Donald Trump Beliefs
We live in this world conforming to rooted values and faiths that direct our knowledge of what is
right and what is wrong, and which inspires us to generate a sense of the world in distinct
approach. We attain and develop into our beliefs, and which are constructed into countless factors,
including the media, family, friends, and one s culture. With these factors, we may be able to
distinguish and analyze a few beliefs and values, and even other different factors may construct the
decisions we make without even being aware of them. Although, even with or without that sense of
consciousness, morals and ones faith plays a vital role in the factor of our lifestyle, actions, and
treatment of others. The factors of Donald Trumpand citizens influenced... Show more content on

The American people play a factor into why the US is falling short of its democratic ideals.
There are people who are losing their moral values and social media is a vital factor as to why
people have been encouraged to the loss of moral values. It is very simple and easy for one to
write something negative that can invade an individual s privacy and against one s religion. For
example, political leader Donald Trump uses Twitter as a place to share his thoughts, and
opinions about certain beliefs and factors. Social Media is very simple and just takes a click of a
button to post anything for the world to see. The powerful things the media can create are
alarming and needs to be viewed with more consideration to protect individual principled values.
In fact, people should be more conscious of how social media and the web brings influence into
other s lives. But, although it may suggest that the only values that are held by our society is the
idea of fulfillment, as if people do not care about individual actions affecting others. In present day,
all things are about instantaneous fulfillment. For instance, I have the power and ability to do
whatever I please to anybody, but they better not do it back to me. The example above demonstrates
the clear mentality that is being

Analysis Of Frantz Fanon s Black Skin, White Masks
Frantz Fanon s, Black Skin, White Masks provides an account of the detrimental effects of
colonization and racism for the black psyche. He depicts through the personal retelling of traumatic
objectification and through analysis of the productive and reproductive effects of collective
catharsis a situation of a social psychosis. According to Fanon, there is something unambiguous
about the situations of colonialism and racismthat affect the black man, the nightmares that repeat
colonial trauma and violence. However, Fanon discusses a specific type of trauma colonial
subjugation which results in the black man s self division of his two dimensions It is in this text
that he explicates the process of racialization as a painful and... Show more content on

The very moment the French fleets land on the Madagascar shores, injury without measure occurs
and produces a societal trauma that changes all relations. This act is the onset of the shattering of
both culture and the self. The colonizer has taken not only horizons...but its psychological
mechanisms the native s ability to produce their own selfhood. The colonization of Madagascar
thus resulted in a cultural genocide. The imposition of the imperial language on the colonised
subject in chapter one of Black Skin, White Masks wherein the black subject must unlearn their
own mother tongue and speak French in order to be part of his or her new colonial world. The
colonized subject, who is instructed to read and write in the language of their colonizer, speaks in
the very formulation of words with which their existence is spoken for them, and by doing so
upholds the notion of civilization in that language. Fanon notes culture still remains, but now the
Malagasy exists with the European and have lost their basic structure .
Akin to the Malagasy, Fanon had no access to his ancestral homeland or language, and similarly to
many other black subjects, this lack of personal and cultural history is a visceral bearing as the
trauma of colonization causes a shattering of the self. According to Fanon, the self comes into being
through the body so when the body is subject to colonial abuse, this violence is reproduced through
the self. More disturbingly however,

Relationships betwen Men and Women
Life is full of all different kinds of relationships, whether it is with co workers, peers or a
significant other. Building and maintaining these relationships is critical in living a fulfilling,
happy life. While there are many different kinds of relationships and they are all important,
romantic relationships are especially unique. Along with being unique, they can be difficult and
take work and dedication by both partners. The difficulties faced in these relationships can be
attributed partially to the differences between men and women. Theses differences range from
mate selection to attachment styles to the way in which problems are dealt with. First and
foremost, differences between men and women can be seen in the stages leading up to a
romantic relationship. Each individual has certain characteristics that they look for when
searching for a partner. While the list is endless, there are some characteristics that men weigh
more heavily than women and also the other way around. In order to find what these qualities
are, a good source of information is data from speed dating. In a well known study conducted at
Columbia University by R. Fisman, S. Iyengar, E. Kamenica, and I. Simonson, participants were
given a card upon arrival to the speed dating site and they were to use the card to indicate whether
or not they would like to see each person they would speed date with. Along with having to answer
yes or no, they would also have to rate each partner they met on

Anniquois Creation Story
The creation stories are very fascinating to learn about. There are so many different creation
stories that explain how man and earth are made. People have different view point of how the
earth was created. So let me give some examples, the Iroquois creation story tells of a father god
and a mother godthat are caretaker They lived high above the endless sea next to a tree of light.
Then one day the winds blew away the tree and the mother caretaker fell into the endless ocean.
She landed on a giant sea turtle. Creatures of the ocean began to help her create the earth in
addition, she made the land on top of the turtle. She also gave birth to mother earth and this started
the creation of man from mother earth s two sons. One created all the

The Causes And Effects Of Recidivism
With so many studies on recidivism and rehabilitation, and so few that were considered successful,
there were aspects that made many skeptical of why these programs simply did not work. Different
researchers conducted different types of research and came up with different results. Of the 231
studies that were finalized after making it through the rigorous elimination process, some
researchers seen the net widening process as the beginning of the entombed rehabilitationand
recidivism. Researchers did not coordinate their individual meaning of many terms, including
recidivism and rehabilitation. Whether it was for simply being arrested and charged, adding a
new charge all together, or taken into custody and being released. The diversity in the research
would become both the entombing and the rebirth on recidivism and rehabilitation. Researchers
seem to vacillate even more on the effects of recidivisms and rehabilitation we know very little
about the recidivism effects of various degrees of security, finding out will be compounded by the
probability that these effects will vary widely according to the type of offender that we re dealing
with (Martinson, 1974). Eliminating certain factors from the studies only skewed the results the
way the researchers wanted them to be viewed in the beginning. With each study of a successful
result, there is another with a failure result. Every program does not work on every criminal in
every situation. Having many programs can be costly,

