The Supreme Court s 1954 Brown V. Board Of Education
The Supreme Court s 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending de jure segregation was a
watershed moment in American history. The hope was that by striking down state laws that
maintained racially segregated public schools, America would embark on a new course leading to
integrated public schools. The Court recognized the critical role that public schools play in shaping
American culture and promoting the well being of the nation. In addition to ensuring Constitutional
rights to equal protection under the law, the Brown decision paved a path for students to receive
educational services in integrated learning environments that reflect the diversity of American
society. In the immediate aftermath of the Brown decision, states across America

Estate Income Tax Return Essay
Soon after receiving the plan to complete the Estate Income Tax Returns, I began to execute the
plan. As described in the article The Estate Income Tax Returns: The Plan to Complete the Returns,
the plan, in part, involved distributing the proceeds of the rental property sale and paying out tax
deductible expenses. However, before I could carry out my portion of the plan, I had to complete
the following important tasks:
Mail W 9 forms to a couple of beneficiaries not willing to give their social security number through
email or by phone.
Contact the two charities for their tax id numbers.
Contact the attorney and tax professional for invoices.
So, once the requested information arrives, I could begin to execute the plan.

Finally, the estate was at the point where I could distribute estate property. Since the beneficiaries
weren t expecting much from the estate, they were about to receive an unexpected surprise.
However, I couldn t let the excitement affect the work that still remains.
The will provided for a twisted distribution formula and I had to get it right. So, I wrote a draft of
the distribution and had the attorney and tax professional look it over. They both approved of the
distribution and, at that point, I wrote out the checks. Along with the checks, I included a letter
explaining that this is the first distribution of three. The next distribution will distribute the last of
the estate property, and the third distribution was to close out what remains in the estate account.
To get the beneficiaries feeling giddy, I told them that the first distribution consisted of only the
proceeds from the sale of the rental property, which accounted for about a third of the estate value.
So, after reading this letter, I am sure the beneficiaries would feel pleasantly surprised. If not

Number Fifteen: Her Eyes Got Her a Role on La Vie en Rose
Director Olivier Dahan decided to cast Marion Cotillard to play the iconic French singer because,
according to him, both ladies both have the same eyes. He had Marion in mind for this role before
he even started writing the script for the movie.
Number Fourteen: She Won an Oscar for a Non English Part

The Good Wife TV Show
Extra Credit I chose to analyze episode 21 (In Sickness) of Season 2 of The Good Wife TV
show. In this episode, a judge hears both sides on a liver transplant dispute between the hospital
(defendant) and the victim (plaintiff), represented by big firm attorneys. The plaintiff was
allegedly wrongfully removed from the top of the transplant list. The attorney for the hospital
was then fired by her firm during the trial. She proceeded to go to the big firm attorneys that
were on her opposite side and ask for them to be her attorneys, representing her in a wrongful
discharge suit against her former law firm. The big firm accepted the case. The fired attorney

The rule on declining representation is represented by the big firm attorneys taking the fired
attorney s case on the wrongful discharge claim against her former law firm. Correct application
of the rule would have instead required that they decline to represent her because they took her
as a client knowing that the representation will result in violation of professional conduct (such
as the rules on conflicts and confidentiality). The rules on conflicts of interest and imputation of
those conflicts are represented by the big firm attorneys who took on the fired attorney s case
(who was their opposition just a few hours ago on a case that was still pending). Confidential
information from the hospital s side was given to the big firm attorneys, that they used in the liver
case. The attorneys for the hospital ask for the big firm to be discqualified for what happened. The
judge asked afterwards if the fired attorney could keep those two cases separate, she answered yes,

able to draw from his own internal emotional struggle and reveal some of these insecurities through
his compositions but intensifying the Classical form and other practices.
Programme Music
During the Romanic period, there were many advances in regards to instrumentation, and the size
of a typical orchestra increased in size and range, adding in more instruments to the wind, brass and
percussion sections. Symphonie Fantastique, by Hector Berlioz, was no exception, and was written
for an extensive orchestra of 220 players, including, piccolos, flutes, oboes, horns, clarinets,
bassoons, cornets, trumpets, trombones, tuba (or ophicleides), timpani, bells, a wide variety of
percussion, bells, violins, violas, cellos and double basses. Through this symphony, various
instruments have programmatic purposes to develop the scene, such as the pizzicato strings in the
4th movement, representing the head bouncing after he was decapitated, and the clarinet in E flat
and bassoons in the 5th movement, depicting bubbles rising in a cauldron.
Both movements 4 and 5 were through composed, featuring various musical fragments and themes.
Movement 4 features two key themes in addition to the idГ©e fixe, whilst Movement 5 centred
around 3 musical themes; the Beloved (Harriet), the Great Shout, and the Fearsome Crowd. An

The Problem Of Underage Drinking
Have you ever heard of underage drinking? Well, it s a serious problem that happens s every day.
Within this article, you will find all the problems that happen because of underage drinking. The
CDC ( Center for Disease Control) did a study on underage drinking it states. That Alcohol is the
most commonly used and abused drug among youth in the United States . Also, the legal drinking
age is 21 and people 12 to 20 are 11% consumers of alcohol. Then before this study in 2010
drinking took 4,300 lives of youth each year. It s a proven fact that most underage drinkers
consume more drinks then adult drinkers. In 2010 189,000 emergency room visits were for
underage drinkers or condition dealing with underage drinkers. Then another study in 2015 had a
survey that was given to high schoolstudents showed 33% of students drank 18% binge drink 8%

Art As A Physical Form Of Creative Expression
Art is a physical form of creative expression in one s unique innovative usage of resources. This
procedure can be looked upon in various ways. While art may come in numerous arrangements by
articulating its autonomous purpose, as it has been understood that, individuals create art to capture
the attention of the audience, to make them think the tenacity behind its creation. Besides, in today
s society, art serves as a momentum. It is being created to symbolize entities and philosophies from
the society.
Artist Lipi is a maker of delicate looking artwork. However, the tools behind her subtle artwork in

message towards the observers aside from astonishing visitors with its beauty.

