- 1. The magazine used a symbolic Category by using lighting and colour. The images uses bright colour’s and uses a signifier of colours such as green and blue which connotates and signified new life, fresh and enjoyment. Regional magazine deconstructions The technical section is also used to construction meaning of the magazine , for example the camera angle used is a long shot. The denotation of this shot being used is to let the readers have more of an insight to what Kent is like. This connotates and signified that there is more to see and enjoy than just what’s in the image. The regional magazine also uses the written section/code which tells the reader many semiotics. For example they use bold font to attracts the audience. However this connotates the reasons why Kent is actually a good lace to visit and reasons people should come where as the smaller font is what the newspaper don’t think re important and their may be some negatives that don’t appeal to readers. Reflection-From looking at the Kent regional magazine I have found out how important it is for the audience to see and identify the 3 categories which are (written, technical and symbolic); this is because it makes the audience feel like they are in the image and they have more interest to look further into the region. From reading this I think I am going to include and take inspiration from the bold writing and talk about original ideas my region has done .I will also be using a long shot as it tells the reader/target audience there is more to see then they think. Finally I have also chosen to use vivid colours to show positivity within my region. One thing that I wont be taking inspiration from in this magazine is what I chose to feature within the image and how I place my writing. This is because I will be taking inspiration from the theorist Ferdinand de saussureas my meaning will no have relation to the physical link on the page; Another theorist is Turner as my sign will follow the 3 key ideas for it to become a sign to the audience.
- 2. The written code is used on the front cover of this magazine to promote a competition within the region which gets people more interested as everyone has a competitive side inspiration . I will be taking inspiration of this feature for my regional magazine as I feel people love winning, Therefor they will want to find out more Popular activities and mentioned to get the reader more intrigued. A Written techniques that the magazine features is say that it is the magazine of the year. This means that people have a lot of interest in Cornwall and people are always looking for un things to do their. The magazine has used technical codes in their bright colours and the shot they are using to show the reader the beautiful images of the region. This represent to the audience how calm and relaxing the region is and just how nice it is to come and sight see. By using a long shot suggests to us that its not just one part that is beautiful there is a lot of good features within the region to look at. The target audience for this magazine is adults and a family . This is because the see is portrayed as calm which agrees with turners theory as it is refering to how calm and how opening Cornwall is. Reflection-I will be taking inspirations about target audience as I want to aim it towards families. The colours I will be using are very simular to this as I want to follow Nietzche theory as imply that the bright colours represent that you will have a bright and happy future in that region.

This entices the readers to the regional magazine as no everywhere has a sea side, especially as it is aimed towards families you usually see families go on holidays to the beach. I will take inspirations from this writing techniques as I want to get families attentions and tell them what else there is too see..This feature actually relates to Ferdinand do Saussure’s as the enlarged writing corresponds with the image on the front of the regianal magazine. Another code that has been used is technical. This is evident in the long shot they use to show just how beautiful one of the “gem seaside's” look like. The shot is used to enlighten the readers about what you will get visiting these beaches. The symbolic category is used with lighting and bright colours to stimulate the happiness you will get if you visited one of these seaside's. I will be using this techniques to represent th positivity within my region. I think I will be looking at this regional magazine the most for inspiration as the layout appeals to me as it is scattered nicely, the colours exaggerate the happiness of the seaside and they have included eye opening writing techniques.
