3. Trust Information
• The Mattagami First Nation Community Development Trust is set up
for the long term benefit of the members of Mattagami First Nation.
• The Trust was established and operates under the Trust Agreement
that was ratified by Mattagami First Nation members in April 2004.
• One of the roles of the Trust is to determine where to invest the
annual interest earned each year.
4. Goal
To focus & utilize project funding to areas that would have the
biggest impact on as many members possible with the limited
funds available.
To receive accreditation for each member of the Trust.
7. Purpose
Excerpt from Trust Agreement
The Trustees shall administer the Trust in accordance with the terms set out in the Mattagami First
Nation Community Development Trust Agreement to enhance among other things, the growth
and capacity of the First Nation in respect of community development, health, education,
economic development and cultural development of the First Nation and its members

QUICK FACT
• Annually the Trust is required to
meet a minimum of 4 times per
year to carry out Business of the
Trust as per the Trust Agreement.
• An AGM is required each year to
update members on the Activities
of the Trust to the beneficiaries.
• We also meet with the Chief &
Council annually to report on
activities of the Trust - this ensures
that we maintain a good working
relationship with the leadership.

9. Trustee Complement
The Mattagami Trust is made up of seven (7) trustees.
Term Duration for each Trustee is staggered in accordance with
terms of the Trust Document.
• Dorothy Naveau Community Resident Trustee - 2009 (6 Year Term)
• Cathy Naveau Community Resident Trustee - 2013 (6 Year Term)
• Tracy Harnack Community Resident Trustee – 2013 (6 Year Term)
• Greg Luke Community Non-Resident Trustee - 2013 (6 Year Term)
• Darlene Lafontaine Independent – Re-Appointed 2011 (3 Year Term)
• James Naveau Council Appointed – Term Renews Election Year
& Jennifer Constant
10. Trust Elections took place on May 25th, 2013 to fill:
• Two (2) Community Resident Trustee positions, &
• One (1) Community Non-Resident Trustee position

11. New Financial Manager
In accordance with the Trust Agreement - the
Trustees along with Kelly Rodgers of Rodgers
Investment Consulting went through a Trust
Manager Interview selection process.

Trust Workshop
Mattagami FN Trust hosted a 2-day
Trust & Investment Workshop on
November 20 & 21 at the Timmins Native
Friendship Centre.
The workshop was designed to educate and
engage participants in discussion on the
fundamentals of First Nations Settlements
and IBA Trusts and Investment
Management.

10 Year Anniversary Accomplishment
Over the past 10 years we have been able to not
only maintain the Trust Principal Balance of $4M
but grow it by a $1M all while distributing close
to $1M to projects & initiatives.
