This document outlines the facilities, layout, sections, services, and regulations of the Saiacs Library, which has grown from a collection of 200 books to over 55,000 resources including books, e-resources, and periodicals. It details the rules for library usage, including silence, borrowing regulations, and self-service operations for checking out and returning materials.  Started with a collection of 200 books belong to the
founder principal Dr. Houghton. It was a humble
beginning.
 Today SAIACS library has
– over 55000 books, 1200 ebooks, 500 ejournals
– Logos 7 (scholars) library with 3900 e-resources
– 175 print periodicals, 6000 bound vols
– 150 CD/ROM Databases
– 100 Microfilms, 450 Microfiches

1. Stacks - Books can be borrowed from this section
2. Reference Section - Not for loan. Scanning of few pages allowed
3. Periodicals- Current periodicals on the mezzanine floor and bound
vols in the basement
4. Circulation Desk/Front Desk - issue /returns, photocopying and
other enquiries can be made
5. Archives - Old rare books and theses, maps
6. Children Section : Story books suitable for children
7. Newspapers – daily newspapers in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and
Kannada

5. General Rules
 Silence at ALL TIMES
 Transfer of borrowed books is prohibited
 Don’ts
– Writing, underlining on the pages of library books.
– Use of pencil/pens or any other hard materials as book marks
– Use of Mobile Phones inside the library
– Use of UPS connection for FANs
– No Bags and eatables
– No checked-out books to be brought inside the library except for returning
or renewing.