Essay on Adrienne Rich s Diving Into the Wreck
Adrienne Rich uses many poetic resources in her poem Diving into the Wreck. In this poem a
diver goes on a trip to investigate a shipwreck in the socially accepted schema. Rich shifts the role
of the hero and the strategy for success in her second schema. In the second schema the hero goes
on a journey where she discovers her true identity, both female and male.
The hero prepares for the journey into the sea by reading the book of myths, collecting a camera
and knife, and putting on a diving suit. The diver is alone, unlike Jacques Cousteau, who had a
team to accompany him on his dives. She brings a camera because she will find things on her dive
that she does not want to forget. The persona wears absurd flippers and an awkward mask ... Show

The black waters can be seen as a metaphor for the realm unknown in the second schema. The
persona uses a mask to protect her from exposure, she must learn and adapt to her new
environment. The persona does not want to forget her mission, And now: it is easy to forget what
I came for (Vendler, 504). She has come to explore the truth of the wreck and she will not get
sidetracked. The diver has become a different person underwater, she even breaths differently in the
sea.
The diver comes upon the wreck and starts to explore it, she has come to see the ship s damage
and treasures. The diver states the purpose of her mission in the seventh stanza; she wants to
explore the wreck, she does not want to learn the story of the wreck. The persona is not interested
in the myth behind the wreck, she has come to witness it herself and see its threadbare beauty
(Vendler, 504). The diver can be seen as exploring the wreck in the first schema.
In the second schema the diver s exploration of the shipwreck is a metaphor for her search for the
truth. The persona sees evidence of damage on the wreck but she also sees beauty. The sea is no
longer dark and black, it is illuminated by the sun. The wreck could be a metaphor for the tragedy
women face when oppressed. The hero realizes the devastation caused when women s value is
denied, but the hero also finds the lost treasures of women.
The diver has a revelation in the eight stanza, she

The History of Nana Rao Park, Kanpur in India
Kanpur is a historical city and is believed to have been founded by members of the Chandela
dynasty and formed part of the state of Sachendi. The city s name is believed to derive from
Kanhiyapur (from the Hindi meaning town of Kanhaiya ). During the British era the name got
transformed to Cawnpore, and hence the city got its current name KANPUR. As an important city in
the Chandela dynasty, the city has a number of places of historical importance. The historical
ruins of the places help prove the city s existence to the era of pre 13th Century. Nana Rao Park
is the perfect place for nature lovers, longing to spend their time close to nature, away from the
hum drum and pollution of the city. The park is named after Nana Rao Peshwa, the legendary
figure who actively participated in the first War of independence or Sepoy mutiny in 1857.
The history of Nana Rao Park dates back to India s first war of the independence, fought in 1857.
This park was named after Nana Rao Peshwa who fought like a brave warrior in India s struggle
for independence.During the Siege of Cawnpore, Nana Sahib had negotiated surrender from the
300 British soldiers and their families in exchange for their safe passage to Allahabad. On the
morning of June 27, a large British column led by General Wheeler made their way to the banks
of the river Ganga where Nana Sahib had arranged 40 boats for their journey. Since it was the
summer time, the Ganga was dry, sluggish and plagued by mud banks which made

Comparing Buddhism, Jainism, And Hinduism
In Asia, many religious outlooks are what set aside the life of individuals. The three main forms
of religion that is practiced are Buddhism, Jainism, and Hinduism, all of which began in India and
made their way around the world. Though these three religious teachings have similarities in terms
of Karma, religious laws, and places of worship, there are differences that are held, much like any
other forms of religion.
In Hinduism, the concept of the almighty God (Brahman, Vishnu, and Shiva), who created the
Universe and have the proper powers and possession to destroy it. God is in everything that Hindus
seek. Buddhism and Jainism have different concepts, as there is no understanding of a God.
Jainism embodies Godliness, rather, and focuses on the practice of perfecting the knowledge of
peace and an infinite amount of bliss and power. Buddhists have continuously rejected an almighty
God or gods. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hinduism allocates their followers to devote their attention and love to the various gods and
goddesses of Hinduism, ultimately following the dharma. Unlike Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism
focus solely on the teachings of their founder, rather than gods and goddesses. Jainism follows the
teachings of Mahavira, where Karma is played as a major role on life on earth and the outcome of
incarnations into the heavenly and hellish realms. The teachings of Buddhism are for Buddha,
where an eightfold path is practiced in order to escape to mental cravings that are unhealthy to our
life. The goal for Buddhists is to attain the enlightenment that the soul craves and to be released
from the cycle of rebirth and death, attaining Nirvana. This idea of oneness in Buddhism stemmed
from Gautama where enlightenment was not gained through torture, only through self discipline
and self control

Disparities in Prison Populations Essay
DISPARITIES IN PRISON POPULATIONS Although we would like to believe the world is not
as racially charged in 2013 as it was in the 1960s, a look in our penal system would show that
minorities are still arrested and incarcerated at a higher rate than whites. The United States has
experienced a rise in its prisonpopulation over the last 40 years and our incarceration rate is nearly 5
times higher than any other country. Even though 13% of the US population are African American
males, they make up 38% of the prison population. Contributing factors to these numbers are
mandatory minimum sentences, high crimeand poverty areas, and lack of rehabilitative resources
within our system (p.77 78). In the 1980s, the United States started a... Show more content on

Minorities in these urban areas have a hard time finding employment that could support their
family efficiently. Most end up dropping out of school and join or are forced to join gangs. They
are more likely to turn to crime as a means of survival which increases their chances of building a
criminal history. This type of criminal activity also ties back into the Three Strikes Law (Nicosia,
MacDonald, Arkes. 2013) which states that the offender will be incarcerated on their third offense,
no matter how minor the charge. The lack of rehabilitative resources in the criminal justice system
leads to repeat offenders also. Although it should not be the responsibility of those in society
who are doing the right thing to pay for services for those who are incarcerated, we are doing
ourselves an injustice if we don t. If we are not providing rehabilitative classes, vocational/job
training, or some type of counseling while prisoners are incarcerated, we are defeating the
purpose of locking them up. Criminal justice referrals account for almost 37% of drug treatment
admissions (Nicosia, MacDonald, Arkes. 2013. p. 78). If we don t address the issues that got them
incarcerated in the first place, they will turn back to the only life they know that provided fast
money. I

