This document provides information about class requirements for graduation and the freshman course registration process. Students must take a minimum of 4 credits each of English, math, and science, as well as credits in social studies, wellness, PE, content reading, finance, foreign language, and fine arts. For freshman year course selection, students pick one class each from options in English, math, science, and social studies, and two electives from choices like art, band, computer applications, and foreign languages. The registration deadline is February 14th, and changes can be made between March 6th-14th. Parents can get help through the school website, by contacting a guidance counselor, or attending informational events.

4. HOW DOES MY STUDENT
REGISTER?
• Have your student log in to PowerSchool
• Click on Navigation  Class Registration
• Next to each subject area, click on the Pencil icon and select the course for
that subject area
• For English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, there will only be one option to
choose from.This is what you’ll pick.*
• Choose 2 electives
• Choose 2 alternates… these must be different from your electives.
*If there are two math classes available, you may pick 1, or you can choose both and take 2 math classes as a
sophomore
