1. Regional Workshop for the Capacity Building of experts for
the National SOC Maps production (Mexico, one week during

2. Elaboration National SOC Maps in ISRIC of Costa Rica and
Cuba (3 weeks during June 2017).

for South America) with experts from 30 countries (18
countries from our Region).
OBJECTIVES:
• To identify the current state of the legal / normative and institutional
framework for the promotion of SSM at national and regional levels;
• To define joint strategies to
strengthen Soil Governance as
suggested in the World Soil
Charter;
RECOMMENDATION:
• Support, taking Jamaica as pilot
case, little Caribbean countries
that require technical support in
the development of their legal /
normative and institutional
framework based on successful
experiences of countries in the
region.