I Interviewed A Former Babysitter Of Mine
For this assignment, I interviewed a former babysitter of mine, DL. DL is 25 years old and is
deaf. She has a hearing aid and a cochlear implant. I reached out to her on Facebook and asked her
if I could interview her for the assignment; I sent her the list of questions and she sent the answers
back to me.
She does not remember noticing that she couldn t hear; her guess is that her hearing loss was
from birth and very gradual, so she never noticed and thought it was normal as a kid. Her parents
noticed something was off by the age of 3 she had a severe language delay, didn t do well with

She thinks the most helpful thing a person has said to her about her hearing loss came from her
resource teacher (who was also part of the DHOH program). She says, I was writing an
autobiography for my homework assignment and I started it off with I m DL and I m hard of
hearing and my teacher gently corrected me and told me that I now had severe to profound
hearing loss and was considered Deaf. It was the first time someone explained the level of my
hearing loss (even though it was in simplistic terms) and it proved to be a catalyst for my Deaf
identity today.
DL got her first hearing aid at 5. Her father put in the hearing aids every day when she was young
until she was assigned a teacher to help her practice putting in the hearing aids. The teacher was
a DHOH specialist who pulled her out of class weekly to practice how to use the hearing aid,
changing batteries, and lip reading skills. She was considered a better candidate for hearing aids
since she had a mild hearing loss when she was younger and not deemed a good fit for surgical
intervention since hearing aids was the least invasive procedure for hearing.
Eventually, DL decided to get a cochlear implant. She started to realize that her hearing loss was
progressive; she went from a mild hearing loss at 33 dB to severe to profound hearing loss at 95
dB. At that time she had mostly

having fun with their friends. I was beyond glad that it was a cool rainy day or else we would have
been miserable in the heat. We borrowed a friends truckto go into town. We had discovered that
the right front tire was low on air, so we had went around Troy driving to find somewhere to
pump up the tire. Dad was so aggravated and concentrated on finding somewhere to pump the tire

But here in America, they were the forgotten heroes whom I look up to. They were named as
The Delano Manongs, kind hearted Filipino men, working in the fields with no families of their
own. I chose to report about the Delano Manongs because I went to one of the Filipino club

Complex Part Of The Brain Essay
The brain is a very complex part of the human anatomy. It has two hemispheres which control
different parts of the body and mental processes like breathing, thinking, and sleeping. The cerebral
cortex, which surrounds the two hemispheres, is just one of these complex areas of the brain
(Huffman, 2005, p.67). This part of the brainhas different functions for motor and sensory data.
Four lobes are the part of the brain are that is covered. These lobes have extremely important
participating roles in the human system, and without them the body would be unable to do
mundane tasks like talking or memorization (Huffman, 2005, p.68). These help to control more
functions and sending various messages to parts of the body. Continually, the two hemispheres of
the brain have four specific sections which control certain aspects of the brain: frontal lobe, parietal
lobe, temporal lobe, and occipital lobe.

The frontal lobes, located near the top of the brain, receives and creates messages from the other
lobes of the brain and help with talking, muscle movements, thinking, and more (Huffman ,2005,
p.68) In the left lobe, there is an area called Broca s area and is known to play a crucial part in
speech production(Huffman,2005, p.68). The frontal lobe influences our emotions, it also
effects our social behavior and how we interact with others (Lobes of the brain, 2014). The
frontal lobes, for they are so close to the front of the skull, are the most likely to injure (Lobes of
the brain, 2014). This is not good because the frontal lobes helps with self awareness and studies
have shown abnormalities in the frontal lobes of schizophrenic patients (Huffman, 2005, p.69). On
the left of the frontal lobes are where motor cortex is found (Huffman, 2004, p.68). When going to

Before installing the VPN services, however, a number of things must be taken into
consideration. By evaluating who is using the VPN, the hardware necessary to make good
connections, the pros and cons of differing connection protocols, and evaluating past security
problems, setting up the VPN services becomes a much smoother process. VPN s and Firewalls
Anyone who will be accessing the VPN services should have a firewall in place.Once a VPN
connection is established, the client is essentially able to access information behind the
company s firewall, thus creating an access hole. Therefore, insisting a client use and maintain a
firewall is another layer in the security of the VPN setup. The ease of changing the firewall rules
to allow VPN connections should be addressed. Very old firewalls, either appliance types or
software types, may be difficult or impossible to configure to allow VPN access.A small business
may stay with an old firewall for many reasons, one of which might be the fact that there has been
no reason to upgrade in the past. It would be prudent to check the firewall documentation before
becoming enmeshed in the VPN process, only to have it fail for lack of access, or creating a setup
that might be considered insecure. User Considerations When setting up the VPN server(s) at the
main office, who is using the connection and how much access to the internal network,

The Book Thief Rhetorical Analysis
The Book Thief, written by Australian novelist Markus Zusak, follows a young girl living in Nazi
Germany, and employs innovative techniques to convey the central idea of the extremes of human
behavior. This central idea was explored through stylistic techniques and conventions such as Death
as the narrator, juxtaposition, irony, lack of chronological order, narrative voices, and themes,
namely the power of words.
In The Book Thief, Markus Zusak used narrative voices to convey extremes of human behavior.
The characters through which he conveyed these innovated techniques are Death, the narrator, and
Max Vandeburg, a central character. Death s narrative voice was distant and provided juxtaposition

Sleeping On Satin
Sleeping on Satin
Satin is known to be a luxurious and romantic fabric for bedding, but did you also know that
sleeping on a satin pillowcase can actually have amazing benefits for your skin?
Friction
When it comes to cotton vs. satin pillowcase options, it comes down to friction. Cotton creates
friction against your hair and skin as you sleep. The lack of friction actually makes a satin
pillowcase reduce wrinkles because the friction is not causing tiny damages to your skin. This is
what makes you wake up with lines across your face that can linger for hours. These lines can

