The Beliefs Of Donald Trump And Trump Criticism
These are the NFL Players Protesting today amid Trump Criticism
Are Americans going about protesting their beliefs in the correct way? Standing during the
National Anthem has been a way Americans show respect for their country since the 1800 s,
therefore not standing is nothing short of disrespectful. Last year, former pro quarterback Colin
Kaepernick started kneeling during the National Anthem because he believed standing was social
and racial injustice and players today have followed his actions. After a statement from President
Trump on Sunday, September 24th, there has been nothing but more chaos and protests throughout
our Nation s professional football teams. All American citizens should know and understand that
protesting is perfectly acceptable but protesting and disrespecting something that is completely
irrelevant is not, there is nothing anyone can do about who the elected President is and you can t
take everything Donald Trump says seriously, but regardless of the situation, it is never acceptable
Kneel during our National Anthem. America is a country all about freedom, therefore those who
choose to protest have every right to do so but disrespecting something that has been a part of the
American tradition for over two hundred years is not the right way to go about it. Colin
Kaepernick started the trend of kneeling during the National Anthem last year and said he refuses
to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of

INTRODUCTION
The difference between good health and disease is that health is the level of functional or
metabolic efficiency of a living being. In humans, it is the general condition of a person s mind,
body and spirit, usually meaning to be free from illness, injury or pain (as in good health or
healthy ) whiles a disease is an abnormal condition affecting the body of an organism. It is often
construed to be a medical condition associated with specific symptoms and signs that may be

There are two basic kinds of medication for treating asthma:
Control drugs to prevent attacks
Quick relief (rescue) drugs for use during attacks
Each type is described in more detail below.
Long term control drugs for asthma are used to prevent symptoms in people with moderate to
severe asthma. You must take them every day for them to work. Take them even when you feel okay.
Inhaled steroids prevent symptoms by preventing airway swelling. These work very well and are
almost always the first choice.
Long acting beta agonist inhalers also help prevent asthma symptoms. These drugs should be used
together with an inhaled steroid drug. It may be easier to use an inhaler that contains both drugs.
Other control drugs that may be used are:
Leukotriene inhibitors (such as Singulair and Accolate)
Omalizumab (Xolair)
Cromolyn sodium (Intal) or nedocromil sodium (Tilade)

The person I am going to analyse in this assignment is Aileen Lee Carol Wuornos who was
considered to be the first American female serial killer (Anon., 2015). Wuornos was born on
February 29th 1956 in Rochester Michigan (Anon., 2015). Her father, Leo Dale Pittman was an
alleged child molester and her mother Diane Wuornos was a teen mother who was not capable
of taking up the responsibilities that came about with being a mother (Anon., 2015). Wuornos
mother abandoned both her and her brother when they were young leaving them in the care of
their grandparents (Anon., 2015). Her grandmother was an alcoholic whereas her grandfather
abused her both physically and sexually (Anon., 2015). At the young age of eleven, Aileen
Wuornos began trading sexual favours for money, beer and even cigarettes (Anon., 2015). This
also allowed her to be able to be part of cliques and have a sense of belonging. On March 1971,
when she was fourteen she gave birth to her only child whom she gave up for adoption (Anon.,
2015). At that same time, her grandmother died of liver failure which led to her grandfather
kicking her out of the house (Anon., 2015). She was made wards of the court before she ran

The War Of The Civil War Essay
The story of this outlaw originated during the Civil War years, April 12,1861 May 9, 1865. The
War were the rich sat and watched, while the poor died. A War that wanted to keep black people
as slaves permanently by the South (Confederates). Newton Knight quickly grew unhappy with
the situation that the people of Jones County, where he was originally from were in. He also did
not approved of slavery at all. Newt was the Outlaw who freed Jones County s people, whites and
blacks alike when they most desperately needed it. The Outlaw Hero who s legend lives on by
movies.
The Civil War, which originate due to the fact that the South wanted to keep blacks as slaves, due
to that the North did not approve of such ideology, a fight between the Confederate s vs the Union.
This War quickly spread like a quick Wild fire through the now United Statesof America. The
election of an Anti Slavery President (Lincoln) in 1860 quickly caused seven southern states to
secede from the Union to form the Confederate states. The states that bounded the south were
(South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas). Their economy
was driven by agriculture/plantation system, specially (cotton and tobacco), which of course was
fueled by a black labor force. While the Unions economy was driven by factories, which included
arms production, and railroads, which both were a big advantage during the war.. Southerners
began the war effort confident that the cotton their

Gene Luan Born Chinese Analysis
There are several themes throughout Gene Luan Yang s graphic, picture paneled novel, American
Born Chinese. The thematic focus of this paper will be Yang s portrayal of the challenges faced by
multicultural ethnicities searching for cultural acceptance in a white America. This novel tells of
three different stories which ultimately merge and progress with one another. Initially, it appears as
though there are three main characters: Monkey King, a legend who rules over Flower Mountain,
Jin Wang, an Asian third grader who has moved from San Francisco to a stereotypical middle class
white American suburb, and finally, Danny. Danny is an American white boy Jin has created to
hide his Chinese culture to fit in better with his classmates. Eventually, the stories come together,...

American Born Chinese is a story which echoes the determination of each character trying their best
to rise above the prejudices and preconceived notions of the cultural majority.
It is important to examine the transparent theme of injustices forced upon minority groups trying to
blend in with their peers of the majority race. The book s leading character, Jin Wang, has been
thrust into a classroom where he is the only Asian boy. Immediately, on his first day of school,
stereotyping commences as the teacher incorrectly introduces Jin as having moved from China.

physical attributes. Students hop on the bandwagon by saying, My momma says Chinese people

Persuasive Essay On Community Service
The options for community service are endless. After narrowing down my options, I applied to
volunteer at the Crystal Lake Public Library this past summer. Having to go in for an interview
was a new experience for me, considering how I have never applied for a job. I believe that the
exposure to the interview process did two things for me: first, it put me out of my comfort zone,
and second, it taught me invaluable lessons about applying for future jobs and programs. This is
because I am the kind of person who can get nervous easily, and I struggle to hide it sometimes.
An interview is a type of situation that I would feel nervous in; however, I was able to overcome
my fear and apply to the library anyways. Therefore, I learned what I should expect to be asked,
and I understand how I should properly respond. Once I was accepted to the library s volunteer
network, I was able to choose which department I would work for in order to serve the community.
By volunteering at the library, I improved the Youth Services department, particularly by
participating in the Adopt a Shelf program. One part of my job was to rearrange the books in the
correct order when they got disorganized. This made it easier for parents and children to find the
books, movies, and CDs they were looking for. Another task that I enjoyed was replacing the
books to their proper location from the clean up cart. It is important for books to be on the
shelves where they belong because otherwise it appears that books are not available. My favorite
part of volunteering for the library, however, was getting to help kids pick out the books they
were looking for. I remember many of the people I helped, but one of my fondest moments
occurred on one of my first days. I was working in the junior fiction department, and there was a
young girl there. She wanted to find a new series of books to read for the summer reading
program. It was special to show her the novels that I read when I was her age, especially when she
chose to start the Mother Daughter Book Club books: my favorite series in middle school. It was
moments like that that made me proud to be a part of the Crystal Lake Public Library and their
volunteer team. As a result of my work at the