Coleman And Bourdieu
Three different views on social capital are particularly considered by scholars. They are the ideas of
Pierre Bourdieu, James Coleman, and Robert Putnam.
Pierre Bourdieu
A concurrently developed theory of social capital came from French Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu
(1985). Bourdieu s (1985) use of the term social capital is an explicit attempt to understand the
production of classes and class divisions. Social capital and relationships are never disconnected
from capital. Capital for Bourdieu (1985), is simultaneously economic as well as a set of power
relations that constitute a variety of realms and social interactions though normally non
economic. He was interested to find the ways to reproduce society and to understand how the
supreme position of dominant classes are retained. He could not explain this by economics alone,
and he is well known for his discussion of cultural capital. Also he tried to learn how people
utilized cultural knowledge to place them in the hierarchy. He wrote a famous book, Distinction
(1984) a detailed study of middle class taste and how they identify themselves with those who are
above than them on the social ladder and the difference from those below .
James Coleman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social capital for him is inherently functional and social capital is whatever allows people or
institutions to act. Social capital is therefore not a mechanism, a thing, or an outcome, but
simultaneously any or all of them. Coleman sought to link the ideas of economic and sociology
theory. His way of study leads to a broader view of social capital. According to him social capital is
not a stock owned by elite groups but also the benefits of all commodities can be utilized by the
marginalized and

The Decomposition Of Soil Organic Matter
The decomposition of soil organic matter (SOM), or plant litter, by soil organisms, influences soil
chemistry and its physical properties. The breakdown rate of SOM affects plant nutrient
availability, the moisture holding capacity of soils, soil structure and the biological activity of soil
organisms.01 According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO),
these microorganisms carry out processes that are essential for soilhealth and biodiversity,
performing vital functions in the soil, such as soil fertility, plant growth, maintaining soil structure,
soil resilience and carbon storage. 01 There are three biogeochemical cycles that are essential to
life carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) and have been the focus of many studies, which
have found organic C, N, P and sulfur (S) to be strongly related. Having a better understanding of
this soil ecosystem, including processes and the C N P S stoichiometry of SOM , is important to
shedding light on the nature of nutrient limitation in terrestrial ecosystems. Furthermore, it has
applications to the capture of the benefits of soil biological activity for sustainable and productive
agriculture and to the reduction of negative impacts from human intervention (FAO). 01
When I first arrived at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) in Lancaster, United Kingdom,
I had limited knowledge of the implications of nutrient cycling in soils and waters. Although I was

Reflection On My Final Reflection
MY FINAL REFLECTION
TASHA PARKER
COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY In deal with the Two Natures of Christ s Person, I
have found that there are a lot of people past and present that still have some sort of an issue with
the subject of God and Jesus Christ being one in the same. According to McGrath, Irenaeus of
Lyons on the Trinity that God the Father is, uncreated, who is uncontained, invisible, one God,
creator of the universe. (McGrath, p. 157). And according to scripture, I and the Father are one
John 10:30 KJV. And there are many, many more scriptures that I will quote as we go along. Now
I understand the argument of not fully understanding how can God who is completely divine and
not of this world, be the Son of God. And Jesus Christ who is the son of God, that was born of a
woman (I left out the virgin because of another argument) conceived by the Holy Ghost. Walked
among us, grew up, ate, lived in this land as we have, yet was without sin, holy, powerful, and
God in the flesh. Okay, I can certainly see why the question came about. So, let me take a swing
at the discussion at hand. The Bible is a Prophetic Book, it is filled with divine language,
definitions, and mysteries. So, to be able to understand and answer many of the questions of this
book, one must have a spiritual discernment. According to scripture, Which things also we speak,
not in the words which man s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing
spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God:
for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually
discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged by no man . 1
Corinthians 2:13 15 (KJV). So, then now let me also point out that being saved,or a believer
does not mean the same thing as having a spirit of discernment. No, not at all, for this is a gift
that one must receive from God the father. Again, scripture says, Every good gift and every
perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no
variableness, neither shadow of turning , James 1:17 KJV. I could go on all day about the
scriptures but I will add in this

This article One and Done is an excerpt from her book One and Only and the reviews of this
book come from extremely credible sources such as the New York Times, therefore establishing
her credibility. The author s purpose for writing this piece is to argue that having one child is
not detrimental to the child psychologically, and only children are not different than kids with
siblings. This piece was written July 7, 2010 so the research and studies are very up to date. The
main points of this article started out with the argument of why Sandler herself decided to have
one child, and this is based on how the economy is sluggish... and raising kids cost a bundle. She
describes the effects of the recession on the number of children women bear, and points out that
women are having less and less children because of their high costs. Sandler then goes on to
discuss why people urge families to have more than one child, and she uses personal experience
of a cashier in a store to exemplify the pressure of having more kids. Sandler investigates why
there is such an aversion to have only one child, single children are perceived as spoiled, selfish,
solitary misfits, because this is such a believable stereotype, parents are pressured to have multiple
children because they don t want to do that to their child. Sandler uses the study by Granville
Stanley Hall to act as a counterargument

Definition Essay On Slang Word
Everyone has a word or phrase that purely defines who they are, how they speak or the way they

aware of the slang word as LOL, which stands for laughing out loud. LOLOL means close to the

people expressing their laughter by lots of laughing out loud, . There are multiple definitions for

This slang word can be used through dialogue as well as a visual, sound, smell, taste, and touch.
One of the most recent visual encounters of using the word LOLOL was when my friend Taylor
Bruck was playing intramural basketball. Intramural sports are when people get teams together
to play one another in a non competitive fashion but, Taylor tried making this very competitive
so she decided to wear goggles and a mouth guard. I do not think I can t remember a time that I
laughed that hard. Since Taylor is one of my good friends I able to laugh at her without
offending her. Another visual detail that always seems to have me laughing out loud is when I
watch videos of dogs playing. I love watching videos of dogs that are doing trick and end up
failing or when dogs do something funny but of course not videos of dogs hurting themselves.
Now, for the last example of a visual detail that helps explain LOLOL is a classic. Taylor Bacon,
my best friend and I live by a lake named Lake Ladue. Last summer we both decided to go
canoeing so when we went we could rent out a canoe for two hours. Our trip on the lake was
going smoothly besides the fact we could not make the canoe go straight. We had the hardest
time to move in the water and before you know it time was almost up. When we arrived back at
shore, the guy who was helping us started laughing at us because we have been rowing the canoe
backward the whole time. Taylor and I just looked at each other and started dying of laughter at
how dumb we both just

