The study aimed to determine the prevalence of sexually transmitted bacterial infections and risk behaviors among freelance female sex workers in Cebu City. 46 freelance sex workers were tested for syphilis, gonorrhea, and non-gonococcal infections. 2.2% tested positive for syphilis, 4.3% for gonorrhea, and 37% for non-gonococcal infections. A survey found the sex workers' risk behaviors were not considered risky, though their knowledge on infections was low. The study concluded infection rates were low among this group, but their knowledge could be improved to further reduce risk.