Quentin Tarantino s Film Pulp Fiction
Ever since Quentin Tarantino s film directorial debut in 1992 with his very first film, Reservoir
Dogs (1992), his films have been the same in terms of his uses of lighting, themes, camera angles,
and soundtracks used with his each one of his works. A few examples of this would be his films
Pulp Fiction (1994), and both volumes of Kill Bill(2003 2004). Quentin Tarantinowas born on

Tarantino had gotten a job at a video store and during the time he worked there, he wrote the
scripts for Tony Scott s True Love (1993) and Oliver Stone s Natural Born Killers (1992)

Tarantino had received both critical and commercial claim with his film Pulp Fiction (1994) which
he had won an Academy Award for best screen play (Biography.com Editors). Tarantino has also

The Importance Of Freedom In American Society
One of the foundations of American society is the belief that freedom reigns above all else.
However, this does not seem to be the case in recent years. Due to early opposition to
organization, the Constitution in the United States outlines rights to freedom unprecedented in
other areas around the globe. Based originally in freedom of religion, American freedom exists
in all arenas. For example, freedom of speech provides all people with the ability to say anything
on their mind. In some situations, however, freedom does not offer the sense of safety many
individuals desire. Recently there have been several instances in the American cultural sphere
that seem to lean the culture towards embracing safety, even though such practices may
compromise freedom itself. Instances of the sort include the desire for protection from racism
and violence based on race, availability of safe spaces, as well as opposition to their
establishment, isolationist policies within political parties, social media influences and targeted
advertising, as well as fear from large uncertainties like gun abuse and terrorism. Freedom from
ideas discourages freedom of ideas, but offers an illusion of safety to the individual. Race
relations have for generations been incredibly sensitive since the acceptance and expansion of
slavery in the 16th century. The ownership of another person due to their skin color is not ethical
in today s society and due to the overall lack of action taken to undo said actions,

Israel Conflict Research Paper
The primary parties involved in the Israeli Palestinian conflict are the Israelis and the Palestinians
but almost all Arab countries have contributed to the problem, as well.
The region as the heart of the conflict is the area formally known as Palestine. It now is Israel,
Gaza, and the West Bank.
Jewish Israelis claim ownership of the land because they need a place that is safe from all the
hostility from Arabs towards Jewish people. They also believe that they were promised this land
by God. The Palestinians (Arabs) say it belongs to them because their ancestors have lived there for
hundreds of years.

My Love Of Hip Hop Dance
One of my primary interests has always been music. When music comes to my ears all I want to
do is dance. Hip hop comes in a form of art where you can express yourself with no limitations
and no rules. Having the ability to break free of the real world and to just indulge in that exact
moment is breathtaking. There is really more too hip hop dancing than people actually know.
Dancing in general has to do with a culture and it brings people together in more ways than one. I
personally come from a family where dancing is just a usual thing. My sister however, danced
her whole life and even became so serious that she competed at the highest level in South Africa. I
was more into physical fitness, but I still loved music and the hip hop scene. The older I got, the
more inquisitive I became and that s when my love for the hip hop culture expanded.
First of all, like any physical activity you need to warm up. Many people think that dancing is easy
or you won t get injured because there is no form of contact but they are seriously mistaken. To
start off, you need to choose your music. Choosing music that you are familiar with or that makes
your feet want to move on their own will be very beneficial. I always challenge myself by playing
music from other cultures to make up my own moves. It is very important to feel the beat in the
song, so if you can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I remember the day when I started learning hip hop and other types of dancing and how insecure

do in front of the mirror and this really helped me work on my weaknesses. Being alone with
nobody laughing or judging me really built up my confidence and with this I became a better
dancer. I invented my own style which was unique, and people could match it with my personality.
Dancing is not easy work, so practice should become a

Issues Surrounding The Legalization Of Euthanasia
This essay will critically discuss slippery slope arguments with reference to the issues surrounding
the legalization of euthanasia. Firstly, the foundations of a slippery slope argument will be
discussed, along with the usual fallacious nature of this type of argument, also to be discussed, is if
slippery slope arguments ever provide good reasons for accepting their conclusions. Secondly,
euthanasiawill be introduced and discussed, this will be done using an example of a slippery slope
argumentby John Keown from his book Euthanasia, ethics and public policy: and argument against
legalization. From this example, the moralityof euthanasia will be discussed as to whether slippery
slope arguments show that euthanasia is immoral. Lastly, euthanasia will be discussed with
reference utilitarianism, and if euthanasia would potentially be viewed as a good or moral
option by utilitarian theory or if it would be viewed as immoral. Slippery slope arguments are
often used to argue that if we allow something to become legal we will be stepping onto the
slippery slope to allowing something viewed as morally wrong to also become legal. These
arguments are used often within society, although most of the time they are used in a casual
manner and the distance between point A and B is so large they are not taken seriously,
(Spielthenner, 2010; Jefferson, 2014). For that reason slippery slope arguments as a general idea
are not considered to be good logical arguments. So, slippery slope

Socrates Unexamined Life
Socrates theory of the unexamined life would argue that that a life spent without self examination
was a life that was wasted. Socrates believed that a person should question their motives and what
they valued in life. He believed a life spent pursuing material gain or power was a life that was not
a life well spent. Instead Socratesbelieved that a person should constantly be looking inward.
They should question their motives and better themselves by correcting any motives or actions
that are not pure. To Socrates the noblest pursuit in life was the quest for knowledge. He wanted
people to question what they knew and search for answers for that which they did not know.
While I agree with most of Socrates ideas on the unexamined life I do not agree that an
unexamined life is wasted. I agree with Socrates that we should constantly be looking to better
ourselves by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several reasons for my position on this. First, it is very possible for a person to live an
unselfish life without self examination. For example we have no idea if Florence Nightingale
spent time examining her own life. Yet, even if she spent no time on self examination I believe
she still would have been a great person. I believe some people are motivated by a desire to help
others that does not require them to examine their own lives to motivate them to do good. While
conversely it is possible for an evil person to understand what their motivations and desires are,
while doing nothing at all to better themselves. If self examination does anything it maximizes a
person s potential. An unexamined life can be considered a full life that accomplished many great
things, but it is likely that if the person had spent time examining their life they could have
accomplished even more. I think it would be better to say that an unexamined life is one that did
not reach its full

The Documentary About Nevsun, A Canadian Mining Company...
The documentary is about Nevsun, a Canadian mining company for permitting forced labor and
abuse of human rights in Bisha mine in Eretria. The documentary is prepared and presented by
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Fifth Estate in February 2016. The film meshes well with the
unfortunate miseries that civilians have to endure under the aristocratic regime of President Isaias
Afwerki. The film is incredibly mind boggling and captivating in disclosing felonious activities by
the Nevsun in collaboration with the Eritrea s government. The film attempts to portray how
compromised cooperation between private firms and aristocratic regimes leads to forced labor;
abuse of human right and crimes against humanity ( Nevsun In Eritrea: Dealing With A Dictator
The Fifth Estate ).
The film focuses its attention on the use of forced conscripted military labor. Indisputably, the film
highlights the miseries of Eritrean in implausible style. An extensive investigation by the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation highlights how Nevsun, through Segen could have been collaborating
with the Eritrean dictatorial regime for cheap labor. Apparently under the military conscription
Eritrea, every man below the age of fifty serves in the army for an indefinite period. Use of
conscripted military labor is common especially by colluding with private companies to exploit the
civilian. As Kesete Tekle, a former military personnel notes refusing the assignment meant that the