Diction In The Raven
In the classic poem, The Raven , Edgar Allan Poe explores the effects of isolation and grief. The
Raven follows a man who laments his lost love, Lenore. When a raven enters his chamber, and
repeatedly says nevermore, the narrator s inner struggle with his state of mind is revealed.
Through the use of imagery and diction in stanza five, Poe expresses the narrator s fear and
sorrow after losing his loved one. Poe s utilizes imagery to portray the narrator s struggle to cope
with the loss of Lenore. For instance, when the narrator opens the door to see who is knocking,
he recounts, Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing (Poe 25). Poe

My Observation At Oakwood Methodist Preschool
I conducted my observation at Oakwood Methodist Preschool on May 9, 2016 at 9:30 in the
morning and 3:00 in the afternoon. The child I observed was a 16 month old female that I did
have previously relations too. I use to work at Oakwood Methodist as an Extended Care Teacher. I
use to care for Baby M in the infantroom. During the observationthere were two teachers, and 7
infants. The room that the observation took place in had many toys such as: balls, bouncers,
walkers, rattles, and soft plush books. There was also a play mat where all the toys were, and two
rocking chairs in the room. During this observation I focused on 6 different developmental
domains. In my paper I am going to discuss perception, motor skills, cognitive ability,
communication/language, social skills, and emotions.
Perception is how the infant incorporates his/her 5 senses into what they are exploring, and
reacting too. During my observation Baby M reacted to sights, sounds, and touching. According
to the book haptic perception is perception of the properties of an object using touch (Fogel,
2011. PG 152). Baby M placed the balls and teethers directly in her mouth to get a better idea or
perception of what the toy was. Although she is at the age where she knew what each toy was she
still explored it using her mouth. Baby M also showed signs of auditory development by listening
to what the caregiver was saying to her and responding with positive emotions when told to do
something.

U.s. Investment Abroad And Foreign Direct Investment
Abstract
With recent technology advancements and globalization process, there exists more cases of
domestic capital invested into foreign domains to exploit foreign markets. This paper aims to study
the effect of U.S. direct investment abroad, and foreign direct investment (FDI) in the U.S. on the
unemployment rate in U.S. A dummy variable will be tailored to explain the impact of the 2008
financial crisis and its spill over effect in to 2009, in relation to the overall quarterly time series data
from 1994 to 2014. Multiple linear regression results confirm while both foreign direct investments
and U.S. investments abroad are critical components in the model, FDI is comparatively more
important determining unemployment rate.
Introduction
The Globalization process have provided many benefits for both developed countries and
developing countries. With recent breakdowns of economic barriers for countries to have easy
access of foreign investment capital, developed countries such as the U.S. have the opportunity to
explore immature markets, while developing countries will receive the financial resources,
advanced technology, and managerial skills necessary for a faster pace of economic development.
Foreign direct investment by multinational corporations is the action of obtaining controlling
equity share of a firm in a foreign country. There has been many discussions about the role of FDI
in affecting a country s unemployment rate and economic growth. Of which many believed

Quit Claim Deed Essay
Change is a part of life and business. So is the action to transfer deed title of ownership. For
some the decision is a result of acquiring new property. It may also be related to family
circumstances requiring a name be removed, changed or added onto the property title. The
property transfer involves legal forms to change the recorded deed, some research on the property
and the names of all the parties involved in the transfer. Basic information about the property is
obtained through the county recorder s office where the property is located. The information

The quit claim deed allows the current owner to relinquish any claim or interest to a deeded
property. In real estate most of these transfers occur between family members. Quit claim deeds
do exactly what they named, they transfer property titles quickly. It is more common to use this
type of deed when transferring property as part of the estate planning for personal assets. For
example, your grandparents pass away and leave property to several of their children. All of the
surviving children agree to release their interest to one of the siblings. In this case the quit claim
deed is signed by all of the parties and the new deed is transferred to the single sibling as a sole
owner.
Lack of Warranties and No Guarantees
A quit claim deed does not provide the new owner with any promises or guarantees. Diligence is
a must in this case. Whether the parties know each other or not, the rights of the transferring
owner should be verified. Due to the lack of guarantees with this type of deed a title search is
suggested. The search may uncover liabilities or risks to the new owner. The search will confirm
the property is free of any liens or claims. If the new owner signs the quit claim deed without doing
any verifications they may be subjected and responsible for paying any debt connected to the
property.

Self-Recognition And Child Development
Child development in general is something most people do not really think of. Even if someone
has children they do not really think about it unless something seems wrong with their child. Ever
since this class I never really thought too much about how we all develop. A lot of things we
learned in this were actually surprising to me but I could only choose one. I chose to look at an
experiment on self recognition because I found it very interesting that the researchers used a mirror
to understand how the infants would react. In the self recognition experiment the researchers put
the infants in front of a mirror and tried putting different things on them to see if they could
recognize themselves. Putting a child in front of a mirror to see if... Show more content on

Child development is not as easy as that. Infants need to see themselves multiple times in the
mirror to develop self recognition. I was surprised with what I learned because it made me start to
think about development in general not only with self recognition. Development is not something
that happens overnight. This study proves it because an infant will not realize themselves the first
time they look in a mirror they will need to get used to the things around them and realize they are
looking at the other objects so the person they are looking at has to be themselves. This is an
important study because is an infant does not have self recognition there could be something
wrong with them. All stages of development are important because the sooner doctors find out their
development is behind the sooner the problem can be fixed so the child will not be behind in their
stages of

Media Perception, Blair, Cameron, And Their First 100 Days
# Media Perception, Blair, Cameron, and their first 100 days. Personal Project Prologue In his
second inaugural speech, delivered on the 8th of May, 2015, David Cameron expressed his
sentiment of the achievements his government has made in his first term as prime minister.
When I stood here five years ago, our country was in the grip of an economic crisis. Five years
on, Britain is so much stronger. But the real opportunities lie ahead. His achievements may have
been remarkable but my question is: throughout this, what was the viewpoint of the media, and
how will it respond to his second term as PM? I will be analysing David Cameron s second term
as Prime Minister, as this allows the government to be more accountable[1] and of the different
media perceptions of each Prime Minister; in particular, the newspaper outlets. For unlike
television or radio which are legally circumscribed to be impartial and unprejudiced, newspaper s
have no such constraint. The large amounts of time and energy senior politicians devote to
ingratiating themselves to them is indicative of how influential these newspapers are capable of
being. This is clearly seen even in the relatively recent efforts made by David Cameron in meeting
Rupert Murdoch, the proprietor of the News of the World, The Times, and most famously, The Sun.
An even more evident example presents itself during the run up to the 1997 general election, when
the newly elected prime minister, Tony Blair, from the U.K to

