4. TARGET AUDIENCE
A ge: 16- 26 from pools E and/or C2
Gender: male/female
Occupation: Student or working as something that inspires creativity
e.g. in a book shop and in a band during spare time
Annual Income: Student on minimum wage or someone in a job with
not a large disposable income
Current lifestyle: living with parents (if students) and if not at college,
living in modest flat/house with par tner or friends
Aspirational lifestyle: to be in a successful band or to work in
media
Culture/media interests: skater culture, or musical/band
member who regularly attends festivals such as Download/Noz
and concerts
Buying habits: Vans, Converse, band merchandise, Obey hats,
Parka coats
5. WHAT MUSIC WILL MY MAGAZINE COVER?
The kind of music my magazine will cover will involve
some mainstream bands such as My Chemical
Romance and Foo Fighters, and also some bands
that appeal to a niche audience like The Editors and
Of Monsters and Men
The information in my magazine will mainly be
covered by interviews with various bands and lots of
imagery
6. ST YLE OF MAGAZINE
The house style I plan to create will involve a
camouflaged theme, with the colours light green,
dark green and brown
The brand identity I plan to create
is one that is fairly edgy and alternative,
and caters for a niche and maybe more
obscure audience. The use of a colour
scheme that appeals to a male and female
audience connotes a unisex feel that I plan to
continue throughout the magazine
7. DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
It will involve two central images in the centre of
both pages so the information is around them
The information will be in the form of an interview
with a member of a mainly mainstream band (so
that the main feature appeals to a wider audience)
The font of the masthead will be different to the
font I have used for the rest of the magazine in
order to connote importance and originality
It will feature dates of upcoming concerts and
tours, exclusive information on new albums and
also revealing information about the love life,
hobbies and interests of the band member themself