Michael Porter s The Competitive Advantage Of The Inner City
The essay The Competitive Advantage of the Inner City by Michael Porter, addresses the crisis of
inner cities, in particular, the economic distress and how to fix it. Porter discusses the advantages
and disadvantages of the inner city, and how previous efforts to improve the conditions of the city
have failed. Many past efforts were guided by the desire to meet the needs of individuals but not
the cityas a whole, even programs that were aimed at economic development were ineffective
because they treated the inner city as an isolated island (317), separated from surrounding economy
which favored local small businessthat did not bring in outside business.
Michael Porter is a renowned economist and professor of Business Administration at the Harvard
Business School, author of 18 books and more than 125 articles with topics that range from industry
competition to economic development. Porter was born in Michigan and went on to study
aerospace and mechanical engineering in Princeton from where he graduated first in his class and
with high honors from both the prestigious societies Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, which he was
also elected into. He is known as the c and is recognized worldwide for his take on competition and
company strategy, many say that his work has redefined the thought process related to competition
and economic development. Some of his most influential books include Competitive Strategy:
Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors, Competitive Advantage: Creating and
Sustaining Superior Performance and Redefining Health Care: Creating Value Based Competition
On Results.
In the essay, The Competitive Advantage of the Inner City, Porter explained the reason that
numerous past efforts failed to improve the economic conditions of the inner city were mainly
due to the increasing social investment in order to see growth in economic activity. However, in
order to create real change, we have to start with the notion that inner city businesses should not
only be profitable but also capable of exporting goods and services (317). Many would think that a
business in the inner city would not thrive because business prosperity depends on location,
however, it also varies on the way a

Marriage Private By Stephanie Coontz
For the past, few centuries the concept of marriage has become a matter of church and state. Those
who wish to become a married couple within the United States must get permission from the states
by obtaining a marriage license. According to Taking Marriage Private by Stephanie Coontz for
sixteen centuries marriagewas valid based upon the couples wishes. If both the man and women
claimed they had exchanged vows, then the Catholic Church would recognize it as a valid
marriage. Today all states require that a couple obtain a marriage license from the state if they
want the marriage to be legal and valid in the eyes of the state. Taking Marriage Private by

In the United States Constitution, the Ninth Amendment is often forgotten or not commonly
taught. The ninth amendment is often denoted as Enumeration of Rights. This amendment
outlines the human rights that were not written or protected by the Constitution or the Bill of
Rights. Marriage is a right. Everybody and anybody should have the right to marriage. Putting
rules and regulations on marriage is a clear violation of the United States Constitution and a
clear violation of our unalienable rights. Marriage has only become a way for the government to
collect extra tax money and fees. Marriage is only a business for the government. Instead of
marriage being a civil union of a man and a woman. It is a union between a man, woman, and
government. For many gay, bisexual, or lesbian couples privatizing marriage would allow them to
marry who they want freely without any government say. Therefore, no institution will be able
deny marriage to nontraditional marriage couples because of personal beliefs of government
employees or because of state laws. Supporters of marriage privatization believe it is a very
personal thing between two people who want celebrate their life together. Marriage after all is a
celebration of the connection between one another. Anybody should be able to marry whoever they

The Use and Misuse of Alcohol in New Zealand
The Use and Misuse of Alcohol in New Zealand . In many cities the crowd around the bar is so
thick that instead of filling glasses from the old fashioned beer pumps, the hotel staff takes the
beer to the glasses by long plastic hoses a dreadful sight to those unused to it (lawcom.govt.nz)
As these excerpts tell us, New Zeeland has long had a love affair with alcohol. The 6.00 clock
closing of bars was the first law to hit NZ bars in the early 1900s on the grounds that drinking
impacted the domestic harmony. This was soon followed by prohibition of hiring new barmaids
since it was feared that attractive barmaids enticed men to drink (Paul, 2006)). Both bans were
rescinded in 1962 and from the 1970s onwards there was a relaxation in bans on liquor. . Today
licensing requirements obligate food to be sold alongside liqueur in the hope that groceries will
domesticate the drinking environment and quell barbarities but there are a lot of parallels
between recent liquor related laws and the 1881 Act which directed local committees to monitor
and control licensing. The number of drinks sold depending on voters and between 1893 and
1918, voters even had the power to close liqueur outlets in their electorates. In 1911 the triennial
licensing poll on National Prohibition was introduced and this continued to regulate liquor until
1987. History has come full circle, since once again a Parliamentary committee is considering the
provisions of the Sale and Supply of Liquor and Liquor

Identifying and Hiring. The interviewee considered recruiting and identifying the right candidate as
the biggest challenge a human resource professional faces. They need to be good at identifying and

Employee Terminations or Layoffs. The interviewee also considered the legal issues that arise as

Management with metrics allows an organization to have a true measure of how it has reached its
goals and objectives as well as act as an evaluation and analysis tool (Rees Smith, 2014).
Ethical Issues Faced by HR Professionals
Some of the ethical issues faced by human resource professionals include:
Cash and Compensation Plans. There exist ethical issues pertaining to remuneration, executive
compensation, and incentive plans. There is pressure to raise the base of salaries or pay more
incentives to executives for the human resource managers.
Gender, Race, and Disability. Most organizations differentiated employees based on gender, race,
origin, status or disability until recently as the laws and regulations have standardized the conduct
of employers and employees. An organization should only differentiate employees on the basis of
performance and should avoid discriminatory practices.
Privacy. Individuals working in an organization have personal sides to their existences, which they
would want to be respected and not intruded. An employee might prefer that some details about
their lives are private and this might clash with an employer s need to do so. For instance, mail
scanning might be done if an employee is suspected to be misusing company resources.
Some of these ethical issues will not see changes in the near future. For instance, an issue like
compensation will always be a challenge as long as a company pays for labor. The issue of

My Career Path For A Teacher
On October 21, 2015 my cooperating teacher mocked me in front of my class. You see I was the
student teacher in a second grade classroom at Charles Olbon Elementary School. After class I
went home, locked myself in my bedroom and I started pondering my future and my career path.
I thought I would not be a good teacher, why did I choose this career path? I choose this path
because my friends and family saw me a teacher, but I guess they do not know the real me. In 2003
at the age of ten years old I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. My father saw me down at the
kitchen table and strongly advised me to go into an easy profession. He instructed me to become
a teacher, therefore I mindlessly agreed to his requests. Then when I entered college, I did not
enjoy the teaching classes and I told my friends, family, and fellow teachers. However everyone
told me the similar line: you will make a great teacher, you re just nervous cause you re almost
graduating, just stick it out and get your degree. I listened to others while ignoring my inner voice
and passion. Now fast forward to October 23 25th I ended up skipping student teaching to go into
the city for Robert McKees Story and Storynomics seminarclass. I consider myself a happy go
lucky person who is a positive thinker and dreamer however on this particular day when my mom
dropped me off at the bus station I was in a depressed state of mind. The night before I stayed in
my bed didn t eat dinner, and I just cried