My Experience On My Cultural Experience In Italy
While on this trip to Italy there were many different cultural experiences, that were very
impactful and taught me new things, but for this essay I will only be focusing on one that stood
out the most. This specific experience was the weekend we had the opportunity to explore
Venice. This was the first time during this trip that we had to figure everything out completely on
our own, from navigating public transportation to figuring out what to explore. We did not
experience as much of these problem solving experiences when in Reggio Emilia since we were
spending most of our time in the international center and were provide with resource from our
peers and the individuals working with us to find things to do during the evening. Throughout this
essay I will describe how this experience benefited me even when I was struggling to understand
or find out where I was. As well as how it impacted my cultural frame and perspective of Italian
culture. When it came to the experience there were many different struggles that we face and that
is why it was the one that stood out to me the most. The first struggle we faced was not being
able to find anywhere to get food the first day we got their since everything was closed. We
walked around for about twenty minutes that day until we were able to find a little food cart and
order some food. While on this trip as a whole I learned very quickly that a large majority of

Public Shame, By Hester Pryne During The French Revolution
Public shame was pervasive through its public executions and social upheaval during the French
Revolution. The French Revolution resulted in over 40,000 deaths, many by the guillotine where
citizens would gather around to savor or loathe the decapitation of an accused person. No one could
escape ignominy caused by the malfunctions of the four anarchies. Nevertheless, people were
publicly executed or tortured for many false accusations that ended in complete violence and
disruption. The cost of public shamewas futile and if it was not so eminent in the French
Revolution, then possibly there could have been better results. In like manner, the price of
public shame is a detrimental thing that can cause someone to feel so desperate that their only
option is to take their life. Over numerous centuries, there are various forms of public shame that
adulterate the confidence of people who are the victims. Public shame may not include scaffold
or guillotine gatherings as it did in earlier eras, but can be illustrated in social media posts, news,
or articles that excessively humiliate a person. The impacts of public shame are countlessly
horrific that they eliminate any possible benefits. Hester Pryne in The Scarlet Letter was
publicly shamed and forced to wear an immense A on her bosom for her sin of adultery which of
course led to people labeling her as the biggest sinner in the world. Rude comments similarly
flowed into a modern day case of adultery with Monica Lewinsky. Her

environmental microbiomes in the rise of antibiotic resistance. In particular, creative approaches to
the discovery of novel antibiotics and their expedited and controlled introduction to therapy are

Essay on Misfortune and Comedy in Shakespeare s Play, A...
A Winter s Tale by William Shakespeare is a chilling play full of misfortune and comedy.
Throughout the play, the themes of death and suffering are present, but yet the way in which they
are presented is both comical and strange. The way in which the dialogue takes place or the way
in which actions occur seem to be ambiguous. One of the most pivotal points of the story takes
place over a very short time span, climaxing over three pages, and declining almost immediately
thereafter. In this case, the deathof Hermione and Mamillius occurs and is resolved, with their burial
following quickly after. The wording throughout the text can be interpreted in several ways,
especially in the way which death is represented throughout the play. Death... Show more content on

Strange considering that before this point Paulina had changed her views towards the tyrant king.
Paulina no longer respected her king as before, for he had gone blind with rage. Leontes up and
till this point had discredited his queen, already he had forgotten how to bring out the luster or

Leontes, for he no longer sought revenge nor did he want to dispel his wrath. Instead he now saw
his mistakes, and would like to mend them, but sadly cannot. The events that have occurred are
done, and there is no way of going back to change them. Leontes himself sees this, and now the play
may move on from the wretchedness that was the new ruler. Now the focus can shift to the
daughter that he had banished before, that was believed unimportant till learning

The concept compassion is heart felt and used by many to cover a subjective feeling.
Compassion is experienced by people across the world in healthcare and in many aspects of life.
It is well known in many disciplines, and has been deemed a quality in which nurses possess in
their profession. The idea is one that is familiarized by many, but is not clearly defined in nursing
education or practice but has been the foundation regarding the high quality of care nurses are
thought to contribute to the medical world. The purpose of this concept analysis is to understand
the experience of compassion. By using Walker and Avant s (2011) eight step guideline for
concept analysis on compassion, this analysis will provide examples and definitions resulting in
an explanation of the importance of the concept related to nursing practice. To gain a better

Collaboration of Buying Suppliers in South African...
While there is a varied amount of sectors and/or industries that have major issues and concerns,
the automotive industry in South Africa is a present issue that needs to be considered, (Naude
Weiss, 2011). The OEMs in South Africa are BMW (3 series), Ford (Ranger pickup from 2011),
GM (Corsa pickup, Isuzu pickup), Mercedez Benz (C Class), Nissan/Renault (various sedans and
pickups), Toyota (Corolla 4 door and Hilux pickup), Volkswagen (new and old Polo), (Pitot, 2010).
Government persuade and pressurize automotive assemblers to increase local content but the reality
of the situation is that there local manufacturers aren t as competitive as they would like to be or
they aren t as competitive as those suppliers and automotive assemblers internationally. The reason
being is supply chain issues cause inefficiencies that impact a local automotive assembler to gain
competitiveness, (Naude Weiss, 2011).
The most common drivers of demand distortion are unforeseen sales promotion which have a ripple
effect on the supply chain, lack of customer confidence and cancellations of orders, (Lysons, 2003).
To remain competitive, the automotive industry needs to decrease costs and enhance customer
service levels. Some complexities they may face is rising fuel prices and high manpower costs
which negatively influences the cost of living in today s society. The reason South Africais not
competitive is due to the low percentage of local content in a final product), (Pitot, 2010). If

