2. The Maintenance Of International Peace And Security
General James Jones, former head of EUCOM says that We are attempting to avoid Africa from
becoming the next Afghanistan or Iraq, (Paterson, 2008, p. 15). The maintenance of international
peace and security are the main responsibilities of the UN. The UN Security Council plays a
critical role in peacekeeping. Many peacekeepingoperations have been operating all around the
world since the UN was established. However, most of the peacekeeping operations have been
taking place on the African continent more than other continents. The continent of Africa has
become increasingly violent since the end of World War II and the situation has changed to be
larger and more complex. As a result, around 8 million African people have died in different... Show

It is clear that some of the UN missions have received many restrictions from the host country
authorities. Before the mission starts, the responsibility of the country s leaders is to make the
special agreement with the UN. The agreement is signed between the UN and the leaders of the
government. Based on the agreement, the host nation s leaders must support the UN
peacekeeping operations in order to establish a safe working environment. The peacekeepers are
supposed to achieve all tasks without any constraints from the host country authorities.
Nevertheless, in some cases, this agreement is violated by political leaders of the country. For
instance, in the Darfur crisis, Al Bashir, who is the president of Sudan, played to local fear. He
said that the UN forces did not really provide peace in Darfur because they wish to recolonize
Sudan and the UN military has a secret agenda (Paterson, 2008, p. 18). Additionally, in 2004, the
African Union (AU) peacekeepers begun to arrive in Darfur. The mission s name was AU
Mission in Sudan (AMIS) and was composed of about 7,500 soldiers and police from Nigeria,
Rwanda, Senegal, and South Africa (Paterson, 2008). After two years, the UN and AU decided that
the AMIS peacekeeping should be taken over by a UN force. The government of Sudan, headed by
Omar al Bashir, rejected any collaboration with the UN and noted that international military forces
on its terrain would disrupt its independence (Paterson,

And it was at that age ... poetry arrived in search of me. I don t know, I don t know where it came
from ... I don t know how or when ... there I was without a face and it touched me these were the
exact words of the great Chilean poet Pablo Neruda in a collection of his poems titled Love: Ten
Poems. And this is how we came to know of a world renowned poet s simplistic view and
philosophy of poetry. Even if at first, he did not know what to say, (his) my mouth had no way ...

Science can be found all around you, everything you look at contains some aspect of science
within it. Tracy K. Smith uses her poems to draw our attention towards the science used in
everyday life. Throughout her book of poems Life on Mars she uses mystical beings or characters
to help portray the science around us.
Smith starts off the book with a poem called Sci Fi (pg7); having science plainly in the name of
the poem she gets the point across that the poem does involve science. With science already in the
mind of the reader Smith is able to make any connection she wants in science and literature. This

Scientists look over the same calculations everyday looking for that one similarity or difference

W. B. Yeats, a somewhat eclectic poet, explores, throughout his work, a wide range of themes and
ideas. He reflects on his nation s politics, Irish mysticism, the afterlife, love, and his own past.
While each set of his poems share many recurring images, however, it is Yeats examination and
opinions of the gyres of time and history that crop up in all forms of his poetry. While references to
this great spiraling metaphor for the fabric of the universe can be found in some of Yeats most
famous works, such as Sailing to Byzantium , Long legged Fly and Easter 1916 , to name just a
few, it is an aspect of his poetry which is relevant to almost all of his writing. However, it is in

The creature described is, of course, the form of the ancient Egyptian sphinx. This metaphor is far
stronger than the one of the falcon, as the great beast begins moving it s slow thighs . The
creature represents an antichrist, a further image of this destruction of man. The blank and pitiless
gaze it gives emphasizes its lack of human emotion, and the brutal nature of its task. The, all of a
sudden, darkness drops , and the vision is over. Reflecting on what he saw, Yeats talks of the
nightmare to come, and that for the rough beast, its hour come round at last .
Overall, the poem sets out clearly what Yeats truly believes as the future for mankind. The structure
is also worthy of note. Usually, Yeats stuck strongly to established rhyme schemes and stanza
structures, however, in this poem he choses not to. While stanza one 8 lines, the second is 14, and
this emphasizes to some extent the lack of clarity in Yeats vision, as his description what he saw
flows out of him almost uncontrollably. Also, the lack of rhyme scheme indicates once more the
havoc and ruggedness of events to come, although word repetition does connote a feeling of the
slowly turning gyre, turning round and round endlessly.
The second of the two poems, Leda and the Swan , takes us back to the first era of destruction,
cruelty and war, before the epoch of Christianity. It tells the mythical tale of Leda being

