Technology and Me A personal timeline of educational technology By Anna Cantor
Overview My name is Anna. I started school in 1980 in New York. I graduated from high school in 1992 in San Jose, California. I first went to college at University of California at Santa Cruz in 1992 and graduated in 1996 with a degree in psychology. When I finish this degree (PBCSE), I hope to become a biology teacher.
My definition of educational technology Any tool that is used to research, organize, communicate, and evaluate information in an educational setting. The use of such tools prepares students to be successful in the modern digital age.

Kindergarten technology When I first started school in 1980, at the age of 5, classrooms did not have computers. By the late 80s, basic programming was taught to all middle school students in computer labs.
High School technology By high school, many students did have access to a home computers. I remember using floppy discs. I owned a Word Processor typewriter.
College technology I still owned my typewriter but preferred to use the computer lab for writing term papers The internet was rapidly entering the mainstream.
A vivid technology learning experience Amazing science photography! Intimate view of nature.
A technology I want to use in the classroom iPad..take notes, view images, go on the internet, read textbooks, complete projects, assessment, etc.
My vision of the classroom of the future NO MORE PAPER. Worksheets, textbooks, formal assessments, and presentations will be digitalized! All schools and libraries will have wireless internet connection.
A challenge for teaching Keeping educational techniques and content relevant to the modern world.