Religious Views On The Fringe
Being from a small, conservative town, being called a liberal is meant insultingly. Being called
atheist was synonymous with devil worshipper . Yet, for a time, I was atheist leaning and still
am a liberal. Being on the fringe has often led to a series of confrontations that have shaped my
political and religious views, occasionally making me as prejudiced as the people who I felt were
attacking me. Thankfully, these confrontations have forced me to educate myself and have made
me strong in my opinions. While my religious and political views have often been heavily related,
they have evolved heavily over time as I matured and learned about the world.
Originally, I was raised to be a Christian. My parents were not strict church goers, but the concept
of God was certainly prevalent in my life. Being raised outside of a church community allowed me
the ability to formulate my own opinions on religion. My father wanted this experience for me. He
was baptized Catholic as a baby, but with age realized he did not agree with the traditions of the
Catholic Church. This experience influenced him to allow me to be able to choose how I wanted to
be baptized.
Due to this, I settled for a Tom T. Hall Me and Jesus Have Our Own Thing Going mentality until I
was a teenager. Instead I was governed by principles such as honesty, charity, respect, and loyalty. I
did not attend church regularly, occasionally read the bible, and was not baptized but I did try to

Never Go Back Stereotypes
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016) has all the staples of a clichГ© action film. Car chases with
gunfire, check. Villains killing in the name of profit, check. Witty one liners before epic scenes,
check. It has the plot sequence of a cookie cutter action film and like so many other action
movies, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is clearly gender biased. Jack Reacher, the main
protagonist, is an ex military loner played by Tom Cruise. Suddenly, Army Major Susan Turner
(of course, the lead man s love interest) is arrested for treason. Reacher comes to the rescue,
uncovers a conspiracy with a military contractor, and saves Army Major Susan Turner. Even on
the surface, it is a movie that has overtones of sexism, a message that reads: even a highly
successful woman requires a man. Delve deeper, action movies for generations have ingrained
restrictive roles for women to society. In 2016, only 27 percent of the dialogue came from women

The Sonnets Of The Sonnet In The 17th Century
Prior to the 17th century, poetry was not only predominantly written by males, but also catered to
their ideas, interests, and views. During this time, women were limited in their expression and were
silenced to anything other than their household duties. Among this era, Elizabeth Barrett was born
in 1806 to a family of great wealth in Durham, England. Under a very traditional, strict household,
she was the eldest of 12 children. Her father, Edward, was very controlling and forbid all of his
daughters from marrying. Although, he did encourage highly encourage their studies. Elizabeth
began to explore beyond her traditional studies and took an interest in poetry, literature, and various
languages. At a very young age, she could read the works of many well known scholars.
Unfortunately, Elizabeth became very ill, which in turn affected not only her well being but over
overall mindset. Although her circumstances grew worse, she was able to spend more time on her
studies. Elizabeth later became a very influential poet, writing the Sonnets of the Portuguese,
challenging the traditional male dominance in writing through her new view, writing style, and the
concept of love.
With Elizabeth s gloomy outlook on life, and the overbearing traditional sense of love from her
father, she was certain that she would never find true love or even marry. However, the more she
began to write the more attention she received, particularly from one individual writer, Robert
Browning. Later the two

Role Of Expiration Dates Of Yeast Sample Viability
Role of Expiration Dates in Yeast Sample Viability

Biology 2040, 1003
Abstract
Yeasts consume organic compounds (e.g. sugar) to make ATP in a process called fermentation,
creating ethanol and carbon dioxide. Dried yeast samples are in a quiescent state; that is, the yeast
are in a state of arrested cell growth. Given the differing expiration dates of our yeast samples, we
hypothesized that the yeast nearest to their expiration dates would take the longest to produce
carbon dioxide.
We used the gaseous carbon dioxide product of yeast s fermentation reaction to observe the length
of time our yeast samples (with four different expiration dates) took to undergo fermentation, by ...

These organic compounds, such as sugars, are used by yeasts as reactants in a process called
alcoholic fermentation. During alcoholic fermentation, yeast produces two ethanol molecules and
two carbon dioxide (C02) molecules from one molecule of glucose; the equation for alcoholic
fermentation is: C6H12O6 в†’ 2 C2H5OH + 2 CO2.
In our experiment, we used the gaseous property of CO2 at STP to measure the activity of
alcoholic fermentation among store bought yeasts with different expiration dates in the presence
of sugar. We hypothesized that the yeast nearer their expiration dates would rise more slowly, or
not at all, when compared to the yeast that were farther from the expiration dates listed on their
packages. This experiment is important, because yeasts are commonly used subjects of many
scientific research studying genes, cell life cycles and responses; and, as such we need to
understand how to determine and assure yeasts viability. (Gancedo, J. M.1998 and VГЎchovГЎ, L.
et al., 2012)
Methods
To test our hypothesis that yeast closer to their printed expiration dates were less likely to undergo
alcoholic fermentation than yeast farther from their printed expiration dates, we used store bought
yeast with different expiration dates, meaning that our yeast varied in age. In addition, we tested
our hypothesis using four bags of store bought yeast, each with different expiration dates. To
observe whether each bag underwent fermentation,

The Effect Of Strain Gauge Rosette Used For Multi Channel...
Abstract While calculating the results from the collected data, the thin plate shows non linear
behaviour such that stress does not vary linearly with strain. In theory when pressure is
concentrated at the centre of a circular plate, stress value decreases with respect to increasing radial
distance from the centre. However in this case, we see that there are two principal stresses and they
behave differently than one another. This experiment will introduce us to a new strain gauge called
strain gauge rosette used for multi channel strain measurement and other equations to calculate
principal stresses and strains in a two dimensional state. Introduction For a thin circular plate, stress
and strain usually occur in a two dimensional state. As it is difficult to measure stress, strains are
instead measured in real life practices and its corresponding stress values are calculated. The most
popular measuring tool for strain is the strain gauge. Since strain is the measure of change in
displacement over the original dimension of a structure, the measuring tool must be sensitive
enough to detect that small change in displacement. Thus, we can learn how to handle sensitive