Introduction Do you think grammar is important? Do you know the function of grammar? Can
you imagine living a life without grammar? Grammar is a set of rules for language. In this
chapter, we will cover general ideas of grammar, including the definition, history, development,
syntax, and how learners learn grammar. 3.1 Definition of Grammar Grammar is certainly a
common word, it may be a boring subject to you or an explorative subject that you want to probe
for. No matter what, grammar has been a long established academic term and it is an imperative
part of language. First, get to know the word grammar . The term grammar is derived from the
Greek word grammatikД“, where gram meant something written. The part tikД“ is derived from

Its content is rich and complex. It includes: 1) Syntax(how words are ordered to form sentences;
study of different sentence types); 2) Morphology(how letters/sounds combine to make meaningful
units); 3) Phonology(study of sounds/significant sounds (phonemes)); 4) Semantics(the study of
meaning) and Pragmatics(how to understand other speakers intended meaning) 3.1.1 Descriptive
grammar and Prescriptive grammar One basic distinction of grammar is between Descriptive
grammar and Prescriptive grammar. Descriptive grammar refers to the structure of a language as
it is actually used by speakers and writers, it is from living language and up to date. The language
in descriptive grammar is constantly changing, fluid and organic, it also describes reality from
authentic data. Prescriptive grammar refers to the structure of a language as certain people
(usually learned scholars) think it should be used, it emphasis on correctness. It is the unchanging
set of rules, which is seen as the idealised perfection . 3.1.2 Different Types of Grammar There are
different varieties of grammar, which is the different ways of describing and analyzing the
structures and functions of language. Apart from the basic distinction of grammar between

Abstract
This research paper will examine the concepts of psychopathology, or abnormal psychology and
how it deals with a various set of symptoms or behaviors that manifested by functional
impairments in a person s life. Psychological disorders (e.g. Major Depressive Disorder) and the
causes of abnormal behaviour have been understood by a various different theories and have been

In just one theory, Burton believed that melancholy could be prevented with a sufficient sleep,
music, healthy diet, and consequential work , as well as having a balanced social life with
friends and family. Moreover, in the period of 18th century, the theory of melancholia, which is
linked to a Major Depressive Disorder, had become progressively more challenged by electrical
and mechanical explanations; whereby, if a person exhibited a gloomy and dark state of mind it
was also proved that the person gave way to a depleted state of energy loss (Girdlera Klatzkinb,
2007). The term depression was derived from a Latin verb deprimere, to press down. Dated as
far back to the 14th century, the term to depress meant to bring down in spirits or to conquer
(AllDisease.org, 2011). Even though melancholia continued to be the leading diagnostic
expression, depression increased its frequency (its usage of name) in the medical field and was
a synonym by the end of its century. The DSM I (1952) (as cited in Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007)
refers to depressive reaction and the DSM II (1968) (as cited in Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007)
depressive neurosis, as words that define an extreme reaction to an identifiable conflict or an
internal circumstance (DSM, 2000).
Causes of the Depression It appears that psychological, social, and biological factors will all play a
role into the various degrees that cause depression. Many theorists believe that the depression

8. Analysis Of Roy Mottahedeh s The Mantle Of The Prophet Essay
Roy Mottahedeh is a Gruney Professor at Harvard University, where he teaches pre modern
social and intellectual history of the Middle East and is an expert on Iranian culture. Mottahedeh
started his higher level education journey at Harvard College at which he studied history, he then
received a bachelor s degree in Persian and Arabic at Cambridge University. While teaching at
Princeton University, Mottahedeh wrote his first book Loyalty and Leadership in an early Islamic
Society in 1980, followed by the McArthur reward that allowed him to release The Mantle of the
Prophet in 1985.
Mottahedeh writes a historical political story about the life of a Shi ite boy who grew up to
become a mullah. Mottehedeh refers to the boy as Ali Hashemi which is a fictional name for the
mullah himself. He mentions the various trends and events that occurred in the past half
millennium that built up to the revolution that took place in 1979. In doing so, he manages to
characterize the history and politics of Iran by telling the story of Ali Hashemi.
Mottahedeh attempts to focus on the importance of the education and how the travels of Ali and
many other Mullahs to the West helped create a new system of education in Iran. In addition, he
shows the style of Persian culture that revolutionary Iran was trying to abolish and at the same time,
provides a clear understanding to the reader about how Iranians felt about the various governments
throughout the 20th century. Furthermore, Mottahedeh

