2. The shot used here is a wide shot it shows the atmosphere around the two main characters in the scene.
The use of shallow focus puts the main characters as the focal point of the scene. It shows that they are in a
nightclub setting, however they are sat at a table by themselves unlike others in the scene. We see that they
are a conventional heterosexual couple of middle age. This is a conventional couple for romantic comedy.
They also appear to be smartly dressed showing they are both in a middle class socio-economic group.
The use of low key lighting sets the scene for having a romantic atmosphere.
The lights in the scene give off a warm glow.

3. This is a two shot of a male and a female character sat a bar. However it is not the same person
that he was with during the previous scene. This could indicate that the male character is
interested in dating and was possibly unsuccessful with the last women. The scene shows the
female on the left had side, in film this is the most dominant side and clearly shows this as the
male character appears to have he’s head looking down is disappointment. We can see this is not
an as formal date due to the relaxed clothing.

4. This image shows one main character, however the others in the scene are not focused upon. The
main character is wearing a bright blue dress which overpowers the scene of mostly neutral tones,
and puts he at the centre of attention. She is shown as being an attractive character. The dress is
also low cut showing her cleavage area, this could suggest she's quite promiscuous. She could also
just be trying to impress a male character and flaunting herself is her way of doing so. Her facial
expressions makes her appear sinister, this is stereotypical of a romantic comedy to have a character
who is seen as bad.

5. This mid shot shows the male character and another female character. This scene shows the
two characters walking through a town setting having a discussion. The towns looks to have a
clean feel to it, this is given off by the natural tones. A decorative feel is also given off, this is
because of the old fashion street lighting and the more decorative shop fronts. By having the
two main character in the centre of the shot it shows their importance, shallow focus has also
been used to do this. The high key lighting gives a light feeling about the scene.

6. Shallow focus is used to show the importance of the main characters. The shot is an over the
shoulder shot form the women on the left hand side of the image. The main focus of this
screen is on the female in the centre of the image and the male on the right. The scene is light
and consists of lots of bright and vibrant colours. This colours go with the scene as it’s a
birthday party and the colours represent the happy atmosphere.

7. There is a lot of action going on in this scene. This wide shot shows a large amount of detail
which is happening in the scene. We see that there is a large number of personnel ranging
form adults to children. The main action from this scene comes from the boy in the green T-
shirt and the man wearing the purple T-shirt. The scene shows the boy head-butting the mans
crotch area, this is seen as an act of comedy.

8. This shot shows two male characters looking at an object and one female character looking
away. Later on in the trailer when see that they are staring at a women in a swimsuit. This is
stereotypical of male characters to stare at women. All of this scene is in focus, however other
members of the cast are set well back into the scene. The setting appears to be in a hotel in a
country with a warm climate. This holiday could suggest love and romance for a couple, this is
needed with a romantic comedy.
The male in the burgundy vest appears to be looking more at the female.