Pawel Kuczynski s Art Essay
Phones are the easiest and most common way to get connected. Through his art, Pawel Kuczynski
is warning the audience of problems that phones cause among people. The artist has created many
paintings to convey the idea of technology causing people to become separated and disconnected
from one another. Kuczynski s art could be seen as a metaphor for young people, being connected
through technology but still isolated in loneliness. Phones are most likely the most commonly used
source of communication in the world; which begs the question of how they could possibly be
disconnecting people. The title alone, Islands, suggests to the audience a sense of distance and
isolation. That is also conveyed in the painting itself with the use of perspective... Show more

The title again has reference to the picture but doesn t convey the actual meaning. There is a person
scrolling through their phone while the snow falls. The person has been there so long that a snow
man was made on his back. This another great use of satire by Kuczynski. He has developed
such a playful way of calling attention to these overarching societal problems that no one really
seems to be talking about. The person in the picture isn t really living his life. All of his time has
been consumed with the phone that only has virtual images on it. It s crazy how technology has
done the opposite of what it was intended to do. Instead of playing in the snow with his friends
his just sitting out in the cold all alone. Every time I go out I notice fewer people communicating
with one another verbally. The common thought is that social media, phones, and just technology
in general connects people of all kinds across the globe. Connecting with people through the use
of technology has a few positives but what about the overwhelming negative aspects. Millions of
people can connect to children and other adults with horrifying intentions. Cyberbullying is
becoming prevalent in schools. Kids are being exposed to things they shouldn t be. Predators lurk
online all the time. Technology is expanding every day and more people are able to gain access to
it. A CNN article stated that

Summary Of For He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne
Love tends to be the topic of many poetic literary works, whether it be the joys that come with it
or the pains suffered because of it, but what can be made of the love that results in both? In the
poem, For He Looked Not upon Her, George Gascoigne already makes that message clear through
his title: sometimes, there is reason not to desire what we can not help but long for. When his
audience reads the work, they are meant to discover that reason behind why He would not look
upon Her . Through the speakers form, diction, and imagery that he utilizes in the poem, it becomes
clear that his tone towards loveis wary, yet also conflictingly longing.
Starting with form, we can split Gascoigne s poem into three parts that depict what love feels
like in the speaker s experience: lines 1 4, lines 5 10, and lines 11 14. In the first part, the
speaker almost seems to be addressing the audience when he says, You must not wonder... , but
it soon becomes apparent he is speaking to a specific person when he describes features in the
fourth line, About the gleams which on your face do grow. This means the first part is personal
to him and him alone. Then in lines 5 10, he offers examples of two creatures who learn from
past injuries, as if backing up a claim where he has somehow been injured as well. That claim
soon follows in the last 4 lines when he reverts back to his personal point of view, Because your
blazing eyes my bale have bred. The speaker is cautious of someone, most

A similar case occurred in California where a law has been passed prohibiting smoking in certain
public places. The state law prohibits smoking in most enclosed workplaces including offices
and restaurants. Gambling clubs, bars and taverns are exempt until January 1, 1998 or until
state or federal regulatory agencies have set standards which limit the amount of smoke in these
areas to such a level that is found to e safe, whichever comes first (OCAT). This law was soon
passed and almost all restaurants and bars became non smoking for the public. An identical law
was passed in New York called the Smoke Free Act that banned smoking in almost all the
restaurants in the city (OCAT). Erie County, NY banned smoking in open air arenas, lobbies, and
all enclosed places of employment. Also, bars must limit their smoking section to only 20% of the
whole bar (OCAT). Limiting smoking in areas like bars and restaurants would lead to the
assumption that the business will also be limited. On the contrary though, researchers at Cornell
University found that a smokefree policy for restaurants attracts more business and revenue that it
drives away (Cornell). Contrary to belief, cutting out the smoking completely in some public
places had a more economically beneficial effect rather than a harmful one. Smokers seem to be

Hollywood And The Lack Of Culture In Hollywood
This country has been described as a melting pot of different ethnicities. To put it into statistics,
the United States population in 2014 accounted 37.9 percent minority. No matter who they are,
people come together to enjoy whatever Hollywood has produced; whether it s cinematic
masterpieces or tasteful television productions. In fact, 46 percent of all movie tickets sold in
the United States were purchased by people of color in that year (Hunt et al). They would all
come together to watch a movie that hopefully would be able to showcase what America looked
like today; however, they would be faced with disappointment. The lack of representation is
apparent as people gaze upon the silver screen. After a study by the Ralph J. Bunche Center for
African American Studies, where they examined 163 films, it is revealed that 12.9 percent of
the lead roles were claimed by minorities. The study reports that it s a decline from the 16.7
percent in comparison to the year prior. Furthermore, it s not just the silver screen where
diversity lacks television is another victim. In cable scripted television shows, white actors had
78 percent of the 1120 roles, observed by the same study, while minorities accounted for 22
percent in the 2013 2014 season. With many wonders as to why the lack of diversity is prevalent,
it still happens and Hollywood isn t hosting a fair playing field between actors in the majority and
minority. If and when Hollywood uses diverse actors in their projects

A submarine going into sea is naturally dangerous; combining it with a nuclear reactor is even more
dangerous. Reactor accidents produce large amounts of radioactivity that harm the environment and
the people within. The only two countries that have built a large number of nuclear submarines are
the United States and Russia. The data behind the nuclear reactor accidents of both countries shows
that Russia has had over ten major accidents while the United States has had a total of none. This
fact is not based upon the idea that the United States has more talented submariners than Russia, the
difference is the culture within the two submarine programs. Rickover recognized that safety was
the most important part of the nuclear power program and, therefore, changed the culture of that
program: He installed principles to ensure all nuclear trained Americans recognized their personal
responsibility to protect the public from any adverse effects of nuclear power. He then devoted the
rest of his life to ensuring this cultural change was embedded into the nuclear submarine force.
Rickover s insistence on safety paid off with the United States having a total of zero nuclear reactor

