Racism And Supremacism In The Death Certificate By Ice Cube
It's haunting, it's jarring, it's loud, it's in your face, Ice Cube's second album Death Certificate is a lot
of things the one thing it's not though is nice. The album opens up with the song "Wrong N**ga to
F**K with", an intense song that goes straight for the jugular. Ice Cube's lyrical assault on
everything wrong with authority, the Justice System, racism and more begins there, where he talks
about beating LAPD police chief Daryl Gates, running with his posse Lench Mob; in "Wrong N**ga
to F**K with" he basically says that he's coming for everyone no holds barred. Death Certificate
challenges the white supremacist the status quo because it's a work of art that brought the problems
that many people of color in America faced back into public attention, problems that white people
had just swept under the rug. He questioned the fairness of authority, brought up the issue of racial
profiling and called out anyone and everyone he could. With Death Certificate Ice Cube examined
racism, created a national conversation on poverty, censorship, free speech, and violence which
reenergized the quest in a new, younger generation for equality.
The main issue at the heart of Death Certificate is racism. In Death Certificate, Ice Cube talks
specifically about White–Black racism and Asian–Black racism. Let's start with the Asian–Black
racism that's discussed on the record. On March 29th, 1991, 15–year–old Latasha Harlins was shot
by a Korean store owner while trying to purchase a bottle

Racism In Racism
Racism is not new in the West. For that matter, more or less, in other parts of the world as well. But
let me focus on the West, where racism has returned with a vengeance once again. As in the past,
this racism will end in tear and bloodshed as well.
There was a time when Westerners treated non–Whites as sub–human. They liquidated the locals in
Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada, and so many other countries and appropriated from
themselves everything the locals had. So the Red Indians, Aborigines, Maories, Eskimos, etc. have
been reduced to tiny populations and forced to live in reservations and at the edges of society. It
ended in tears and blood.
The Whites enslaved Asians, Africans, and Latin Americans and treated them like ... Show more

He has promoted and protected White Supremacists groups and people as president. Remember his
comments on the Charlottesville mayhem where a White supremacist drove a car into the peaceful
protest against the far–right rally or his comment about an American judge of Mexican ancestry?
Brexit, the British decision to leave the European Union, is partly a product of British racism. After
the referendum, the British abused and killed several minority people in hate crimes. While the
UKIP leader Nigel Farage was openly racist, many Tory leaders also demonstrated that they have
always been closet racists.
Elsewhere in the West also racism has raised its head once again. For instance, in France, the
National Front President Marie Le Pen gave a stiff competition to the mainstream candidate in the
2017 Presidential elections. The nationalist leader Sebastian Kurz and his party won the
parliamentary elections in Austria this month.
The far–right leaders of Germany, Alexander Gauland and Frauke Petry, have been making great
strides in Germany though they are not yet close to the seat of power.
How will this phase of racism end? In tears and blood again. In minorities will fight back if push
comes to shove in the West. The

Summary Of Dostoevsky's 'Crime And Punishment'
Yellow has a duality about it, in one hand it represents hope, happiness, and health where as in the
other it firmly grasps sickness, jealousy, and fear. In Dostoevsky's work "Crime and Punishment" he
uses yellow as an indicator for the sinfulness and filth that permeates and surrounds the characters.
To compound the sinful filthy nature of the characters yellow also adopts the form of sickness,
manifesting in both mental and physical states: a sentiment that is mirrored in Perkins Stetsons'
work "The Yellow Wallpaper"
Dostoevsky's depiction of sin and sickness is prevalent throughout his work, often physically
looming over characters and smothering them in it's malevolent tendrils. Dostoevsky's first
indication of this sickness clawing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She sees her image as it "crawls around fast", this apparition represents her lust for freedom as she
begins to "see her out every one of my windows! It is always the same woman, I know, for she is
always creeping and most women do not creep by daylight." Inevitably the narrators confinement in
the yellow walled room snaps her psyche, taking on the full role of the woman in the wallpaper. The
narrator wins her freedom, escaping her societal confinements, represented as her having "pulled off
most of the paper, so now you can't put me back!"
To Raskolnikov yellow manifests his physical frailty upon killing Alyona and his acute paranoia.
While yellow at a glance seems to represent Raskolnikov, he never outwardly states anything yellow
about himself. Yellow permeates the environment Raskolnikov and the other denizens occupy, even
managing to sink its teeth into the broken and dejected. Raskolnikov will look at a man, yellow face,
"bloated from continual drinking" and determine that he is in fact better than him. Raskolnikov
observes "the little yellow room that was like a cupboard or a box" and his mind "craved for space."
Raskolnikov will regard a " yellowish glass filled with yellow water" as below him. This is a man
who determines that he is one of those "superior humans" who have the ability bypass the moral

Argumentative Essay On Winston Churchill
He is thought to be one of the most controversial personalities of world's history. Often referred to as
"the British Bulldog", he has been voted as "the greatest Briton of all times". Some people concern
him as "defender of democracy" and an incredible orator, while others criticize him strongly for his
actions during his being in power. We obviously refer to Winston Churchill, a man who left a
complicated legacy behind him and whose personality and choices influenced – and still do– not
only British politics, but the whole world's ones.
To begin with, Churchill was politically active from an early age. Twice named Prime Minister of
the United Kingdom, he is best known for his participation and his crucial role during World War II.
With his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By many he is concerned as an imperialist, a belligerent leader. He planned to conquest more
countries and expend the British Empire, because he insisted that the "Aryan stock is bound to
triumph". Therefore, it is very likely that his participation in the war was the part of a wider plan and
a deeper motive. He did not just aim to defend his country from a rival. He fought for "a raw white
supremacism", as expressed by Richard Toye in his book "Churchill's Empire" (2010).
It is true that the British leader believed in the superiority of the white race, which explains why his
policies reflect racism as well as fascism. A pretty good example that justifies this opinion is his
attitude towards the starving Indians in 1943. The famine in Bengal broke out because of his
decision to divert food supplies from India to the front lines in Europe during the war and, as a
result, millions of Indians starved to death. Nevertheless, Churchill was indifferent and insisted that
it was their own fault for "breeding like

The Attack On Pearl Harbor
On Sunday, December 7, 1941, the U.S. stepped foot into the territory of the most destructive war
throughout the entire course of history. On this particular day, Japan sent 361 planes launched from
six aircraft carriers and bombed Pearl Harbor, a naval base located in Hawaii. The attack on Pearl
Harbor was the first stage that led us into the war. Many believe that this day was considered to be
among the most darkest days of American history, but was the real reason behind the attack? The
reason Japan attacked Pearl Harbor is because of the embargoes we imposed on Japan, racial
superiority, and the fear of the U.S.'s actions. Firstly, the main reason why Japan attacked Pearl
Harbor is due to the embargo the U.S. laid on Japan. In 1937, Japan attacked China and further
invaded into their territory. To prevent from further destruction of their ally, the U.S. stopped all
trade with Japan. In 1939, the "U.S. began an embargo of aircraft and aircraft parts against Japan."
(Document C) Later on, the United States would result in freezing all Japanese assets and bank
accounts.(Document C) With no money, this sent Japan's economy tumbling down. The final straw
was when the U.S. decided to "impose an embargo on oil shipments to Japan." (Document C) In the
late 1930's, 80% of Japan's oil came from the United States ranging from as high as 380 tons. Since
then, this rate had dropped. (Document D) At the time, Japan highly depended on the resource of oil

The Holocaust : Thank God For The Holocaust
Thank God for the Russians. On the numbing morning of January 19th, 1945, 66,000 people were
finally able to walk free after enduring something so horrific and inhumane that there are still people
to this day that are too dimwitted to acknowledge it. The troops walked past mountains and trenches
of bones that were loosely attached to skin, things that you knew were bodies but could not be
identified as that were riddled with disease and now, death. Bodies of innocent men, women,
children, Jews, Nine days later, Auschwitz was officially liberated having served as the prison,
judge, and extermination of an estimated 2,000,000 innocent people. Monsters aren't supposed to be
real, but the closest you could get to finding one would be to find someone who thinks that, that is
okay. And they're not even trying to hide it. The problem is not that there are people walking around
calling themselves Nazis and waving their flags and using their freedom of speech the problem is
that there are people walking around calling themselves Nazis and waving flags that don't seem to
grasp how repulsive and blatantly wrong this entire situation is and the people that can do something
about it, aren't. As Yehuda Bauer, an Israeli historian and scholar of the Holocaust said, "Thou shalt
not be a victim, thou shalt not be a perpetrator, but, above all, thou shalt not be a bystander." "The

