- 3. Advantages – answers cannot always be found on the internet or books. You can personally test the success of a music video. Reliable as it is collected personally. Appropriate to the specific time and place. Disadvantages – influential bias is hard to avoid. Can be expensive and time consuming.
- 4. Secondary Research This is a summary and collection of existing research in order to take advantage of previous examples – using other people’s research in your own work if appropriate.
- 5. Advantages – proven success. Tend to be reliable. Low cost. Disadvantages – need to be careful about which websites are selected (e.g. Wikipedia). May not be able to gather specific information as the research may not have previously been carried out.
- 6. Qualitative Research This is in depth research into a small group of people who have strong views on the subject matter
- 7. Advantages – can gain a wide understanding of the topic Disadvantages – it can be hard to avoid bias from the researcher's point of view
- 8. Quantitative Research This is collecting an overall view on a subject in order to identify a pattern or trend