9. Public Sector Reform Around The World
In recent times, there has been a new proclivity towards public sector reform around the world
primarily driven by citizens, who are placing new demands on their governments for quality,
efficiency, accountability, transparency and better service delivery. Today, globally, the success of
any government is increasingly benchmarked based on social inclusion and citizens participation in
governance.
Advances in recent years have created an unprecedented case for change in the ways in which
public services work. There is a greater focus on effectiveness, efficiency and accountability and
far more demanding citizens who expect an increasingly high level of service delivery, comparable
to what they get from the private sector. At the same time, in a climate of budgetary pressures and,
in the drive for greater efficiency, government organizations are expected to do more for less.
Traditional government, originally built on principles of the industrial society is no longer able to
face all the complex demands and problems of the information society, with the trends towards
decentralisation and intertwining activities [8].
On the other hand, basic values, such as integrity, legitimacy and accountability remain important.
Governments are expected to adhere to core values, such as protection of civil and political rights,
equal opportunities and equal treatment for all [35]. The principles of good governance [36]

Advances in Swarm Robotics and the Stability of a Swarm
INTRODUCTION
Swarm robotics is the new approach to the coordination of multi robot systems that consists of
many relatively smaller robots. The inspiration of this is the social behaviour of many animals and
insects like ants, geese etc. the terms Swarm Intelligence refers to the collective behaviour that is
the outcome of the work of the smaller individuals, each acting autonomously. Swarm intelligence
is a property of systems of non intelligent exhibiting a collectively intelligent behaviour.
Since the 1980 s, swarm robotics has become a major area of research. As new solution approaches
are being developed and validated, it is often possible to realize the advantages of swarm robotic
systems.
In a paper by Dudek et al in 1993, the research on swarm robotics was classified into five areas
which are swarm size, communication range, communication topology, communication bandwidth,
swarm re configurability and swarm unit processing ability. In another paper by Cao et al, the
survey of cooperative robotics was presented in a hierarchical way. This publication was also split
onto five main parts: group architecture, resource conflicts, origins of cooperation, learning and
geometric problems.

Registered Nursing takes skilled and hard working people. There are many jobs in the Nursing
field. To name a few, there are: Hospice Nurses, Long Term Care Facility Nurses, ER Nurses,
Pediatric Nurses, Geriatric Nurses, Acute Care Nurses, etc. Hospice Nurses are jobs taken by
people that are strong hearted and strong willed. I had an experience with a HospiceNurse in a job
shadow. I went to the houses of her patients instead of a facility. We went to three different
houses to take care of her assigned residents. Her patients loved her very much and she did her
job with love and care. Three days after my experience with her, one of her residents passed
away. They had a great patient and nurse relationship. She was filled with sadness and I also felt
sad for the resident s family and other caregivers that cared for him. Hospice patients are only
said to live about six months or less. Not all residents pass away after six months, some live
longer. Hospice care is given to patients that are dying, but hospice can also go on pause because
the patient becomes more independent. The job of hospice nurses is to take care of the resident
nearing the time of death, not to cure their diseases. My job shadow said that it is always sad
when her patients go, but she knows that they are not suffering like they were when they were
living. The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization states, Hospice care professionals

Climate is part of our everyday lives. What we experience is the global climate system. According
to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, climate change is, a change of

that we may have, in fact, reached the tipping point for the climate change. Walker (2006) believes
that this man made climate change has caused havoc on the earths atmosphere and the most
striking of all the components is the arctic. Farthest north is the carapace of sea ice over the Arctic
Ocean. South of that is the vast ice sheet that covers Greenland. And then there is the ocean
conveyor belt, which originates in a small region of the Nordic seas and carries heat and salt

The U.S. should prevent Iran from developing or acquiring a bomb as it would pose a specific

important strategic allies of the U.S. The ultimate goals of U.S. policies towards Iran are to limit

International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) through new sanctions against and diplomacy with
Iran. Liberal institutionalism provides the best approach for dealing with security issues regarding

Discuss Disparities Discuss disparities related to ethnic and cultural groups relative to low birth
weight infants and preterm births. In the United States, there are disparities between the different
racial groups when it comes to low birth weights and premature births. Evidence of this can be seen
with information collected Reichman (2005). She found that African Americans have the highest
rate with this accounting for 13.0%. While whites are reporting 6.5% and Hispanics are seeing
figures of 6.5%. However, inside the Hispanic demographic there are differences in these numbers
as Puerto Ricans have 9.4%. These disparities are not tied to economic status with many educated
African American women having children of low birth weight. Whereas, there are differences
between select segments of the Hispanic population in contrast with other sub groups. (Reichman,
2005) Describe the impact of extremely low birth weight babies on family and society (short and
long term, including economic considerations, ongoing care considerations, and comorbidities
associated with prematurity). In the case of the family, low birth weight babies will place
increasing amounts of pressure on its structure over the short and long term. This is because
everyone will have to care more for them which will impact their ability to interact with each other.
At the same time, there will be greater financial and emotional pressures placed on the family from
the ongoing treatment of these children.

