I created the project and an introductory lesson for my 6th grade Creative Writing class. This is for students to gain some ideas on what to write about in their books that will be published at the end of the quarter.

2. Book Ideas and Choices
You will choose one of the following ideas
to write your book.

3. Biography
Choose an important person
Write their life story.
This could be a famous person.
This person could be a family member.

4. Autobiography
Write your life story.

5. Poetry
You will need to write at least 7 poems.
Then you can illustrate each poem.
You could write 14 poems.

6. Animal(s)
Choose an animal that you
are interested in.
This should be a
factual book.

7. Countries
Choose a country that you are
interested in.
This should be a factual book.

8. Continents
Each page is dedicated to a continent.
This should be a factual book.

9. Short Stories
Write 7 short 1 page stories.
Illustrate each story on the opposite page.

10. Sports
Choose a sport or several sports that you
are interested in.
This should be a factual book.

11. Your book will be 7 pages of text
and 7 pages of illustrations that
accompany the text.

12. YOU are responsible for editing.

13. You will design a cover and
dedicate your book to someone
you care about or look up to.

14. Your book will be published!
