Assignment: Final Reflection

DESCRIPTION
I did my practicum period at Instituto San Miguel in Las Flores, Buenos
Aires province. We were asked to plan two didactic units, including different
mandatory elements or topics, such as Reflections on interculturality, CSE
activities and Skills integration, among others.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I delivered synchronous lessons by Zoom
and sent activities for the rest of the weeks, using Google Classroom. In the
month of March, I had only one lesson at schoolwith my group of students.
FEELINGS
It was a great challenge for me to plan the activities and lessons using
technology. At the very beginning I felt kind of lost dealing with all these
technologic tools and the new working methodology, but as time went by, I
became more confident and managed to overcome obstacles in my way.
EVALUATION
Although I had a special rapport (Scrivener, 2011, chapter 1) with my
students, because I knew them from last year, very few students connected
to lessons or submitted their activities. This does not mean that I did not
enjoy and learn from my practicum period. On the other hand, it was an
enriching and a positive experience for me as well as it has contributed to
my personal and professionaldevelopment. I am sure, I will never forget my
secondary practicum period.
ANALYSIS
In this particular period, I put into practise what I have learnt in Prácticas III
and in Didáctica Específica para el Nivel Secundario. This knowledge and
information gained in both subjects, helped me integrate the four language
skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking, through all my lessons as well
as with the proposed activities I sent my students. It also helped me deal with
my lesson plans in all aspects, such as learning aims, materials, timing,
procedures, etc.
CONCLUSION
In retrospect, I would do the same again. Firstly, because I believe I did my
best and I did not hesitate to follow my tutor’s clear instructions and
suggestions. Secondly, the fact that very few students were connected to my
lessons was not only in my particularly case, it happened in most of the
subjects. Finally, I would say that it was a positive and productive
experience.
ACTION PLAN
Next year, if I had to deliver my lessons and send activities using the same
methods, I would be more prepared and with the appropriate tools and
knowledge to overcome any kind of situation or problems.

Redondo final reflection pass

  • 1. Práctica Docente III 2020 Tutor: Aurelia Velázquez Assignment: Final Reflection Deadline: November 11 Student: Luis Andrés Redondo
  • 2. DESCRIPTION I did my practicum period at Instituto San Miguel in Las Flores, Buenos Aires province. We were asked to plan two didactic units, including different mandatory elements or topics, such as Reflections on interculturality, CSE activities and Skills integration, among others. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I delivered synchronous lessons by Zoom and sent activities for the rest of the weeks, using Google Classroom. In the month of March, I had only one lesson at schoolwith my group of students. FEELINGS It was a great challenge for me to plan the activities and lessons using technology. At the very beginning I felt kind of lost dealing with all these technologic tools and the new working methodology, but as time went by, I became more confident and managed to overcome obstacles in my way. EVALUATION Although I had a special rapport (Scrivener, 2011, chapter 1) with my students, because I knew them from last year, very few students connected to lessons or submitted their activities. This does not mean that I did not enjoy and learn from my practicum period. On the other hand, it was an enriching and a positive experience for me as well as it has contributed to
  • 3. my personal and professionaldevelopment. I am sure, I will never forget my secondary practicum period. ANALYSIS In this particular period, I put into practise what I have learnt in Prácticas III and in Didáctica Específica para el Nivel Secundario. This knowledge and information gained in both subjects, helped me integrate the four language skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking, through all my lessons as well as with the proposed activities I sent my students. It also helped me deal with my lesson plans in all aspects, such as learning aims, materials, timing, procedures, etc. CONCLUSION In retrospect, I would do the same again. Firstly, because I believe I did my best and I did not hesitate to follow my tutor’s clear instructions and suggestions. Secondly, the fact that very few students were connected to my lessons was not only in my particularly case, it happened in most of the subjects. Finally, I would say that it was a positive and productive experience. ACTION PLAN
  • 4. Next year, if I had to deliver my lessons and send activities using the same methods, I would be more prepared and with the appropriate tools and knowledge to overcome any kind of situation or problems.