Essay on Gettysburg
Gettysburg was the turning point in the American Civil War. Back in the day s before animation.
More importantly Gettysburg was the climatic clash between the two major American cultures of
their time: the North and the South. A climax of a conflict between two cultures with such vastly
different ideals that they could not coexist in one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all.
When looking at the causes of the Civil War, and eventually the Battle of Gettysburg, one must
understand the differences between these two cultures. The Confederacy had an agricultural
economy producing tobacco, corn, and cotton, with many huge plantations owned by a few very
rich white men. These owners lived off of the labor of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abraham Lincoln, the commander and chief of the Union forces, along with many other
Northerners believed that Slavery was not only fundamentally wrong, but it was a great

but not many had predicted that a full blown war would break out. One did and after three bloody
and costly years for both sides we come to the date of July 1, 1863.
The stage was set for an immense struggle at Gettysburg after the May 1863 Battle of Chancellors

What Is The Theme Of The Green Mile

1996 he published the green mile, (a movie was made later on).

John Coffey was convicted of the rape and murder of two tiny farm girls. He is as big as a giant,

The first and most noticeable difference between the movie and book is how the story is told. At

upset him. While in the book he writes the story and lets her read it. The book often comes back
to the elderly Paul and sees how he s doing, in the movie we only see him in the beginning and the
end.
For some reason the directors of the movie decided to leave out Janet s death. I think that part was
very important and it helped us understand what Paul has to go through with his long life

people are quick to condemn others about things that seem evil or monstrous without themselves
knowing that they indirectly do the same. Going out to eat at nice restaurants, buying brand name

Comparing Two Studies on estimated HIV Incidence and Prevalence
Introduction
In the era of HIV global pandemic, estimating incidence and prevalence correctly is critical, as it
becomes a strong tool for authorities to decide next action, to mitigate infection rate and its multiple
consequences to society. 2 studies investigated HIV estimated incidence from different approaches.
Prejean et al studied the incidence estimates in the United States, by using a four year data obtained
from HIV incidence surveillance from 16 states and 2 cities, and expanded the estimated incidence
to other areas in the United States1; they used a ratio of group specific incidence at a measured
area to new AIDS diagnosis, to AIDS diagnosis in other areas1. On the other hand, Walker et al
estimated prevalence by applying two strategies; using HIV prevalence of pregnant women for
countries suffering general epidemics, and using HIV prevalence in high risk groups for countries
with localized epidemic to estimate HIV prevalence .2 After obtaining prevalence, they estimated
prevalence using ratio of number screened against the specific group in that country against the
adult population, and estimated incidence according to estimates on how long a person with HIV
can survive and vertical transmission in the area with estimated national prevalence2. While both
studies are carefully planned, some aspects pose assumptions and asks the reader the potential
direction of bias.

Captain Aimee Le Medec Research Paper
No words can describe the cloud of sorrow that hangs over Halifax and surrounding areas.
December 6th, 1917 will forever mark a tragedy in our history. I am very blessed that my
business and I survived the explosion, but I too am still grieving the loved ones I lost. As I walk

covered with a light blanket of snow on this cold January day. Nestled in the heart of Halifax lies
the legendary harbour. The day is December 6th, 1817. It seems as if it is a normal day in

He could of prevented the explosion through many different ways such as opening the hatches or

blatantly ignored putting the red flag up on the Mont Blanc. For 20 minutes crowds collected
around Halifax Harbour to watch the billowing smoke filled with sparks and fire as the Mont
Blanc drifted towards the wharf. If the red flag was up then these people would have been

James Bond (90 kg), outfitted with perfectly matching skis and skiware, is at the top of a steep
slope that a secret spy like him can easily handle. He lets himself go from rest and smoothly
slides down the h = 15 m high hill. A big parking lot lies at the bottom of the hill. Since the
parking area has been cleared of snow, the friction between the ground and the skis brings our
hero to a halt at point D, located at a distance d = 12 m from point C. The descent can be
considered frictionless. Take the potential energyto be zero at the bottom of the slope. (a) What is
the mechanical energy of James Bond at points A and D? (b) Determine the speed of Bond at

A bullet of mass 10.0 g is п¬Ѓred into the block and embeds in the block. The block rises a height
of h = 5.00 cm. (a) Draw a п¬Ѓgure showing the initial and п¬Ѓnal positions of the block. (b) What
was the speed of the bullet? (c) How much thermal energy is generated in the block? (d) If the
bullet stops in a distance of 4.00 cm inside the block, estimate the force of friction. SOLUTION :
(b) The problem consists of two stages. The п¬Ѓrst stage is from before to after the impact. The
second stage is from just after the impact to the п¬Ѓnal position. In the п¬Ѓrst stage, the linear
momentum is conserved. In the second stage, the energy is conserved. Let us denote the initial
speed of the bullet as v0 . So: pbefore = pafter mv0 = (m + M ) v (4) M +m v0 m M y=0 Then
using the conservation of energy of the combined mass rising to height h after the impact: 1 (M +
m) v 2 = (M + m) gh 2 в‡’ v = 2gh (a)
L L y=h
(5)
Substituting v from eq. 5 into eq. 4 and solving for v0 : v0 = m+M m 2gh = 2.00 kg + 0.0100 kg
0.0100 kg 2 9.80 m/s2 (0.0500 m) = 199 m/s
(c) Assuming no sound generated in the impact, all the energy lost will turn into heat energy. The
heat energy generated is equal to the difference between the energy before the impact

1972 Discharge Problem
1972 saw new discharge regulations drive shut down and 1/4 mile times up. The 1972 model was
almost indistinguishable to the 1971 with a couple of minor changes. The grille outline was tidied
up, and the tail lights were changed to coordinate the new streamlined look of the grille. Side
marker lights transformed from the flush mounted side markers to the surface mounted units that
were received over the whole Chrysler line up for the 1972 model year. The discretionary guard
monitors for 1972 incorporated an elastic strip encompassing the tail lights and an elastic strip
beneath the grille. The enormous contrasts returned in the cutting of execution choices for the auto.
The suspension, back pivot proportions (a 3:55 proportion was the tallest accessible), and most
observably the motors changed, with the huge square 383 being supplanted by a... Show more