Examples Of Madea s Infidelity In The Medea
Madea was once a loving wife and mother until she was betrayed by her husband Jason. Medea
then transformed into a bitter, hateful, and vindictive woman after she found out about her husband
s infidelity. In Euripides The Medea, the quote, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, is truly
depicted by the protagonist Medea. One would think Euripides was trying to portray Medea to as
an authentic woman as much as he could. It seemed like he wanted to tell the story of Medea as
raw as possible and leave nothing to be and leave nothing to be imagined. The reader would come
to this conclusion, because of the actions of Medea once she is infuriated by Jasons behavior. Medea

It was the moment when Creon told her that she and her children had to leave the city that

Glause. Medea was going to kill them, because they were the people Jason was leaving her for.
Medea gave up everything for Jason, and she was the reason Jason was who he was. She
provoked Pelias death for him, she also killed her brother, betrayed her country, and walked out
on her family. One would consider Medea at this point in the play to be a callous, merciless, and
rather ruthless person considering she killed four people, two of which being her sons. She made

consult a lawyer, multiple suppliers, and the municipal authority of the area. Consulting with these
professionals will clarify that their business is created in a manner that protects them from the
potential legal implications of taking on a businessventure of its magnitude. Consulting a lawyer
first would be the way to start. Meeting with a lawyer is necessary for first deciding what type

company bylaws, documentation with the state regarding the formation of the company, and
possibly documents regarding investors stating what they get in return. Another example of a

Why I Quit The Klan Summary
In the article, Why I Quit the Klan from American Dreams: Lost and Found by Studs Terkel it
touches upon the life of former president of the Ku Klux Klan, C. P. Ellis. Throughout his whole
life he always had this feeling of inferiority. His father barely making enough money to even buy
some decent clothes for himself, made Ellis ashamed of what he wore outside. As time passed
nothing in his life seemed to go right, he had a child who was blind and retarded, which he loved
but was an extra expense, worked day in and day out to barely make ends meet, to at one point
getting a heart attack, his whole life was an outright struggle. He needed to blame someone, and so

Mystic River by Dennis Lehane and The Lovely Bones by...
The novels, Mystic River by Dennis Lehane and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, include many
different elements of the psychoanalytical theory. According to Sigmund Freud, the psychoanalytic
theory explains the reasoning behind personality disorders through one s conscious and
unconscious mind (Psychoanalytic Criticism). This theory also states the idea that things that
happen to people during childhood can contribute to the way one later functions as an adult
(Psychoanalytic Criticism). Both novels include characters that can contribute towards the
psychoanalytical theory through the roles that the characters play in each novel. Both of the
parents of the murdered child in each story contrast on how they act in the situation. The fathers...

After receiving the news about the murder, Jimmy explodes with emotions. I remember, I was
more afraid of my little daughter than I ever was of being in prison (Dennis 34). This quote shows
the fatherly love Jimmy had for Katie. It compared the strength Jimmy had through the rough times
in jail and how afraid he was of losing Katie. Ultimately, Jimmy follows the wrong path. Jimmy not
only fails to find his daughter s murderer, but he also kills Dave along too. By looking though a
psychoanalytic lens, one can interpret Jimmy s fatherly instincts which are to try to unearth his
daughter s murderer no matter the cost.
Not only can one psychoanalytically observe the father from Mystic River, Jimmy Markum, but
can also psychoanalytically compare one to the father from The Lovely Bones, Jack Salmon. Jack
Salmon is the frustrated heroic father of the murdered Susie Salmon. Jack is the one who knows
the truth of his daughter s murder, but can t prove it. Just as Jack quotes, If you start something,
you finish it. You don t stop until you get it right. If you don t get it right, you start over again
and you keep going as long as you can (Sebold 12). This quote demonstrates Jack s perseverance
towards catching Susie s murderer. Regardless of the number of attempts to obtain justice for
Susie, Jack never ends up victorious. Just like Jimmy Markum from Mystic River, Jack and Jimmy

How Asatru Is A Religion That Has Close Ties With Norse...
Asatru is a religion that has close ties with Norse mythology. The name of the religion, Asatru, is
a twofold word that gets it s meaning from Old Norse. The first half of the word, Asa, means
Gods and Goddesses and the second half Tru, means to have faith or belief in. Altogether Asatru
means to have faith in the gods. Asatru can be considered part of the Neo pagan family of
religion since it has to do with Norse Heathenism. The beginning of Asatru was not the start of
the religion itself yet a revival of an older religion. Before Asatru there was the Nordic religion.
This religion was practiced before Christianity came around. The Nordic religion is thousands of
years old and its beginnings are lost in prehistory. Yet, it is associated with the age of Vikings.
Ancient Asatru and Modern Asatru is a folk or tribal religion. In the 20th century an Icelandic sheep
farmer named Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson created an Asatru organization. The proper term for it is,
ГЌslenska ГЃsatrГєarfГ©lagiГ° which translates to Icelandic fellowship of Aesir faith.
Beinteinsson even petitioned for Asatru to be a recognized religion in the early 1970s. After about
a year of petitioning, Asatru became a known religion in Iceland. Coincidentally, around the same
time the organization was created in Iceland, there were communities forming in the United States
and in the United Kingdom. However, these three communities didn t know of each other.

Essay On Disruption In Airline Industry
Disruption in the Airline Industry

City University of Seattle, IS 330, winter 2016/2017
Abstract
Keywords: hypothesis
Disruption in the Airline Industry Conceptual air carrier, Poppi, provides the framework for an
analysis that will be discussed throughout this paper in regards to disruptive technologies and their
effect on the airline industry. Baltzan (2015, p. 231) observes that disruptive technologies are a new
way of doing things that initially does not meet the needs of existing customer. Shu (2015) offers
the airline industry is continually trying to reinvent itself to attract attention and increase revenue.

Similar to Uber and Airbnb, Teague s concept would absolutely offer disruption to the status quo of
air travel (Shu, 2015). The conceptual air carrier is called Poppi and they have analyzed the
stress experienced by travelers and other industry shortcomings to focus on the needs of the
passenger while ignoring established industry practices. Would these radical ideas offered by
Poppi create a wake up call for the airline industry, and particularly legacy carriers? Professor
Taneja explains that most airlines acknowledge the importance of disruptive innovation, however,
their degree of reaction varies greatly from one carrier to another (Accenture, 2017). He also notes
the industry is divided in their reaction to disruption with some continuing business as usual and
others completely overhauling how they do business altogether. Strategies for transformation in
dealing with each carrier s workforce, processes, and legacy systems requires the right mindset and
leveraging emerging technologies. Poppi attempts to addresses these issues while focusing on what
bothers air travelers most and changing the mindsets of major carriers to envision the future of air
travel. Wilson (2015) reports Devin Liddell, Teague s principle brand strategist, would eliminate
carry on luggage and reduce the size of overhead bins to only accommodate personal items such as
computer bags and jackets. Teague conducted boarding simulations

Afghanistan Drug Trafficking
In western societies, families are living comfortable lifestyles, non threatening jobs, and are
blessed to witness their children growing up. However, in Afghanistan, citizens are relying on
opium poppy plants from drug dealers as their source of survival, with the risk of endangering their
family. Nevertheless, when there is a discrepancy between the farmer and drugtrafficker, problems
arise. In the PBS documentary Opium Brides, families are left with the fate of sacrificing their
own children, in order to survive. Farmers in Afghanistan are reliant on opium plants to provide
stability in their homes, however the government is against opium. Most of the countries economy
is resulted from the production of opium; about 90% of families in Afghanistan produce opium .