Essay On White Supremacism
White supremacy is the belief that white people are better than any other race. Although many view
these beliefs to be morally incorrect, white supremacists are protected under the 1st Amendment, as
long as they are not striving for violence. Many white supremacist groups classify themselves as
religious organizations and are simply following and spreading the beliefs and words of their god.
The 1st Amendment states that "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". This means that the government cannot force anyone to
practice a religion or prevent them from doing so, meaning that white supremacists are protected by
the 1st Amendment. White supremacists are also granted freedom ... Show more content on

Because congress cannot make laws "abridging the freedom of speech" (1st Amendment), white
supremacists that simply express their beliefs are legal and protected under the 1st Amendment.
Although the Amendment states that the people's assembly must be peaceful, many of the rallies
have turned to violence. However, white supremacists have stated that their rallies were intended to
be peaceful and their opposers were the ones who resorted to violence first, meaning that the white
supremacist groups cannot be blamed for violence and casualties in these instances. In addition to
being lawful according to the Constitution, white supremacy has not been directly condemned by
the president, meaning that it's acceptable to practice. Because Trump has not made public
comments shaming white supremacists, many believe that he does not "represent a condemnation of
this movement". Taking this into consideration, white supremacists should be and are protected
under the 1st Amendment, as long as violence isn't intended or the goal of their rallies and

Examples Of White Supremacism In America
This essay is going to be about white supremacist in america, so it happens to be all neo nazis and
KKK members suddenly ignite once our "president' Donald Trump came into office he also says
mexicans are nothing but drug dealers and rapist just to get more white people on his side so they
made black and brown people the enemy and know that he is president he can make sure that keeps
on going for another 4 years or more. I think white supremacy was an important factor when obama
went into office because he is a african american man and a lot of caucasian men and women hated
him and everything he did but yet a lot of black and hispanic people voted for him and like the
changes he did so that's when the division of race in america started.

Why Is It Important To Have A Safe Space
In reference to safe spaces, John Cleese once said: "The idea that you have to be protected from any
kind of uncomfortable emotion is what I absolutely do not subscribe to." Likewise, I can agree that
individuals should be subjected to some unpleasant emotions in order to become stronger, and more
resilient towards the harsh world around us today. Then again, what if this emotion you feel
becomes crippling, and causes you to live a dejected life? Well, that's where a definitive line should
be drawn. For starters, a safe space is usually identified as an environment in which some can go
where they can be free of any type of physical or emotional distress. Safe spaces are most
commonly known today to protect LGBT individuals from discrimination. However, it can also be
used to shelter some from racism, prejudice, post–traumatic stress triggers, bullying, and so on.
There are substantial benefits to safe spaces; not only are they places where individuals can find
security, but they can also be locations in which people discover comfort within themselves. For
example, a person who has been bullied due to their sexuality, and now consequently feels
uncomfortable being themselves starts going to a safe space at their school. Overtime, they are able
to meet people going through the same thing. Now, the individual can get advice on how to deal
with their situation. Thus, due to going to an environment where they are accepted they now can feel
more secure within themselves.

The Importance Of Free Speech
Free speech is as synonymous with America as the bald eagle, Old Glory or a slugfest on the
gridiron. However, this seemingly inborn right most Americans take for granted has fallen under
attack in recent years. The attack on free speech has come directly from the left, and is focused
squarely on free speech as it relates to conservative voices. The limitation on such speech seems to
only apply when the ideas expressed differ from those on the left. At least this appears to be the case
when it comes to the free speech standards at ESPN according to the most recent occurrence at the
network. What Happened at ESPN? ESPN anchor and face of SC6 (a new version of SportsCenter
with an urban overview) Jamele Hill was only mildly scolded if that after calling the seated
President a "white supremacist" via a recent tweet. The tweet is listed below in its entirety: "Donald
Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself with other white supremacists."
For a bit of background, it's worth noting that Hill is a fairly outspoken liberal who proudly displays
photographs with Michelle and Barack Obama pinned atop her twitter page. It is not surprising
based upon Hill's personal point–of–view that Hill might feel less than generous towards the new
president. However, her role as a public figure does demand some extra discretion, especially when
it comes to basically calling the President of the United States of America a white supremacist. After
all, this wasn't a tweet

Supremacy Of Hate Groups Essay
Supremacy : the state of condition of being superior to all others in authority, power, or status. Why
is this so important? I'll tell you why, the supremacy of many " Hate Groups " such as the KKK ( Ku
Klux Klan ) or any other hate group has been affecting many lives of U.S. citizens such as the
African Americans. Based off the murder case of James Byrd Jr., he was tricked, beaten, and
horrifically chained and dragged by a truck filled with three white supremacists. Given the
circumstances in the nation today and our recent Charlottesville protest, America hasn't changed
much. It has been quiet since Mr. Byrd's death in 1998 and not only til 19 years later do we have
hate groups such as the Nazi coming out marching in Charlottesville. Hate ... Show more content on

The hidden stereotypes that's labeled to every race should all be voided. We may be all different on
the outside, but on the inside we still bleed red. We still have functional organs and we are all the
same human beings therefore every hate group in America should be depleted. All extremism, hate,
racism, and supremacism shouldn't even exist in people's minds. We should ban every existing hate
group in America and condone it as illegal hopefully, but that would be impossible if we have one of
their leaders as our president. Once every citizen of the United States works together and forms one
nation instead of hating within and causing a civil war, we can maintain to protect and defeat all
enemies that would be of a threat to America.
The separations of many citizens and murders of hate groups in America are the reason they
shouldn't be tolerated at all. Hate is such a strong word and has a deep meaning to it, but it shouldn't
even come to the thought of any citizen in the U.S. Even if we are allowed to speak of our mind,
some may find it terribly offending and traumatic to be judged. There shouldn't be any difference in
any citizen even if alienated from another country, they will always maintain to be the same despite
their ethics, morals, or even their own

Puritans 'Followers' Attitudes Towards Women
Followers under the influence of the Puritan belief system become irrational, and develop
xenophobia towards others who do not live under the same ethics as them; this is due to the
limitations that they face under their religion, which include their minimalistic mindset, the
supremacism taught in their daily lives towards women, and the excessive layer of exclusiveness in
their society. One of the major disadvantages of communities that value the views of the Puritans
follow is that the Puritans still believe that men are superior to women. This is a major downside to
the teachings of religions like Puritanism, and negatively affects the followers, especially in the
present day when there have been many movements to counter these arguments,

Examples Of White Supremacism In Canada

high quality of living, many immigrants have chosen and will continue to choose Canada as their
new home country. Canadian officials take pride in accepting and embracing multiculturalism – as

Although the policies have since been abandoned, exploitation has not gone far. Judy Fudge (2011)
gives an example of how the program takes away rights from workers in the fact that live–in
caregivers are hired on contracts to one specific employer; this restricts them to working for one
family, and if any problems arise it could take months before a solution is found and another
contract is created. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms gives Canadian citizens the
mobility rights to move and hold work wherever they please, but because migrant workers are not
yet citizens, this does not apply. Prejudices can also be seen in the difference between the treatment
of white domestic workers and those of colour. Sedef Arat Koc (1999) explains how white domestic
workers are referred to as "nannies" and only expected to carry out caregiving jobs while receiving a
normal pay wage and proper recognition for their work. In contrast, domestic workers of colour are
expected to do house work in addition to their regular duties, are given much less recognition for
their work, and are subject to racist and sexist discrimination in their place of work (Arat–Koc,
1999). Foreign domestic workers also face exploitation in terms of pay. Most caregivers are payed
below minimum wage and are not paid overtime or for extra work done around the house, much of

obeying its orders and decrees". In 1948 in South African elections put white supremacy in place
which allowed them to segregate blacks from whites in South Africa. Over the course of the rule of
supremacists, the South African blacks were treated worse and worse. Eventually, the people
resorted to using protests, peace marches, hunger strikes, boycotting, and other tactics to show their
civil unrest to the white supremacist government. The people of South Africa would have been
supporting the evil of white supremacy and racism by not protesting its rule with civil disobedience.

