Our Mission

SWBi International provides retained executive search recruitment and related management consulting
services to corporations, both large and small, service organizations, venture capitalists and the like,
whose needs cannot be met by internal resources. Our mission is to assist clients in finding and
developing outstanding senior management by working closely with the client management to ensure the
best possible match with corporate and functional responsibilities, along with personal characteristics
necessary for a smooth transition and successful performance. Partnership Responsibility In establishing
partnering relationships with our clients, we assume the primary responsibility of providing them with the
best available candidate choices and then work together to consummate an employment offer with the
target candidate. With our personal attention to all the details, we strive to make a difference by shifting
the burdensome tasks associated with external recruiting from the client to our organization. Staying
power and follow-through are essential elements in a successful search. Once given the parameters of
the job, we prepare a detailed candidate specifications and position description against which all
candidates are measured. When conditions or specifications are changed by the client during the course
of a search, as frequently occurs, we are able to adapt to changes quickly without losing momentum or
critical time.

How We Work

Armed with a working knowledge of our client's business, strategic objectives and management
requirements, we conduct an extensive search for the person who will satisfy our client's immediate
needs and more importantly, become an effective member of the team which shapes and manages the
future development of the client's business. Organization Our firm is purposely organized with a small
group of professionals who are qualified to conduct high-level search assignments. Our principals have
held management posts in industry, finance, and management consulting in addition to having gained
years of experience in executive recruitment. Our firm understands the dynamics of corporate
management from personal experience and we are well-grounded in the methods and networks of
successful management recruiting.

Search Method

 When we have been retained by a client, we commence a search process tightly structured in basic
elements, but tailored very specifically in implementation to the character of the client and the client's
specific requirements.

    •   In our first meeting with the client, we introduce the associates of our firm who will execute the
        assignment. A member of our Research staff is usually included. We believe our client needs to
        know personally everyone who--even indirectly--represents the firm's character.
    •   Through conversations with the appropriate client personnel, we gain a thorough understanding
        of the strategic requirements, work environment, culture and position responsibilities. At the same
        time, we define experience qualifications and personal skills and attributes which would
        characterize a qualified candidate.
    •   We then write a precise description of the responsibilities of the position and the skills and
        characteristics of the qualified candidate. This document, approved by the client, becomes the
        guide for candidate evaluation.
    •   We prepare a target list of corporations where our qualified candidate might be found and then
        identify individual prospects within those corporations.
    •   After an initial contact, we screen prospective candidates and conduct face-to-face interviews on
        the basis of which we select those several candidates whose accomplishments and personal
        characteristics best match the assignment requirements.
    •   Following the interview and selection process, we present to our client an evaluation package,
        including biographical and career information, key strengths and potential weaknesses for each of
        a slate of qualified candidates.
    •   We arrange candidate interviews with our client and, after determining client preferences, we
        conduct thorough candidate reference checks.
    •   We then work in concert with our client to attract the preferred candidate. If our client wishes, we
        assist in the employment negotiations.

A Continuing Relationship

When undertaking an initial client assignment, it is our hope that the quality, integrity and success of our
work will lead to a long-term association. Our past experience has shown that most of our clients continue
to utilize our services on a continuing basis as we earn their trust and confidence to satisfy their needs.
Acting as an extension of the client's management team, we can continue to offer valuable advice and
counsel on a wide scope of organizational, compensation or succession planning matters. Following the
hiring of executives, our first responsibility is to guide the successful candidate, as well as the client, to
adjust to each other’s styles so as to effect a smooth transition into the organization. Many newly placed
executives are expected to "hit the deck running" on the new job, which in itself can be a challenge to all
parties. Assuming responsibility and authority too fast or too slowly can cause problems for both the new
executive and the client personnel--so frequently we can provide follow-up counsel to assist the parties in
resolving issues and management styles before they become serious problems. Introducing new
executives into an established company, or even a start-up situation, must be a well thought out and
planned event. Our understanding and sensitivity to the problems can be a valuable resource to our
clients, and helps realize the full benefits of the search effort.
