Tianjin Eco-City is a new city being developed in Tianjin, China as a model of sustainable development. It is a joint project between China and Singapore to apply concepts of green building, transportation, and planning. The goals are to reduce carbon emissions, encourage non-motorized transportation, and create a livable community on reclaimed former salt lands. Specific plans include developing mass transit systems, requiring green building standards that reduce energy use by 43%, and limiting per capita carbon emissions to less than half that of other Chinese cities. This presentation focuses on eco-city development initiatives in developing countries towards developing low carbon society. Rapid urbanization in developing countries may be the most significant demographic transformation in our century as it restructures national economies and reshapes the lives of billions of people. At the same time, urbanization has also contributed to environmental and socioeconomic challenges, including climate change, pollution, congestion, and the rapid growth of slums. But as a major style of residential environment, city, has been endowed new contents by new ideas ever emerged in the history and eco-city development has emerged as a way to address climate change issues in the context of developing sustainable cities in developing countries. Eco-cities have the potential to address many of the problems like climate change and socio-economic aspects associated with urban development, as does the concept of sustainable development in an urban setting. Drawing on lessons learned from the planning and development process of several low-carbon eco-cities, this paper explores the potential of an integrated urbanism approach for developing countries. The objective is not only to mitigate factors contributing to climate change, but to manage risk, maximize resilience, and promote the successful economic and social growth of the urban eco community in developing countries. An integrated urbanism approach to planning may give us the tools to leapfrog the environmental and public health costs of economic progress and create a new model for cities across the developing world.

Potential for Regeneration of Kasbahs as Off-Grid CTLC
This document proposes a sustainable model for an off-grid community technology learning centre (CTLC) using renewable energy technologies and vernacular architecture. The model is based solely on renewable energy to meet its needs and educate local communities on renewable technologies. It aims to diversify the local economy, improve community development, and enhance communication and commerce. The CTLC would help reduce costs of energy in remote areas by implementing on-site solar and hydro power, enabling self-sufficiency through power generation and diversified local agriculture. This model could be applied to Kasbahs/Ksour in Morocco's pre-Saharan valleys to strategically regenerate architectural heritage and technology development.

Here are the key steps in the base exchange process for removing permanent hardness from water:
1. Hard water passes through a column containing zeolite pellets or beads.
2. Zeolite is a sodium-based mineral that has the ability to exchange its sodium ions for calcium and magnesium ions from the hard water.
3. The calcium and magnesium ions from the hard water bond to the zeolite, replacing sodium. This removes the calcium and magnesium causing hardness.
4. The water leaving the column is softened as it no longer contains calcium and magnesium ions. It is replaced by sodium ions, which do not cause hardness.
5. Eventually the zeolite becomes saturated with calcium and magnesium

The Solar Spine project aims to make Chandigarh a leader in sustainable development by addressing challenges in its northern periphery related to energy, sanitation, and gender equality. It proposes revitalizing a corridor along Chandigarh's Capitol complex into a center for renewable energy and women's empowerment called Surya Deviya. A biogas facility and solar panels will power the center's restaurant and classrooms, providing training in renewable technologies. This document proposes a sustainable model for an off-grid community technology learning centre (CTLC) using renewable energy technologies and vernacular architecture. The model is based solely on renewable energy to meet its needs and educate local communities on renewable technologies. It aims to diversify the local economy, improve community development, and enhance communication and commerce. The CTLC would help reduce costs of energy in remote areas by implementing on-site solar and hydro power, enabling self-sufficiency through power generation and diversified local agriculture. This model could be applied to Kasbahs/Ksour in Morocco's pre-Saharan valleys to strategically regenerate architectural heritage and technology development.

- 5. Progress in Delhi over the last few years Major infrastructural changes amidst increased foreign investment and economic growth. Improved infrastructure with new roads, flyovers, bridges, healthcare facilities, sanitation, etc. Soft infrastructure in the form of educational institutions has always been a feature of Delhi. Other major initiatives of the government include telecom, housing, power facilities, and transportation.

Conserve nature, Delhi has a large area which is a green belt so plant trees in these areas to promote diversity.
- 12. A Greenpeace report says, Delhi can generate 4.5 billion kilowatt-hours of solar power every year, which would meet 16 % of its electricity needs. - 15. Summary Delhi has recently been rated as the most polluted city in the world. The economic development witnessed over the last decade does not justify this lack of sustainability. However, till people become environment friendly, not much progress will be made.