A Worldwide Problem Of Global Warming
Electric Cars There is a worldwide problem of Global Warming. It is increasing day after day,
harming our planet s atmosphere by reducing the strength of the ozone layer. Global warming is
putting all basic human needs in jeopardy. There are various reasons behind global warming.
One of the major reasons is fuel engine cars and trucks we use in our everyday lives. Fuel engine
cars leave a trail of unhealthy monoxide gas as the result of combustion in the engine. Carbon
Monoxide is one of many gases which is harmful to the ozone layer. Global warmingis already
causing high temperatures, rising sea levels, floods, and droughts. To help reduce the effects of
the fuel engine cars on our environment we should start using electric cars. Electric cars run on
rechargeable batteries which do not leave a trail of carbon monoxide. Electric cars are fuel
efficient vehicles which use less gas to travel the same distance as their less efficient counterparts.
When we burn less fuel, we generate fewer emissions. When emissions go down, the pace of
global warming slows. Cleaner fuels produce fewer emissions when they are burned. Some fuels
such as those made from biofuels can reduce emissions by 80 percent compared to gasoline, and
cleaner extraction techniques can ensure that dirty fuel like oil doesn t get dirtier. Electric cars
will also help many countries stop fighting over fuel and also give countries independence. Electric
cars should be globalized so that it helps create a

Theme Of Nature In The Snows Of Hemingway
Hemingway loved nature and his stories transmit this love. They also reflect his belief that a man
is just an animal among animals. This trait is present in The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Big Two
Hearted River two of Hemingway s stories. Both take place in a land where the civilized men have
not destroyed its virginity and purity. But regardless of the purity of nature, death cannot be
escaped. Death is a natural phenomenon and it accompanies all the living. In his stories,
Hemingway s joins life with death, clarity with darkness, and creation with destruction. In both
stories the characters happen to be in a situation which uncovers their true nature, a nature which
seeks mental and physical wild freedom. The characters are escaping from death, but death is their
shadow.

The Curriculum For The Class
Perhaps when writing the curriculum for the class you could consider some of these ideas, it is
important to reach out to each of the students and make them feel comfortable and want to take
interest in what they are learning. According to Interest Theory it is important for students to find
value in what they are learning. Some examples of this include; when a student is able to apply
what they have learned to everyday occurrences, being able to gain gratification from
achievements, and even feel the recognition of a practiced skill as useful. Attribution Theory
implies that as a teacher it is important to create an environment where many different cultures
and viewpoints are valid and offered. Calvin makes a point by saying that sometimes his ideas are
too big so that no one cares. So if you encourage this out of the box thinking and give Calvin
opportunities to show he knows what he is talking about Calvin will take more interest in what he
is learning. Tying in Self Determination Theory into the curriculum. Calvin would then be
intrinsically motivated when you give him the opportunity to test his knowledge with a topic that
interests him. As the teacher, you can offer a variety of tasks, which will make it difficult for him
to attribute his failure to one specific type of lesson plan or lecture. Which ties into Goal Theory,
and suggesting letting students have some control in the class. For instance; letting the students
have a choice of what they can read. If you

Charlemagne s Efforts to Unify Christianity Essay
During the beginning of Charlemagne s imperial reign, the Church was full of inconsistencies and
unorthodox practices. Clergy from different areas practiced the faith in different ways because
many of the texts they used were badly translated and contained errors.1 Charlemagne would
receive letters, detailing monks prayers, that contained both correct thoughts and uncouth
expressions 2 He was worried that if they could not write correctly, then they might be
misinterpreting the bibleand God would not be honored. Many of the common people could not
distinguish between religion and superstition, which would allow absurd beliefs to become
accepted.3 Unorthodox practices like naked people walking around with chains claiming to be doing

The decisions passed by this council would then be published in the form of a capitulary, in order

churches and identifying the correct way to live a christian life; however, Charlemagne also need to
improve education so the common person could understand and interpret the laws correctly.
The education of the Frankish Empire was almost nonexistent so the first step Charlemagne made
was simply encouraging intellectual curiosity and learning. He gathered many wise men to his
court, including Alcuin, Peter of pisa, Paulinus, Theodulf, and Agobard. They encompassed diverse
fields like grammarian, historian, poet, theologian, and came from far away places like Italy, Spain,
and Ireland.7 Charlemagne highly valued their wisdom and would reward them lavishly with
money and property such as abbeys.8 with these great men, Charlemagne set up the first school at
his palace to teach reading, writing, and the scriptures. One story by Mayke de Jong, gives an
illustration of just how much Charlemagne valued education. While inspecting the school,
Charlemagne put the hardworking pupils on his right and the lazy ones on his left symbolizing
eternal judgement.9 He made no distinction between rank, but many of the lower ranked pupils

fully shed that interim tag and officially become the queen of the comedy genre. Comparable to
Bill Murray or Chris Farley in their heydays, McCarthy is not only the queen of her respective

True, not all of McCarthy s films are memorable (especially Tammy and Identity Theft), yet
tremendous performances in films that include Spy, Bridesmaids, and The Heat, easily subdue and

To a degree, the vast majority of McCarthy s roles are silly but at least most of them have substance
and purpose. The Boss, written by McCarthy and her husband (and director), Ben Falcone, is
completely devoid of a meaningful plot, though relying far too much on petty, showboating antics

The Animal Welfare Institute Is An Organization
Introduction: I remembered how throughout my life I respected and admired people that tried to
help animals in need. I remembered how I felt when I saw first hand the result of abuse. I
remembered how I wanted to help those poor animals that were being treated so cruelly. And for all
that I remembered, I decided that the Animal WelfareInstitute (AWI) was the interest group I felt
strongly for and chose to research.
Animals are a big part of many people s lives. They provide companionship; they provide daily
assistance to those that have deficits and are having difficulty functioning in their daily life; they
provide security and help keep a watchful eye on things, plus so much more. And yet, with all that
animals do for us, there are those that are treated with such little regard, care, and cruelty. They are
unable to speak for themselves and therefore, they need a voice to speak for them.
Mission: The Animal Welfare Institute is an organization that provides a voice for animals in
pain. Since its founding in 1951, AWI has sought to alleviate the suffering inflicted on animals by
people. In the organization s early years, our particular emphasis was on the desperate needs of
animals used for experimentation. In the decades that followed, we expanded the scope of our
work to address many other areas of animal suffering. We seek better treatment of animals
everywhere in the laboratory, on the farm, in commerce, at home, and in the wild .

