This three-year project will evaluate the impact of agricultural development programs on gender inequalities and asset disparities in rural communities. It will analyze data from 8-10 existing agricultural projects to identify which strategies were most effective at reducing gaps between men's and women's control and ownership of assets like land, livestock, and financial resources. The project will build capacity among implementers and evaluators to conduct gender-sensitive assessments and evaluations. It will also identify best practices for ensuring women benefit equally from agricultural development. Overall findings and lessons learned will be disseminated to help shape future programs to place gender considerations at the center of their work.