Isolation And Characterization Of Human Umbilical Cord...
Summary of:
Isolation and Characterization of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells with
Hematopoiesis supportive Function and Other Potentials (Lu et al. 2006)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are fibroblast like structural cells that are found in bone marrow,
skeletal muscle, and other connective tissues. MSC derived from bone marrow (BM) have been
shown to be self renewing and are capable of differentiation into a variety of stromal cell types
including bone forming osteoblasts, fat storing adipocytes, and neurons. Another trait exhibited
by BM MSC is their supportive role in hematopoiesis (blood genesis). This behavior has been
utilized to enhance efficacy of co transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). BM MSC
are gathered using painful procedures in which penetrating bone to access the marrow. This article
investigates the umbilical cord (UC) as a source of MSC and compares the cells gathered in this
manner with BM MSC. Previous methods for obtaining UC MSC involved extracting the cells
from the single vein found on the umbilical cord. This method was met with 30% success with this
group. A new method involving the use of the whole cord was created and attempted. This method
was then compared to the traditional practice to isolate MSC, through bone marrow aspiration. The
research group did this by dicing the cord into 1 2 mm fragments and enzymatically digesting said
fragments in collagenase and trypsin. The cell suspension was then filtered and cultured

Atomic Bomb On Hiroshima And Nagasaki
Imagine yourself walking down the familiar road of your hometown following your daily
routine. The sky is then consumed by the deafening sound of airplanes. The people around you
start to panic. You then start fleeing towards your family and loved ones as realization hits you.
However it is no use, your life had ended. Thousands of people died instantly as an atomic bomb
was dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, thousands more died because of the effect after. No
weapon compares to the magnitude of destruction an atomic bomb causes. In the history of the
world, atomic bombs have only been used twice. This was during World War II in Hiroshima and
Nagasaki, Japan. On June 1941, the Manhattan Projectwas commenced under the care of the U.S.
Office of Scientific Research and Development. In the eyes of formal President Truman, the war
was bloody and violent and gone for way too long. The war had already claimed many lives and
it was time to put a stop to it. Already in 1939, physicist of the United States were scared of the
chance of Germans studying nuclear fission. Albert Einstein then proposed the idea of this
military weapon to then president, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Manhattan Project would be the code
name for this secretive project. In 1943, Harold C. Urey set a cooperation deal with England and
Canada, bringing even more scientist to work on the new military weapon. By the end, the project
grew to cost two billion dollars. On July 16th of 1945, the first atomic bomb

What Are The Five Jobs Of The 16th Century Jobs
In my paper I will be talking a lot about the top five jobs of the 16th century and todays top five
jobs. After I have explained these jobs and told you what they are I m going to compare them.
Women didn t play a big role in jobs in the 16th century because they were considered the weaker
sex, therefore they usually stayed home as housewives where they would cook, clean, and sew
clothes for the husbands. Today we know this to be completely the opposite because women, in
some cases, are paid more the men for the same jobs just because they have a better education. In
the 16th centurywomen also didn t have a chance to go to college whereas nowadays women are
very smart and get college scholarships for there academics and many other things. Im mainly
going to be comparing these various jobs, so stick around this is going to be interesting.... Show

The Relation Between Genetics And Physiology And Medicine
Thomas H. Morgan: The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine.
Genetics is the study of how hereditary characteristics or genes are inherited. The studies of
genetics have first been recognized by Gregor Mendel. Gregor Mendel studied how traits were
passed down from parent to offspring using pea plants. It was later discovered that Mendel s law
of inheritance not only worked for pea plants but also on, animals and humans. Mendel s
experiments gave rise to the importance of chromosomes in genetic experiments, crossing over,
and linkage. Thomas H. Morgan experimented on Drosophila melanogaster, fruit flies to give
further analysis of Mendel s two laws of inheritance. Morgan s work have been recognized for
discovery of sex linked genes and the importance of understanding genes for medical practice, in
which he discusses in his Nobel Prize lecture; The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine.
To first understand sex linked inheritance we must understand Gregor Mendel s two laws of
inheritance. Mendel s first law of inheritance or Law of Segregation, describes how each allele in
a pair separates and forms into different gamete or sex cells, during the uniting of these sex cells
(the sperm and the egg). The second law of inheritance or Law of independent assortment states
that, a pair of alleles segregate or separate independently from the other allele in the union of the
sex cells. An addition was added to Mendel s two inheritance laws. These

Reducing The Homeless Population Of San Diego Essay
Reducing the Homeless Population in San Diego County While the homeless population in the
United States has declined over the past five years it is still much higher then it needs to be.
Currently San Diego County has the fifth highest homeless population in the United States. The
homeless population of San Diego County is mostly located in and around the downtown and
beach areas of the county however it has started to spread into more areas of the county to include
the San Diego River area of Santee. While there is a portion of the homeless population that
choose to be homeless a large number of them are homeless due to falling on hard times. While it
would be hard to get every homeless person off the streets there are something s that can be done to
help them. One way to solve this problem is to repurpose some of the currently vacant government
building and unused county owned land throughout the county and convert them into homeless
shelters. While this solution may reduce the homeless population we first need to look at who and
why people are homeless in this country. Understanding What Homeless Is When we start talking
about the homeless population there are some key terms that we need to understand. The first of
those terms is sheltered homeless people. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (2014) defines sheltered homeless people as individuals who are staying in
emergency shelters, transitional housing programs or safe havens (pg. 2). These would

Looking Backward By Edward Bellamy, And Fahrenheit 451
Have you ever wondered what a perfect world would be like? To you it could mean no more war,
no more poverty, every person of every race and gender being treated exactly the same. However, to
someone else their idea of a perfect world could be the complete opposite of what you would want.
In Looking Backward by Edward Bellamy, and Fahrenheit 451by Ray Bradburythe idea of a perfect
world is not just an idea anymore, it becomes reality. Nevertheless, both books perfect world are
completely different from one another. The theme of both books is to try and find that perfect
world, and maintain it. While there are many may differences between the two, the underlying
truth still remains the same. In Bellamy s novel, we start out in the late nineteenth century. Julian
West, the main character, was born into an aristocratic family. Just as the rest of his class did,
Julian thought of himself to be a higher rated citizen to the rest of the population. Julian had
everything, even his fiancГ© Edith was an aristocrat, and together they felt as if they could take
on the world. The gap between the rich and the poor sometimes affected the rich just as much as
it did the poor. The two were to get married as soon as their house was finished, but strikes from
the poor construction workers were prolonging that process. Julian had been suffering from
insomnia all of his life, so he hired a hypnotist to help him get his sleep. He even went to the extent
to build a secret underground chamber