Human Nature In The Great Gatsby
"Literature opens a dark window on the soul, revealing morea bout what is bad in human nature than
what is good." This quote an be interpreted to mean that in books, the reader more often sees
negative views of the characters than they do positive aspects; one learns more about the darker
sides of humanity in books that they do about the goodness in people. In The Great Gatsby by F.
Scott Fitzgerald, the protagonist, Nick Carraway, is a man living in New York during the 1920s.
While there are good, innocent people in the book, the novel is dominated by those who act against
the moral standard set by F. Scott Fitzgerald and society.. Through the narrator, the reader learns

These two traits aren't necessarily "bad" or evil behavior in themselves but they indicate the
personailty of Tom; he appears to have different morals than society. His lack of morals is further
shown when it is revealed he has a mistress in the city, and even breaks her nose when she mentions
his wife. This is evidence of adultery and Tom's violent side. Adultery was not looked upon
favorably during this time, yet it is pervasive in the novel; even Daisy, the stereotypical "innocent"
girl, commits adultery and Nick doesn't act like it's a big deal. This is a commentaryon the moral
decadence of society in the 1920s, where adultery is supposed to be "sinful" yet appears to be
condoned by the bystanders. Another character who reveals the general moral decadence of society
is Jordan Baker, a professional golfer. Jordan was accused to cheating in golf in the past and is seen
as a liar again when she "borrowed a car with thte top down" (57),

In the 18th and 19th centuries, Italy became divided, barely remaining a nation at all, and watched
as others, such as Britain and France, grew stronger and stronger by greedily imperializing other
areas. The terrorizing display of power by these other nations did not encourage Italy to try and do
the same, but virtually forced them to if they wanted to sustain their status as a global power. Thus,
Italy united itself completely in 1870, proceeding to build up an army to try and make a grab for
land in Africa to establish itself as an imperial power. Unfortunately, when Italy invaded Ethiopia,
they were brutally defeated, and the nation truly became a shell of what it used to be. When World
War I broke out in the early 20th century, Italy decided to participate in it, which drained the
country's remaining funds and depleted resources. When Italian leaders attended the peace treaty
negotiation after the war, they were unable to accomplish the main goal of regaining their land,
angering the people and setting the stage for an ambitious young man named Benito Mussolini to

"globalization, while promoting integration among shrewd elites, incites political and cultural
sectarianism everywhere else, especially among people forced against their will into universal

Persuasive Essay On Accepting The Truth
Considering the world is in constant conflict within individual countries and across the globe,
accepting the truth is necessary towards the search for solutions. Conflicts exist over economics,
politics, and social issues and their outcomes, which compromise global stability. To believe and act
on the truth, society cannot afford to gloss over it. Therefore, it is essential to our survival that the
truth is uncovered and faced with courage, tolerance and perseverance. The truth cannot be glossed
over, as that would diminish the importance and immediate attention it deserves. If it gets
overlooked, then those involved with the situation would think it is not a big deal and continue to
behave wrongly, as they are not condemned for their actions. By explaining the truth as it is, we will
be able to see the world in a different light and can move towards fixing it. One specific example is
the racially motivated riot that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia during the weekend of August
11–12. There, a group of white supremacists held a rally in hopes t convince the city to prevent the
removal of a statue of Robert Edward Lee, an American general who was racist, as well as abusive
towards African Americans. Originally a peaceful rally, fights broke out when counter–protesters

White Supremacism In African Americans
Introduction
Who has the authority to tell anyone they're lesser than a white man? White supremacy is egregious,
and can hurt a whole race. Today the writer is going to write about white supremacy. It was the
worst thing to happen to America, and has consumed a great deal of our history. From Ancient
Egypt to today, 2016, white supremacists have prowled the earth. The height of popularity for this
social phenomenon was during the European colonial expansion, which was in the eighteen
hundreds when many countries started to adopt the idea. Many countries soon after, dropped the
idea of slavery, but then proceeded with racism in various ways. This paper will include discussion
of segregation, slavery and other things like hate groups.

The KKK (Ku Klux Klan) was a very popular subject in the news in the 1930's through 1960's. This
group was the most violent: they did bombings, arson, lynchings, and murders. By the time
segregation started, the KKK had grown bigger, and more violent, so they used that to their
advantage. The KKK had a run for their money when the Civil Rights Movement began. The KKK
retaliated by bombing a church, and murdering a child. Many white supremacists that join groups
like these, grew up in hate driven houses and weren't given direction, guidance, or discipline. Some
future white supremacists were born with parents who were already white supremacists and had

Causes Of Racism In America
Since 1492 when Columbus arrived in the Americas, there has been a monumental clash between
races. Columbus enslaved and mutilated native people, anti semitic Hitler believed that the aryan
race was superior to all other races and that Jews needed to be deported or killed. The reason that
racism is still around today, especially in America, is because of how it began. It has been passed
down through generations and when whites don't feel like they have everything they want, the other
races get blamed. Now in 2017, with Donald Trump as president of the United States, the clash
between races continues. Trump's remarks about immigrants, women and his determination to build
a wall between the United States and Mexico are similar to Hitler's views on immigrants. Hitler
could be considered one of the definitions of racism and having a 2017 president with similar views
to a murderer scares not only many citizens of the U.S. but also makes other countries fearful for the
U.S.'s people. On Saturday, August 12, a "unite the right" rally was planned to protest the removal of
of a statue of Confederate leader, General Robert E Lee. The rally went violent very quickly, turning
the quaint tourist town of Charlottesville into a day long brawl and crime scene. The rally became
violent when groups of alt right and alt left collided. The alt left held signs that said things like,
"Black Lives Matter" and "Racism is not Patriotism". When seeing these signs the group of white

Racism : America And The Deep South
Racism in America and the Deep South The deep south: Georgia; Louisiana; Alabama; Mississippi
and South Carolina is a place foreign to many in the Western World. Although, being within the
same country, it is clear that the 'land of cowboys' couldn't be more different than the beaches of
California and the skyscrapers of New York. However, it is easily one of the places in which
property and land can be bought cheapest. This can be traced back hundreds of years to when the
slave market was first established. When cotton was first found to be extremely useful in the 1800s
it was discovered that the deep south had perfect conditions to grow the crop. Many plantations
were created and by 1850 four million African and African–American slaves were living down
south, with most of them working on the plantations for up to 16 hours a day. Owners taught their
slaves Christianity in order to learn about slaves being loyal to their masters as in many accounts in
the bible. Those owners of plantations with excess of 100 slaves were some of the richest people in
the US with many sending their children to schools in the North or even abroad. Despite the budding
economic growth, the industry collapsed in the 1860s, with the appointment of Abraham Lincoln as
president. As the first Republican president appointed Lincoln's presidential campaign included the
promise of abolishing slavery in the USA, although this was not a popular view with those living in
the deep south at the time,

"On the Subway" is a truly supremacist lyric since it is looking at a dark man and a white ladies in
various angles. This woman is strolling in the metro and sees a dim cleaned man in a hoodie and he
was additionally destitute. She begins to state that she feels that he is an unsafe man for reasons
unknown; moreover, she has an inclination that she will be robbed by him. "He has the casual cold
look of a mugger, alert under hooded lids." This is a bigot comment towards the dark man who was
simply there tending to his very own concerns. She felt terrified for her life that she watched out for
him. The way that she felt that she would get robbed just by his appearance is exceptional bigot. She
called him a low life by what he was wearing too.

Perspective on Gentleman's History In Michael Parenti's, "The Assassination of Julius Caesar",
Parenti claims that Julius Caesar's assassination was not an incident, and that his death would
actually represent the war between the wealthy, powerful conservatives who call themselves,
"gentleman historians" and positive supported lower–class citizens that believed in Caesar's reforms.
Since Caesar was gaining such an incredible amount of power and support from his people, the
senate feared that Caesar's influence would be push these reforms onto the lower–class citizens, and
it would threaten and put the upper–classes privileged interests at risk. The ... Show more content on

In the victory over the battle of Pompey, supporters that sided with Pompey, Caesar still forgave
them, "Surely not his former opponents, the defeated Pompey supporters like Cicero himself, who
had been allowed to return to Rome and the Senate with their properties intact, and who were now
his staunchest and most appreciative friends" (Parenti 172). Caesars concerns wasn't to be biased
and was only in favor of returning to the prosperous, content Rome. The aristocrats then decided to
mastermind a plan with the senators in order to take Caesar's life and remove his reign of reforms.
Upon arrival, Caesar would be gathered around his senators and hear about Tillius Climber's petition
about allowing his brother to be return from being exiled. Delivering the first assault would be led
by Casca, followed by a slash from Cassius, and after encountering twenty–three stab wounds,
Caesar would bleed to death and lay motionless.
In America, our political system was just as greatly influenced by Caesar, which would create a
place for democracy, where both classes of wealthy or poor, every citizen's voices and opinions
would be heard in our country. However the elites still resort to "gentlemen's history" by arguing
that whether the ignorant that believe that politics and history are only about power, the elitist still
believed that living this way was the only way for them.

