As the applicant, I hereby certify that the property referenced above
is not currently rented to more than four unrelated individuals, as
defined by “Family” in Article 11 of the Unified Development
Ordinance. (See below) Furthermore, I hereby certify that the
property referenced above will not be rented to more than four
unrelated individuals, as defined by “Family” in Article 11 of the
Unified Development Ordinance.
I have made the current tenants and will make all future tenants
aware of the definition of a “Family” as defined in Article 11 of the
Unified Development Ordinance, as amended.

and complete. I fully understand that it is a
crime to knowingly make any false
statements concerning any of the
information provided in this application.

Rental Registration Ordinance

  • 2. Changes Proposed on 12 June  Add civil process / administrative penalty  Require notarized affidavit as part of registration process  Require owner / property manager to provide copy of current lease upon request
  • 3. Summary of Changes  Includes civil process / administrative penalty  Notarized affidavit removed in favor of language on rental registration form  Allows the City to review the lease upon request
  • 4. Civil Process / Administrative Penalty  Fines range from $180 for the first offense up to $500 for three or more offenses  Fines structured to encourage payment within 10 days  Each day the violation continues is deemed a separate offense
  • 5. Language on Rental Registration Form As the applicant, I hereby certify that the property referenced above is not currently rented to more than four unrelated individuals, as defined by “Family” in Article 11 of the Unified Development Ordinance. (See below) Furthermore, I hereby certify that the property referenced above will not be rented to more than four unrelated individuals, as defined by “Family” in Article 11 of the Unified Development Ordinance. I have made the current tenants and will make all future tenants aware of the definition of a “Family” as defined in Article 11 of the Unified Development Ordinance, as amended.
  • 6. Language on Rental Registration Form Under the penalty of perjury, I certify that the information on this form is true, correct, and complete. I fully understand that it is a crime to knowingly make any false statements concerning any of the information provided in this application.
  • 7. Review of Lease  Allows the Administrator to request tenant names and contact information as well as authorizes review of the lease
  • 8. Violations  Failure to register rental property  Failure to provide required documentation  Providing false information  Continuation of non-compliance
  • 9. CRIMINAL  Court cost: $74  Default fine: $141  Deferral fee: $50  Fine range: $25 - $500  Fines assessed at Judge’s discretion CIVIL  No court cost  1st offense: $180-$200  2nd offense: $330-$350  3rd offense: $480-$500  Fines established by City Council
