Pick one thing you found interesting.
What would it be?
Instructions
Your task is to simply write an organised essay where you explore an opinion
you have about something interesting in your chosen book.

It could be anything…
Some popular subjects in the past have been
• The message
• The Mad Hatters Tea party
• Change that Arthur goes through
• How I would have reacted in that situation
• Why Alice comes off as annoying
• What Alice learn from the characters she meet
• How Marvin is more of a symbol than a mere robot

Lastly: don’t forget to follow the structure closely, your teacher
marks that too. Have a look at the instructions on pages 252-255 in
Blueprint
Introduction
An introduction has a catchy sentence, which makes your essay interesting, and a
basic retelling of the story. You have got three things to think about here:
1: Tell us in a sentence or two why you find the book or what you will write
about interesting. Let us know the title of the book you have read
and tell us who wrote it
2: Give us general information about some of the events in the book.
3: Finish off with a thesis where you explain what you, specifically, will write
about and why

Don’t forget the why part people, please.
Possible introductions?
Alice’s adventures in Wonderland is written by Lewis Carroll. It starts with the curious
Alice, who follows a rabbit into a hole, ending up in the mysterious Wonderland. Here
she starts exploring, going through challenges and meeting lots of new people, all of
them being different.
The Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy is a sci-fi book written by Douglas Adams and this
thrilling and wacky story is about the main character, Arthur. Arthur gets his house
demolished and shortly after, his planet as well. His friend Ford just happens to beam
them onto a Vogon ship. Ironically enough the same alien race that was behind the
destruction of planet earth. After several mishaps in communicating with the vogons
both Ford and Arthur get thrown out of the ship. Just before suffocating in space they
get picked up by the ship Heart of Gold. In only this small part of the book Arthur has
made significant changes in his views on being in space.

How about this one…
I’ve been reading Lewis Carrolls book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In the book we meet strange little Alice and
some of her unexpected new extraordinary friends in a crazy world called ‘’Wonderland’’. The story starts with Alice
following her sister to the bank, meanwhile she was there waiting she got bored until she spotted a white rabbit
wearing a waist coat. She followed the rabbit down a rabbit hole and ended up falling a long fall into a hallway full of
doors. She looked through some keyholes and in one of the keyholes she spotted a beautiful garden. She couldn’t get

out from there unless she either found a key to the door or if she shrank to the size of the keyhole, which she did when
she found a small golden key on a glass table that fitted a small door and a potion labeled ‘’drink me’’. Alice has

learned from school that one shouldn’t drink strange things, but Alice was too curious so she drank it and shrank. After
she had shrunk she noticed that she forgot the golden key that was on a table. Alice starts to cry but stops herself after
a while and pulling herself together. Suddenly out of nowhere a small glass box appeared containing a cake that is
labeled ''EAT ME''. Alice eats the cake without a doubt and nothing happens directly but after a while she grows to her
normal size. Then a new problem occurs, she could reach the key but she is too big to go through the door and she
starts to cry again. In the start of the second chapter she notices that she is shrinking and that she is almost swimming

in a pool of her own tears. She finds a spot to go ashore. There Alice meets a strange party of talking animals consisting
of mices, owls and much more.
Or this one…
During the last couple of months I have been reading The Hitchhiker's Guide
to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. The purpose of this essay is to compare the
novels and the movie adaptions differences and the similarities. I will also
compare them and later on see which version of the story that I thought was
the best.
The book is about Arthur Dent, a normal man from England who one day
wakes up to find a big yellow bulldozers trying to knock down his house in
order to make room for a freeway. Arthur has a friend since 15 years back
named Ford Perfect who comes from a small planet named Betelgeuse. One
day, Ford takes Arthur to a pub and explains that the world is about to end.
Ford wants to save him and decides to take him along on a journey in outer
space. The book was written in 1979. In 2005 it was released all around the
world and a movie based on the book was created. Wikipedia, The
