2. Regional identity
• Regional identity – a persons identity rooted
in setting, speech , costume and region in
which they live.
• It includes several sectors , these being;
Accents , Location/Setting, Slang , Clothes ,
Pastimes, Attitudes/Behaviours.
3. Liverpool
• Scouse accent. You would think about the
terrace houses and the council streets that
they live on and that they would wear
tracksuits and scruffy clothes. Also the
younger generation of ‘scousers’ would be
associated by hanging around on the street
late at night and causing trouble.
4. Scottish
• When you think of Scottish people you would
think of them to be wearing kilts or tartan
pattered clothing. They would have ginger hair
and maybe a beard. Also you would associate
them with drinking beer , playing the bagpipes
and eating haggis.
5. Newcastle
• When you think of someone from Newcastle
you think of the girls that would be very fake
and cosmetic. Partially this is because of the tv
programme , Geordie Shore.