Police Brutality
Police brutality towards African Americans in the United States has become an issue. However, the
continue of police brutality remains difficult. In historical events of society harming African
American of police brings back in time into slavery. Now in today's world, we have technology that
shows police killing and hurting African Americans and are recorded for showing social media.
People record for public investigation and depletion. The ability to these videos has led
extraordinary public discussion on what establish brutality. It is current to our lives because it all
started an activist movement called, Black Lives Matter. It began as a social movement in 2013 to
use a hashtag #BlackLivesMatter on social media after the scene of George Zimmerman shooting a
African American teen Trayvon Martin. In addition, Martin was walking back alone to his fiance
house after buying some items at a store. The neighborhood had problems of robberies that year.
Zimmerman was a community watch, he saw Martin and was suspicious, later Zimmerman shot
Martin on the chest. As well in 2017, a protest turned into a violent scene in Virginia. As white

Theme Of To My People
Assata Shakur's To My People was written on July 4 , 1973 on her blog as a message to her
community of supporters. . Assata Shakur referred to her real name, Joanne Deborah Bryon, as her
slave name and sought out liberation from her ancestor's past of slavery.. She joined the Black
Panther Party and Black Liberation Army to bring power to her oppressed brothers and sisters, but
was later targeted by the FBI and U.S Government. On May 2 ,1973 Shakur and her BLA partners
were ambushed by state police on the New Jersey turnpike. She was accused of killing a state
trooper, but her previous injury in her arm made it impossible to do so. In To My People, Assata
Shakur utilizes logos, repetition of words, and diction of anger to express her discontentment on the
treatment of her fellow black people as well as to motivate them to fight for their freedom.
To begin, Shakur exposes the heinous acts that were committed by America through appealing to
logos. She discloses, "They call us thieves and bandits. They say we steal. But it was not we who
stole millions of Black people from the continent of Africa." The use of parallelism strengthens her
argument of black people being forced into slavery. No one can deny the fact that black people were
dragged to onto boats and dropped off in America. White people kidnapped them from their home
continent and erased their traditions and cultures. Shakur later adds, "They call us murderers, but we
did not murder Martin Luther King, Jr., Emmett

Effects Of Supremacism In The Trouble With Diversity
Americans see "race" as a defined, indubitable feature of nature. Racism– the act of ascribing bone
deep features to people to then humiliate, reduce, and destroy them– inevitably follows from this
unalterable condition. White supremacist ideals, for instance, espouse unfounded ideas that revere
the white man and scorn those of color, while also serving as a nonsensical justification for practices
such as slavery, racial segregation, and Jim Crow. Even though race is a social construct without a
biological basis, Walter Benn Michaels cannot dismiss the concept of race. Race has had irreversible
effects on minority groups, and disregarding race would be the equivalent of disregarding the plight
and shared experiences of these people. The notion of race is more convoluted than Walter Benn
Michaels depicts it to be in "The Trouble With Diversity".
According to Michaels, "if a black man is a man who has to ride Jim Crow, now that no one has to
ride Jim Crow, there is no such thing as a black man. Or a white man either"(48). Michaels counters
W.E.B. Dubois' definition of a "black man" and goes to the far extent of saying that there is no such
thing as a black man or a white man. It's worth mentioning that Michaels is a white man, and has
thus not had the same experiences and circumstances as those of a black man. Dismissing the
concept of race is an act of ignorance because it is deeply ingrained in American culture. Even
though racism and segregation is not explicitly enforced

Russi An Extraordinary Outburst Of Social And Cultural Change
Russia has been around for a long time and has evolved over the years. Their ability to adapt to their
environment as a country and, essentially, become a powerhouse in the world, is a great feat in
itself. Over time Russia developed their social climate, economic system, military power and
efficiency, as well as infrastructure. Today, I will be discussing how their military, political views,
economics, social views, infrastructure and physical environment all relate together and has
enhanced Russia's ability to stay a powerhouse. Russia has been around since 800 b.c. and has seen
the rise and fall of many bad leaders as well as the rise and fall of many different good political
leaders ("A brief history of Russia", 2005). Since the Soviet era, Russia has had an extraordinary
outburst of social and cultural change ("A brief history of Russia", 2005). Russia developed radical
styles of constructivism, futurism, and supremacism during this time. In 1924, there was a struggle
for power in the Communism party after Lenin's death ("A brief history of Russia", 2005). During
the latter half of the decade, a victor emerged and that was Stalin. He immediately dictated the way
agricultural lands were collectivized, creating large, state–run farms. Industrial development was
pushed along at breakneck speed, and production was almost entirely diverted from consumer
products to capital equipment. Stalin repressed religion, closing churches, destroying them and

Women And Children By Rosenberg Presents Us Imperialism...
Many know of the horrendous events that took place on September 11th 2011, but what some don't
know are the immediate responses from the US after the occurrence of that event. In the essay
"Rescuing women and children" Rosenberg presents US imperialism and the roles it plays in gender
particularly in Afghanistan. I will be discussing how this imperialism affects gender in other
countries and the differnces between "rescuing women and children" and cross–culture solidarity.
Rosenberg starts her essay by explained the response from the First Lady nine weeks after the attack
on the world trade center. The problem shifts from the distress faced at home to overseas distress
instead. The response seemed at the surface to be a cry to help the women and children oppressed in
Afghanistan. Rosenberg uses the quote "The brutal oppression of women is a central goal of the
terrorists" from the first lady's address to the nation to rally together the citizens. On the same day as
the address CNN also aired a documentary titled "Beneath the Veil". Such documentaries became
the way the US viewed foreign countries. They are viewed as weakly and therefore feminine and in
need of rescuing. The First lady and the president gathered supporters and were able to sign the
Afghan Women and Children Relief Act.
The problem I will be focusing on is that of the masculine attributions given to the US and the
feminine attributions given to the "weaker" "less developed" countries. On one hand the US

White Is For Witching By Helen Oyeyemi
White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi makes use of the gothic trope of the uncanny to explore
the horror of England as a colonial site of terrifying unhomeliness. While Oyeyemi summarizes the
tale as the story of a "starving girl and a xenophobic house", the text embodies much more than
these issues. Instilling the unheimlich into her narrative, Oyeyemi explores the haunting of
contemporary English nationalism by colonial ideology through a haunted house animated by
xenophobia. The home, and the xenophobia that comes hand in hand with it, becomes the gothic
villain that violently seeks nationalistic and racial homogeneity. Oyeyemi's haunted house magnifies
the enduring legacy of British colonialism, the continuing colonial fears of contamination, and
whiteness as the essence of Englishness within colonial ideology. Strongly politicized, the
unheimlich house on the cliffs of Dover locates and exposes both the horrors of colonialism and the
failures of English national allegory. The text recounts the events leading up to the the
disappearance of Miranda, a young British girl who is struggling to deal with her mother's sudden
killing in Haiti, where she was on a work trip. The narration by the house, her twin brother Eliot,
and Ore, a Nigerian girl she meets while at Cambridge leads us to find about Miranda's pica, a
desire to eat non–nutritive substances which lapses into more nefarious, vampiric desires. This is a
condition that has plagued her family, particularly the

Donald Trump Political Address Social Address
Throughout Donald Trump's presidential campaign, he has made sexist, racist, xenophobic, and
hateful statements. Trump's statements have resonated with many right–winged supporters and they
have decided to act upon this rhetoric that expresses hatred and violence towards this group that they
refer to as the "others." Now that Trump is president, these alt–right groups, white nationalists, are
using demonstrations, riots, and terrorism to promote hate and discriminatory ideals. These white
nationalists, who once hide in plain sight, are now able to express themselves freely and gather in
public settings. Oftentimes, these public gatherings end in violence and in the case of
Charlottesville, even death. In this essay, I argue how the "Unite the Right" rally held in
Charlottesville, succeeded in their social performance to draw attention to their identity and
communicate to America, specifically those who they view as being politically correct, that they are
being assertive and making sure that they are being heard. These white nationalists are showing
America that they will do whatever to preserve American history and use the first amendment to say
whatever they want to say so that they can invoke a response.
This past summer, white supremacists and other right–wing groups held a "Unite the Right" rally in
Charlottesville to express their concerns regarding the taking down of symbols that relate to
America's Confederate past. The removal of monuments caused major controversy with white
supremacists and citizens who were in favor of the removal of monuments (Merica, 2017). This
resulted to white nationalists mobilizing in downtown Charlottesville to make it clear that they are
exercising their freedom of speech and assembly to go against social norms. Through this event,
white nationalists could incite the political tension among the two political parties on the decision to
remove Confederate monuments. It can be deduced that both parties are exercising their first
amendment rights and that the disagreement comes from the way these white nationalists are
expressing themselves and the ideals that they believe in. After this story broke out, there were more
demonstrations from both actors, white nationalists and

