Information
The Mattagami First Nation Community Development
Trust is set up for the long term benefit of the
members of Mattagami First Nation.
TheTrust was established and operates under the
Trust Agreement that was ratified by Mattagami
First Nation members in April 2004.
One of the roles of theTrust is to determine where to
invest the annual interest earned each year.

areas that would have the biggest
impact on as many members
possible, while also growing the
fund for the future.

QUICK FACT
• Annually the Trust is
required to meet a minimum
of 4 times per year to carry
out Business of the Trust as
per the Trust Agreement.
• An AGM is required each
year to update members on
the Activities of the Trust to
the beneficiaries.
• We also meet with the Chief
& Council annually to report
on activities of the Trust -
this ensures that we
maintain a good working
relationship with the
leadership.

8. The Mattagami Trust is made up of seven (7) trustees.
Term Duration for eachTrustee is staggered in accordance with terms of the Trust Document.

10. Trust
Elections
In June of 2019 the MattagamiTrust will be hosting an
election for the following posts:
 2 Community ResidentTrustees
 1 Non-ResidentTrustee

11.  Over the past 12 years we have been able to
not only maintain theTrust Principal Balance
of $4M, but grow it by a $1M all while
distributing over $1M to projects &
initiatives, and administration
 Since 2014 we have grown theTrust by over
$1.15M

presented $10,000 towards the Mattagami FN Fire Department.
