A community is composed of families that share common goals and responsibilities through institutions like homes, schools, churches, and government. There are two main types of communities: rural and urban. An urban area is near a city where most people have non-agricultural jobs and it is very developed with houses and buildings close together. A rural area is outside of towns and cities with a low population density and small settlements where farming is more common. Working together, communities can achieve their shared goals regardless of whether they are located in an urban or rural setting.