The Empire Of Illusion : The Art Of Deception?
The art of deception is an essential skill, especially in moments such as political debates and
commercial promotions. In today's society, artifice is a widely utilized skill to persuade the public.
The commercial market connects producers to consumers through propaganda which appeals to
consumers through elements such as pathos, ethos, and logos. Utilizing these elements, the audience
is immediately drawn into the viewpoint of the deceiver. Politicians tried to appear as ordinary and
modest as possible to seem more appealing to their audience. But, it can be a deception. As Chris
Hedges said in his Empire of Illusion, a story is the best form of artifice because the "consistency
and emotional appeal of the story are paramount." Often politicians tell stories to create a persona
making themselves look more trustworthy. There are many articles about the National Anthem
Protest published last year that used artifice. In one particular center–view article, the author Sally
Jenkins gives us the story of a soldier who stood in front of a truck consisting of explosives. This
story appeals to the reader's pathos as it generates respect for this soldier. It brought them to the
question of whether it's patriotic to protest during the anthem which symbolizes the many people
who fought for the country. The other articles had left–wing views which the authors touched upon
Trump's responses to the athletes protesting against racial injustice. In an article by Wesley Morris,

Racial Discrimification And Racism In America
Over the years there have been many efforts in America to attempt to resolve racial equality.
Although these efforts are good ideas, they do not always work and have proven at times to make
things worse. In the U.S., Confederate flags are still used in racist ways towards blacks, there is
evidence of racist police brutality, and there are still believers of "white supremacy." Recently, there
have been rallies where individuals voice hateful, racist opinions. Racism is not over in America.
The Confederate Flag, a treasure to many whites in the South is from a battle that they will never
forget. To others it is seen as a form of racism due to the KKK, or Ku Klux Klan, which adapted the
flag as their own. Long ago, the Confederate flag was known as a battle flag used by many Southern
Armies in the American Civil War. Later, in the 20th century the KKK adopted the flag, continuing
their white supremacist campaign. Many consider the flag to be racist because it became a potent
symbol of slavery and white supremacism over the years. "To many white Southerners, the flag is an
emblem of regional heritage and pride. But to others, it has a starkly different meaning –
representing racism, slavery, and the country's long history of oppression of African Americans"
(Smith, 6/24/15). People who support the flag for the soul reason that it represents their state
positively from the Civil War era should not show the flags publicly because it is considered racist
and disrespectful to black

Dominant Attitudes In The Film A Time To Kill
Conflict between characters or people is a key element in revealing dominant attitudes displayed by
individuals or society as a whole in visual drama texts. Conflicts in the feature film "A Time to Kill"
directed by Joel Schumacher, reveal dominant attitudes displayed by the white population in rural
Mississippi in the 1980s. The 1980s a time when racial equality was on the brink of change, creating
massive tension between the 2 races. The dominant attitude revealed by conflict is supremacism, the
catalyst for the revelation of this is the shooting of 2 white supremacists by an African American
male named Carl Lee Hailey. This is where it all begins to become visible and the white population
display their supremacist attitude through their actions and speech in various scenes throughout the
film. The murder trial was held in the town of Mississippi, a town containing and supposedly
integrated with both blacks and whites. However, within the selected group of jurors there was no
African–American amongst them. The exclusion of African–Americans from the jury when it was
possible to have them included reveals the dominant supremacist attitude. The white population

Racism : Racism And Racial Discrimination
Racism consists of ideologies and practices that seek to justify, or cause, the unequal distribution of
privileges, rights or goods among different racial groups. Modern variants are often based in social
perceptions of biological differences between peoples. These can take the form of social actions,
practices or beliefs, or political systems that consider different races to be ranked as inherently
superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities.
It may also hold that members of different races should be treated differently.
Among the questions about how to define racism are the question of whether to include forms of
discrimination that are unintentional, such as making assumptions about preferences or abilities of
others based on racial stereotypes, whether to include symbolic or institutionalized forms of
discrimination such as the circulation of ethnic stereotypes through the media, and whether to
include the sociopolitical dynamics of social stratification that sometimes have a racial component.
In sociology and psychology, some definitions include only consciously malignant forms of
discrimination. Some definitions of racism also include discriminatory behaviors and beliefs based
on cultural, national, ethnic, caste, or religious stereotypes.
While race and ethnicity are considered to be separate phenomena in contemporary social science,
the two terms have a long history of equivalence in popular usage and older

When the Civil War came to a close one hundred fifty years ago, the Union forces ended up
victorious. The future seemed bright for the newly emancipated Blacks of the South; no longer
bound in servitude, freed slaves must have felt indescribable joy. Sadly, what seemed like a dream
come true quickly became a hellish nightmare. White Southerners were beside themselves with rage
against Americans they considered property who were now their equals, at least in the eyes of the
law. This fury fueled brutal and malicious racial violence in both the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries. Lynching, intimidation, destruction of property, and other acts of terrorism were quite
prevalent throughout Texas. Yet, despite the multitude of physical and political ... Show more

various parts of Texas, designed to inhibit all forms of social, and political progress. Although there
were efforts to inhibit Blacks from voting began in 1865, around the start of reconstruction, it was
not until the 1890s that white legislators were able to transform disenfranchisement practices into a
set concrete laws. Not wanting to adversely affect whites, the Texas state legislature viewed the
direct primary system as the most effective way to revoke the ballot from as many Black Texans as
possible, therefore from 1895–1923, every legislative session that convened in Texas allocated a
great deal of time to refining this system . Constantly creating stipulations, such as; requiring voters
to pay a poll tax, only allowing members of the Democratic Party to participate in primaries, and
creating racial qualifications for membership. The result of these sessions was the white primary
system that successfully barred Black Texans from voting, for several decades to come. However,
these laws would not persist

