This document discusses climate change and sustainable development. It describes how global temperatures have risen 0.85°C from 1885-2012 due to human activities like increased CO2 emissions. Climate change is causing sea level rise, decreased rainfall, threats to biodiversity, and increased death rates. To address these issues, a group of schools in Europe are taking local actions like installing LED lights and promoting recycling. At one high school, they are saving energy and reducing waste. In one neighborhood, residents are composting and using vegetable patches. The city of Pontevedra reduced road traffic by promoting walking and biking, lowering CO2 emissions. With sustainable policies, human impacts on the planet can be balanced.