Analysis Of On Liberty
On Liberty is an essay composed by a man named J.S. Mill who talks about the different types of
liberty given to individuals. The novel in divided up into five chapter stating different liberties or
responsibilities that makes someone a responsible self. There is no real definition of what could
be considered a responsible self but all the duties one has is what composes this personinto what
Mill believes one should be. These responsibilities are first to oneself, to others, and finally to
society as a whole.
The responsibilities to oneself are vast and many depending on what the individual wants to
consider as responsibilities. The person must be in tune with all that is happening inside his
world so he may grow. Individuality, is a huge part of a person because it shapes not only his
personality but his life. It is the duty to himself for once he reaches maturity he is to use what he
has learned and interpret it to his beliefs. He learns about traditions and customs from others but
may interpret differently, not suitable to him, or do not educate or develop him (55 56). He must
develop a strong character with his own impulses and desires that has been created and fixed by
his culture. The individual must make sure to take in to account what he prefers before what others
want him to do (58). Conformity is also another duty to oneself, since it is what makes him stand
out among the rest. A person can only have the chance of becoming himself again, is when his eyes

The Prisoner s Fight, Patriotism, And Duty
Do the terms honor, patriotism, and duty defines a soldier s hardships and struggles that he
encounters during times of war? Defiant, recreates the experiences of eleven men captured during
the Vietnam War and sent to the various camps like Hao Lo in North Vietnam. While there the
American prisoners commitment to their honor, patriotism, and duty would be put to the test
through the harsh living conditions and torture inflicted upon them both physically and mentally.
Townley s use of William Henley s poem Invictus accurately describes the prisoner s fight to

these values of honor, patriotism, and duty were adapted and changed to help the POWs cope with
their situation. The evolution of these values provided the POWs with hope, resistance, and the will

on September 14, 2000, FINA (Federation Internationale de Natacion Amateur) approved men s
synchronized swimming events in the Olympics (Newberry). May was happy, because his hard
work paid off. Throughout his life he has ignored the many comments that have compared him to
Martin Short and concentrated on his goal. Short performed a skit on SNL in the 80 s that depicted

Medieval Era Research Paper
The medieval period in Britain lasted from 1066 to 1485 (The Medieval Period). The Medieval
period was a period of great wars, diseases and the rise of the English monarchy. I will list some of
the more important events in this paragraph. The period began with the Norman invasion of
England, and ended with beginning of the Tudor dynasty. During this period eastern Ireland and all
of Whales came under the direct rule of the monarchy, while Scotland managed to stay independent.
In 1215 the Magna Cartawas written, marking the first time a monarch agreed to follow formal
procedures. The Third Crusade between the years 1189 1192 was led by the English king Richard

The Battle of Hastings was fought on 14 October in the year 1066 shortly after the Norman

Confessor, king of England, and the coronation of his successor Harold Godwinson. Across the

support of the Pope and from his nobles, William set made plans for invading England. The
prelude to William s invasion was an attack on Yorkshire by Tostig Godwinsson, who was king
Harold s exiled brother, and Norwegian Vikings, led by Harald Hardrada. This attack would be

Library Collaboration
Effective school librarians actively engage in collaboration with various entities to support students
educational growth. Teachers, administrators, architects, information technology, and the
community are all possible partners of school librarians in supporting the advancement of student s
education as well as ensuring that they become lifelong learners. However, school librarians must
partner with germane sources that will help support the curriculum of the school. In the articles for
Module Two, the utility of collaboration between school librarians, architects, teachers, and
administrators is espoused. If school librarians make forming vital collaborations as one of their

School librarians and teachers can collaborate in instruction that will support school and national
curriculum standards. Furthermore, school librarians who have expert knowledge of the schools
curriculum as well as national learning standards will be able to form more effective partnerships
with teachers. Boyner (2015) asserts, Knowing the school s overarching mission, individual
department goals and objectives, as well as the guiding curricular framework is a crucial first step
for winning teacher buy in (p.63). The collaboration between the school librarian and language arts
faculty equipped high school students with many of the skills that they would need to perform
successful college level research. For a school librarian to become a leader, they must collaborate
with classroom teachers and gain their support for the School Library Program (SLP).
The principal can be a school librarian s biggest advocate for the SLP or they can view the SLP
program as a waste of funding that could be better spent on other resources. According to Lupton
(52), Principals said that they needed the funding invested in the teacher librarian to be used for
teaching. They pointed out that they could hire a library assistant to undertake the library functions
(52). Accordingly, school librarians need to demonstrate to school

The Relationship Between Art And The Renaissance Art
The connection between art and science is one of the most characteristic features of the
Renaissance culture. The truthful image of the world and man had to be based on their knowledge,
so the cognitive beginning played an especially important role in the art of this time. Naturally, the
artists sought support in the sciences, often stimulating their development.
The Renaissance is a time of great discoveries, great masters and their outstanding works. It is
marked by the appearance of a whole galaxy of artists scientists, among whom Leonardo da Vinciis
the first.
Fine art in the Renaissance reaches unprecedented heyday. This is due to the economic upsurge,
with a huge shift that has occurred in the minds of people who have turned to the cult of earthly
life and beauty. The visual art of the Renaissance in many ways represents a contrast to the
medieval. It marks the emergence of realism for a long time determined the development of
European artistic culture. This affected not only the spread of secular images, the development of
portrait and landscape or a new, sometimes almost genre interpretation of religious subjects, but
also in the radical renewal of the entire artistic system. In the Renaissance, an objective image of
the world was seen by the eyes of a man, so one of the important problems facing artists was the
problem of space. In Italy, already in the first half of the century, a scientific theory of linear
perspective based on geometry and optics was created.

Comparing Kenneth Branagh s And Gregory Doran
There have been many movie adaptations of Hamlet ever since adapting Shakespeare s plays into
movies became a profitable venture. Two of the more popular adaptations were Kenneth Branagh s
in 1996 and Gregory Doran s in 2009. Even though they were both based on the same play, these
two movies differ greatly due to director s license. Kenneth Branaghs and Gregory Doran s
adaptation of Hamletdiffer greatly in terms of the setting and how each of the main characters are
portrayed. One of the main differences in the two films is the setting, The original play is based
in 1600s Denmark, which Branagh s movie follows for the most part. His interpretation of
Elsinore Castle is posh and colorful. There is much contrast in the colors and setting of the scenes,
with some being in the bright common room of the castle, with others being in the catacombs or in
the dark woods outside of the castle. Doran s film has a more modern setting to it. The attire worn
by the characters consist mainly of suits and modern dresses, compared to the more... Show more

The portrayal of Hamlet himself contains some of the key differences between the movies.
Branagh s portrayal shows a very violent and hostile Hamlet. His insanity is depicted through
his consistent outbursts of anger and violence. His insanity is explained through his reaction to
seeing his father s ghost, so his insane ways are in a way justified. Doran s Hamlet, portrayed by
David Tennant, is more childish and tongue in cheek than Branagh s. He does not wear shoes
and has random outbursts of insanity. His madness is not clearly explained, so the audience is
confused as to why he is insane, or if he was insane this entire time. Also, Branagh sticks to the
original soliloquies, while Doran cuts a few parts here and there. For example, the famous What is
a man? soliloquy, which is in its entirety in Branagh s film, but is severely cut down in

Basic Education And Physical Education Curriculum
Standards have not always been a part of the regular Physical Education curriculum. Physical
Education curriculum was determined by the teacher or school district alone, and had no clear
objectives as a whole. Curriculum only had a common goal and did not take into consideration
how the specific goal was going to be met. Standards sets on an outline that a teacher can use to
create a curriculum that clearly outlines the Do standards help if they are integrated into the
physical educationcurriculum? Both sides will be uncovered and reveal information relating to the
teacher s stance, on whether they disagree or agree with standards being a crucial part of everyday
curriculum. The reasons opposing standards in physical education curriculum are given a potential
solution. Setting aside our personal preference as educators, students benefit much more from a

