Investigate allegations of child abuse (physical, emotional & sexual), neglect, and exploitation.
Provide crisis intervention, and case management/planning, and stabilization to families referred to
DCFS due to abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Prepare initial assessments, recommendations, and initial court petitions.
Engage families in community based teaming with relevant service providers & ensure linkage to
referred resources.
2. Family Maintenance, Reunification & Permanency(Adoptions & Legal
Guardianship)
Focus of treatment: Family Preservation or Family Reunification. When families are unable to reunify
an alternative permanent plan will result in Adoption or Legal Guardianship. For adolescents unable for
adoption/legal guardianship, treatment will focus on successful emancipation and transition to
adulthood.
Provide direct practice clinical case management & psychotherapy to clientele, including, children,
parents, and families.
Conduct monthly assessments, collecting relevant information, from parents, foster parents and or
service providers to ensure and promote child safety.
Maintain case files in accordance with DCFS /Federal/ California State laws and regulations.
Prepare Court Case Plans to ensure child safety by assisting individual and families with family
reunification, family maintenance and or child placement permanency (legal guardianship, adoption,
emancipation).
Monitor and keep record of parents’ & children’s medical, dental, developmental, educational, and
mental health prognosis.
Actively participate in following meetings: Individualized Education Program, Child Family Team, and
Multidisciplinary Case Planning Committee as needed.
Provide case management/planning, and linkage to families and individuals to public assistance
program, domestic violence program, mental health services, family preservation referrals, and regional
center services.
Prepare Court Reports (assessments & recommendations) every 2-6 months and mail out court notices
to individuals and families to certify compliance with Superior Court of California/Juvenile Branch.
