Wayne Thiebaud is a 90-year-old American artist born in 1920 known for his still life paintings of everyday objects like food, pastries, toys and lipsticks painted with amazing detail and cast shadows. He was born in Arizona but grew up in California, studied art in college and worked as a professor at UC Davis, painting subjects associated with Pop art like objects of mass culture starting in the 1950s and 1960s, in addition to landscapes and characters like Mickey Mouse.