Racism And Supremacism In The Death Certificate By Ice Cube

  • 1. Racism And Supremacism In The Death Certificate By Ice Cube It's haunting, it's jarring, it's loud, it's in your face, Ice Cube's second album Death Certificate is a lot of things the one thing it's not though is nice. The album opens up with the song "Wrong N**ga to F**K with", an intense song that goes straight for the jugular. Ice Cube's lyrical assault on everything wrong with authority, the Justice System, racism and more begins there, where he talks about beating LAPD police chief Daryl Gates, running with his posse Lench Mob; in "Wrong N**ga to F**K with" he basically says that he's coming for everyone no holds barred. Death Certificate challenges the white supremacist the status quo because it's a work of art that brought the problems that many people of color in America faced back into public attention, problems that white people had just swept under the rug. He questioned the fairness of authority, brought up the issue of racial profiling and called out anyone and everyone he could. With Death Certificate Ice Cube examined racism, created a national conversation on poverty, censorship, free speech, and violence which reenergized the quest in a new, younger generation for equality. The main issue at the heart of Death Certificate is racism. In Death Certificate, Ice Cube talks specifically about White–Black racism and Asian–Black racism. Let's start with the Asian–Black racism that's discussed on the record. On March 29th, 1991, 15–year–old Latasha Harlins was shot by a Korean store owner while trying to purchase a bottle ... • 3. Racism In Racism Racism is not new in the West. For that matter, more or less, in other parts of the world as well. But let me focus on the West, where racism has returned with a vengeance once again. As in the past, this racism will end in tear and bloodshed as well. There was a time when Westerners treated non–Whites as sub–human. They liquidated the locals in Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada, and so many other countries and appropriated from themselves everything the locals had. So the Red Indians, Aborigines, Maories, Eskimos, etc. have been reduced to tiny populations and forced to live in reservations and at the edges of society. It ended in tears and blood. The Whites enslaved Asians, Africans, and Latin Americans and treated them like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Remember his comments on the Charlottesville mayhem where a White supremacist drove a car into the peaceful protest against the far–right rally or his comment about an American judge of Mexican ancestry? Brexit, the British decision to leave the European Union, is partly a product of British racism. After the referendum, the British abused and killed several minority people in hate crimes. While the UKIP leader Nigel Farage was openly racist, many Tory leaders also demonstrated that they have always been closet racists. Elsewhere in the West also racism has raised its head once again. For instance, in France, the National Front President Marie Le Pen gave a stiff competition to the mainstream candidate in the 2017 Presidential elections. The nationalist leader Sebastian Kurz and his party won the parliamentary elections in Austria this month. The far–right leaders of Germany, Alexander Gauland and Frauke Petry, have been making great strides in Germany though they are not yet close to the seat of power. How will this phase of racism end? In tears and blood again. In minorities will fight back if push comes to shove in the West. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Summary Of Dostoevsky's 'Crime And Punishment' Yellow has a duality about it, in one hand it represents hope, happiness, and health where as in the other it firmly grasps sickness, jealousy, and fear. In Dostoevsky's work "Crime and Punishment" he uses yellow as an indicator for the sinfulness and filth that permeates and surrounds the characters. To compound the sinful filthy nature of the characters yellow also adopts the form of sickness, manifesting in both mental and physical states: a sentiment that is mirrored in Perkins Stetsons' work "The Yellow Wallpaper" Dostoevsky's depiction of sin and sickness is prevalent throughout his work, often physically looming over characters and smothering them in it's malevolent tendrils. Dostoevsky's first indication of this sickness clawing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She sees her image as it "crawls around fast", this apparition represents her lust for freedom as she begins to "see her out every one of my windows! It is always the same woman, I know, for she is always creeping and most women do not creep by daylight." Inevitably the narrators confinement in the yellow walled room snaps her psyche, taking on the full role of the woman in the wallpaper. The narrator wins her freedom, escaping her societal confinements, represented as her having "pulled off most of the paper, so now you can't put me back!" To Raskolnikov yellow manifests his physical frailty upon killing Alyona and his acute paranoia. While yellow at a glance seems to represent Raskolnikov, he never outwardly states anything yellow about himself. Yellow permeates the environment Raskolnikov and the other denizens occupy, even managing to sink its teeth into the broken and dejected. Raskolnikov will look at a man, yellow face, "bloated from continual drinking" and determine that he is in fact better than him. Raskolnikov observes "the little yellow room that was like a cupboard or a box" and his mind "craved for space." Raskolnikov will regard a " yellowish glass filled with yellow water" as below him. This is a man who determines that he is one of those "superior humans" who have the ability bypass the moral laws of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Argumentative Essay On Winston Churchill He is thought to be one of the most controversial personalities of world's history. Often referred to as "the British Bulldog", he has been voted as "the greatest Briton of all times". Some people concern him as "defender of democracy" and an incredible orator, while others criticize him strongly for his actions during his being in power. We obviously refer to Winston Churchill, a man who left a complicated legacy behind him and whose personality and choices influenced – and still do– not only British politics, but the whole world's ones. To begin with, Churchill was politically active from an early age. Twice named Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, he is best known for his participation and his crucial role during World War II. With his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By many he is concerned as an imperialist, a belligerent leader. He planned to conquest more countries and expend the British Empire, because he insisted that the "Aryan stock is bound to triumph". Therefore, it is very likely that his participation in the war was the part of a wider plan and a deeper motive. He did not just aim to defend his country from a rival. He fought for "a raw white supremacism", as expressed by Richard Toye in his book "Churchill's Empire" (2010). It is true that the British leader believed in the superiority of the white race, which explains why his policies reflect racism as well as fascism. A pretty good example that justifies this opinion is his attitude towards the starving Indians in 1943. The famine in Bengal broke out because of his decision to divert food supplies from India to the front lines in Europe during the war and, as a result, millions of Indians starved to death. Nevertheless, Churchill was indifferent and insisted that it was their own fault for "breeding like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Attack On Pearl Harbor On Sunday, December 7, 1941, the U.S. stepped foot into the territory of the most destructive war throughout the entire course of history. On this particular day, Japan sent 361 planes launched from six aircraft carriers and bombed Pearl Harbor, a naval base located in Hawaii. The attack on Pearl Harbor was the first stage that led us into the war. Many believe that this day was considered to be among the most darkest days of American history, but was the real reason behind the attack? The reason Japan attacked Pearl Harbor is because of the embargoes we imposed on Japan, racial superiority, and the fear of the U.S.'s actions. Firstly, the main reason why Japan attacked Pearl Harbor is due to the embargo the U.S. laid on Japan. In 1937, Japan attacked China and further invaded into their territory. To prevent from further destruction of their ally, the U.S. stopped all trade with Japan. In 1939, the "U.S. began an embargo of aircraft and aircraft parts against Japan." (Document C) Later on, the United States would result in freezing all Japanese assets and bank accounts.(Document C) With no money, this sent Japan's economy tumbling down. The final straw was when the U.S. decided to "impose an embargo on oil shipments to Japan." (Document C) In the late 1930's, 80% of Japan's oil came from the United States ranging from as high as 380 tons. Since then, this rate had dropped. • 11. The Holocaust : Thank God For The Holocaust Thank God for the Russians. On the numbing morning of January 19th, 1945, 66,000 people were finally able to walk free after enduring something so horrific and inhumane that there are still people to this day that are too dimwitted to acknowledge it. The troops walked past mountains and trenches of bones that were loosely attached to skin, things that you knew were bodies but could not be identified as that were riddled with disease and now, death. Bodies of innocent men, women, children, Jews, Nine days later, Auschwitz was officially liberated having served as the prison, judge, and extermination of an estimated 2,000,000 innocent people. Monsters aren't supposed to be real, but the closest you could get to finding one would be to find someone who thinks that, that is okay. And they're not even trying to hide it. The problem is not that there are people walking around calling themselves Nazis and waving their flags and using their freedom of speech the problem is that there are people walking around calling themselves Nazis and waving flags that don't seem to grasp how repulsive and blatantly wrong this entire situation is and the people that can do something about it, aren't. As Yehuda Bauer, an Israeli historian and scholar of the Holocaust said, "Thou shalt not be a victim, thou shalt not be a perpetrator, but, above all, thou shalt not be a bystander." • 13. Essay On White Supremacism White supremacy is the belief that white people are better than any other race. Although many view these beliefs to be morally incorrect, white supremacists are protected under the 1st Amendment, as long as they are not striving for violence. Many white supremacist groups classify themselves as religious organizations and are simply following and spreading the beliefs and words of their god. The 1st Amendment states that "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". This means that the government cannot force anyone to practice a religion or prevent them from doing so, meaning that white supremacists are protected by the 1st Amendment. White supremacists are also granted freedom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because congress cannot make laws "abridging the freedom of speech" (1st Amendment), white supremacists that simply express their beliefs are legal and protected under the 1st Amendment. Although the Amendment states that the people's assembly must be peaceful, many of the rallies have turned to violence. However, white supremacists have stated that their rallies were intended to be peaceful and their opposers were the ones who resorted to violence first, meaning that the white supremacist groups cannot be blamed for violence and casualties in these instances. In addition to being lawful according to the Constitution, white supremacy has not been directly condemned by the president, meaning that it's acceptable to practice. Because Trump has not made public comments shaming white supremacists, many believe that he does not "represent a condemnation of this movement". • 17. Why Is It Important To Have A Safe Space In reference to safe spaces, John Cleese once said: "The idea that you have to be protected from any kind of uncomfortable emotion is what I absolutely do not subscribe to." Likewise, I can agree that individuals should be subjected to some unpleasant emotions in order to become stronger, and more resilient towards the harsh world around us today. Then again, what if this emotion you feel becomes crippling, and causes you to live a dejected life? Well, that's where a definitive line should be drawn. For starters, a safe space is usually identified as an environment in which some can go where they can be free of any type of physical or emotional distress. Safe spaces are most commonly known today to protect LGBT individuals from discrimination. However, it can also be used to shelter some from racism, prejudice, post–traumatic stress triggers, bullying, and so on. There are substantial benefits to safe spaces; not only are they places where individuals can find security, but they can also be locations in which people discover comfort within themselves. For example, a person who has been bullied due to their sexuality, and now consequently feels uncomfortable being themselves starts going to a safe space at their school. Overtime, they are able to meet people going through the same thing. Now, the individual can get advice on how to deal with their situation. Thus, due to going to an environment where they are accepted they now can feel more secure within themselves. