The document describes an automatic rain-operated windshield wiper system. The system uses a conductive sensor that detects rain and an OP-AMP comparator circuit to control the wiper motor. When it is dry, the sensor has high resistance and the wiper is off. When rain is detected, the sensor resistance decreases and the comparator turns on the transistor and relay, activating the wiper motor until the sensor dries out again. The system aims to automate windshield wiper operation based on rain detection.

Automatic wiper using piezoelectric materialeSAT Journals
Abstract
‘Piezoelectric Material’ is a boon to the modern world where scarcity of resources is major problem. The project is all about
running the wiper of a vehicle by using piezoelectric effect. In this process, a circuit is build using components like piezoelectric
material, capacitor, relay and wiper motor. The circuit runs automatically when the rain drops presses the piezoelectric material
which generates electricity, which in turn is stored in capacitor till a required voltage, is reached to close the relay system to run
the wiper motor. This process helps us to utilize the kinetic energy of the rain drops which would otherwise have gone wasted in
the form of heat energy, sound energy and vibratory energy.
Key Words: Piezoelectric Effect, Transducer, Sensor, Wiper.

The aim is to design and develop a control system based an electronically controlled automotive rain operated motor
The sensor is used to detect the rain or water flow
This circuit can give a visual indication of the rate of air flow. It can be also used to check whether there is air flow in a given space. The filament of a incandescent bulb is the sensing part of the circuit. When there is no air flow the resistance of the filament will be low. When there is air flow the resistance drops, because the moving air will remove some of the heat generated in the filament. This variation in the resistance will produce variation of voltage across the filament. These variations will be picked up by the op-amp (LM339) and the brightness of the LED at its output will be varied proportionally to the airflow.
Block diagram of a typical op-amp – characteristics of ideal and practical op-amp - parameters of opamp – inverting and non-inverting amplifier configurations - frequency response - circuit stability.
The basic Op-amp construction is of a 3-terminal device, with 2-inputs and 1-output, (excluding power connections). • An Operational Amplifier operates from either a dual positive ( +V ) and an corresponding negative ( -V ) supply, or they can operate from a single DC supply voltage.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message

1. AUTOMATIC RAIN OPERATED WIPER
It is a genuine project, which is fully equipped and designed for Automobile
vehicles. This forms an integral part of best quality. This product underwent strenuous
test in our Automobile vehicles and it is good. The Automatic rain operated wiper is a
fully automation project.
This is an era of automation where it is broadly defined as replacement of manual
effort by mechanical power in all degrees of automation. The operation remains an
essential part of the system although with changing demands on physical input as the
degree of mechanization is increased.
2. WORKING PRINCIPLE
In our circuit conductive is used as a sensor unit. The OP-AMP 324 IC is used
as a comparator. The comparator is giving the output voltages depends upon the two
input voltage values.
In our project one input voltage (Reference Voltages) is given to the PIN
number 2 (- ive pin) of 324 IC from the variable resistor (10 K Ohm). The sensor output
is given to the OP-AMP pin number 3 (+ ive pin).
During the non-conductive time the resistance of sensor up to Meg ohm ranges.
When conductive sensor is shorted by means of the water, the resistance suddenly
decreases (below 10 kilo ohm).
Circuit Diagram
3. AT NORMAL CONDITION:-
In normal condition the Resistance of the sensor is high. The voltages
applied to the non-inverting terminal (+ ive) is low when compared to the inverting
terminal voltages (- ive). In that time, the OP-AMP output is –Vsat. (I.e -12 Volt).
The transistor and relay are in “OFF” condition, so the wiper motor is in OFF
condition.
AT RAIN CONDITION:-
In conducting condition the Resistance of the sensor is low due to
conductance of two leads. The voltages applied to the non-inverting terminal (+
ive) is high when compared to the inverting terminal voltages (- ive). In that time,
the OP-AMP output is +Vsat. (I.e +12 Volt). The transistor and relay are in “ON”
condition. This signal is given to the wiper motor, so that it running continuously
until the water is in dry condition.