Physical Education is taught in schools throughout the nation. Shape America, formerly the

function and concepts for healthy living. When the standards are met, they help promote a lifelong
understanding of healthy ways to keep physically active. Most states, like California, follow

The Ethical And Religious Aspects Of Circumcision
Male circumcision is performed for either medical or religious purposes. There is a significant
amount of controversy regarding to the benefits and complications of male circumcision, therefore,
it is a common research topic in both pediatrics, urology, ethics, and public health. Many studies
have found multiple benefits in circumcision and as of today, the World Health Organization finds
circumcision as one of the preventive methods against HIV/AIDS infection and transmission in
developing countries (WHO, 2014). However, circumcision is not totally safe procedure and
several acute and chronic risks are expected.
The aim of this paper is the presentation of advantages and disadvantages associated with male
circumcision based on peer reviewed articles and recommendations of WHO. The ethical and
religious aspects of circumcision will not be discussed in this paper.
Introduction
Circumcision is a surgical removal of the prepuce (the foreskin), which is a highly innervated and
vascularized section of penile tissue that provides both protection and motorization to the glans
penis. One of the main medical indication for circumcision is phimosis that is unresponsive to
pharmacological treatment. Phimosis is a scarring and thickening of the foreskin that prevents its
retraction back over the glans (Sorokan, et at, 2015). During decision making for a circumcision it
is very important to differentiate phimosis from normal physiological process, because many
patients undergo

Terrorism And Domestic Terrorism
The idea of terrorism is to incite terror of a government by intimidation or coercion. For example,
the Weathermen, they used bombs to blow up symbols of the United States to instill terror into the
government, to get Americans out of Vietnam War. However, the jihadist of al Qaeda crashed two
planes into the World Trade Center to provoke fear into the US by showing weakness in our private
transportation system and changing the lives of Americans. Nevertheless, the terror act of 9/11 has
people preparing for more international terrorist attacks, but in the last 16 years the only terrorist
attacks in the US have been domestic terrorism. This fear of international terrorism was a hot topic
during the 2016 Presidential Election, where one party wanted to ban a religious group of people
from entering the US. Yet, domestic terror attacks are by far more many than international ones: in
our data set, only about 14% of the almost 82,000 terror incidents were international terror events
(Liebert, Kokakos, Schulze, 2011, p. 1). This shows that citizens do not know the different between
international terrorism and domestic terrorism, because if they did, there would more focus on
domestic terrorism even though terrorism is so rare compared to other crimes (Newman Clark,
2008). I am going to discuss the difference between international terrorism and domestic terrorism.
International terrorism has a specific definition as described in 18 as code 2331. For instance, in

The Development of an Effective Pricing Strategy for a...
Part A: You have been asked to develop an effective pricing strategy for a brand launch. Describe
the sequence of steps, along with key questions to ask the client company.
The first consideration is to define the product: is it a luxury product, which is promoted
partially upon its image of exclusivity, or is the item a product that is promoted primarily on
value? The price of the item will eventually have to enable the company to be in the black, so
even if the product is priced low to start, there must be some advance planning of what is a
feasible final, target price for the item. For example, if the input goods of the product are relatively
high, compared with competitors (such as selling organic beef burgers, versus those sold with
cheaper meat), assuming cost leadership as a pricing strategy throughout the product s lifecycle
would not be advised. However, initial penetration pricing can be used to encourage consumers to
try the product: Penetration pricing...skimming pricing by entering the market with a tangible
product or service at a low price in order to appeal to the mass market immediately (7.4 Pricing
policies, n.d, Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Management). In some instances, such as the
development of a new form of technology or a drug, to recoup the initial outlay of R D costs, an
opposite strategy is deployed: A skimming price policy is the use of a high initial price, often three
to four times the factory cost, with the knowledge that the price

Bank Robber And Capiche
I think the central message of this short story is to live life with purpose and originality. In this
story, I hated Anders from the second he started smart mouthing the bank teller. Then, I thought
he was just an arrogant idiot when he was mocking the bank robber. I felt that he deserved
getting shot and he basically asked for it. This dialogue especially gave me the inkling he was
eager to get shot; The bank robber and Anders exchanged words, You think you can fuck with me?
No. Fuck with me again, you re history. Capiche? Anders burst our laughing. He covered his mouth
with both hands and said, I m sorry, I m sorry, then snorted helplessly through his fingers and said,