novel varies from different animals to things in nature. One of the biggest symbols throughout the
novel is fire. Fire has multiple meanings in Fahrenheit 451, and is usually symbolized as something
to be feared. Throughout the novel, fire is something that people do not want, even though it can be
so much more than a bad thing. Fire can represent knowledge and awareness, rebirth and
construction, as well as destruction. Fire is depicted, throughout history, as a symbol of knowledge
and awareness. Fire is usually a symbol that appears in novels right at a time when the main
character has an epiphany or realizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is said in ancient Greek and Roman mythology that burning the body helps the soul to be
purified and pass on to the afterlife. Though fire can represent knowledge and rebirth, it is
mainly depicted as a destructive force. In the novel fire is used to burn books which are
knowledge. By burning this knowledge the society was kept in a confined situation where the
amount of knowledge in everyone is evenly distributed. It was a pleasure to see things eaten, to
see things blackened and changed. (Bradbury 3) This quotation shows Montag s feelings towards
burning in the beginning of the novel. Fire destroyed the books. Fire destroyed homes. Fire
destroyed the light in everyone. The fire was not only used to destroy things but it kept the people
of society in line. The fire may have been represented as a disciplinary tool. By having a constant
source of the fire, people had fear distilled in them from the start. This made them subconsciously
obedient even though they seemed to be insubordinate. The overall theme of fire in Fahrenheit 451
is a feeling of destruction. With the right surroundings and intentions it was used for so much more
than that. It was used as a way to exhibit knowledge. Above all, though the depiction of destruction
is very influential, and the representation of knowledge is somewhat there, the most important

Richard L. Friedman s main argument in Aseptic Processing Contamination Case Studies and the
Pharmaceutical Quality System is: The author concludes that the sterile dosage form contamination
issues can emerge in the deficient design concepts and the daily operations of the pharmaceutical
industry determine safety and efficacy of drug products by analysis of 8 case studies. In this paper,
the following system deficiencies are mentioned: production system, packaging and labeling
system, facilities and equipment system, material system, and lab control. What I learnt from this
paper is the importance of supplier audit, rational design of validation method and facilities design.
Firstly, supplier audit is important. Although the author... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The good quality of the vendor s product can also help the customer to guarantee their finished
product quality.
Secondly, the rational design of validation method is very important. In the case study 1 Aseptic
Processing of a Sterile Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) , the process simulation (i.e., media
fill) program was not adequately representative of the actual manufacturing process. The process
simulation validation program is used to detect and diagnose an existing source of contamination.
However, some companies do not realize this usage, and the process simulation validation program
designed does not reflect the actual situation of production. Not just only for the simulation
validation, other validations, like analysis methodology validation, equipment performance
qualification, also exist this kind of problem, that is, the method used to validate/qualify does not
have a sufficient sensibility and representativeness. Many engineers do not know how to design the
validation method; even they do not like to perform the validation, but FDA mandates to perform
validation, so some of engineers copy with it just for FDA inspection, not for keeping the quality
of production. It is clear to cause the waste of manpower, material and financial resources. Good
validation design cannot only help to maintain a robust quality

Galatia took its name from these Galatian inhabitants (Williams, 19). Paul had passed through
Galatia during his ministry and he had preached and established churches there. The letter to the
Galatians was written around C.E. 51 and later tradition will assert without certainty that Paul
had written to the Galatians from Ephesus. Paul s letter to the Galatians is sometimes compared
with his letter to the Romans in the respect that the Galatian letter was written to a church that
Paul founded and visited where his letter to the Romans was written to a church he had never
visited. The Galatian letter was also very hostile where the Roman letter was friendly and joyous
(Kee, 5th Ed., 240). Paul had a great attachment to the Galatians. He makes reference to the first
time he preached the gospel in Galatia and how he had fell ill and the Galatians cared for him.
This marked the beginning of a tender, honest and privileged relationship with them and even in
the face of their doubt in his gospel, Paul was still able to refer to them as quot;my dear children
quot; (Jervis, 1). Paul wrote the letter to the Galatians because, after his departure from the
Galatian churches, Jewish Christian fanatics came into Galatia and corrupted Paul s Gospel of
man s free justification by faith in Christ Jesus (Luther, 9). His main purpose in writing to the
Galatians was to re preach quot;the truth of the gospel quot; (Gal. 2:5, 14). This would prove a