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. The Importance Of Free Speech Free speech is as synonymous with America as the bald eagle, Old Glory or a slugfest on the gridiron. However, this seemingly inborn right most Americans take for granted has fallen under attack in recent years. The attack on free speech has come directly from the left, and is focused squarely on free speech as it relates to conservative voices. The limitation on such speech seems to only apply when the ideas expressed differ from those on the left. At least this appears to be the case when it comes to the free speech standards at ESPN according to the most recent occurrence at the network. What Happened at ESPN? ESPN anchor and face of SC6 (a new version of SportsCenter with an urban overview) Jamele Hill was only mildly scolded if that after calling the seated President a "white supremacist" via a recent tweet. The tweet is listed below in its entirety: "Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself with other white supremacists." For a bit of background, it's worth noting that Hill is a fairly outspoken liberal who proudly displays photographs with Michelle and Barack Obama pinned atop her twitter page. It is not surprising based upon Hill's personal point–of–view that Hill might feel less than generous towards the new president. However, her role as a public figure does demand some extra discretion, especially when it comes to basically calling the President of the United States of America a white supremacist. After all, this wasn't a tweet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Supremacy Of Hate Groups Essay Supremacy : the state of condition of being superior to all others in authority, power, or status. Why is this so important? I'll tell you why, the supremacy of many " Hate Groups " such as the KKK ( Ku Klux Klan ) or any other hate group has been affecting many lives of U.S. citizens such as the African Americans. Based off the murder case of James Byrd Jr., he was tricked, beaten, and horrifically chained and dragged by a truck filled with three white supremacists. Given the circumstances in the nation today and our recent Charlottesville protest, America hasn't changed much. It has been quiet since Mr. Byrd's death in 1998 and not only til 19 years later do we have hate groups such as the Nazi coming out marching in Charlottesville. Hate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hidden stereotypes that's labeled to every race should all be voided. We may be all different on the outside, but on the inside we still bleed red. We still have functional organs and we are all the same human beings therefore every hate group in America should be depleted. All extremism, hate, racism, and supremacism shouldn't even exist in people's minds. We should ban every existing hate group in America and condone it as illegal hopefully, but that would be impossible if we have one of their leaders as our president. Once every citizen of the United States works together and forms one nation instead of hating within and causing a civil war, we can maintain to protect and defeat all enemies that would be of a threat to America. The separations of many citizens and murders of hate groups in America are the reason they shouldn't be tolerated at all. Hate is such a strong word and has a deep meaning to it, but it shouldn't even come to the thought of any citizen in the U.S. Even if we are allowed to speak of our mind, some may find it terribly offending and traumatic to be judged. There shouldn't be any difference in any citizen even if alienated from another country, they will always maintain to be the same despite their ethics, morals, or even their own ... Puritans 'Followers' Attitudes Towards Women Followers under the influence of the Puritan belief system become irrational, and develop xenophobia towards others who do not live under the same ethics as them; this is due to the limitations that they face under their religion, which include their minimalistic mindset, the supremacism taught in their daily lives towards women, and the excessive layer of exclusiveness in their society. One of the major disadvantages of communities that value the views of the Puritans follow is that the Puritans still believe that men are superior to women. With much to offer to newcomers, including the promises of safety, security and healthcare, the vast selection of jobs and education, and an overall high quality of living, many immigrants have chosen and will continue to choose Canada as their new home country. Canadian officials take pride in accepting and embracing multiculturalism – as Canada is often referred to as a country of cultural mosaic in contrast to the idea of the American 'melting pot'. Although the policies have since been abandoned, exploitation has not gone far. Judy Fudge (2011) gives an example of how the program takes away rights from workers in the fact that live–in caregivers are hired on contracts to one specific employer; this restricts them to working for one family, and if any problems arise it could take months before a solution is found and another contract is created. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms gives Canadian citizens the mobility rights to move and hold work wherever they please, but because migrant workers are not yet citizens, this does not apply. Prejudices can also be seen in the difference between the treatment of white domestic workers and those of colour. Sedef Arat Koc (1999) explains how white domestic workers are referred to as "nannies" and only expected to carry out caregiving jobs while receiving a normal pay wage and proper recognition for their work. In contrast, domestic workers of colour are expected to do house work in addition to their regular duties, are given much less recognition for their work, and are subject to racist and sexist discrimination in their place of work (Arat–Koc, 1999). Foreign domestic workers also face exploitation in terms of pay. Most caregivers are payed below minimum wage and are not paid overtime or for extra work done around the house, much of which can ... He's a new arrival to West Egg and neighbors a tremendous mansion owned by the famous Gatsby. Following his advent, Nick is swift to attend a dinner at the mansion of Tom Buchanan, an old college mate and husband to his cousin Daisy. In 1948 in South African elections put white supremacy in place which allowed them to segregate blacks from whites in South Africa. Over the course of the rule of supremacists, the South African blacks were treated worse and worse. Eventually, the people resorted to using protests, peace marches, hunger strikes, boycotting, and other tactics to show their civil unrest to the white supremacist government. The people of South Africa would have been supporting the evil of white supremacy and racism by not protesting its rule with civil disobedience. They were also backed by Britain and the U.N. to show that they would not back down from equal rights so easily. While there were many short–term changes such as the surge of aggression, the legal prosecution of those involved, and even the UN's involvement. This quote an be interpreted to mean that in books, the reader more often sees negative views of the characters than they do positive aspects; one learns more about the darker sides of humanity in books that they do about the goodness in people. In The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the protagonist, Nick Carraway, is a man living in New York during the 1920s. While there are good, innocent people in the book, the novel is dominated by those who act against the moral standard set by F. Scott Fitzgerald and society.. These two traits aren't necessarily "bad" or evil behavior in themselves but they indicate the personailty of Tom; he appears to have different morals than society. His lack of morals is further shown when it is revealed he has a mistress in the city, and even breaks her nose when she mentions his wife. This is evidence of adultery and Tom's violent side. Adultery was not looked upon favorably during this time, yet it is pervasive in the novel; even Daisy, the stereotypical "innocent" girl, commits adultery and Nick doesn't act like it's a big deal. This is a commentaryon the moral decadence of society in the 1920s, where adultery is supposed to be "sinful" yet appears to be condoned by the bystanders. Hate And Supremacism When Hate and Supremacism Take Over As the world continues to change rapidly and advance forward, there remain groups of people who are and will continue to be unable to partake in the fruitful future, suffering time and time again from the cruelness of the modern world. As expected, these people have developed ways to deal with this onslaught of oppression, much to the expense of the rest of the world. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Italy became divided, barely remaining a nation at all, and watched as others, such as Britain and France, grew stronger and stronger by greedily imperializing other areas. The terrorizing display of power by these other nations did not encourage Italy to try and do the same, but virtually forced them to if they wanted to sustain their status as a global power. Thus, Italy united itself completely in 1870, proceeding to build up an army to try and make a grab for land in Africa to establish itself as an imperial power. Unfortunately, when Italy invaded Ethiopia, they were brutally defeated, and the nation truly became a shell of what it used to be. When World War I broke out in the early 20th century, Italy decided to participate in it, which drained the country's remaining funds and depleted resources. When Italian leaders attended the peace treaty negotiation after the war, they were unable to accomplish the main goal of regaining their land, angering the people and setting the stage for an ambitious young man named Benito Mussolini to rise to power and establish the National Fascist Party, a dictatorship that promoted an intense Italian nationalism. Through a detailed examination of the history of Italy, Mishra reveals how "globalization, while promoting integration among shrewd elites, incites political and cultural sectarianism everywhere else, especially among people forced against their will into universal competition" (Mishra 334). • 35. Persuasive Essay On Accepting The Truth Considering the world is in constant conflict within individual countries and across the globe, accepting the truth is necessary towards the search for solutions. Conflicts exist over economics, politics, and social issues and their outcomes, which compromise global stability. To believe and act on the truth, society cannot afford to gloss over it. Therefore, it is essential to our survival that the truth is uncovered and faced with courage, tolerance and perseverance. The truth cannot be glossed over, as that would diminish the importance and immediate attention it deserves. If it gets overlooked, then those involved with the situation would think it is not a big deal and continue to behave wrongly, as they are not condemned for their actions. By explaining the truth as it is, we will be able to see the world in a different light and can move towards fixing it. One specific example is the racially motivated riot that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia during the weekend of August 11–12. There, a group of white supremacists held a rally in hopes t convince the city to prevent the removal of a statue of Robert Edward Lee, an American general who was racist, as well as abusive towards African Americans. From Ancient Egypt to today, 2016, white supremacists have prowled the earth. The height of popularity for this social phenomenon was during the European colonial expansion, which was in the eighteen hundreds when many countries started to adopt the idea. Columbus enslaved and mutilated native people, anti semitic Hitler believed that the aryan race was superior to all other races and that Jews needed to be deported or killed. The reason that racism is still around today, especially in America, is because of how it began. It has been passed down through generations and when whites don't feel like they have everything they want, the other races get blamed. Now in 2017, with Donald Trump as president of the United States, the clash between races continues. Trump's remarks about immigrants, women and his determination to build a wall between the United States and Mexico are similar to Hitler's views on immigrants. Hitler could be considered one