This document outlines Renee Edwards' personal experiences with educational technology from kindergarten through college. Renee describes using various technologies in kindergarten, high school, and college, and her vision for blended classrooms in the future that provide flexibility for students. A challenge of teaching will be keeping up with new technologies students are familiar with.

2. OVERVIEW Renee Edwards. I started school in 1995 in Georgia. I graduated from high school in 2009 in West Virginia. I first went to college at UH M ā noa in 2009. When I finish my degree, I hope to become a high school math teacher as well as an elementary marine educator.

3. MY DEFINITION OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY Educational technology is the use of different types of technology in the classroom; not only to provide an alternative means to presenting/exploring information, but also to make our students more technologically literate in an advancing world.

5. KINDERGARTEN TECHNOLOGY Played games with my brothers on Sega Genesis or on our old Macintosh computer Giga Pets! Addicted to Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing!!! But had to get my older brother to help me pass some of the games :)

6. HIGH SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY Had owned 3 personal computers by this time, cell phone, and PDA. I would have considered myself fairly technologically literate My job required the use of a computer First experience with an online class

7. COLLEGE TECHNOLOGY 5 cell phones, 3 computers, and numerous gadgets later… Able to access the internet from phone, computer, ipod, and tv Fourth online course 90% of my non-online courses still ‘require’ use of internet and technology of some form.

10. MY VISION OF THE CLASSROOM OF THE FUTURE I would like to see every classroom have a blend of in-class and online components, providing students with flexibility and an opportunity to become self-disciplined

11. A CHALLENGE FOR TEACHING Besides the obvious (technical difficulties), I think keeping up with new technology that my students are going to inherently be familiar with will prove to be a challenge
