The first question we decided to ask in our questionnaire was how old the
respondents were, as this would determine what target audience we should
aim for. It is clear that all respondents were between the age of 16-18, so
therefore this is our target audience for our documentary. We gave our
questionnaires to a total number of 30 people.

The second question we asked the respondents was whether they were
male or female. We asked this because we wanted to find out what gender
wanted to take part in the questionnaire. It is clear in the graph that the
majority of our respondents were female.

What is your favourite colour?
We decided to ask the respondents what their favourite colour was as this would
help us decide which consistent colour scheme to follow and what colour we can
use for the documentary graphics etc. Out of all the colours, Red and blue were
the top two so we will include them in our documentary.

We then asked our respondents whether or not they go bowling because we
wanted to know if it was a particular interest to people. Out of the 30 people
we asked, 25 of them said they do go bowling which is good because we know
that the majority of people we asked enjoy going bowling.

Out of the 25 people who said they go bowling, we then asked them to
specify why the like going bowling and amazingly, 16 of them said they
found it fun. This clearly shows that the majority of our audience finds
bowling fun so we will aim to make our documentary fun and exciting.

We also asked our respondents who they go bowling with as this would help us
decide who to film and interview for our documentary. The graph clearly shows
that the majority of people we asked attends bowling with friends. A number of
respondents also attend bowling with their families so we will aim to focus on
this throughout our documentary.

Next, we asked the respondents how often they go bowling as this will give
us a good idea of how many people will appear on the documentary at that
certain time. The majority of respondents go bowling at least once a month.

sport as we will be including bowling league players in our documentary.
Luckily, 18 out of the 30 respondents agreed that it was a competitive sport.

We asked the respondents what else they do when they go bowling as this
will help us decide what cut-aways we will include in our documentary. 16
out of the 30 respondents stated that they go to Laser Quest during their
time at bowling so we will include this somewhere in our documentary.

This has helped us think about our documentary as we now know that
people who have an interest in bowling, would recommend it to others.

We asked our 30 respondents what channel do they watch the most as this
will help us decide what channel to air our documentary on. Its clear in the
graph that Channel 4 was the most popular. Therefore, we have chosen
channel 4 as the channel we our airing our documentary on.

We asked our respondents what time they mostly watch TV, as this will
determine what time we will air our documentary on. It is clear on the graph
that 17 of our respondents watch TV between 6pm and 9pm. Therefore, we will
aim to have our documentary shown at time in that category.

Finally, the last question we asked the audience was what genre of music
they enjoyed as this will help us decide what music to feature in our
documentary. The most popular genre was indie so therefore we will
include this in our documentary . We may also include some dance music in
our documentary as this was the most second popular choice.

Questionnaire results

The first question we decided to ask in our questionnaire was how old the respondents were, as this would determine what target audience we should aim for. It is clear that all respondents were between the age of 16-18, so therefore this is our target audience for our documentary. We gave our questionnaires to a total number of 30 people.
  • 3. What gender are you? Female (25) Male (5) The second question we asked the respondents was whether they were male or female. We asked this because we wanted to find out what gender wanted to take part in the questionnaire. It is clear in the graph that the majority of our respondents were female.
  • 4. What is your favourite colour? 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 Blue Red Pink Purple Yellow Orange Other What is your favourite colour? We decided to ask the respondents what their favourite colour was as this would help us decide which consistent colour scheme to follow and what colour we can use for the documentary graphics etc. Out of all the colours, Red and blue were the top two so we will include them in our documentary.
  • 5. Do you go bowling? Yes (25) No (5) We then asked our respondents whether or not they go bowling because we wanted to know if it was a particular interest to people. Out of the 30 people we asked, 25 of them said they do go bowling which is good because we know that the majority of people we asked enjoy going bowling.

This clearly shows that the majority of our audience finds bowling fun so we will aim to make our documentary fun and exciting.

The graph clearly shows that the majority of people we asked attends bowling with friends. A number of respondents also attend bowling with their families so we will aim to focus on this throughout our documentary.

Next, we asked the respondents how often they go bowling as this will give us a good idea of how many people will appear on the documentary at that certain time. The majority of respondents go bowling at least once a month.
  • 9. Do you see bowling as a competitive sport? 18 12 Yes No We asked our respondents whether they thought bowling was a competitive sport as we will be including bowling league players in our documentary. Luckily, 18 out of the 30 respondents agreed that it was a competitive sport.

We asked the respondents what else they do when they go bowling as this will help us decide what cut-aways we will include in our documentary. 16 out of the 30 respondents stated that they go to Laser Quest during their time at bowling so we will include this somewhere in our documentary.
  • 11. Would you recommend bowling to others? 25 5 Yes No 25 of the respondents said that they would recommend bowling to others. This has helped us think about our documentary as we now know that people who have an interest in bowling, would recommend it to others.

Its clear in the graph that Channel 4 was the most popular. Therefore, we have chosen channel 4 as the channel we our airing our documentary on.

It is clear on the graph that 17 of our respondents watch TV between 6pm and 9pm. Therefore, we will aim to have our documentary shown at time in that category.

The most popular genre was indie so therefore we will include this in our documentary . We may also include some dance music in our documentary as this was the most second popular choice.