The little square 340 CID and the execution rendition of the 440 CID motor (with a 4 barrel
carburetor, execution camshaft, and double depletes) were additionally accessible, and for the
last time a 4 speed manual transmission could be combined with any of the three motors. The
greater part of the motors endured a drop in pressure proportions to permit utilization of low lead
/no lead gas and to meet the first round of discharges regulations. The 280 hp (209 kW) 440
motor was the premise for the GTX bundle (the GTX was no more a different model) accessible
on Road Runners from 1972 to 1974. The 1971 72 Road Runner sheetmetal was utilized by a few
NASCAR dashing groups for their racecars and ran well on the circuit amid the 1971 74 seasons.
Richard Petty won the title both in 1971 and 1972

Question #3
I don not thing that SDHD diagnoses in children is a problem. I do thing that the cause of this rise
in ADHD diagnosis is the psychological, social and perpetually dynamic condition of the world
today. The world system is rapidly and constantly transforming, filled with anxiety and nervousness
and many times with insanity too. Yes, this of course gives rise to the predisposition of related
psychological disorders, including ADHD. ADHD diagnoses are not high in children only, but in
adults and adolescents too.
Again, using prescription medication, there is no problem either. Actually, some of the issues that

The colonized subject, who is instructed to read and write in the language of their colonizer, speaks in the very formulation of words with which their existence is spoken for them, and by doing so upholds the notion of civilization in that language. Fanon notes culture still remains, but now the Malagasy exists with the European and have lost their basic structure . Akin to the Malagasy, Fanon had no access to his ancestral homeland or language, and similarly to many other black subjects, this lack of personal and cultural history is a visceral bearing as the trauma of colonization causes a shattering of the self. Building and maintaining these relationships is critical in living a fulfilling, happy life. While there are many different kinds of relationships and they are all important, romantic relationships are especially unique. Along with being unique, they can be difficult and take work and dedication by both partners. The difficulties faced in these relationships can be attributed partially to the differences between men and women. Theses differences range from mate selection to attachment styles to the way in which problems are dealt with. First and foremost, differences between men and women can be seen in the stages leading up to a romantic relationship. In this poem a diver goes on a trip to investigate a shipwreck in the socially accepted schema. Rich shifts the role of the hero and the strategy for success in her second schema. The hero prepares for the journey into the sea by reading the book of myths, collecting a camera and knife, and putting on a diving suit. Many past efforts were guided by the desire to meet the needs of individuals but not the cityas a whole, even programs that were aimed at economic development were ineffective because they treated the inner city as an isolated island (317), separated from surrounding economy which favored local small businessthat did not bring in outside business. Michael Porter is a renowned economist and professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, author of 18 books and more than 125 articles with topics that range from industry competition to economic development. Porter was born in Michigan and went on to study aerospace and mechanical engineering in Princeton from where he graduated first in his class and with high honors from both the prestigious societies Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, which he was also elected into. He is known as the c and is recognized worldwide for his take on competition and company strategy, many say that his work has redefined the thought process related to competition and economic development. Some of his most influential books include Competitive Strategy: Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors, Competitive Advantage: Creating and Sustaining Superior Performance and Redefining Health Care: Creating Value Based Competition On Results. In the essay, The Competitive Advantage of the Inner City, Porter explained the reason that numerous past efforts failed to improve the economic conditions of the inner city were mainly due to the increasing social investment in order to see growth in economic activity. However, in order to create real change, we have to start with the notion that inner city businesses should not only be profitable but also capable of exporting goods and services (317). Many would think that a business in the inner city would not thrive because business prosperity depends on location, however, it also varies on the way a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In many cities the crowd around the bar is so thick that instead of filling glasses from the old fashioned beer pumps, the hotel staff takes the beer to the glasses by long plastic hoses a dreadful sight to those unused to it (lawcom.govt.nz) As these excerpts tell us, New Zeeland has long had a love affair with alcohol. The 6.00 clock closing of bars was the first law to hit NZ bars in the early 1900s on the grounds that drinking impacted the domestic harmony. This was soon followed by prohibition of hiring new barmaids since it was feared that attractive barmaids enticed men to drink (Paul, 2006)). Both bans were rescinded in 1962 and from the 1970s onwards there was a relaxation in bans on liquor. . Today licensing requirements obligate food to be sold alongside liqueur in the hope that groceries will domesticate the drinking environment and quell barbarities but there are a lot of parallels between recent liquor related laws and the 1881 Act which directed local committees to monitor and control licensing. The number of drinks sold depending on voters and between 1893 and 1918, voters even had the power to close liqueur outlets in their electorates. In 1911 the triennial licensing poll on National Prohibition was introduced and this continued to regulate liquor until 1987. You see I was the student teacher in a second grade classroom at Charles Olbon Elementary School. After class I went home, locked myself in my bedroom and I started pondering my future and my career path. I thought I would not be a good teacher, why did I choose this career path? I choose this path because my friends and family saw me a teacher, but I guess they do not know the real me. In 2003 at the age of ten years old I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. My father saw me down at the kitchen table and strongly advised me to go into an easy profession. He instructed me to become a teacher, therefore I mindlessly agreed to his requests. Then when I entered college, I did not enjoy the teaching classes and I told my friends, family, and fellow teachers. However everyone told me the similar line: you will make a great teacher, you re just nervous cause you re almost graduating, just stick it out and get your degree. I listened to others while ignoring my inner voice and passion. Now fast forward to October 23 25th I ended up skipping student teaching to go into the city for Robert McKees Story and Storynomics seminarclass. The artist has created many paintings to convey the idea of technology causing people to become separated and disconnected from one another. Kuczynski s art could be seen as a metaphor for young people, being connected through technology but still isolated in loneliness. Phones are most likely the most commonly used source of communication in the world; which begs the question of how they could possibly be disconnecting people. The person