2. RAJIV AWAS YOJANA (RAY)
The various components of this projects includes:
 Identification of Slum Pockets
 Conduction of Socio-economic and Biometric
survey of the beneficiaries
 Conduction of Total Station/ Plane table survey
of the slum area.
 Preparation of Base map using GIS and Satellite
Images.
 MIS and GIS integration
 Preparation of architectural Layouts of the Slum
area for its development
 Preparation of DPR

3. INNOVATION IN RAY REQUIRED
 All the Socio-economic, biometric and total
station survey data are currently being
integrated offline which will be later on
submitted to the governing authority.
 Such data shall be made available to
WAPCOS field offices by preparing an online
module of the same.
 This will also ensure that the status on the
work done by WAPCOS in RAY projects can
be easily retrieved and produced before the
clients.

4. UPDATE ON PREPARATION OF SLUM FREE CITY
PLAN OF ACTION.
 GIS Mapping: The whole GIS-MIS component
shall be available on our WAPCOS site. The
various components of GIS which are completed
are as follows:
i. Preparation of City Base Map.
ii. Slum Marking using Satellite Images.
iii. Digitization of DP maps, Village/ Cadastral maps
and their rectification.
iv. Road Digitization.
v. Marking of important Landmarks.

8. UPDATE ON PREPARATION OF INNOVATIVE PILOT
PROJECTS.
 Status on Pilot projects prepared
i. Pilot Projects for Ambedkar Nagar, Bhola Nagar and
Gandhinagar Pocket is on the verge of completion.
ii. Clearing the reservation of Garden and Cementry
encroached by Slum, Development of Roads, water
supply lines & Drainage Lines, provision for
STP, Primary health care center, Electric Sub-
Station and school is included in the pilot project.

9. COMMUNITY MEETING AT SLUM
During community meetings information such as the objective of the
scheme, the contribution of the beneficiaries in the project, the type of
houses to be built if sanctioned, their area etc. are discussed.

10. CONDUCTION OF TOTAL STATION SURVEY
The total station survey is carried out in order to confirm the no. of huts
present in the slum including tracing their exact location. This data is later on
merged with the satellite images so as to propose a Slum development
scheme

After completion of the total station and the biometric survey, the data is
integrated with the GIS base map prepared. Thus, the data of each and
every beneficiary can be retrieved as and when required.