The next distribution will distribute the last of the estate property, and the third distribution was to close out what remains in the estate account. Pierre Bourdieu A concurrently developed theory of social capital came from French Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (1985). Bourdieu s (1985) use of the term social capital is an explicit attempt to understand the production of classes and class divisions. Social capital and relationships are never disconnected from capital. Capital for Bourdieu (1985), is simultaneously economic as well as a set of power relations that constitute a variety of realms and social interactions though normally non economic. He was interested to find the ways to reproduce society and to understand how the supreme position of dominant classes are retained. He could not explain this by economics alone, and he is well known for his discussion of cultural capital. Also he tried to learn how people utilized cultural knowledge to place them in the hierarchy. • 11. Reflection On My Final Reflection MY FINAL REFLECTION TASHA PARKER COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY In deal with the Two Natures of Christ s Person, I have found that there are a lot of people past and present that still have some sort of an issue with the subject of God and Jesus Christ being one in the same. According to McGrath, Irenaeus of Lyons on the Trinity that God the Father is, uncreated, who is uncontained, invisible, one God, creator of the universe. (McGrath, p. 157). And according to scripture, I and the Father are one John 10:30 KJV. And there are many, many more scriptures that I will quote as we go along. Now I understand the argument of not fully understanding how can God who is completely divine and not of this world, be the Son of God. And Jesus Christ who is the son of God, that was born of a woman (I left out the virgin because of another argument) conceived by the Holy Ghost. Walked among us, grew up, ate, lived in this land as we have, yet was without sin, holy, powerful, and God in the flesh. Okay, I can certainly see why the question came about. So, let me take a swing at the discussion at hand. The Bible is a Prophetic Book, it is filled with divine language, definitions, and mysteries. So, to be able to understand and answer many of the questions of this book, one must have a spiritual discernment. According to scripture, Which things also we speak, not in the words which man s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged by no man . 1 Corinthians 2:13 15 (KJV). So, then now let me also point out that being saved,or a believer does not mean the same thing as having a spirit of discernment. No, not at all, for this is a gift that one must receive from God the father. Again, scripture says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning , James 1:17 KJV. She describes the effects of the recession on the number of children women bear, and points out that women are having less and less children because of their high costs. Sandler then goes on to discuss why people urge families to have more than one child, and she uses personal experience of a cashier in a store to exemplify the pressure of having more kids. Sandler investigates why there is such an aversion to have only one child, single children are perceived as spoiled, selfish, solitary misfits, because this is such a believable stereotype, parents are pressured to have multiple children because they don t want to do that to their child. Infants need to see themselves multiple times in the mirror to develop self recognition. I was surprised with what I learned because it made me start to think about development in general not only with self recognition. Development is not something that happens overnight. This study proves it because an infant will not realize themselves the first time they look in a mirror they will need to get used to the things around them and realize they are looking at the other objects so the person they are looking at has to be themselves. This is an important study because is an infant does not have self recognition there could be something wrong with them. • 24. Media Perception, Blair, Cameron, And Their First 100 Days # Media Perception, Blair, Cameron, and their first 100 days. Personal Project Prologue In his second inaugural speech, delivered on the 8th of May, 2015, David Cameron expressed his sentiment of the achievements his government has made in his first term as prime minister. When I stood here five years ago, our country was in the grip of an economic crisis. Five years on, Britain is so much stronger. But the real opportunities lie ahead. His achievements may have been remarkable but my question is: throughout this, what was the viewpoint of the media, and how will it respond to his second term as PM? I will be analysing David Cameron s second term as Prime Minister, as this allows the government to be more accountable[1] and of the different media perceptions of each Prime Minister; in particular, the newspaper outlets. For unlike television or radio which are legally circumscribed to be impartial and unprejudiced, newspaper s have no such constraint. The large amounts of time and energy senior politicians devote to ingratiating themselves to them is indicative of how influential these newspapers are capable of being. This is clearly seen even in the relatively recent efforts made by David Cameron in meeting Rupert Murdoch, the proprietor of the News of the World, The Times, and most famously, The Sun. An even more evident example presents itself during the run up to the 1997 general election, when the newly elected prime minister, Tony Blair, from the U.K to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Experience On My Cultural Experience In Italy While on this trip to Italy there were many different cultural experiences, that were very impactful and taught me new things, but for this essay I will only be focusing on one that stood out the most. This specific experience was the weekend we had the opportunity to explore Venice. This was the first time during this trip that we had to figure everything out completely on our own, from navigating public transportation to figuring out what to explore. We did not experience as much of these problem solving experiences when in Reggio Emilia since we were spending most of our time in the international center and were provide with resource from our peers and the individuals working with us to find things to do during the evening. As well as how it impacted my cultural frame and perspective of Italian culture. When it came to the experience there were many different struggles that we face and that is why it was the one that stood out to me the most. The first struggle we faced was not being able to find anywhere to get food the first day we got their since everything was closed. • 27. Public Shame, By Hester Pryne During The French Revolution Public shame was pervasive through its public executions and social upheaval during the French Revolution. The French Revolution resulted in over 40,000 deaths, many by the guillotine where citizens would gather around to savor or loathe the decapitation of an accused person. No one could escape ignominy caused by the malfunctions of the four anarchies. Nevertheless, people were publicly executed or tortured for many false accusations that ended in complete violence and disruption. The cost of public shamewas futile and if it was not so eminent in the French Revolution, then possibly there could have been better results. In like manner, the price of public shame is a detrimental thing that can cause someone to feel so desperate that their only option is to take their life. Over numerous centuries, there are various forms of public shame that adulterate the confidence of people who are the victims. Public shame may not include scaffold or guillotine gatherings as it did in earlier eras, but can be illustrated in social media posts, news, or articles that excessively humiliate a person. The impacts of public shame are countlessly horrific that they eliminate any possible benefits. Hester Pryne in The Scarlet Letter was publicly shamed and forced to wear an immense A on her bosom for her sin of adultery which of course led to people labeling her as the biggest sinner in the world. Rude comments similarly flowed into a modern day case of