The authors, Feiock et al. (2009) introduction sets to establish
purpose of study. Specifically, Creswell (2009) suggested
introductions "set the stage" for a study (p.97). Feiock et al.
(2009) introduction explored deficiencies, the purpose problem,
and the meaning of the study for certain parties (Creswell,
2009). Feiock et al. (2009), documented cooperation and
collaboration among jurisdiction and the economic link that
influenced governmental behaviors, essentially the focal point
for the study.
Feiock et al. (2009) introduction relates to Typology Research
Purpose: Inform Constituencies, (Newman, I., Ridenour, C. S.,
Newman, C., & DeMarco, G. M. P., 2003). Feiock et al. (2009)
content related to aspects of Newman et al. (2003) typology.
Demonstrated attributes of Inform constituencies research
purpose includes, describe the problem, heighten awareness, and
inform the public, among other attributes (Newman et al.,
2003). Feiock et al. (2009), included content that suggested the
study would reveal information explaining certain community
behaviors. Further, Newman et al. (2003) introduction initiated
awareness and described present practices of joint economic
ventures, both characteristics of Inform Constituencies purpose
of research (Newman, et. al., 2003).
Additionally, Feiock et al. (2009) suggested their study, “will
show serious underlying service problems” (p. 8), essentially
informing the public (Newman et al., 2003). The authors also
pinpointed, the role of politicians in cooperative and
collaboration efforts among jurisdictions (p. 9),such
information results in awareness and solicits data from parties
who are affected by the program (Newman, et al.,2003.
As Creswell (2009) suggests, an introduction is an establishing
point and initializing information that identifies a problem.
