The researchers are conducting research to support the arguments and points in their documentary. The research will provide statistics and information to ensure the documentary is accurate and informative. It will allow them to have a strong argument backed by facts. The research will be presented in the documentary to strengthen their position on the topic. They learned that gaming has become a serious issue for students' education and health. This information will help support their argument. They decided on an expository, observational, and possibly participatory documentary style. They will focus on males aged 14-19 because research shows gaming is more popular in this group, and it will be easier to interview and get information from people in their own college and age range.

2.  The reason we are doing this research is to gain information and statistics to back
up our points and opinions in our documentary. By gaining this research it
enables us to make sure our documentary is correct and informational. We need to
do the research to allow us to have a strong argument as we have background
information on our chosen topic therefore our points will make sense and be
accurate/informing.

3.  We are going to use the research in our documentary as a way for us to argue our
question and its points. The reason for this is to strengthen our argument with
real gathered information and statistics etc. as evidence for our points given. The
research will be shown within the documentary as we will be using them to back
up our points/argument.

4.  We learnt that gaming within students is a serious issue within education. The
reason for this is that it is seriously affecting grades and it may not only just be
affecting the students grades, in fact it stems to many more problems ; health
issues , both physically and mentally. This is useful for our documentary as it
allows us to use these facts/information to back our argument/strengthen our
points.

5.  We have decided to use expository, observational and perhaps participatory. We
want expository as we want to be able to give our point of view and tell the
audience what they should be thinking and feeling. Observational as it is one of
the most popular modes in TV right now and it gives the audience the idea that
they are there and witnessing it first hand, fly on the wall style. Participatory as
it enables us as the filmmakers to get involved in the documentary itself and be
involved within the filming as a subject.

6.  We have decided on males aged 14-19. The reason for this is its easier to get
information through Vox pops from these people as they are within our college and
we are also the same age therefore can relate and perhaps also give our opinion,
our friends and fellow students are this age making interviews etc. easier to get a
hold of. The research helped us decide on this because we found out that gaming is
more popular within males and especially at this age.
