking trips to different
places so that he could paint nature and
the environment.
4. They lived on their small family estate in Maysel.
Ronnie Raevsky grew up in a tight knit
community of friends and family. All of the
townspeople knew each other, and he always
received a lot of encouragement and support
from those around him. This nurturing
environment was the perfect setting for him to
grow and develop himself into a budding artist.
His paintings were featured in local newspapers
and magazine publications. He won many prizes
not only from schools but also from independent
organizations.
5. One of his life changing experiences was his
senior year trip in high school where they visited
the Grand Canyon. It was here that he painted
the panting that is most dear to his heart, and it
is called “Nature Unchained”. Inspired by colors
of the magnanimous canyon, Ronnie Raevsky
painted an amazing piece of art that currently
stands in his grandfathers bedroom. This
painting is evidence of the fact that his ability to
translate his vision to creative artistic expression
is truly a gift from God.
6. During his formal education, he studied the
works of many famous artists, and he has an
amazing ability to recall in vivid detail any
painting that he has looked at. Although he has
studied Dutch, Russain, and French landscape
painters, Claude Monet is his favorite.
