Unit 2 Assignment Instructions
Research Essay Proposals
Before we can dive into our ideas in a major project, oftentimes we are required to
first propose our actions at wait for approval to go forward. Since this unit is
covering the many aspects of the research process, you will be required to take part
in this task before moving into the major research paper in Unit 3.
For this assignment, you are to write a 300-word minimum research essay
proposal. You will post this proposal on the created blog forum on Bb Learn. In
addition to posting your own proposal, you will also respond to at least one
peer’s essay proposal to give a thoughtful suggestion toward their project.
This assignment requires:
• Close attention to the requirements of a proposal, including:
o A working thesis statement
o A listing of possible research you plan to incorporate
o A statement as to why you want to explore this specific subject
o A statement as to how this topic follows the research essay assignment
• A thoughtful and helpful response to at least one other student’s proposal
Format:
• Write your blog post in Standard Edited English with complete sentences.
Since this assignment is a blog, you will not be required to follow any sort of
MLA formatting requirements
Assessment:
• This assignment is worth 20 of Unit 2’s 50 possible Process Points
Approval:
• Your instructor will review all research essay proposals and make a comment
on each post of whether or not the topic is approved. If your topic is not
approved, you must make a meeting with your instructor to work out an
approvable topic
The Research Essay Proposal must be posted on the Bb Learn blog by
Friday, March 3rd at 11:59 pm
At least one response must be posted as a comment by