has been there so long that a snow man was made on his back. This another great use of satire by Kuczynski. He has developed such a playful way of calling attention to these overarching societal problems that no one really seems to be talking about. The person in the picture isn t really living his life. All of his time has been consumed with the phone that only has virtual images on it. It s crazy how technology has done the opposite of what it was intended to do. Instead of playing in the snow with his friends his just sitting out in the cold all alone. Every time I go out I notice fewer people communicating with one another verbally. The common thought is that social media, phones, and just technology in general connects people of all kinds across the globe. • 28. Summary Of For He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne Love tends to be the topic of many poetic literary works, whether it be the joys that come with it or the pains suffered because of it, but what can be made of the love that results in both? In the poem, For He Looked Not upon Her, George Gascoigne already makes that message clear through his title: sometimes, there is reason not to desire what we can not help but long for. When his audience reads the work, they are meant to discover that reason behind why He would not look upon Her . Through the speakers form, diction, and imagery that he utilizes in the poem, it becomes clear that his tone towards loveis wary, yet also conflictingly longing. Starting with form, we can split Gascoigne s poem into three parts that depict what love feels like in the speaker s experience: lines 1 4, lines 5 10, and lines 11 14. In the first part, the speaker almost seems to be addressing the audience when he says, You must not wonder... , but it soon becomes apparent he is speaking to a specific person when he describes features in the fourth line, About the gleams which on your face do grow. This means the first part is personal to him and him alone. Then in lines 5 10, he offers examples of two creatures who learn from past injuries, as if backing up a claim where he has somehow been injured as well. That claim soon follows in the last 4 lines when he reverts back to his personal point of view, Because your blazing eyes my bale have bred. The speaker is cautious of someone, most ... To put it into statistics, the United States population in 2014 accounted 37.9 percent minority. No matter who they are, people come together to enjoy whatever Hollywood has produced; whether it s cinematic masterpieces or tasteful television productions. In fact, 46 percent of all movie tickets sold in the United States were purchased by people of color in that year (Hunt et al). They would all come together to watch a movie that hopefully would be able to showcase what America looked like today; however, they would be faced with disappointment. The lack of representation is apparent as people gaze upon the silver screen. After a study by the Ralph J. The descent can be considered frictionless. Take the potential energyto be zero at the bottom of the slope. (a) What is the mechanical energy of James Bond at points A and D? (b) Determine the speed of Bond at position B ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A bullet of mass 10.0 g is п¬Ѓred into the block and embeds in the block. The block rises a height of h = 5.00 cm. (a) Draw a п¬Ѓgure showing the initial and п¬Ѓnal positions of the block. (b) What was the speed of the bullet? (c) How much thermal energy is generated in the block? (d) If the bullet stops in a distance of 4.00 cm inside the block, estimate the force of friction. SOLUTION : (b) The problem consists of two stages. The п¬Ѓrst stage is from before to after the impact. The second stage is from just after the impact to the п¬Ѓnal position. In the п¬Ѓrst stage, the linear momentum is conserved. In the second stage, the energy is conserved. Let us denote the initial speed of the bullet as v0 . So: pbefore = pafter mv0 = (m + M ) v (4) M +m v0 m M y=0 Then using the conservation of energy of the combined mass rising to height h after the impact: 1 (M + m) v 2 = (M + m) gh 2 в‡’ v = 2gh (a) L L y=h (5) Substituting v from eq. 5 into eq. 4 and solving for v0 : v0 = m+M m 2gh = 2.00 kg + 0.0100 kg 0.0100 kg 2 9.80 m/s2 (0.0500 m) = 199 m/s (c) Assuming no sound generated in the impact, all the energy lost will turn into heat energy. The heat energy generated is equal to the diп¬Ђerence between the energy before the impact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. 1972 Discharge Problem 1972 saw new discharge regulations drive shut down and 1/4 mile times up. The 1972 model was almost indistinguishable to the 1971 with a couple of minor changes. The grille outline was tidied up, and the tail lights were changed to coordinate the new streamlined look of the grille. Side marker lights transformed from the flush mounted side markers to the surface mounted units that were received over the whole Chrysler line up for the 1972 model year. The discretionary guard monitors for 1972 incorporated an elastic strip encompassing the tail lights and an elastic strip beneath the grille. The enormous contrasts returned in the cutting of execution choices for the auto. The suspension, back pivot proportions (a 3:55 proportion was the tallest accessible), and most observably the motors changed, with the huge square 383 being supplanted by a... The little square 340 CID and the execution rendition of the 440 CID motor (with a 4 barrel carburetor, execution camshaft, and double depletes) were additionally accessible, and for the last time a 4 speed manual transmission could be combined with any of the three motors. The greater part of the motors endured a drop in pressure proportions to permit utilization of low lead /no lead gas and to meet the first round of discharges regulations. The 280 hp (209 kW) 440 motor was the premise for the GTX bundle (the GTX was no more a different model) accessible on Road Runners from 1972 to 1974. The 1971 72 Road Runner sheetmetal was utilized by a few NASCAR dashing groups for their racecars and ran well on the circuit amid the 1971 74 seasons. • 42. Psychological Treatment Methods Question #1 DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) could be defined as a document that provides a common language and standard criteria for the classification of mental disorders (Stangor, 2010). On the other hand, Anxiety disorder (generalized) is a psychological disturbance marked by irrational fears, often of common objects. Mood disorder is affective in nature, wherein one s mood affects their processes at various levels, such as congnition, social and physical. Last, post traumatic stress disorder is a psychological disorder usually resulting from trauma and intense shock and characterized by hyper anxiety and re experiencing of the trauma coupled with a compulsive longing to drown any reminders of the event. I do thing that the cause of this rise in ADHD diagnosis is the psychological, social and perpetually dynamic condition of the world today. The world system is rapidly and constantly transforming, filled with anxiety and nervousness and many times with insanity too. Yes, this of course gives rise to the predisposition of related psychological disorders, including ADHD. ADHD diagnoses are not high in children only, but in adults and adolescents too. Again, using prescription medication, there is no problem either. Actually, some of the issues that causes of ADHD in children are chemo genic, such as consumption of lead and food additives or mother s smoking during pregnancy. In fact, prescription medications, such as Ritalin stimulant, have proved to be effective. Alternative treatments exist and could include psychological treatments, like systematic social interaction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
