“ It’s not a secret - my pride for our community; We have come a long way and
overcome a pretty tough history – we have endured years of systemic oppression,
governmental and territorial abuses but throughout all of those ‘regimes’ we have
been diligent in pushing every chance we can to fight for our collective rights and
ultimately for a better future.
Throughout all of the difficulties our community and people have faced – we have
proven our resiliency with a vibrant sense of humour & wit. I know I have
demonstrated my advocacy for our members, my long serving stability, optimism
and my love for our community. It’s also been demonstrated that any benefits I seek
are sought for our community and never for myself as an individual – an important
thing to factor in when choosing a leader. We need leaders who work together.”

• Focus on the real issues - not the theatrics of infighting politics – people
waste time trying to tarnish the image of others in an attempt to make
themselves look better. – We have to work with one another, why ruin
the relationship before it might begin.
• Mattagami has proven that it values stability and integrity – we have
a vast traditional knowledge and need to respect those non-
conventional education systems of traditional wisdom as an important
approach to our cultural integrity.
• Rise up and stand for the best interest of the community. That means
the community’s priorities.

community’s rights – not selfish motivation.
