4. Problem Analysis
• The impact of vibration on product quality and consumer
satisfaction makes vibration control a key design factor in
all passenger trains. Low levels of vibration are important
elements for commercially competitive products because
they affect traveler’s comfort and satisfaction. In trains,
vibrations can be significantly improved by reducing the
transmission of structure borne vibration and airborne
sound from the tracks to the passenger compartment via
the floor.

5. • The level of vibrations produced by the source – train – is
dependent on the condition of the wheel-track interface, the
structural design of the train and of the line, the state of the rolling
stock and of the infrastructure and the operating speed of the
vehicle. One of the problems in railway transport is the emission of
vibrations and noise which are released in the environment and
have a negative impact on the infrastructure, increase maintenance
costs, both for infrastructure and rolling stock. Therefore, the
products and systems for damping vibrations significantly reduce
the costs and wear of components.