25. Communication And Verbal And Non Verbal Communication Essay
Communication, as described in businessdictinary.com, is a two way process in reaching mutual
understanding, in which participants not only exchange information, news, ideas and feelings but
also create and share meaning. It is a means of connection between people or places. Without
communication there would be no understanding between people and important information and
messages would not be correctly conveyed. This is why communicationplays an important role in
our daily lives and when not done or when done incorrectly it may cause many undesired issues.
There are two forms of communication: non verbal communication and verbal communication.
Verbal and non verbal communication:
Verbal communication is the use of language and sounds to convey a message clearly. There are
two types of verbal communication: written and oral. Written communication is the use of pens
and paper, emails, texting and any other form of contact using language and not speech. Oral
communication is the use of speech either face to face or via the phone or any form of
communication where spoken words are being used to convey a message. Non verbal
communication is the process of conveying a message without the use of speech or sound. There
are nine features of non verbal communication, I will speak about three: eye contact, facial
expressions and posture. Eye contact, also referred to as gaze, plays a role in showing the speaker
that you re listening and that you re willing to interact with them.

governance of society at international, national, regional and local levels . An exception is when
the texts make reference to specific governments, which disassociates the terms from each other.

Legalizing drugs in the United States would lead to great trouble for the country affecting all
citizens. Legalizing drugs will cause chaos among Americans. Edmund Harnett a deputy chief and

Harnett is also involved in the narcotics division of the New York police department. William J.
Bennett the director of the national drug control policy wrote a heavy article, Drug Policy and the
Intellectuals. James Q. Wilson has a political science degree and is the author of many crime
articles including, Against the Legalization of Drugs. Disorder is the last thing this country needs
from legalizing drugs. The legalization of drugs is undesirable because it would ruin relationships,
would harm the safety of everyone, and would promote violence.
Many people in favor of legalization feel that drugs would not have a negative impact of families
or other relationships. However, All relationships would be in jeopardy if drugs were legalized.
Suffering would be placed on the lives of many family members for their lifetime. Watching a drug
addiction is painful and would most likely cause grief between relationships. Drugs create trust

After the success of her popular Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling has recently branched out
from writing children s literature. Her first adult novel, The Casual Vacancy, explores more
mature topics and is aimed at a new demographic than her previous works. She challenges social
issues with her dark themes and her impeccable writing style captures the wide range of
problems at the heart of a small town. It becomes more apparent throughout the novel that each
character is connected in a web of misfortunes. Each individual has their own flaws and it

little town (Tait). J.K. Rowling s The Casual Vacancy, Krystal Weedon is the troubled hero of
the novel as she struggles to overcome difficulties in her life after the death of her mentor, Barry

31. Foundational Biblical Worldview
Paul is writing the book of Romans as an occasional letter to the believers in Rome, whom he has
never personally met, but desires to connect with very soon. It appears to be a pastoral letter
written in an apocalyptic style, because he is dealing with a church that needs direction. He is
writing boldly to them to encourage unity as Gods people. Romans 15:15 attests to the strength of
his message when he states, I have written very boldly to you on some points . Paul is in essence
building a framework of beliefs for believers to view the world around them (Caner Hindson. 2008.
Pg.498). Romans though not a systematic theological message, chapters 1 8 are strong truths for a
foundational biblical worldview.

This movement didn t happen overnight, but it is a production of the human nature. The human
or sinful worldview demands for its own rights, its own way, its own desires to be fulfilled.
Continuing to build a foundational message with boldness, Paul explains that the reason God
sent the law was to bring our sin to our attention so we would realize how desperately we need
His grace. He points out that sin had already conquered the human race long before the Law
arrived, which is indisputably proved by the fact that sin had already produced death in every
human (Romans 5:21 New Living Testament). Sin and self separate us from God, grace brings
us near. Romans 6. Since we have united with him in his death, we will also raise to life as he was.
Verse 12 Paul remind believers that our life in Christ gives us power over so, Do not let sin control
the way you live do not give in to sinful desires.
A lesson that I have learned the hard way is that people will let you down, but God never will.
Another important aspect for a foundation of a biblical worldview is in human relationships. From
the beginning God intended for man to interact and be fruitful with one another in harmonious
relationships (Genesis 2:18, New Living Testament). But when man fell into sin, it brought about