  • 2. The Beliefs Of Donald Trump And Trump Criticism These are the NFL Players Protesting today amid Trump Criticism Are Americans going about protesting their beliefs in the correct way? Standing during the National Anthem has been a way Americans show respect for their country since the 1800 s, therefore not standing is nothing short of disrespectful. Last year, former pro quarterback Colin Kaepernick started kneeling during the National Anthem because he believed standing was social and racial injustice and players today have followed his actions. After a statement from President Trump on Sunday, September 24th, there has been nothing but more chaos and protests throughout our Nation s professional football teams. All American citizens should know and understand that protesting is perfectly acceptable but protesting and disrespecting something that is completely irrelevant is not, there is nothing anyone can do about who the elected President is and you can t take everything Donald Trump says seriously, but regardless of the situation, it is never acceptable Kneel during our National Anthem. America is a country all about freedom, therefore those who choose to protest have every right to do so but disrespecting something that has been a part of the American tradition for over two hundred years is not the right way to go about it. Colin Kaepernick started the trend of kneeling during the National Anthem last year and said he refuses to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of ... Long term control drugs for asthma are used to prevent symptoms in people with moderate to severe asthma. You must take them every day for them to work. Take them even when you feel okay. Inhaled steroids prevent symptoms by preventing airway swelling. These work very well and are almost always the first choice. Long acting beta agonist inhalers also help prevent asthma symptoms. These drugs should be used together with an inhaled steroid drug. It may be easier to use an inhaler that contains both drugs. The thematic focus of this paper will be Yang s portrayal of the challenges faced by multicultural ethnicities searching for cultural acceptance in a white America. This novel tells of three different stories which ultimately merge and progress with one another. Initially, it appears as though there are three main characters: Monkey King, a legend who rules over Flower Mountain, Jin Wang, an Asian third grader who has moved from San Francisco to a stereotypical middle class white American suburb, and finally, Danny. • 8. Persuasive Essay On Community Service The options for community service are endless. After narrowing down my options, I applied to volunteer at the Crystal Lake Public Library this past summer. Having to go in for an interview was a new experience for me, considering how I have never applied for a job. I believe that the exposure to the interview process did two things for me: first, it put me out of my comfort zone, and second, it taught me invaluable lessons about applying for future jobs and programs. This is because I am the kind of person who can get nervous easily, and I struggle to hide it sometimes. An interview is a type of situation that I would feel nervous in; however, I was able to overcome my fear and apply to the library anyways. Therefore, I learned what I should expect to be asked, and I understand how I should properly respond. Once I was accepted to the library s volunteer network, I was able to choose which department I would work for in order to serve the community. By volunteering at the library, I improved the Youth Services department, particularly by participating in the Adopt a Shelf program. One part of my job was to rearrange the books in the correct order when they got disorganized. This made it easier for parents and children to find the books, movies, and CDs they were looking for. Another task that I enjoyed was replacing the books to their proper location from the clean up cart. It is important for books to be on the shelves where they belong because otherwise it appears that books are not available. My favorite part of volunteering for the library, however, was getting to help kids pick out the books they were looking for. I remember many of the people I helped, but one of my fondest moments occurred on one of my first days. I was working in the junior fiction department, and there was a young girl there. She wanted to find a new series of books to read for the summer reading program. It was special to show her the novels that I read when I was her age, especially when she chose to start the Mother Daughter Book Club books: my favorite series in middle school. It was moments like that that made me proud to be a part of the Crystal Lake Public Library and their volunteer team. As a result of my work at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The Importance Of Freedom In American Society One of the foundations of American society is the belief that freedom reigns above all else. However, this does not seem to be the case in recent years. Due to early opposition to organization, the Constitution in the United States outlines rights to freedom unprecedented in other areas around the globe. Based originally in freedom of religion, American freedom exists in all arenas. For example, freedom of speech provides all people with the ability to say anything on their mind. In some situations, however, freedom does not offer the sense of safety many individuals desire. Recently there have been several instances in the American cultural sphere that seem to lean the culture towards embracing safety, even though such practices may compromise freedom itself. Instances of the sort include the desire for protection from racism and violence based on race, availability of safe spaces, as well as opposition to their establishment, isolationist policies within political parties, social media influences and targeted advertising, as well as fear from large uncertainties like gun abuse and terrorism. Freedom from ideas discourages freedom of ideas, but offers an illusion of safety to the individual. Race relations have for generations been incredibly sensitive since the acceptance and expansion of slavery in the 16th century. The ownership of another person due to their skin color is not ethical in today s society and due to the overall lack of action taken to undo said actions, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Issues Surrounding The Legalization Of Euthanasia This essay will critically discuss slippery slope arguments with reference to the issues surrounding the legalization of euthanasia. Firstly, the foundations of a slippery slope argument will be discussed, along with the usual fallacious nature of this type of argument, also to be discussed, is if slippery slope arguments ever provide good reasons for accepting their conclusions. Secondly, euthanasiawill be introduced and discussed, this will be done using an example of a slippery slope argumentby John Keown from his book Euthanasia, ethics and public policy: and argument against legalization. From this example, the moralityof euthanasia will be discussed as to whether slippery slope arguments show that euthanasia is immoral. Lastly, euthanasia will be discussed with reference utilitarianism, and if euthanasia would potentially be viewed as a good or moral option by utilitarian theory or if it would be viewed as immoral. Slippery slope arguments are often used to argue that if we allow something to become legal we will be stepping onto the slippery slope to allowing something viewed as morally wrong to also become legal. These arguments are used often within society, although most of the time they are used in a casual manner and the distance between point A and B is so large they are not taken seriously, (Spielthenner, 2010; Jefferson, 2014). For that reason slippery slope arguments as a general idea are not considered to be good logical arguments. So, slippery slope ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Socrates believed that a person should question their motives and what they valued in life. He believed a life spent pursuing material gain or power was a life that was not a life well spent. Instead Socratesbelieved that a person should constantly be looking inward. They should question their motives and better themselves by correcting any motives or actions that are not pure. To Socrates the noblest pursuit in life was the quest for knowledge. He wanted people to question what they knew and search for answers for that which they did not know. While I agree with most of Socrates ideas on the unexamined life I do not agree that an unexamined life is wasted. I agree with Socrates that we should constantly be looking to better ourselves by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several reasons for my position on this. First, it is very possible for a person to live an unselfish life without self examination. For example we have no idea if Florence Nightingale spent time examining her own life. Yet, even if she spent no time on self examination I believe she still would have been a great person. I believe some people are motivated by a desire to help others that does not require them to examine their own lives to motivate them to do good. While conversely it is possible for an evil person to understand what their motivations and desires are, while doing nothing at all to better themselves. If self examination does anything it maximizes a person s potential. An unexamined life can be considered a full life that accomplished many great things, but it is likely that if the person had spent time examining their life they could have accomplished even more. The documentary is about Nevsun, a Canadian mining company for permitting forced labor and abuse of human rights in Bisha mine in Eretria. The documentary is prepared and presented by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Fifth Estate in February 2016. The film meshes well with the unfortunate miseries that civilians have to endure under the aristocratic regime of President Isaias Afwerki. The film is incredibly mind boggling and captivating in disclosing felonious activities by the Nevsun in collaboration with the Eritrea s government. The film attempts to portray how compromised cooperation between private firms and aristocratic regimes leads to forced labor; abuse of human right and crimes against humanity ( Nevsun In Eritrea: Dealing With A Dictator The Fifth Estate ). The film focuses its attention on the use of forced conscripted military labor. Indisputably, the film highlights the miseries of Eritrean in implausible style. An extensive investigation by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation highlights how Nevsun, through Segen could have been collaborating with the Eritrean dictatorial regime for cheap labor. Apparently under the military conscription Eritrea, every man below the age of fifty serves in the army for an indefinite period. Ultimately, Jimmy follows the wrong path. Jimmy not only fails to find his daughter s murderer, but he also kills Dave along too. By looking though a psychoanalytic lens, one can interpret Jimmy s fatherly instincts which are to try to unearth his daughter s murderer no matter the cost. Not only can one psychoanalytically observe the father from Mystic River, Jimmy Markum, but can also psychoanalytically compare one to the father from The Lovely Bones, Jack Salmon. Jack Salmon is the frustrated heroic father of the murdered Susie Salmon. Jack is the one who knows the truth of his daughter s murder, but can t prove it. Just as Jack quotes, If you start something, you finish it. You don t stop until you get it right. If you don t get it right, you start over again and you keep going as long as you can (Sebold 12). This quote demonstrates Jack s perseverance towards catching Susie s murderer. Regardless of the number of attempts to obtain justice for Susie, Jack never ends up victorious. • 23. How Asatru Is A Religion That Has Close