written Hot Works permit 2)The insulation on the welding cable
and current return leads is undamaged and the conductor is thick enough to carry the current safely.3)All
connectors are clean, undamaged and correctly rated for the current required4)Holder must be damaged,
crack free and adequate to resist the heat.4)During welding/cutting operations, proper welding gloves
and a full-face, UV-ray protective shield shall be worn to prevent
injuries to the operator.
5) All electrical cords shall be inspected and in good working condition prior to use (no missing ground
pins, no damaged cords, or frayed wires evident).
6)Fire extinguishers must be ready for immediate use.
7)A fire watch lasting at least 30 minutes after the welding or cutting operations is required if more than
a minor fire might develop
8)All combustibles must be moved 35 feet away or properly protected or shielded 9) Adequate
and effective circuit breakers to be connected to the supply DB.

50 ******responsible individual must inspect the area and identify precautions to be taken preferably on a written Hot Works
permit****** 1) move the work piece to a safe
location for carrying out hot work2)remove nearby combustible materials (such as flammable liquids, wood, paper, textiles,
packaging or plastics) 3) protect nearby combustible materials that cannot be moved. Use suitable guards or covers such as
metal sheeting, mineral fiber boards or fire-retardant blankets 4)Use flame-resistant sheets or covers to prevent hot
particles passing through 5)Appoint a fire watch during and after the work finishes. It is normal to maintain fire watch for 30
minutes after hot work finishes 6)prevent flame, heat, sparks or hot spatter from landing on the hoses7)keep fire
extinguishers nearby 8) keep hoses away from sharp edges and abrasive surfaces or where vehicles can run over them; 9)Do
not allow hot metal or spatter to fall on hoses;10) Use a proprietary leak detecting spray or solution suitable for use with
oxy/fuel systems. 11) use soapy water or solutions to find out leakage .12)Never look for gas leaks with a naked flame.
13)Immediately repair or replace leaking components. 14) Shut off the torch valves, oxygen first (usually coloured blue) and
then the fuel gas (usually coloured red) 15)shut off the oxygen and fuel gas cylinder valves cool the blowpipe with water if
necessary 16) check the equipment for damage or faults, particularly the nozzle pressure gauge. 17) Use the correct lighting-
up procedure. Purge the hoses before lighting the torch to remove any potentially explosive gas mixtures. Use a spark igniter
and light the gas quickly after turning it on18) Make sure the blowpipe is fitted with spring-loaded non-return valves. Use
the correct gas pressures and nozzle size for the job 19)Prevent cylinders from falling or being knocked over by securing
them with a stout chain or strap. It is normal to chain them to a wheeled trolley 20).Avoid moving a cylinder by tilting it on
its base and rolling it. It is better to use a trolley

1)The speed of the grinder must always be monitored. Grinder should not rotate faster than the
maximum RPM stated on the wheel.2)Never use a grinder without the grinding wheel guard
which is provided for protection. Check the grinding wheel for any kind of crack or damage
before using the grinder.3)Grinders must always be tested before beginning any kind of work.4)
Inspect the electrical cable to determine weather the plug and cable is in good condition.5)
Wheel should be in good order and 50% covered the wheel.6)Fire extinguishers must be ready
for immediate use.