However, misidentification is the main dilemma for most transfusion errors during blood sample
collection. This can include patients not being identified correctly during the time of the blood
sampling or transfusion administration, or the mislabeling of products such as tubes or the blood

should be worrying about the completely preventable fatal reactions healthcare members can hinder.
With close attention and hospital enforcement of strict procedure guidelines, safety and accuracy
throughout the transfusion process is possible.
Several healthcare associations have taken interest in minimizing misidentification. Many have
even taken steps to help diminish frequency. The Joint Commission has issued a national safety
patient goal that states Eliminate transfusion errors related to patient misidentification. The
elements of performance for this safety goal include that the following should be done before
performing a transfusion: blood should be matched to the order, the patient should be matched to

patients quickly and efficiently. By using a two person identification process they hope precision is
easily attainable. The two identifier check is a widely recommended patient verification process

Lastly, the dramatization by news programs today produces a glamorization of crime. News
stories on crimes are extremely popular due to the fact that audiences remember bad news much

gruesome murders, wars, and scandals. An estimated 71 million viewers across the country tune in
to their local newsstation s broadcast (Yanich, 2004, p. 537). It can easily be assumed then that an
estimated 71 million people will know the basic details of a crimethat their news station is
broadcasting. Crimes and their corresponding cases are exceedingly well known by viewers at
the time when they are broadcasted; people know the names of the suspects, victims, and the
main details of the crime itself. As posited in Yanich s article (2004) on crime and the media,
The media s treatment of and its relationship to crime and justice policy has received much
attention. (p. 535). With all of this attention on crimes in the news it is not surprising that in
many instances alleged or even convicted criminals are seen as celebrities. These criminals
receive ample airtime, and in many situations crimes and criminals that are highly broadcasted in
the news are often later turned into big blockbuster movies. Movies such as Psycho, Bonnie and

Techniques of Waste Heat Recovery
Waste heat recovery is being more used more and more often today as it is becoming more

process, recovering the energy for other onsite use and using it to generate electricity in combined
heat and power systems. Once the system has been made as efficient as possible before using
waste heat recovery, passive strategies are used. These have no significant input for operation

Run around coil exchangers
These are quite similar in principle to the heat pipe exchanger. The heat from the hot fluid is
transferred to the colder fluid via an intermediate fluid. One coil of this closed loop is installed in
the hot stream; the other in the cold stream and the circulation is maintained by means of a pump.
This application is used when the hot and cold fluids are located far away from each other and not
easily accessible.
Economizers
Used in boiler systems an economizer is used to pre heat the boiler water or combustion air using
the flue gas, in low to medium temperatures. These are used in domestic cases as well as in large
factories. They can increase the net thermal efficiency of a boiler by up to 15%.
Waste heat recovery boilers

tubes containing water. The water is vaporized in the tubes and collected in a steam drum from
which it is drawn out for use as heating or processing steam.

Cervantes Don Quixote and St. Augustine s Confessions
Christianity teaches that in order to be able to truly serve God, one must give up worldly pleasures,
which are deemed selfish. Throughout literature, many authors touch on this subject, some in very
direct manners. Such is the case in Cervantes Don Quixote and St. Augustine s Confessions. In
excerpts from each, the narrator describes how he had undergone a change from relishing in
worldly and selfish activities to renouncing such immoral pleasures in order to follow the moral
path to God. As each passage progresses, the narrator tells of his past and his new thinking in the
present, and ends by praising God for His mercy. Throughout the passages, several dichotomies

Also, as he describes the emotions he felt while watching shows, Augustine uses the past tense: felt,
had, became, gave. In this manner, there is a clear emphasis on the fact that the feelings he
mentions are not what he feels now, which is important because he feels his past beliefs were
immoral.
Throughout both of the passages, the word now is repeated many times to show the contrast
between each man s past and present. Now also serves as a tool for Don Quixote and Augustine
to express the negative feelings behind objects from their pasts. Don Quixote states that he is
now...the enemy of Amadis of Gaul, a well known novel of chivalry that he had revered. By
calling himself the enemy, Don Quixote emphasizes that he no longer believes in the stories he
once loved. In fact, those stories are described as profane as Don Quixote tells his friends that such
novels are odious to me now. Continuously, the word now reappears, showing that Don Quixote has
abandoned his former ways and wants to prove that he is different in the present.
Augustine also describes his new feelings with the words but now, which show an obvious shift
in opinion. What Augustine once found pleasurable is now pernicious, and his former source of
joy he now views as vile. These two words are extremely strong, and express to what a great extent
Augustine has altered his beliefs. In both passages, the narrator employs a great deal of negative
words to illustrate