of the definitions of racism and having a 2017 president with similar views to a murderer scares not only many citizens of the U.S. but also makes other countries fearful for the U.S.'s people. On Saturday, August 12, a "unite the right" rally was planned to protest the removal of of a statue of Confederate leader, General Robert E Lee. • 41. Racism : America And The Deep South Racism in America and the Deep South The deep south: Georgia; Louisiana; Alabama; Mississippi and South Carolina is a place foreign to many in the Western World. Although, being within the same country, it is clear that the 'land of cowboys' couldn't be more different than the beaches of California and the skyscrapers of New York. However, it is easily one of the places in which property and land can be bought cheapest. This can be traced back hundreds of years to when the slave market was first established. When cotton was first found to be extremely useful in the 1800s it was discovered that the deep south had perfect conditions to grow the crop. Many plantations were created and by 1850 four million African and African–American slaves were living down south, with most of them working on the plantations for up to 16 hours a day. Owners taught their slaves Christianity in order to learn about slaves being loyal to their masters as in many accounts in the bible. Those owners of plantations with excess of 100 slaves were some of the richest people in the US with many sending their children to schools in the North or even abroad. Despite the budding economic growth, the industry collapsed in the 1860s, with the appointment of Abraham Lincoln as president. As the first Republican president appointed Lincoln's presidential campaign included the promise of abolishing slavery in the USA, although this was not a popular view with those living in the deep south at the time, ... Assata Shakur referred to her real name, Joanne Deborah Bryon, as her slave name and sought out liberation from her ancestor's past of slavery.. She joined the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army to bring power to her oppressed brothers and sisters, but was later targeted by the FBI and U.S Government. On May 2 ,1973 Shakur and her BLA partners were ambushed by state police on the New Jersey turnpike. She was accused of killing a state trooper, but her previous injury in her arm made it impossible to do so. In To My People, Assata Shakur utilizes logos, repetition of words, and diction of anger to express her discontentment on the treatment of her fellow black people as well as to motivate them to fight for their freedom. To begin, Shakur exposes the heinous acts that were committed by America through appealing to logos. She discloses, "They call us thieves and bandits. They say we steal. But it was not we who stole millions of Black people from the continent of Africa." The use of parallelism strengthens her argument of black people being forced into slavery. No one can deny the fact that black people were dragged to onto boats and dropped off in America. White people kidnapped them from their home continent and erased their traditions and cultures. • 51. Effects Of Supremacism In The Trouble With Diversity Americans see "race" as a defined, indubitable feature of nature. Racism– the act of ascribing bone deep features to people to then humiliate, reduce, and destroy them– inevitably follows from this unalterable condition. White supremacist ideals, for instance, espouse unfounded ideas that revere the white man and scorn those of color, while also serving as a nonsensical justification for practices such as slavery, racial segregation, and Jim Crow. Even though race is a social construct without a biological basis, Walter Benn Michaels cannot dismiss the concept of race. Race has had irreversible effects on minority groups, and disregarding race would be the equivalent of disregarding the plight and shared experiences of these people. The notion of race is more convoluted than Walter Benn Michaels depicts it to be in "The Trouble With Diversity". According to Michaels, "if a black man is a man who has to ride Jim Crow, now that no one has to ride Jim Crow, there is no such thing as a black man. Or a white man either"(48). Michaels counters W.E.B. Dubois' definition of a "black man" and goes to the far extent of saying that there is no such thing as a black man or a white man. It's worth mentioning that Michaels is a white man, and has thus not had the same experiences and circumstances as those of a black man. Dismissing the concept of race is an act of ignorance because it is deeply ingrained in American culture. Even though racism and segregation is not explicitly enforced ... Many know of the horrendous events that took place on September 11th 2011, but what some don't know are the immediate responses from the US after the occurrence of that event. In the essay "Rescuing women and children" Rosenberg presents US imperialism and the roles it plays in gender particularly in Afghanistan. I will be discussing how this imperialism affects gender in other countries and the differnces between "rescuing women and children" and cross–culture solidarity. Rosenberg starts her essay by explained the response from the First Lady nine weeks after the attack on the world trade center. The problem shifts from the distress faced at home to overseas distress instead. The response seemed at the surface to be a cry to help the women and children oppressed in Afghanistan. Rosenberg uses the quote "The brutal oppression of women is a central goal of the terrorists" from the first lady's address to the nation to rally together the citizens. On the same day as the address CNN also aired a documentary titled "Beneath the Veil". Such documentaries became the way the US viewed foreign countries. They are viewed as weakly and therefore feminine and in need of rescuing. The First lady and the president gathered supporters and were able to sign the Afghan Women and Children Relief Act. The problem I will be focusing on is that of the masculine attributions given to the US and the feminine attributions given to the "weaker" "less developed" countries. On one hand the US ... White Is For Witching By Helen Oyeyemi White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi makes use of the gothic trope of the uncanny to explore the horror of England as a colonial site of terrifying unhomeliness. While Oyeyemi summarizes the tale as the story of a "starving girl and a xenophobic house", the text embodies much more than these issues. Instilling the unheimlich into her narrative, Oyeyemi explores the haunting of contemporary English nationalism by colonial ideology through a haunted house animated by xenophobia. The home, and the xenophobia that comes hand in hand with it, becomes the gothic villain that violently seeks nationalistic and racial homogeneity. Oyeyemi's haunted house magnifies the enduring legacy of British colonialism, the continuing colonial fears of contamination, and whiteness as the essence of Englishness within colonial ideology. Strongly politicized, the unheimlich house on the cliffs of Dover locates and exposes both the horrors of colonialism and the failures of English national allegory. The text recounts the events leading up to the the disappearance of Miranda, a young British girl who is struggling to deal with her mother's sudden killing in Haiti, where she was on a work trip. The narration by the house, her twin brother Eliot, and Ore, a Nigerian girl she meets while at Cambridge leads us to find about Miranda's pica, a desire to eat non–nutritive substances which lapses into more nefarious, vampiric desires. Trump's statements have resonated with many right–winged supporters and they have decided to act upon this rhetoric that expresses hatred and violence towards this group that they refer to as the "others." Now that Trump is president, these alt–right groups, white nationalists, are using demonstrations, riots, and terrorism to promote hate and discriminatory ideals. These white nationalists, who once hide in plain sight, are now able to express themselves freely and gather in public settings. Oftentimes, these public gatherings end in violence and in the case of Charlottesville, even death. In this essay, I argue how the "Unite the Right" rally held in Charlottesville, succeeded in their social performance to draw attention to their identity and communicate to America, specifically those who they view as being politically correct, that they are being assertive and making sure that they are being heard. These white nationalists are showing America that they will do whatever to preserve American history and use the first amendment to say whatever they want to say so that they can invoke a response. This past summer, white supremacists and other right–wing groups held a "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville to express their concerns regarding the taking down of symbols that relate to America's Confederate past. The removal of monuments caused major controversy with white supremacists and citizens who were in favor of the removal of monuments (Merica, 2017). This resulted to white nationalists mobilizing in downtown Charlottesville to make it clear that they are exercising their freedom of speech and assembly to go against social norms. Through this event, white nationalists could incite the political tension among the two political parties on the decision to remove Confederate monuments. It can be deduced that both parties are exercising their first amendment rights and that the disagreement comes from the way these white nationalists are expressing themselves and the ideals that they believe in. • 63. The Empire Of Illusion : The Art Of Deception? The art of deception is an essential skill, especially in moments such as political debates and commercial promotions. In today's society, artifice is a widely utilized skill to persuade the public. The commercial market connects producers to consumers through propaganda which appeals to consumers through elements such as pathos, ethos, and logos. Utilizing these elements, the audience is immediately drawn into the viewpoint of the deceiver. Politicians tried to appear as ordinary and modest as possible to seem more appealing to their audience. But, it can be a deception. As Chris Hedges said in his Empire of Illusion, a story is the best form of artifice because the "consistency and emotional appeal of the story are paramount." Often politicians tell stories to create a persona making themselves look more trustworthy. There are many articles about the National Anthem Protest published last year that used artifice. In one particular center–view article, the author Sally Jenkins gives us the story of a soldier who stood in front of a truck consisting of explosives. This story appeals to the reader's pathos as it generates respect for this soldier. It brought them to the question of whether it's patriotic to protest during the anthem which symbolizes the many people who fought for the country. Although these efforts are good ideas, they do not always work and have proven at times to make things worse. In the U.S., Confederate flags are still used in racist ways towards blacks, there is evidence of racist police brutality, and there are still believers of "white supremacy." Recently, there have been rallies where individuals voice hateful, racist opinions. Racism is not over in America. The Confederate Flag, a treasure to many whites in the South is from a battle that they will never forget. To others it is seen as a form of racism due to the KKK, or Ku Klux Klan, which adapted the flag as their own. Long ago, the Confederate flag was known as a battle flag used by many Southern Armies in the American Civil War. Later, in the 20th century the KKK adopted the flag, continuing their white supremacist campaign. Many consider the flag to be racist because it became a potent symbol of slavery and white supremacism over the years. "To many white Southerners, the flag is an emblem of regional heritage and pride. But to others, it has a starkly different meaning – representing racism, slavery, and the country's long history of oppression of African Americans" (Smith, 6/24/15). Although there were efforts to inhibit Blacks from voting began in 1865, around the start of reconstruction, it was not until the 1890s that white legislators were able to transform disenfranchisement practices into a set concrete laws. Not wanting to adversely affect whites, the Texas state legislature viewed the direct primary system as the most effective way to revoke the ballot from as many Black Texans as possible, therefore from 1895–1923, every legislative session that convened in Texas allocated a great deal of time to refining this system . Constantly creating stipulations, such as; requiring voters to pay a poll tax, only allowing members of the Democratic Party to participate in primaries, and creating racial qualifications for membership. The result of these sessions was the white primary system that successfully barred Black Texans from voting, for several decades to come. However, these laws would not persist ...