adultery with Monica Lewinsky. Her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While there is a varied amount of sectors and/or industries that have major issues and concerns, the automotive industry in South Africa is a present issue that needs to be considered, (Naude Weiss, 2011). Government persuade and pressurize automotive assemblers to increase local content but the reality of the situation is that there local manufacturers aren t as competitive as they would like to be or they aren t as competitive as those suppliers and automotive assemblers internationally. The reason being is supply chain issues cause inefficiencies that impact a local automotive assembler to gain competitiveness, (Naude Weiss, 2011). The most common drivers of demand distortion are unforeseen sales promotion which have a ripple effect on the supply chain, lack of customer confidence and cancellations of orders, (Lysons, 2003). To remain competitive, the automotive industry needs to decrease costs and enhance customer service levels. Role Of Expiration Dates Of Yeast Sample Viability Role of Expiration Dates in Yeast Sample Viability Nasser Almoteb Kathryn Knackstedt 12/9/2015 Biology 2040, 1003 Abstract Yeasts consume organic compounds (e.g. sugar) to make ATP in a process called fermentation, creating ethanol and carbon dioxide. Dried yeast samples are in a quiescent state; that is, the yeast are in a state of arrested cell growth. Given the differing expiration dates of our yeast samples, we hypothesized that the yeast nearest to their expiration dates would take the longest to produce carbon dioxide. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These organic compounds, such as sugars, are used by yeasts as reactants in a process called alcoholic fermentation. During alcoholic fermentation, yeast produces two ethanol molecules and two carbon dioxide (C02) molecules from one molecule of glucose; the equation for alcoholic fermentation is: C6H12O6 в†’ 2 C2H5OH + 2 CO2. In our experiment, we used the gaseous property of CO2 at STP to measure the activity of alcoholic fermentation among store bought yeasts with different expiration dates in the presence of sugar. We hypothesized that the yeast nearer their expiration dates would rise more slowly, or not at all, when compared to the yeast that were farther from the expiration dates listed on their packages. This experiment is important, because yeasts are commonly used subjects of many scientific research studying genes, cell life cycles and responses; and, as such we need to understand how to determine and assure yeasts viability. • 43. The Effect Of Strain Gauge Rosette Used For Multi Channel... Abstract While calculating the results from the collected data, the thin plate shows non linear behaviour such that stress does not vary linearly with strain. In theory when pressure is concentrated at the centre of a circular plate, stress value decreases with respect to increasing radial distance from the centre. However in this case, we see that there are two principal stresses and they behave differently than one another. This experiment will introduce us to a new strain gauge called strain gauge rosette used for multi channel strain measurement and other equations to calculate principal stresses and strains in a two dimensional state. Introduction For a thin circular plate, stress and strain usually occur in a two dimensional state. As it is difficult to measure stress, strains are instead measured in real life practices and its corresponding stress values are calculated. The most popular measuring tool for strain is the strain gauge. Since strain is the measure of change in displacement over the original dimension of a structure, the measuring tool must be sensitive enough to detect that small change in displacement. Thus, we can learn how to handle sensitive measuring equipment and ways to ensure that the data collected is as accurate as possible and also to omit any errors that will affect the final calculation. Besides that, we can broaden our knowledge on multi channel strain measurements because in reality two dimensional strains are not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Summary of: Isolation and Characterization of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells with Hematopoiesis supportive Function and Other Potentials (Lu et al. 2006) Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are fibroblast like structural cells that are found in bone marrow, skeletal muscle, and other connective tissues. MSC derived from bone marrow (BM) have been shown to be self renewing and are capable of differentiation into a variety of stromal cell types including bone forming osteoblasts, fat storing adipocytes, and neurons. Another trait exhibited by BM MSC is their supportive role in hematopoiesis (blood genesis). This behavior has been utilized to enhance efficacy of co transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). BM MSC are gathered using painful procedures in which penetrating bone to access the marrow. This article investigates the umbilical cord (UC) as a source of MSC and compares the cells gathered in this manner with BM MSC. Previous methods for obtaining UC MSC involved extracting the cells from the single vein found on the umbilical cord. This method was met with 30% success with this group. A new method involving the use of the whole cord was created and attempted. This method was then compared to the traditional practice to isolate MSC, through bone marrow aspiration. • 47. The Relation Between Genetics And Physiology And Medicine Thomas H. Morgan: The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine. Genetics is the study of how hereditary characteristics or genes are inherited. The studies of genetics have first been recognized by Gregor Mendel. Gregor Mendel studied how traits were passed down from parent to offspring using pea plants. It was later discovered that Mendel s law of inheritance not only worked for pea plants but also on, animals and humans. Mendel s experiments gave rise to the importance of chromosomes in genetic experiments, crossing over, and linkage. Thomas H. Morgan experimented on Drosophila melanogaster, fruit flies to give further analysis of Mendel s two laws of inheritance. Morgan s work have been recognized for discovery of sex linked genes and the importance of understanding genes for medical practice, in which he discusses in his Nobel Prize lecture; The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine. To first understand sex linked inheritance we must understand Gregor Mendel s two laws of inheritance. Mendel s first law of inheritance or Law of Segregation, describes how each allele in a pair separates and forms into different gamete or sex cells, during the uniting of these sex cells (the sperm and the egg). The second law of inheritance or Law of independent assortment states that, a pair of alleles segregate or separate independently from the other allele in the union of the sex cells. An addition was added to Mendel s two inheritance laws. These significant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While it would be hard to get every homeless person off the streets there are something s that can be done to help them. One way to solve this problem is to repurpose some of the currently vacant government building and unused county owned land throughout the county and convert them into homeless shelters. While this solution may reduce the homeless population we first need to look at who and why people are homeless in this country. Nevertheless, both books perfect world are completely different from one another. The theme of both books is to try and find that perfect world, and maintain it. While there are many may differences between the two, the underlying truth still remains the same. In Bellamy s novel, we start out in the late nineteenth century. Julian West, the main character, was born into an aristocratic family. Just as the rest of his class did, Julian thought of himself to be a higher rated citizen to the rest of the population. Julian had everything, even his fiancГ© Edith was an aristocrat, and together they felt as if they could take on the world. Julian had been suffering from insomnia all of his life, so he hired a hypnotist to help him get his sleep. He even went to the extent to build a secret underground chamber ...
