Presentation on an event to gather and increase social/mental health amongst elders in the region.

2. On July 12, 2014 an event was planned for
elders of Mattagami First Nation and Gogama
The goal of the event was to provide a
gathering for residents aged 55+ an
opportunity to socialize with each other
A supper & dance was hosted in Mattagami
75 people attended the event
Sponsorship was provided by Mattagami First
Nation, IAMGOLD, and Wabun Health Services
An organizer and a group of volunteers, two
high school & a few elementary students
helped during the event or with decorating

26. The Youth of Yesterday who stayed until the
end of the dance got together for a group
picture!

27. To all those who came out for the supper,
and those who stayed around for the dance
To the volunteers, and staff who helped out
with the different aspects of the event
To the sponsors, without whom this event
would not have been possible
I sincerely hope that this event provided a
great experience, a social venue, and most
of all I hope it provided smiles, laughter and
fun!