On June 23, 1972 Title IX of the Education Amendments was signed and put into action. Many
people think of this title as the right of women to be able to participate in sport. Title IX was
enacted to give women the rights to go to college and receive financial aid, along with also being
able to participate in sports. After the title was enacted women would be able to have the same
rights as men when it came to education, financial aid, and sports. Title IXhas been enacted for
forty years and many women have been able to advance in sport and business because of the
liberties that Title IX gave to them. Even with all the good outcomes there may have been some
negative outcomes as well. Has Title IX accomplished everything that it was meant to? Or is it
something that had an effect and made some changes but is still a work in progress? When there
is any type of discrimination it will always take time for an act, opposing it, to have an effect
and start to make a change. When Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation to
set all of the slaves free there weren t many people who where very happy about it; and it did not
make all of the discrimination against African American s go away. It took time and effort on
both parts and there are still areas in our nation where we can still see discrimination, against
African Americans, today. The same goes for the Title IX act. It took a while for women to break

The environment that they are in causes many of the Native Americans in this area to be
troubled and live poor lives. He moved to Seattle for college but failed out. After that he worked
blue collar jobs. It seems that all the Indians in the story he mentions are always working these
rough blue collar jobs. They go to the bars after long hard work days or they come in from other
areas on fishing boats with some money, but nothing after that (13). They wait for the boats to
come back , but never do and after that there is no other opportunity for them. It is either they

chance to better himself, partly because of his alcoholism, but also because of where he has come

I thought very carefully about what religion I would pick for the final project. What eventually
motivated me to choose the Church of Scientology is the construction of a multimillion dollar
chapel and community center on E. 125th St, which is very close to my community. This is a
strategic attempt to expand the Church of Scientologys base from more affluent areas to urban areas
with younger people.
Whenever I come home from Marist I have to take the Bx15 bus at 125th street to get across the
river to the Bronx. My commute takes me right passed the new Church of Scientology building and

Initially Dianetics developed as a self help system, subsequently Hubbard established his ideas
into a wide ranging set of principles and rituals as part of a new religious movement that he
called Scientology. By August 1950, Hubbard s book had sold 55,000 copies, was selling at the
rate of 4,000 a week and was being translated into French, German and Japanese.
An important segment of Dianetics is auditing which is defined as, the application of Dianetics
or Scientology processes and procedures to someone by a trained auditor. One formal definition
of auditing is: The action of asking a person a question, getting an answer to that question and
acknowledging him for that answer. Auditing in the framework of Dianetics or Scientology, an
activity where a person trained in auditing listens and gives auditing commands to a subject, who
is referred to as a pre clear , or more usually as a pc . Auditing sessions are confidential, the notes
taken by the auditor during auditing sessions, and kept in the pc folder . Auditing involves the
use of processes, which are sets of questions asked or instructions given by an auditor. When the
specific objective of any one process is accomplished, the process is concluded and another can
then be used. By doing this, the pc are said to be able to free themselves from unwanted barriers
that inhibit their natural abilities like fear, grieving or

44. American Conquest Feelings Analysis
American Conquest Feelings Essay It is not often that you read a story where the American
soldier is the bad guy. Miller does a great job of portraying the conflict for what it truly was. He
does not give an anti American tone while writing the book, like many other critics have. I think
that we have a lot to learn from this conflict. America is the greatest country, with the greatest
beacon of life and liberty than any other country in history. With that being said, we must not turn
our head from the atrocities that Uncle Sam takes responsibility for. Studying the tainted corners of
our history provides us with the ability to learn from experience. After reading this piece of the
book, I think America is not a fraud. I don t think

Human trafficking in a global economy has resulted in the commodification of human souls. In this
nomenclature of institutionalized proliferation of terror in a post conflict, post communist

the sex trade. As Bosnia entered into bloodshed with the members of former Yugoslavia between

Further, with Bosnia s postsocialist change, pornographic directors, brothel owners and pimps
seeking new talent for sex tourism amongst others, congregated to the war torn states to sell, buy
and negotiate other business deals with former Yugoslavs desperately seeking to improve their own