Ties With Norse... Asatru is a religion that has close ties with Norse mythology. The name of the religion, Asatru, is a twofold word that gets it s meaning from Old Norse. The first half of the word, Asa, means Gods and Goddesses and the second half Tru, means to have faith or belief in. Altogether Asatru means to have faith in the gods. Asatru can be considered part of the Neo pagan family of religion since it has to do with Norse Heathenism. The beginning of Asatru was not the start of the religion itself yet a revival of an older religion. Before Asatru there was the Nordic religion. This religion was practiced before Christianity came around. The Nordic religion is thousands of years old and its beginnings are lost in prehistory. Yet, it is associated with the age of Vikings. Beinteinsson even petitioned for Asatru to be a recognized religion in the early 1970s. After about a year of petitioning, Asatru became a known religion in Iceland. The conceptual air carrier is called Poppi and they have analyzed the stress experienced by travelers and other industry shortcomings to focus on the needs of the passenger while ignoring established industry practices. Would these radical ideas offered by Poppi create a wake up call for the airline industry, and particularly legacy carriers? Professor Taneja explains that most airlines acknowledge the importance of disruptive innovation, however, their degree of reaction varies greatly from one carrier to another (Accenture, 2017). He also notes the industry is divided in their reaction to disruption with some continuing business as usual and others completely overhauling how they do business altogether. Strategies for transformation in dealing with each carrier s workforce, processes, and legacy systems requires the right mindset and leveraging emerging technologies. Poppi attempts to addresses these issues while focusing on what bothers air travelers most and changing the mindsets of major carriers to envision the future of air travel. • 28. A Worldwide Problem Of Global Warming Electric Cars There is a worldwide problem of Global Warming. It is increasing day after day, harming our planet s atmosphere by reducing the strength of the ozone layer. Global warming is putting all basic human needs in jeopardy. There are various reasons behind global warming. One of the major reasons is fuel engine cars and trucks we use in our everyday lives. Fuel engine cars leave a trail of unhealthy monoxide gas as the result of combustion in the engine. Carbon Monoxide is one of many gases which is harmful to the ozone layer. Global warmingis already causing high temperatures, rising sea levels, floods, and droughts. To help reduce the effects of the fuel engine cars on our environment we should start using electric cars. Electric cars run on rechargeable batteries which do not leave a trail of carbon monoxide. Electric cars are fuel efficient vehicles which use less gas to travel the same distance as their less efficient counterparts. When we burn less fuel, we generate fewer emissions. When emissions go down, the pace of global warming slows. Cleaner fuels produce fewer emissions when they are burned. Some fuels such as those made from biofuels can reduce emissions by 80 percent compared to gasoline, and cleaner extraction techniques can ensure that dirty fuel like oil doesn t get dirtier. Electric cars will also help many countries stop fighting over fuel and also give countries independence. Electric cars should be globalized so that it helps create a ... The Curriculum For The Class Perhaps when writing the curriculum for the class you could consider some of these ideas, it is important to reach out to each of the students and make them feel comfortable and want to take interest in what they are learning. According to Interest Theory it is important for students to find value in what they are learning. Some examples of this include; when a student is able to apply what they have learned to everyday occurrences, being able to gain gratification from achievements, and even feel the recognition of a practiced skill as useful. Attribution Theory implies that as a teacher it is important to create an environment where many different cultures and viewpoints are valid and offered. Calvin makes a point by saying that sometimes his ideas are too big so that no one cares. So if you encourage this out of the box thinking and give Calvin opportunities to show he knows what he is talking about Calvin will take more interest in what he is learning. Tying in Self Determination Theory into the curriculum. Calvin would then be intrinsically motivated when you give him the opportunity to test his knowledge with a topic that interests him. And for all that I remembered, I decided that the Animal WelfareInstitute (AWI) was the interest group I felt strongly for and chose to research. Animals are a big part of many people s lives. They provide companionship; they provide daily assistance to those that have deficits and are having difficulty functioning in their daily life; they provide security and help keep a watchful eye on things, plus so much more. And yet, with all that animals do for us, there are those that are treated with such little regard, care, and cruelty. They are unable to speak for themselves and therefore, they need a voice to speak for them. Mission: The Animal Welfare Institute is an organization that provides a voice for animals in pain. Since its founding in 1951, AWI has sought to alleviate the suffering inflicted on animals by people. In the organization s early years, our particular emphasis was on the desperate needs of animals used for experimentation. In the decades that followed, we expanded the scope of our work to address many other areas of animal suffering. We seek better treatment of animals everywhere in the laboratory, on the farm, in commerce, at home, and in the wild . At present, there are several ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Comparing Kenneth Branagh s And Gregory Doran There have been many movie adaptations of Hamlet ever since adapting Shakespeare s plays into movies became a profitable venture. Two of the more popular adaptations were Kenneth Branagh s in 1996 and Gregory Doran s in 2009. Even though they were both based on the same play, these two movies differ greatly due to director s license. Kenneth Branaghs and Gregory Doran s adaptation of Hamletdiffer greatly in terms of the setting and how each of the main characters are portrayed. One of the main differences in the two films is the setting, The original play is based in 1600s Denmark, which Branagh s movie follows for the most part. His interpretation of Elsinore Castle is posh and colorful. There is much contrast in the colors and setting of the scenes, with some being in the bright common room of the castle, with others being in the catacombs or in the dark woods outside of the castle. Doran s film has a more modern setting to it. The attire worn by the characters consist mainly of suits and modern dresses, compared to the more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Doran s Hamlet, portrayed by David Tennant, is more childish and tongue in cheek than Branagh s. He does not wear shoes and has random outbursts of insanity. His madness is not clearly explained, so the audience is confused as to why he is insane, or if he was insane this entire time. • 51. The Ethical And Religious Aspects Of Circumcision Male circumcision is performed for either medical or religious purposes. There is a significant amount of controversy regarding to the benefits and complications of male circumcision, therefore, it is a common research topic in both pediatrics, urology, ethics, and public health. Many studies have found multiple benefits in circumcision and as of today, the World Health Organization finds circumcision as one of the preventive methods against HIV/AIDS infection and transmission in developing countries (WHO, 2014). However, circumcision is not totally safe procedure and several acute and chronic risks are expected. The aim of this paper is the presentation of advantages and disadvantages associated with male circumcision based on peer reviewed articles and recommendations of WHO. The ethical and religious aspects of circumcision will not be discussed in this paper. Introduction Circumcision is a surgical removal of the prepuce (the foreskin), which is a highly innervated and vascularized section of penile tissue that provides both protection and motorization to the glans penis. One of the main medical indication for circumcision is phimosis that is unresponsive to pharmacological treatment. Phimosis is a scarring and thickening of the foreskin that prevents its retraction back over the glans (Sorokan, et at, 2015). During decision making for a circumcision it is very important to differentiate phimosis from normal physiological process, because many patients undergo ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Terrorism And Domestic Terrorism The idea of terrorism is to incite terror of a government by intimidation or coercion. For example, the Weathermen, they used bombs to blow up symbols of the United States to instill terror into the government, to get Americans out of Vietnam War. However, the jihadist of al Qaeda crashed two planes into the World Trade Center to provoke fear into the US by showing weakness in our private transportation system and changing the lives of Americans. Nevertheless, the terror act of 9/11 has people preparing for more international terrorist attacks, but in the last 16 years the only terrorist attacks in the US have been domestic terrorism. This fear of international terrorism was a hot topic during the 2016 Presidential Election, where one party wanted to ban a religious group of people from entering the US. Yet, domestic terror attacks are by far more many than international ones: in our data set, only about 14% of the almost 82,000 terror incidents were international terror events (Liebert, Kokakos, Schulze, 2011, p. 1). This shows that citizens do not know the different between international terrorism and domestic terrorism, because if they did, there would more focus on domestic terrorism even though terrorism is so rare compared to other crimes (Newman Clark, 2008). I am going to discuss the difference between international terrorism and domestic terrorism. International terrorism has a specific definition as described in 18 as code 2331. • 53. The Development of an Effective Pricing Strategy for a... Part A: You have been asked to develop an effective pricing strategy for a brand launch. Describe the sequence of steps, along with key questions to ask the client company. The first consideration is to define the product: is it a luxury product, which is promoted partially upon its image of exclusivity, or is the item a product that is promoted primarily on value? The price of the item will eventually have to enable the company to be in the black, so even if the product is priced low to start, there must be some advance planning of what is a feasible final, target price for the item. For example, if the input goods of the product are relatively high, compared with competitors (such as selling organic beef burgers, versus those sold with cheaper meat), assuming cost leadership as a pricing strategy throughout the product s lifecycle would not be advised. However, initial penetration pricing can be used to encourage consumers to try the product: Penetration pricing...skimming pricing by entering the market with a tangible product or service at a low price in order to appeal to the mass market immediately (7.4 Pricing policies, n.d, Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Management). In some instances, such as the development of a new form of technology or a drug, to recoup the initial outlay of R D costs, an opposite strategy is deployed: A skimming price policy is the use of a high initial price, often three to four times the factory cost, with the knowledge that the price ...
