Michael Hewitt started school in 1964 in Iowa and graduated from high school in 1977 in Wyoming. He went to college in 1977 at Central Wyoming College and hopes to eventually earn a doctorate degree to become a teacher of technology for other teachers. He defines educational technology as teacher facilitated, student oriented methodology utilizing practice with technological resources in an interactive environment to improve teaching and learning. When he was in elementary school in the 1960s, the major technology was occasional reel-to-reel movies, as there were no computers and students used pencil, crayon, glue, and paper. 5. Kindergarten technology When I was in Elementary the major technology was a rare reel to reel movie. There were no computers. We used mostly pencil, crayon, glue, paint and paper.

6. High school technology My high school only had two early word processors which were reserved for journalism.

7. College technology My college course work didn’t require a computer until 1999. I first learned word processing and layout for a journalism class. I took a beginning computer class and it helped me on the job so I went ahead to earn an ITS degree.
