INTRODUCTION.
Billboard is an American music magazine, headquartered in New York and
owned by Prometheus Global Media. It was first published on November 1,
1894, and is distinguished as being among the oldest trade magazines in the
world. The magazine originally focused on bill posting and outdoor
amusements before specializing in the music industry in the
1960s. Billboard maintains several internationally-recognized record charts,
which track the most popular songs and albums across several categories on a
weekly basis. Its primary charts, the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200,
respectively rank the top songs and albums regardless of genre, and are based
on digital downloads, radio airplay, and internet streaming.
Billboard is consulted every week by music professionals for exclusive charts,
latest news and analysis of all sorts of music. Billboard is the only music
magazine to have attained such high music magazine publication rate to reach
the most influential audiences resulting in trend setting on a massive scale.
TARGET AUDIENCE.
The Billboard Magazine has a very wide
variety and range of target audience.
Mainly ranging from early twenties to
mid-fifties. This makes clear that this
magazine is found to be appealing to a lot
of people. And due to Billboards distinct
feature of capturing all genres of music it
is found to be attractive to all sorts of
people, especially music lovers. According
to a survey, the largest group of people
that contribute to its viewership and
college graduates and hence, educated
people. Which sets the standard of this