Another factor that greatly influenced the influx of trafficking in Eastern Europe has been the
rearrangement of the international labor market and of social inequalities including nationality,
gender, race, class and citizenship that have differentially shaped this reorganisation of the labor
market . It is cofounding how essential class is as a variable in sex trafficking, subdivided into
the following: poverty, urban and rural areas. In this crossroads of east and west and with the fall
of Balkan territories it suddenly became easier and cheaper to move women from Eastern to
Western Europe . As traffickers capitalized on porous borders and relied on political and military
instability to glide across states without interruption, allow traffickers to create supply chains to
satisfy the growing demands for sex workers across the Balkans and Eastern Europe.
The gendered nature of the trade conceptualizes from laws, customs and taxes that have historically
and universally disseminated the economic exploitation of female sex work . This gender biased

50. The Epic Of Beowulf By William Shakespeare
To be a hero it was meant that you were a great warrior, but still have the values of being kind
and modest. Before Beowulf arrived to Herot he was known for his heroism, which was shown
again and again during the fight with Grendel, the fight with Grendel s mother, and his final battle
with the dragon. While his heroism was shown at each of these events, there were changes in his
heroic nature over time. Regardless of these changes, he was still seen as the mighty hero
throughout the epic poem of Beowulf. As Beowulf was making his voyage to Herot from Geatland
to help fight Grendel, the Dane s already knew of his heroic nature and how amazing he truly
was. He was brave and courageous, doing many things that others wouldn t dare do in their right
minds. He was incredibly strong unlike any other man, and was the son of Ecgtheow, the King
of Geats. There was no one else like him alive. / In his day, he was the mightiest man on Earth,

that. As a leader of the warriors, he was well respected for his bravery. The man whose name was

51. Five Forces Analysis
The enthusiasm and excitement of starting a new business can quickly diminish when you
realise you are faced with the task of analysing the complex business landscape that is spread out
in front of you. The number of factors to consider can be overwhelming leading to errors in
judgement and unnecessary risk taking. This article aims to assist you in tackling this process
by providing a simplified overview of the Five Forces Analysis model. This is not a step by step
guide, nor a list of dos and don ts, but rather a set of factors that should be considered when
assessing the competitive intensity and attractiveness of a market. The Five Forces Analysis was
created by Harvard Professor Michael Porter in 1979 and it provides a framework for industry
analysis and business development. Porter proposes there to be five forces which either inhibit or
prohibit a company s ability to succeed in a given market.
1.Threat of new entrants
2.Threat of substitutes
3.Bargaining power of buyers
4.Bargaining power of suppliers
5.Intensity of rivalry
Threat of new entrants
A market is much more attractive if it is difficult to enter. This may sound odd at first as it seems
more logical to pursue a market that is easy to enter. However, if you can do it so can everyone
else, and if it is extremely easy for other businesses to enter a market with little skill, experience or
start up costs you will find it extremely difficult to create and capture any value from that market.

From a Little Girl to a Young Woman
. The day of my Quinceanera started early. I had just turned 15 and it was the birthday I had always
dreamed of. I was always a dama in other Quinceanera s, but now it was time for my own
celebration. In Mexican culture, a dama is just like a bridesmaid. I had 14 of my closest friends as
my dama s to be a part of my court of honor . All 14 girls wore beautiful hot pink dresses and had
polished hairstyles. The girls looked like beautiful dolls. When my mother was a little girl she had
two Quinceanera s. One celebration took place in Mexico and the other here in California. Looking

Somehow, I managed to keep a smile on my face as if I had no fears. The ceremony included Bible
verses and singing. I received six gifts from my aunts and uncles: a Bible, a bouquet of flowers, a
ring, a bracelet, a rosary and a tiara. Each of them was blessed by the father. Each gift I received
held a meaning: closeness with family and with God, and the passage to womanhood.
Later that day, the celebration continued with a party at Eagles Banquet Hall. As the festivities
started, I was so happy about the night to come. My court of honor was introduced as they led me
into the celebration. We started out the night by performing a traditional Quinceanera march. It
was a choreographed routine that we practiced for five months leading up to that day. My father
came out with tears in his eyes and softly removed my ballerina slippers from my feet and
replaced them with a pair of woman s heels. With tears in his eyes, he grasped and hugged me so
tight it was as if he didn t want to let me go. My father and I started to dance the traditional father
daughter dance. As the song was coming to the end, my father whispered in my ear, You re a
beautiful young woman, but you will always be my baby girl. At that moment, tears filled my
eyes and I realized how much love my father had for me. I will always remember that moment for
the rest of my life.

itself (Kotler, Bowen, Makens, 2010). Thus, Mr. Hammer, CEO of McDonald s Switzerland

Place
The Golden Arch hotel was located a few kilometers away from the Airport and close to the

only one to find the location attractive, as big competitors such as; Mövenpick and Novotel
